Wow everything I tried was delicious. The pepperoni/cheese pizza bread in the bakery case was one of the tastiest gf things I’ve ever had. I should have stocked up this time but I’ll be back! They even warmed it up for me. White bread and hamburger bun/rolls were great. I especially loved the Bavarian soft pretzels! Excited to try more of what they have. Worth the half hour drive.

Because of Rumi's, my gluten free student was able to participate seamlessly in our holiday cookie decorating! Being able to bring my student a fresh-baked holiday shaped sugar cookie was the best, compared to the store-bought alternative. Rumi's was able to help me out and get me cookies my student could eat, their kindness gave me a teacher win and made my student's day! I am not gluten free, but I have family members who are, and everything that I have ever tried from Rumi's has been absolutely delicious!! Thank you Rumi's ❤️

This place is a Celiac's dream! Everything there is delicious, with lots of great options. They've made our wedding cake and birthday cakes! The staff is super friendly as well. I come back almost weekly just for their bread because it's basically the same price as store bought bread, but 100 times better.

Rumi’s is an amazing gluten free bakery. They always go above and beyond with any request. I just received my special order cake for my birthday and Rumi’s out did themselves. Besides looking beautiful, it tastes amazing!!!

Rumi’s is an amazing establishment and we are so thankful for this bakery! Always friendly, helpful and fresh gluten free products with so much flavor! I love the pie crusts for holiday baking. They also carry other GF items that are difficult to find in commercial stores. Always a great experience!

As someone with celiac disease and a dairy allergy this place is heaven sent! Can’t even name all the goodies in one review but my absolute favorites are the donuts and bread! They taste like they aren’t even gluten free. And the people are always so welcoming and helpful! Can’t recommend this bakery enough to everyone

It’s been so hard for me to find a good gluten-free bakery, or really, anything that serves strictly gluten-free options (among other dietary needs). I’ve been a customer of Rumi’s for about six years now and have never had a bad experience. I’m not trying to invalidate anyone’s experiences, but from what I’ve noticed, the people who leave “bad reviews” on this page rarely provide any evidence. Or, it’s simply not their cup of tea, which, in my opinion, isn’t a fair reason to leave a one-star review.

Rumi’s Passion is a gem for anyone gluten free! Their version of a bumpy cake cupcake is divine, the donuts are dense & yummy, and their pita bread makes for great wraps. I’ve never had anything I didn’t like there. So yummy & the staff there is fantastic!

My daughter and I stopped by Rumi Gluten Free Baked Goods after my husband mentioned seeing it on his route to work. The shop offers a variety of gluten-free options, from pastries and pies to pizza rolls and even some fruit-based candy. While browsing, I did feel a bit rushed by the staff. They were attentive, but the pressure to make quick decisions made the experience slightly uncomfortable. We ended up purchasing two cupcakes for my sons and some real fruit candy strips for my daughter. The cupcakes were okay--my sons said they weren't anything special. The candy fruit strips my daughter enjoyed. As someone who doesn't need to follow a gluten-free diet, I don't think I'll be returning, simply because the flavors didn't wow us, and we have more variety elsewhere. That said, for those who are gluten-intolerant or celiac, this place is a great option with a solid selection of treats that meet dietary needs without sacrificing availability.

We came here to get a gluten free cake for a retirement party as the guest of honor is celiac. I had never been here and had no expectations at all. First, I was surprised at how many cars were in the parking lot..,this place was hopping! Second, the variety in the store was incredible! We were only there for a cake but wound up browsing the shelves. Third, some pastry was also dairy free. Personally, I can eat gluten but not dairy so glad to see a few options for me. Finally, we were thrilled that we were able to get the cake personalized on the spot. We will definitely come back here if we ever need to get a gluten-free item.

UPDATING MY REVIEW: Skip the carrot cake. I paid $50 for a dry, super dense, and sickeningly sweet cake. The chocolate cake was so good a few years back - I was expecting the same for the carrot. It looked pretty though.

Very friendly and helpful staff. I will definitely return. Chocolate brownie was delicious. Also purchased rye bread. The guidance with keeping the bread fresh was immensity helpful.

