Rumi Persian Cuisine - Review - Coral Way - Miami - The Infatuation

"Rumi has entered Coral Way’s roster of great restaurants and cafes. The Persian spot has a lot of kabobs. The menu also has things like peri peri chicken wings, falafel, and kashk bademjan. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Mariana Trabanino

Miami’s 12 Best Middle Eastern Restaurants | Eater Miami

"Iranian cuisine is big on flavors, and this family-friendly Pinecrest eatery pays homage to them with traditional tadig (stew) atop sizzling crispy rice, green basmati rice, cucumber yogurt and all sorts of kabobs. End the meal with a cup of hot Persian tea and falodeh, the Iranian version of sorbet." - Juliana Accioly

As an Iraqi, I’ve grown up surrounded by some of the richest Middle Eastern flavors — and I can confidently say Homa Persian Cuisine goes above and beyond anything I’ve had in Miami. Every dish was bursting with authentic Persian flavor, perfectly balanced, and cooked with true love and precision. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the warmth and hospitality that reminds you of home. The gheymeh and kabobs were absolutely unreal — tender, flavorful, and beautifully plated. You can taste the quality in every bite. I’ve tried Persian food all over the world, but this place stands out as one of the best. Much love and respect from your Iraqi neighbor 🇮🇶 — you’ve truly raised the bar for authentic Persian cuisine in Miami! 🙌🔥

This lovely little restaurant on 17th Ave. and US-1 is a great new addition to the neighborhood. We had the eggplant appetizer which was delicious and my partner and I had the chicken and the lamb and they were also really really delicious. The seasoning was just perfect, and the spices were not overdone so the balance was wonderful. We had a vanilla/pistachio type of ice cream, which I enjoyed, but my partner didn’t love too much. The place is cute and welcoming, and the service was wonderful. A special lamb dish was not available that dayand neither was the lentil soup so I will sure come back to try those. I highly recommend this little gem.

Google
Homa is such a great spot in Miami. The food is delicious and full of authentic Persian flavors, and everything tastes fresh and well made. The atmosphere is warm, and the service was friendly and attentive. Definitely a place I’d come back to and recommend.

Google
We had such a lovely experience at Rumi Persian Restaurant! I ordered the lamb shank with green rice (baghali polo ba mahiche) and it was absolutely delicious ,tender, flavorful, and comforting. My husband had the Soltani, and he really enjoyed it too. He said the barg kabob was especially outstanding — even better than the koobideh! We also shared a Mediterranean salad which was fresh and perfectly balanced. But what truly made the experience special was the hospitality of the owner and chef. He was incredibly warm and even treated us to complimentary tea, which was such a kind gesture. I was just visiting Miami, but if I ever return, Rumi will definitely be on my list again! Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic Persian food and genuine hospitality.

We were treated great from our arrival. Yes it’s a little hole in the wall but they keep it nice and clean. The food was amazing and they even gave us complimentary tea.

Google
Homa is definitely the best Persian restaurant in Miami! The food was absolutely delicious. The Joojeh (grilled chicken) was cooked to perfection, it was tender, moist and very tasty. The Koobideh (minced kabob) was one of the best we've had in a very long time. Both were served over excellent Basmati rice with grilled tomatoes. However, the star of the show was the appetizer Kashk Bademjoon (grilled eggplant with a yogurt-like sauce and fried onions). This dish was prepared to perfection! We noticed that every other table had ordered it too. Service at Homa was very attentive and quick. The server even brought complimentary tea at the end! The decor is nice and homey and the prices exceedingly reasonable. Couldn't recommend this restaurant in stronger terms!

Every time is a pleasure to be greeted with friendliness and kindness, be it the servers or the owner himself. All dishes we have tried so far are flavorful and true to their traditions. It’s great to have the traditional loose leaf brewed hot Persian tea instead of tea bags! Their plates are artistic and the humble atmosphere is simple yet cozy. We wish the best of luck as a new business and hope the quality will maintain itself, if not exceed expectations. Today we had the Kashke bademjan, hummus and kababs with special request to be served with fava and dill rice. The kababs were so tasty and nicely marinated- tender and juicy. What a treat!

Google
There is a reason this restaurant is a 4.9!! From start to finish, my boyfriend and I had an amazing experience. Our server was very kind, knowledgeable, professional, and attentive. We had the humus dish which was the best I’ve had anywhere followed by a kabob dish. I will 1000% come back!

Yelp
I stopped by with my family for dinner and boy am I happy we did. You know when good food makes you emotional? Makes you smile? Makes your day? Waves of nostalgia from childhood meals flooded over me. Damn the kashk-o bademjan!! Let me break it down for you. The food is how your mom makes it. Made with love. The restaurant is clean. I'm talking CLEAN! The staff is friendly and engaging. Service was amazing. Nothing lacked!! The only disappointment I had was with my stomach for not wanting more food. I unapologetically stuffed my face. If you're a real Persian looking for a chelokabab experience then you are in luck my friend. The chef and owner Arash is such a kind human being. He made his rounds and made sure every table was taken care of. we ordered the Homa platter which was a kabab sampler so we got to try a little of everything. The tomatoes were perfectly charred (just how I like it!) the rice had the perfect amount of butter IYKYK The icecream...god bless whoever left a review about the icecream. Saffron...rose water...heaven. I have a feeling we're going back next weekend.

