Miami’s 12 Best Middle Eastern Restaurants | Eater Miami

"Iranian cuisine is big on flavors, and this family-friendly Pinecrest eatery pays homage to them with traditional tadig (stew) atop sizzling crispy rice, green basmati rice, cucumber yogurt and all sorts of kabobs. End the meal with a cup of hot Persian tea and falodeh, the Iranian version of sorbet." - Juliana Accioly

We had such a lovely experience at Rumi Persian Restaurant! I ordered the lamb shank with green rice (baghali polo ba mahiche) and it was absolutely delicious ,tender, flavorful, and comforting. My husband had the Soltani, and he really enjoyed it too. He said the barg kabob was especially outstanding — even better than the koobideh! We also shared a Mediterranean salad which was fresh and perfectly balanced. But what truly made the experience special was the hospitality of the owner and chef. He was incredibly warm and even treated us to complimentary tea, which was such a kind gesture. I was just visiting Miami, but if I ever return, Rumi will definitely be on my list again! Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic Persian food and genuine hospitality.

Not only the food is amazing, the atmosphere is great, the place is nice and clean and the owners are very friendly and welcoming. We ordered hummus and falafel and it was just perfect. I have tried falafel in many restaurants but not like this one! The chicken kabob was juicy, the rice was perfect. The chef recommended us to try the barg meat kabob and OMG, the meat is so tender it literally melts in your mouth. The portions are generous as well. We will be definitely coming back!

The space was clean and well , organized, and convenient parking made the visit even better. It’s truly one of the best Persian restaurants in Miami. Highly recommended!

A Cozy Persian Gem: RUMI Persian Cuisine on 17th Ave Tucked just off the busy US1 on 17th Ave, RUMI Persian Cuisine is a true hidden gem. Though the area buzzes with traffic, stepping inside this charming spot feels like entering a peaceful, fragrant haven. The eggplant dishes are outstanding — smoky, tender, and layered with flavor. The okra stew with lamb is a standout: rich, comforting, and beautifully spiced, served over saffron rice. What sets RUMI apart is the owner and chef, who personally visits each table to share the stories behind the recipes — a warm, genuine touch that turns dinner into something unforgettable. RUMI isn’t just a meal; it’s a heartfelt cultural experience🫶Jeannett.

Every time is a pleasure to be greeted with friendliness and kindness, be it the servers or the owner himself. All dishes we have tried so far are flavorful and true to their traditions. It’s great to have the traditional loose leaf brewed hot Persian tea instead of tea bags! Their plates are artistic and the humble atmosphere is simple yet cozy. We wish the best of luck as a new business and hope the quality will maintain itself, if not exceed expectations. Today we had the Kashke bademjan, hummus and kababs with special request to be served with fava and dill rice. The kababs were so tasty and nicely marinated- tender and juicy. What a treat!

Rumi is the last Persian restaurant to open in Miami. I started with the Mast-o Musir which it was ok. A good Mast-o Musir should be creamier, less runny. The yogurt they are using doesn’t have the perfect consistency for a 5 stars one. However, I gotta say it had a good flavor profile. For the main dish, I settled with the Soltani. The barg (beef) kabob was soft, perfectly cooked and seasoned. You can tell the meat cut was of good quality. The kobideh didn’t have the best consistency(too soft) but the flavors were spot on. All in all, this was a 4+ stars dish that I enjoyed so much and would repeat at any time. Lastly, the Persian ice cream was delish. The rose water notes were coming out nice and in combination with the saffron ones. If this was sugar free, I would be eating it for breakfast, lunch and dinner :) so delicious. All in all, a good restaurant with delicious food and a lot of potential to deliver one of the best Persian food in town.

I recommend it! Food is really tasty and portion sizes are more than plenty. We had hummus as an appetizer, likely the best hummus I've had. I had the Kabob Soltani, meat was seasoned well and cooked perfectly.

We like to try Mediterranean-like restaurants when we travel; this gem in Miami came on our list and there we went. The place is CLEAN, quiet, and inviting. The inside temperature is perfect, adding to the impeccable service. Kashk Bademjan, Braised Lamb Shank, Joojeh Kebab, Shirazi Salad, and Bastani (Persian ice cream) were absolutely delicious! Highly recommend!!!!!

Yelp
This was the best Persian food I've ever ordered in a restaurant. It honestly felt like home, and I am not even Persian -- but I know good Persian food when I see it and taste it. It's very high-quality food, and you will definitely leave satisfied and come back again. The atmosphere is very nice as well, and they make you feel welcome.:-)