Wonderful dedicated Gluten Free bakery with friendly and knowledgeable staff. We love the various pastries and breads that we've gotten from here over the last few years. Rumi's never disappoints!

I love a dedicated gluten free bakery. I purchased A vanilla cupcake w strawberry frosting, a blueberry crisp bar and gluten and dairy free hot dog buns. There are usually different treats every day. There are many other choices, the staff is friendly and helpful. Then why only 4 stars? The cupcake and bar came in clear plastic containers. I am trying to minimize my plastic usage but I cannot think of another way to send items home without ruining them. cupcake, here I come@

Saw that Rumi's was rated very high for pazske and decided to try. Didn't realize that it was a gluten free bakery until I arrived. Had a line of 6 customers, but there were 3clerks serving. Was looking for a raspberry but they were out. Got custard, lemon and blueberry. The three of us enjoyed them, remembered them being better from other bakeries.

This gluten-free nut-free bakery is amazing! Whether you are GF, NF, or have no dietary restrictions, you will love Dough. Dough is the savory sister bakery to Rumi's Passion sweet bakery in Plymouth. Dough makes a variety of GF and NF deli sandwiches to order, meat and cheese rolls, breads, pierogis, biscuits, pie and pizza doughs, quiches, soups, holiday charcuterie boards, and more. Their team is very helpful with questions, and they had a lot of freshly made goods ready to go.

Gluten Free Heaven! They have a case of pastry/cake options with some vegan as well. Additionally, they stock pantry staples and freezer items that are hard to find elsewhere.

Although their products are good their service is poor. They are rude and condescending to customers who have asked questions. It's unfortunate that he threw in my face that he is busy with all his other businesses. It's too bad. The old owner was sweet, kind and cares about their customers. I'm

Today I came in hoping for my favorite sandwich (Turkey Pesto) and unfortunately they didn't have enough staff to bake everything for the day. But, then I spotted a new item chocolate custard pop tart & it was amazing!! Loved it. Hope to make it back for the fruit one. They have the best gluten free options, just wish I was closer! Rumi's Passion cannot hold a candle to the prior owner "You Take the Cake". I frequented the store for every occasion for many years! Whatever I came up with, they would make it! A red telephone with the push buttons and curly cord for my uncle when he retired from the phone company. They even made a toilet for a plummer friend's birthday! The cake artists were out of this world! Went to Rumi's for a birthday cake. Their glass refrigerator was barren, I had my choice of two cakes. One was blue, no decorations on either cake and he had no one there to even write "Happy Birthday" on it. It looked more like a little grocery store than a bakery. I walked out and will never go back.

This was my first birthday gluten free and I was a little nervous to eat dessert because normally gluten free food is like cement. I found this place around midnight right before my 26th birthday, sent it to my mom and told her I wanted to try the Sour Cream Coffee Loaf because I love the Tim Hortons Sour Cream Timbits but can't have them anymore. She snagged that loaf and five eclairs. The eclairs were huge and the inside was soooo creamy. The loaf was dense and moist. I will be returning often and have already told everyone who will listen about this place. Gluten free, dairy free, corn free and soy free. HEAVEN for food allergies.

Plenty of Gluten-Free options! They have the best gluten-free bread products around! We drive 40 minutes out of our way almost weekly so I can get my Rumi's! Service is always fast, even when busy seems like they always have enough staff. My reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that not all options are available every day. We've made the trip a couple times to discover the item I wanted isn't available that day. But don't let that deter you from checking them out if you're Gluten free!

My sister has celiacs so we have been going to Rumis for 10+ years, and have never been disappointed. She loves the apple cinnamon bread, blondies, pretzels, to name a few. Very cute bakery.

Gluten free HEAVEN!!!!! They have food items I thought I'd never be able to eat again! Beef pasties, challah bread, pot pies, cupcakes, pizza rolls, soft pretzels, AND MORE!!! They also carry brands that are in local grocery stores but more options than Meijer, Walmart, Whole Foods, etc since this is their speciality. They also have vegan, soy free, dairy free, nut free, and other allergy sensitive items; just ask the employees! I will be back!!