Yelp
My Husband was really excited to try this spot, so we went for dinner. A reservation is needed! The first time we tried there was a wait of over an hour, so we came back a different day with a reservation. It's a small restaurant with limited seating, and a high demand for their good food! The food feels very homey. We enjoyed the lamb stew and kebabs that we got. We would definitely go back. The server was really nice and personable.

Yelp
Fresh and Delicious! Family and I decided to have lunch Saturday at Rumi Persian Cuisine. The restaurant is on 17th Ave near US1 across the street from Casola's Pizza. This cozy little restaurant is a new addition to the Silver Bluff area. Parking is located on the side by a laundromat which it shares parking with all the businesses on the lot. The inside decor is simple and service is friendly and accommodating. But the star of the show here is the food. For appetizers we had the Falafel. I've had falafel before but these tasted so fresh and so flavorful. Probably the best falafel I've ever had. The Tahini sauce was also so fresh and along with the small side salad everything balanced the falafel perfectly. For entrees we had the Chenjeh Lari (Lamb) Kabob and the Joojeh (Chicken) Kabob. We also ordered a side of Koobideh (Ground Beef) Kabob. The entrees come with a good size serving of rice. But what made this rice special was the dab of ghee they place on top before serving. Oh my!! Once that ghee melted into my rice, it just added an amazing buttery flavor to the already delicious rice. Growing up Cuban, I have consumed my fair share of rice. And this has to be some of the most delicious rice I've ever had. The Kabobs were all also delicious and perfectly seasoned. But we were also given some Sumac spice and Mast O'Khiar yogurt dip to accompany our entrees. Both elevated what was already amazing dishes to another level. The Sumac spice gave a tart lemony tone which was like squeezing some lime and activating flavors. Then the yogurt dip provided the perfect refreshing element to the protein. Overall it was a great meal. Luckily we had some leftovers and am already looking forward to eating more later. Definitely recommend Rumi Persian Cuisine and ecstatic to add them to the neighborhood restaurant list.

Yelp
Wow! What a restaurant! Beautiful on the inside and some of the best Persian food on your plate. To be completely frank if you're a vegetarian Rumi might not be a great choice for you as their vegetarian selections are super limited. But my partner and I made the most of it and still had an amazing meal. I did not know how delicious the simple tomato, cheese, walnut, cucumber salad could be. Rumi's take on it was beyond exceptional. You could taste how fresh the ingredients were and the flavors worked so well together. Also I am a sucker for fresh hot pita. Rumi left me a happy man with that. The staff was amazing, the decor was fun, the food was without a doubt the star. Just add a few more vegetarian plates and you will find me a regular customer at Rumi.

Yelp
Rumi (now named Homa to honor the owners mother), is a wonderful place for some good old Persian cuisine. We went with a big group (8 of us) around 6 pm and were seated right away. It was just us in the beginning of the night but got packed in a few hours for the dinner rush. Arash, the owner greeted us right away which is always pleasant coming from a restaurant owner. We ordered a bunch of dishes from kabobs to stews and it was also super flavorful! I've been to many restaurants but I have to say, the service was top notch and it was only 3 people running it (Guyencyy and Andre were killing it!). Every dish was presented in beautiful plates. The kashke bademonjoon (roasted eggplant app) was probably the best I had. I could taste the roasted walnuts and eggplant so distinctly. As the night got slammed with customer, the service was still Top notch and I can always appreciate that! There is plenty of parking in the back around the corner of the resturant. They also have a small wall with some Persian items if you need anything. The tea was also a perfect touch at the end. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
I loved this place! Went on a solo date and had an amazing time! Food was 10/10. I highly recommend to come check this spot.

Yelp
Cool spot in Shenandoah! Located across the street from El Carajo, facing 17th Ave, with limited parking inside a shared lot. Inside is quiet, minimal decor, and a really small market. Our waiter was nice and attentive. The food was good quality, decent seasoning. It's a little on the pricier side, which is in incongruent to the area. Up I would recommend it, check them out.

Yelp
Rumi is the last Persian restaurant to open in Miami. I started with the Mast-o Musir which it was ok. A good Mast-o Musir should be creamier, less runny. The yogurt they are using doesn't have the perfect consistency for a 5 stars one. However, I gotta say it had a good flavor profile. For the main dish, I settled with the Soltani. The barg (beef) kabob was soft, perfectly cooked and seasoned. You can tell the meat cut was of good quality. The kobideh didn't have the best consistency(too soft) but the flavors were spot on. All in all, this was a 4+ stars dish that I enjoyed so much and would repeat at any time. Lastly, the Persian ice cream was delish. The rose water notes were coming out nice and in combination with the saffron ones. If this was sugar free, I would be eating it for breakfast, lunch and dinner :) so delicious. All in all, a good restaurant with delicious food and a lot of potential to deliver one of the best Persian food in town.

