Excellent food and vibes. My daughter and I grabbed lunch here and it was A+. We split the calamari and a seaweed salad. Both were excellent. Didn’t intend to split my seaweed salad, but my daughter tried it and loved it. I got the Sashimi lunch special that came with 7pcs, a spicy tuna roll and a bowl of miso soup. It was all extremely tasty and the sushi tasted very fresh. Excellent lunch combo/value. My daughter got the Rainbow roll and loved every bite. She said it “was the best sushi I’ve ever had.” Waiter was very friendly and helpful. Exceptional food and service. We’ll definitely be back!

We had our hearts set on sushi but the fusion of Lao/Thai food they had available knocked my socks off. We ordered the Lao sausage with sticky rice and we had to get another order to go!!!!! Well actually two because we’re greedy. lol The Chirashi bowl was so good! They had me at shrimp head. lol. The papaya salad was perfect. Oh my the Nam Khao!!!! I think among the 10 of us we ordered three of them! The hospitality was above and beyond. Kapp was such a great host/bartender/everything for our group. Overall staff were great and nice! Check this place out yall!!!

I have been twice and this time was able to enjoy their Omakase experience and it was delicious and well worth the price. Not only was the sushi experience fantastic with an expert and creative chef who was friendly and hospitable but their dine menu was also amazing. Aside from the sushi experience we tried their softshell green curry and I wish my stomach was bigger because I was sad I couldn't eat more. Will definitely return soon. Don't sleep on this place!

I love the atmosphere, the service and the serviors were great and nice. The Thai Ice Green Tea is sweet and the Teriyaki Style: Steak Style with half and half of Rice and Lo Mein Noodles was divine. Recommended for dinner. PS: The Teriyaki Style also has Chicken and Salmon options as well.

First time here, mixed experience. This was our first time at this restaurant. There are definitely some positives: Pros: Cozy and small space, which feels welcoming One-page menu- love that! It’s simple and not overwhelming Cocktails were delicious Cons: Unfortunately, there were more downsides, though it’s clear the new owners are really trying, and that’s appreciated. The servers seemed more focused on chatting with each other than on the guests. Our order was entered into the system but then forgotten for a while. The sushi rolls were disappointing. The “special” roll was the same size as the regular one, which doesn’t match the price difference. My rainbow roll was small and even had a fish bone in it. On the bright side, the manager (or maybe the owner) handled the situation very professionally, she took both rolls off the bill and also gave us a free dessert. That gesture really stood out. We might come back again to give it another try.

Overall, very disappointing. I drove out 40 minutes because of the reviews for here were high and spent over $55 for two people with no drinks. The food quality was not worth the price. My chicken katsu was extremely dry with soggy breading. It came with one tiny spoonful of curry poured off to the side and a bunch of big chunks of potatoes and carrots. They were both very bland to the point of me not wanting to finish. Their sushi was good. They have ideas and combinations that you don’t see often which was refreshing. The hamachi kama appetizer took around 30 minutes to come out, then when it did it was tough, fishy, and my partner and I were pulling out scales from our mouthes since they didnt descale the fish for some reason.

My mom had been craving Thai food 🥘, and I was in the mood for sushi 🍣—so when we were looking for a spot to catch up over dinner, we stumbled upon this fusion restaurant not too far from where we were hanging out. Perfect match! They serve both Thai and Japanese cuisines (plus a bit of Vietnamese!), so we were excited. We ordered our favorite Lycheetinis, Nam Khao, papaya salad, spring rolls, pho 🍜, salmon belly sushi, a sashimi combo, the Led Zeppelin roll, and the Slammin’ Salmon roll. Every dish was authentic and absolutely spot on. The service was friendly and attentive 👍, the restaurant was very clean, and the atmosphere was relaxing. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and are so glad we chose this place. Highly recommend it! 😄

The ambience was warm and intimate, the service felt personal, and the plating was pure art—but what really hit home were the flavors. From the crispy Lao Nam Khao, to the comforting Vietnamese Short Rib Pho, the classic Thai Pad Thai, and even the delicate Japanese sushi… everything was, as the cool kids say, straight bussin’. 🔥🍜🍣

When it first open, this place was okay, it was not best or the worst. But now under new management, I can tell you they more heart into the place. The Ramen are gone and replaced with Pho and other Asian noodles dishes. And the pho tasted excellent. The service is excellent, my friend had a two years old boy that made a mess, they were super friendly about it. The decor didn't changed since management changed. I am just happy there is another great Asian restaurant in Ballantyne area.