Rumi's is my go to gluten free bakery. It is worth the 30 min drive for their delicious baked goods. I first got hooked on Rumi's when I bought their sandwich break at Westborn Market. Then I tried the Challah bread which I fell in love with. Eventually I made the trek to Plymouth to check out their store front and have since been multiple times. In addition to delicious gluten free bread, they also have my favorite hotdog and hamburger buns. They also have fresh baked treats like cinnamon rolls, cupcakes, pies and brownies, some of which are also dairy free. They special order cakes and other items you may need. They even make a mean turkey Ruben. In addition, they carry miscellaneous gluten free items from other brands like bread crumbs, pasta and crackers. This is a must visit for anyone who is gluten free, or even if you're not!

I have been looking for a bakery to buy custom cakes for our birthday / anniversary celebrations. We have been ordering from different bakeries in Farmington, Novi, Livonia and Plymouth for the last 3-4 years. We used Rumis Passion for the first time last week on my wifes birthday and they are by far the best in terms of quality, ease of ordering/ understanding the needs, and also best price in metro detroit area. My wife has Celiac's and while it's certainly gotten easier in the past decade to find gluten free products in chain grocery stores, nothing in the world beats Rumi's. She and I lived in Los Angeles for a few years and sampled other grocers/bakers who specialize in gluten free. Not even the highest end place in Beverly Hills can compare to the selection, quality and customer service of Rumi's. I've been going there a few times a year for the past few years and have never had anything close to a negative experience. My only complaint is that the selection is so vast that I always end up buying way more than we need!

Okay, I wish there were 10 stars! This was the best Wedding Cake I have ever tasted. My son got married July 19th and the Bride and myself are Gluten-Free. I ordered twice before this cake from RP. One for the personal shower, and another for the rehearsal dinner. Each time Rumi's cakes were amazing! But what pushed me to make a review is this Wedding cake! Hands down the best cake! I received so many compliments on this cake. Frosting, texture of the cake, and beauty of the cake. If your on the fence of ordering your wedding cake or any other special occasion cake..... I'm telling you "just do it" you will not regret it!

Best gluten free bakery around!!! So many choices. Cookies of every variety. Muffins, fantastic multi-grain bread. We bought pierogi and can't wait to try them. I can't believe they even make a seven layer torte. If you're used to frozen or other gluten free baked goods you will be amazed at the taste and texture of Rumi's. Happily I do not suffer from wheat allergies or issues but some family members do and Rumi's quality makes it possible for us to enjoy the same food instead of buying double.

I've been coming here for years since they originally opened and their cakes and cupcakes have gotten so so so sadly terrible. So dry,tasteless, and stale. ALL the time. I kept trying to give them benefit of doubt ..No more! I'm thinning they're frozen after being made then put out to sell. I can very easily make WAY better products at home. Their breads, bagels, and muffins have remained good; but I'd skip the rest and make at home.

A gluten free bakery, plus more. Very helpful staff. From bread to cookies, everything you can imagine. A gluten free/dairy free dream come true! I really like their bread here. Its used as gf bread at several restaurants. Wish I was closer, but, luckily, things freeze well!

Reasonable prices, very kind staff, and delicious gluten-free items: what more could a person with gluten intolerance ask for? Their white bread is my favorite gluten-free bread that I have found. Some family members have tasted it and not noticed a difference from wheat-based bread. The store has many dairy free and seasonal offerings- but some things do have dairy/are not vegan, so keep an eye out for that if you have to avoid dairy. As someone who loved bakeries prior to becoming gluten intolerant, I really appreciate how much this is like a normal bakery. Favorite items I've gotten here other than the white bread include: double black and white cookie, an apple pie, and macaroons.

This bakery is the creme de la creme for those with food allergies (and those without, too!) I've purchased several times in the past for events where I knew people with allergies would be attending. I could always find something that everyone could enjoy and it was always polished off! I myself do not have any allergies, but when Rumi's has been served at parties, I don't hesitate to try some. The most recent dish was cherry pie and it was delicious! Not too sweet, not too sour, with a flakey crust. It tasted a bit different than pies I'm used to eating but it was really good!