Yelp
Fresh and Delicious! Family and I decided to have lunch Saturday at Rumi Persian Cuisine. The restaurant is on 17th Ave near US1 across the street from Casola's Pizza. This cozy little restaurant is a new addition to the Silver Bluff area. Parking is located on the side by a laundromat which it shares parking with all the businesses on the lot. The inside decor is simple and service is friendly and accommodating. But the star of the show here is the food. For appetizers we had the Falafel. I've had falafel before but these tasted so fresh and so flavorful. Probably the best falafel I've ever had. The Tahini sauce was also so fresh and along with the small side salad everything balanced the falafel perfectly. For entrees we had the Chenjeh Lari (Lamb) Kabob and the Joojeh (Chicken) Kabob. We also ordered a side of Koobideh (Ground Beef) Kabob. The entrees come with a good size serving of rice. But what made this rice special was the dab of ghee they place on top before serving. Oh my!! Once that ghee melted into my rice, it just added an amazing buttery flavor to the already delicious rice. Growing up Cuban, I have consumed my fair share of rice. And this has to be some of the most delicious rice I've ever had. The Kabobs were all also delicious and perfectly seasoned. But we were also given some Sumac spice and Mast O'Khiar yogurt dip to accompany our entrees. Both elevated what was already amazing dishes to another level. The Sumac spice gave a tart lemony tone which was like squeezing some lime and activating flavors. Then the yogurt dip provided the perfect refreshing element to the protein. Overall it was a great meal. Luckily we had some leftovers and am already looking forward to eating more later. Definitely recommend Rumi Persian Cuisine and ecstatic to add them to the neighborhood restaurant list.

Yelp
Wow! What a restaurant! Beautiful on the inside and some of the best Persian food on your plate. To be completely frank if you're a vegetarian Rumi might not be a great choice for you as their vegetarian selections are super limited. But my partner and I made the most of it and still had an amazing meal. I did not know how delicious the simple tomato, cheese, walnut, cucumber salad could be. Rumi's take on it was beyond exceptional. You could taste how fresh the ingredients were and the flavors worked so well together. Also I am a sucker for fresh hot pita. Rumi left me a happy man with that. The staff was amazing, the decor was fun, the food was without a doubt the star. Just add a few more vegetarian plates and you will find me a regular customer at Rumi.

Yelp
Had a wonderful experience at Rumi's! Walked in for lunch in a Friday to an empty restaurant - but c could hear the nonstop uber eats pings so they stay busy! Upon withering, you can see the restaurant is very clean, they've got mini Persian rugs as coasters and a tv screen showing images and videos of Iran. Our server (I am so disappointed in myself to say I forgot his name) was excellent. He explained the menu, offered suggestions and was constantly checking in us. We had the Kashk bademjan, joojeh, koobideh, Chenjeh Lari Kabob, and Bastani. Everything's was amazing... everything! Juicy and cooked to perfection with incredible taste. Portions are good (I had enough to take to go, my fiancee ate all of his) and the bastani was the perfect ending. Remember to add sumac to your rice and ask for butter in the side - you can top your rice with butter and fold it in to melt, the Iranian way! Highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back regularly.

Yelp
Cool spot in Shenandoah! Located across the street from El Carajo, facing 17th Ave, with limited parking inside a shared lot. Inside is quiet, minimal decor, and a really small market. Our waiter was nice and attentive. The food was good quality, decent seasoning. It's a little on the pricier side, which is in incongruent to the area. Up I would recommend it, check them out.

Yelp
We had a wonderful time at this Gem for lunch, we tried kashke bademjan, koobide, barg, mast-moosier, persian ice cream, and all of the dishes were delicious and high quality. I have experienced many persian food places in Los Angeles, but none really is comparable to Rumi in terms of ingredients quality and presentation.

Yelp
We've been watching and waiting for Rumi to open and we're glad they're here! We were big fans of the Rumi down in Pinecrest and we just had a delicious dinner at this location last night. As an appetizer, we shared the Kashk Bademjan (Golden sauteed eggplant topped with mint, crispy onions, garlic and cream of yogurt) and the Adasi (Hearty persian lentil soup, simmered with caramalized onions, carrots and tumeric). Both were great, and the eggplant was addictive. We tried to only eat half of it, but we kept taking "one more bite" over and over until it was all gone. For the entree, the two of us shared the Grilled Atlantic Salmon (Saffron marinated fillet in Rumi's special seasoning, fava beans & dill basmati rice). It was also excellent and I'm craving it again as I'm writing this. The service was very sweet and friendly, even though it was packed. We will definitely be back, and we are already talking about using them for catering.

Yelp
We are visiting from California. The food and service were so amazing that we came here three times in one week. We tried pretty much everything on the menu. Looking forward to our next visit.

Yelp
So excited to have Persian cuisine in the neighborhood. We ordered the soltani kebabs. Tender, juicy and delicious. The rice was buttery And fluffy. I hope they start using beef in their stews instead of lamb. The owner is especially welcoming and kind.

Yelp
We tried Rumi which is a neighborhood mom and pop located across the street from El Carajo on 17 th Avenue and US1. It specializes in Persian food. There are not too many good Persian restaurants in Miami. It is clean, good portions and reasonably priced. The menu is full of healthy and delicious options. A definite go to.

Yelp
Among the best restaurants I've ever been too. The food is absolutely delicious, the menu is focused, the decor and atmosphere are superb, and the owner and servers are attentive, respectful, and kind. This restaurant deserves utmost praise !