Go visit now!! My husband and I visited Miku twice in the last 2 weeks, and it's truly amazing. The 1st time we went, I got one of the vegetarian rolls with cream cheese and my husband got the beach boys sushi. We also got a miso soup & edamame which were good. My rolls were good but they were not my favorite. My husband absolutely loved his sushi rolls that he wanted to go back again. The 2nd time we visited, I got the green curry with tofu & my husband got The Beach Boys rolls again. This time, both of our meals were absolutely fantastic! The green curry was sooooooooooo good. I would recommend! Can't wait to be back for the green curry!

Decided to revisit Miku after hearing about the recent shift in management, as I hadn't been there in ages, after enjoying them when they first opened, but then witnessing them slip over time in terms of portion size, value and quality. They are currently working on a new menu which is limited at the moment, but they did say they would be increasing the offerings over time, including bringing back lunch specials, which was a nice option at the original Miku. Started off with Miso soup, as while it is a basic dish, it is also an easy way to begin to separate the pretenders from the contenders. Unfortunately in this case, the natural subtle flavor of the miso was overwhelmed by the presence of an avalanche of green onions, to the point that I didn't eat more than two spoonfuls, the onions were all I could taste. Given that I believe in timely and actionable feedback, I did let them know and they did bring me another serving with no onions, but unfortunately I discovered that onions were simply masking a miso soup that just wasn't to my liking flavor wise, as it was the saltiest miso I had ever tasted, but everyone is different so your taste may vary. As far as the sushi goes, the nigiri was definitely the high point as the fish tasted fresh and of high quality, so kudos there for sure. When it comes to rolls, for me, it's all about substance over style, so the flavor and quality of the fish coupled with the consistency, correct quantity and taste of the rice determines whether a roll does it for me. The one roll I tried was on the smallish side which was typical of the previous Miku and the interior fish was sparse to the point where it was hard to gauge the flavor. The rice was also just kinda eh so overall the roll was there without much flavor or presence. No issues with service as the server was friendly and attentive and did a great job of checking in on me without being intrusive. They also did credit the $3 for the miso, but the $31 bill before tip for 1 sparsely populated roll and 3 single pieces of solid nigiri doesn't provide much of a lunchtime value, given all the various competitors in the marketplace at significantly lower price points for a similar quality lunch. I really want to like this place because it is so close to my house, but I can only do so much grading on a curve for proximity, so until I see a discernible improvement in overall value, I just can't justify a return trip, as the management may be new but there is much improvement that needs to occur before I can honestly say the change was for the better, so to be continued I guess....

This place is super far from the city, but the fish was fresh and tasty. The chirashi does not look like a lot in the 6 individual bowls but it was filling. Comes with miso soup and a salad. Each rice bowl is seasoned. Service was fast as it wasn't too busy on a Tuesday night. Ambiance is chill and relaxing. I will come back again if I'm near the area!

Cute little spot with a really good menu. Had the bulgogi, AC DC roll, crunchy crab roll, tuna toro and salmon belly. The tuna and salmon nigiri is a must.

Really cute restaurant! The fish was fresh and melt in your mouth! Prices were reasonable. We had a party of 9, a lot of sake and food, and the bill only came out to $355. The Tori Karaage: Chicken was moist and soft but the outside was crispy. Mayo was served as a dipping for it Miku Sushi: Usually I'm not a fan of cream cheese in my sushi but this time it wasn't overpowering or made the sushi mushy! I liked it a lot! The sauce used in it was delicious. A sweeter side of sushi Chirashi: HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Each bowl is a different fish and a different flavor profile! Great price! I had such a great time eating here with my son! We went out for "boys night." He loves fish and I had been dying to give this place a try. We were seated in a nice booth right away. The place was nicely decorated with flowers placed in recycled bottles. The whole place had a very comfortable vibe to it. Our sever was super attentive. My water glass was never empty for more than a few minutes! And the food was absolutely delicious. My son loved his butter noodles and insisted that I try it for myself. It was actually really tasty. The sushi was fresh and tasted delicious. We can't wait to come back!