Great gluten free challah rolls here. They are soft and excellent for a gf item. Many other yummy gf items!l, too!

Rumi's! Our lil wedding cake was just perfect for us on our big day! Since I've been on a gluten free diet for many years I don't get to enjoy desserts and sweets that often, but let me tell you this was so delicious! I could have eaten this all by myself! Soo good and beautiful! Thank you!!!! ... also a plus, my husband who does not have any dietary restrictions loved this cake, he couldn't even tell this was gluten free! Great job!

The pretzels sticks burned my tongue. I literally mean burned my tongue after eating several bites. Was I crazy? Seems not after googling information on it. When I called and spoke with Martin the next morning, he argued that they don't use Lye in their pretzels and toss the the next day. I did not say they use Lye. I told him to check with the salt used on the pretzels. Nope, that's not the problem he said. Our pretzels are made fresh everyday. What does that have to do with the pretzels BURNING my mouth? Generally decent people but something has changed. I'll have the pretzels testing at the Michigan State Police Lab on Monday. My concern was others burning their mouths. Little kids..... This place continues to be my go-to place for gf baked goods. They recently moved so if you want to go check them out, look 1 door down to find their newer and larger space in the exact same strip of shops. I am excited for what a larger space might mean for them!

My review is more customer service based since I didn't purchase anything on my visit. I hate having to write bad reviews however I pride myself on always being completely honest. Having some food allergies and a gluten allergy that have developed recently I've been looking for a bakery that may be able to fit my needs. I had heard good things and read great reviews on Yelp about Rumi's and finally was in the area and able to stop in. The store was small but had a lot of very tasty treats inside. There were cookies, brownies, cakes, breads etc. Frozen and fresh items. However, we were not greeted by either of the employees upon entering or the whole time that we were in the store walking around. Not even when we were by the register looking at the bakery showcase. No one acknowledged us or offered any assistance what so ever. I could understand a bit more if it had been extremely busy but we were the only ones there at the time. Since i wasn't seeing anything that would fit in with my dietary needs and feeling very uncomfortable we decided to leave. As soon as we stepped outside my daughter said "wow, how weird was that? No one even said anything to us." So it wasn't just me who felt odd I guess. Needless to say I won't be returning! Customer service should always be a top priority in my book

Rumi's is the BEST!!! It is not often you find allergy-friendly treats that taste this good. 100% recommend. I always get my birthday cakes here and treats for my sister who eats a completely GF diet. It's dangerously close to my home They also have a wonderful selection of allergy-friendly dry and frozen packaged goods that are very difficult to find elsewhere.

Rumi's was my once every 8 weeks or so drive for homemade gluten-free bread, a sweet treat, and a couple of essentials (like buns, pie crust, snacks, sauce, etc.) Now, it is my downfall. After recently changing jobs to the area, I find myself seeking Rumi's weekly, or several times a week, as balm for a stressful day with a cream filled chocolate cupcake...Or a custard filled, chocolate dipped eclair...Or a fried cinnamon donut... You see the trouble.

My family has a variety of dietary needs so finding a gluten free and vegan cake is no easy challenge. Rumis not only had this product but it was absolutely delicious and the proverbial icing on the cake was the excellent customer service we received. So very pleased with our experience here.

I probably should give them 5 stars to be honest. This is a great bakery and close to us. I've stood in line there and talked to customers that drove from the East Side to purchase gluten free items from Rumi's. The coffee cake is my favorite. I do buy specialty items for the little ones there. I know quality ingredients are used in their products.

Gluten Free Review: Rumi's is my spot for all things gluten free! Their bread is the best gf bread I have ever had. I love all the different options that they carry, a lot of them homemade. Their cookies & cakes are a must for the holidays. One thing you have to try if you are new to Rumi's is their blueberry muffins. They are amazing and will have you questioning if they are gluten free at all! Note: I am not not celiac and do not have issues with cross contamination. If you are celiac please speak with the server before ordering.