Yelp
So tasty! This is an unassuming little place- not a fancy restaurant. Think one notch above takeout in terms of atmosphere. But the food was very fresh and tasty, and priced very fairly. We had salads, hummus, and amazing kebabs. Tender and delicious served with fluffy rice and warm pita.

Yelp
Had a wonderful experience at Rumi's! Walked in for lunch in a Friday to an empty restaurant - but c could hear the nonstop uber eats pings so they stay busy! Upon withering, you can see the restaurant is very clean, they've got mini Persian rugs as coasters and a tv screen showing images and videos of Iran. Our server (I am so disappointed in myself to say I forgot his name) was excellent. He explained the menu, offered suggestions and was constantly checking in us. We had the Kashk bademjan, joojeh, koobideh, Chenjeh Lari Kabob, and Bastani. Everything's was amazing... everything! Juicy and cooked to perfection with incredible taste. Portions are good (I had enough to take to go, my fiancee ate all of his) and the bastani was the perfect ending. Remember to add sumac to your rice and ask for butter in the side - you can top your rice with butter and fold it in to melt, the Iranian way! Highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back regularly.

Yelp
Amazing Persian cuisine. We loved it and will visit again. The staff is friendly and there is parking.

Yelp
We've been watching and waiting for Rumi to open and we're glad they're here! We were big fans of the Rumi down in Pinecrest and we just had a delicious dinner at this location last night. As an appetizer, we shared the Kashk Bademjan (Golden sauteed eggplant topped with mint, crispy onions, garlic and cream of yogurt) and the Adasi (Hearty persian lentil soup, simmered with caramalized onions, carrots and tumeric). Both were great, and the eggplant was addictive. We tried to only eat half of it, but we kept taking "one more bite" over and over until it was all gone. For the entree, the two of us shared the Grilled Atlantic Salmon (Saffron marinated fillet in Rumi's special seasoning, fava beans & dill basmati rice). It was also excellent and I'm craving it again as I'm writing this. The service was very sweet and friendly, even though it was packed. We will definitely be back, and we are already talking about using them for catering.

Yelp
Not only the food is amazing, the atmosphere is great, the place is nice and clean and the owners are very friendly and welcoming. We ordered hummus and falafel and it was just perfect. I have tried falafel in many restaurants but not like this one! The chicken kabob was juicy, the rice was perfect. The chef recommended us to try the barg meat kabob and OMG, the meat is so tender it literally melts in your mouth. The portions are generous as well. We will be definitely coming back!

Looks amazing and taste amazing. This is my go to place.. when I want to indulge in flavors between India and Arabic foods. Great service with the feeling of homemade food.

Yelp
We had a wonderful time at this Gem for lunch, we tried kashke bademjan, koobide, barg, mast-moosier, persian ice cream, and all of the dishes were delicious and high quality. I have experienced many persian food places in Los Angeles, but none really is comparable to Rumi in terms of ingredients quality and presentation.

Yelp
Totally recommend this spot. Not only is the service friendly, but the food is delicious and great sized portions as well. Their Hummus and Minced Eggplant with Yogurt appetizers were incredible.

Yelp
This was the best Persian food I've ever ordered in a restaurant. It honestly felt like home, and I am not even Persian -- but I know good Persian food when I see it and taste it. It's very high-quality food, and you will definitely leave satisfied and come back again. The atmosphere is very nice as well, and they make you feel welcome.:-)

Yelp
Amazing food . Great service. By far the best Persian food I have ever had. I wish I lived closer to eat here all the time.

Kate H.

Yelp
I would give this place 6 stars if I could. The food, especially the eggplant and beef kebab, were exceptional, and the staff were friendly and informative but not overbearing. This is a casual space, I was comfortable.

Lorraine L.

Yelp
So excited to have Persian cuisine in the neighborhood. We ordered the soltani kebabs. Tender, juicy and delicious. The rice was buttery And fluffy. I hope they start using beef in their stews instead of lamb. The owner is especially welcoming and kind.

Romeo M.

Yelp
We tried Rumi which is a neighborhood mom and pop located across the street from El Carajo on 17 th Avenue and US1. It specializes in Persian food. There are not too many good Persian restaurants in Miami. It is clean, good portions and reasonably priced. The menu is full of healthy and delicious options. A definite go to.

John S.

Yelp
Among the best restaurants I've ever been too. The food is absolutely delicious, the menu is focused, the decor and atmosphere are superb, and the owner and servers are attentive, respectful, and kind. This restaurant deserves utmost praise !