Even though they're under new management, give this place a try! Their sushi is still on point-- super fresh fish, and still offer some things from their old menu. They also have amazing pho--try the beef bone! And Lao dishes--Massaman curry and nam khao were great too! So flavorful! Give this new crew a chance--there's something for every palate; you won't be disappointed!

Great sushi has overtaken my favorite sushi spot from prime fish. I tried the pho as well and it was also delicious and huge! It fed two people with leftovers.

Came with CLT Asian eats to try out a "new to me" restaurant. Super yummy and great service. The chef is super kind and welcoming. Loved the variety of options. Our table ordered a little bit of everything, and had I not stuffed myself ahead of time, I would have grubbed with them. Also, because I'm that person, there's plenty of parking so no need to worry about scrambling. Highly recommend if you're in the south Charlotte area.

Went to check out Miku tonight! We got three speciality rolls including the Panther roll, Salmon Supreme, and the Surf&Turf. We really loved the first two and liked the Surf&Turf just okay. That is my fault as my original thought was I don't love sushi so maybe steak on top would make it better but I ended up LOVING the fish on top more. As steak doesn't go great on top of sushi in my most recent opinion. Definitely recommend the panther roll as it rocked! We will be back soon to try some more.

Miku is an absolute standout and has been a favorite of mine while in the Charlotte area. The warm and inviting ambience strikes the perfect balance -- casual enough for a quick bite after work, yet chic with a suitable aesthetic to set the mood for a date night or girls' night. The sushi is incredibly fresh and delectable; it is very clear that quality is the top priority here. And definitely don't skip out on the bar! Cocktails were amazing and paired perfectly with each meal. What really makes the experience feel special is the personable staff. Service is consistently excellent, exceptionally friendly and attentive. The owners are also incredibly hands-on, which adds such a genuine feel to the dining experience. Whether you're an Asian cuisine connoisseur or just looking for a new spot, Miku hits every mark. Highly recommend!

I don't give this away too easy with sushi places. I'm from NYC where my most favorite sushi places exist and since I've moved here it's the most missed cuisine for me. This place is solidly good. The fish is fresh, service is accommodating and the rolls are amazing. They will accommodate gluten free without crying! I will definitely come back here!

I was in the area, so swung in to check out at least one of their sushi rolls... The roll that I chose was this Crunchy Crab Roll, which included Avocado, Cucumber, Spicy Crab and Shrimp Tempura. The roll tasted surprisingly light and healthy (despite the crunchy Shrimp Tempura!)...which I liked. However, I thought it was also a bit light on flavor (not that spicy either, despite the "Spicy Crab"). The presentation was also a bit of a yawn (sloppy, really...look how loose the rolls look!). Guess I liked, but didn't love it. Still, if I feel like eating light, I may resort to this again. I also had their Edamame on the side...and loved it. Unlike the sushi roll, this veggie was thoroughly flavored...VERY tasty! The place itself was small, but had a sleek, open layout and comfy booths (loved their simple, crisp color motif - light wood and light green)...and the service was pretty good. Overhead music was also cool (though I already forgot what lol), and the A/C was optimal. I've definitely had better sushi rolls elsewhere...but I liked the laid back vibe of this place, and liked it enough to return.

Had a great dinner last night! Sat at the bar and made two new friends who enjoy Asian cuisine as well. The calamari and chicken wings were great. Green curry ordered spicy was very tasty. My wife got the Pad Thai which was served encased in a thin egg casing like higher end restaurants in Thailand do ( think Thipsamai in Bangkok). Enhances the flavor and great presentation. The new owners just took over this week and have a fairly broad menu for a soft opening week. Some rolls brought forward from Kin restaurant and look forward to Kyle's French fries (best in town) being on the menu!

So I found this hidden gem through a foodie instagram page. First thing I realized when I was driving and getting to the place, it was kinda out and far. The territory was unknown to me. The map isn't accurate so I would recommend when you reach the destination, to look at what's around so you can find it. The place is pretty small. I was expecting high end and busy but I went on a weekday and it was pretty slow/empty. The staff are very nice and complimentary. The drink was good and price were good. The menu had a lot of different things on it but mainly a lot of sushi. I love the appetizer I got as I love raw sushi'. Would definitely recommend. The curry was delicious and the portion look big. I think it can be share with another person. I like this place but I wouldn't go again unless I was in the area. It's a little out of the way for me.

Great service. Merger of Miku and the folks from Steak and Kin in Waxhaw. Great martinis. The dumplings and beef pho were on point. Sushi was good did not try sashimi.