I have go back to Rumi's Passion every time I come home for a visit. It is no surprise how much they have expanded their business. To many gluten free bakeries have not made it through the pandemic. Excellent products and service.

Yes! As a celiac sufferer I love that someone recommended this place to me. Saturday's they have donuts! Sometimes regulate, other weeks friend and filled. Their bread is great, also they have a delish sour cream coffee cake. I've been trying a few things every time I go. They also have a selection of commercial gluten free foods like Siete brands and various GF sauces and packed items. Totally worth a visit if you need a gluten free diet.

I didn't care for it but my daughter did. They do have gluten free products if you are into that.

I do not follow a strict diet or even eat that healthy, to be frank. I eat sweets every day and I know a good cake, so I was very skeptical about what this gluten and dairy free cake was going to taste like when I picked it up from Rumi's. My boss has allergies and it was her birthday, so I called around to a few places. Rumi's answered the phone quickly both times, giving me all the information I needed. When I got there, I waited in line for 2 minutes and that's probably an overestimation, although the place was HOPPING. While I was there, there was constant in and out of customers...good sign, right? I asked the staff about the cakes, she walked me over to the case, grabbed the cake and decorated it in a matter of minutes and we were on our way. Speed was everything to me at this point - I had driven 45 minutes here after a looong day at work. I ate the cake the next day at work and it blew my mind. It tasted no different than any other regular Kroger cake I've ever had - and actually, better. Everyone else agreed and most importantly, the birthday girl loved it. I will be back!

I have a co worker who has a gluten allergy. For her birthday I picked up a gluten free cake here. The next day at work when we ate it, we all thought the cake was awesome! While I was in here, they had several soups in the refrigerator that people were buying and seemed pretty popular. They have a great selection of gluten free groceries. I thought the staff was very friendly. They personalized the cake while I waited, I would highly recommend this bakery to anyone who has to eat gluten free.

This place is AMAZING. I have never had something I was disappointed with. My boyfriend got my birthday cake here for the past 2 years. HIGHLY recommend for all things gluten free.

This place is pretty freakin' awesome! I first discovered this gluten free brand in 2015 when I was visiting a jobsite in Detroit. I had no idea they had a storefront, I searched and searched for more of their items to no avail. Two years later I am back in Detroit for a jobsite and staying in Livonia (seriously don't stay in downtown Detroit, it's not safe!) and I discover I am 2 miles from a store called Rumi's-What was that you say Yelp? Am I in heaven? My first stop the next day after work is Rumi's and I am not at all disappointed in what I find in store. They have a few regular packaged gluten free goods you can get at a grocery store but they carry lot's of items she makes in store and guess what? Most of the items are nightshade free! (that means potato starch free people). I am beyond elated at this point, I buy at least 6-7 packages of different things, jelly coffee cake, jelly filled turnovers, muffins, fruit bars, cheesecake...I went a little crazy yes. But I have never been to a gluten free bakery that has the jelly filled turnovers I oh so miss from my gluten filled days. Everything from here actually has flavor, it's not dry and it doesn't taste like cardboard. I flew home with most of the items and Jason was not disappointed either. We both wished (per the usual) that Kansas City had anything like this. I have now made Rumi's a monthly stop while I am in Detroit for work, hopefully the work with this client keeps rolling in so I can get my monthly gluten free bakery fix. It's worth a stop, even if it's 15 minutes out of your way. Did I mention the prices? I am used to spending at least $40 minimum when I go to a GF bakery, the first time I went and bought everything I mentioned above my total was $24 and some change, I almost asked the girl if she rang everything up correctly. I love the fact that the owner isn't trying to gouge people who were born/inherited an allergy they have ZERO control over. Thank you Owner of Rumi's, you are truly a blessing to the gluten free community. I have also overheard them say they make made to order sandwiches on all days except Tuesday, may be worth checking out.

We had a lovely gluten free, dairy free birthday cake! We got a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and it was amazing. Very happy birthday girl and family!