Fabulous sushi! We had a wonderful dinner celebrating our anniversary. We sat at the sushi bar and the sushi chef was friendly. We tried the Hawaiian roll and the charred snapper crudo. They were my favorites! Incredible flavors!! Also tried the cherry roll. They had exceptional sushi! Super friendly staff and service! Definitely want to return here again!

Miku is in the old Island Thyme location. They've reupholstered the booths, swapped out the tables & tile on the walls and a very minimalist decor. Let's start w/the tables and being in a booth. They need to swap those out those curved tables may look nice but well what is a solid decor choice is a poor choice for seating. Unless you're sitting where it curves in the tables create a very tight fit where the curve is out. Servers should not be in the bar area w/in ear shot of patrons talking about patrons - restaurant 101 fail!! If an ingredient wasn't listed for one of the rolls and someone can't eat it and didn't figure it out until they ate a piece and asked for it to be taken off the bill, that doesn't mean you go to the sushi bar area and immediately start talking about the patron when they are sitting at the table in front of said bar. It wasn't me it was the table behind us and it was awful. Really enjoyed the Bang Bang shrimp. Wanted a little more dressing on the large garnish which added a bit of lightness. Had the Yellowtail roll and there was a pleasant brightness to it. Really enjoyed the food and we'll be back!

Been loyal customers since the first opening of the original Miku Sushi. Sad to say we've lost one of the more authentic Japanese restaurants in the area. Miku is under new management and everything has changed. Saw the new soft opening menu and recognized it from former Kin Sushi and Steak. Very limited. Now called Miku Asian Restaurant. Miku's new management is former Kin Sushi and Steak (which closed). Had the worst experience at Kin from the food, prices, and service before they closed. Good luck to them.

Had a taste for Hibachi and sushi so decided to stop in for lunch. The restaurant is newly opened so it was bit quiet when we got there around 12 and we were immediately greeted upon entry. This made for a relaxed atmosphere. There is ample seating on both sides of the restaurant, a bar, and outdoor patio seating. They have a nice variation of menu selections including Lunch Bento box options and Sushi lunch specials. We opted for the Teriyaki Strip Steak and Teriyaki Salmon bento boxes. The boxes offer plenty of food with steamed rice, miso soup, ginger salad, and two fried dumplings. We also order the 704 sushi roll. Our salmon and steak were slightly overcooked which we did bring to the waiters attention after we were done. He made sure the let the chef know. I would definitely recommend this new restaurant as a great Japanese style option to get a great meal for your money.

Where to start? My wife and I came in for the first time on a Saturday evening and it was busy but we were seated right away. The restaurant was loud and bustling and our waiter approached us, took our drink order and ran down some features for the evening. We took a few minutes to look over the menu and ordered when he returned. We ordered the baked mussels app to start and I went with the premium omakase nigiri, and an order of Japanese uni. My wife ordered a surf and turf roll and a crunchy crab roll. Here's where things went kind of south. After what seemed like waiting forever for the app to come out...everything came out all at once. I get it...it's busy...but the entire time we felt rushed. We wanted to sit and have a nice meal course by course and boom...here it is. I also never received my miso soup and house salad which I would've liked to enjoy in between the app and mains. I brought it to the waiters attention and when the bill came he discounted it 10% which was a nice thing to do to make up for it.He had a lot of tables and was extremely busy running around the dining room. He did his best but because he had so many tables I feel like the attentiveness wasn't there which again took away from the dining experience. As for the food, we enjoyed it for the most part. The baked mussels were pretty good and my wife really enjoyed her sushi rolls. As far as the nigiri it was a little small and quality wise just a little above average. Based on what I had seen of the pictures on Yelp I had high expectations and it just came up short. The best part of the meal was the Uni...absolutely delicious. It was sweet and creamy...and cheap compared to other restaurants in the area. Based on this visit I would probably go 3.5 stars.

I love coming here for the takoyaki! The lemon tree roll is also to die for. The service is always great especially because I tend to come near closing time but the service has been consistently helpful and friendly. The restaurant is clean and very comfortable for dates and family sushi night. If you haven't been you need to go.

I've only been here once and want to go back to try more. I'm happy there's more sushi spots over this way but I have to say - the rolls are tiny. The maki rolls which are $9/10 are smaller than ones I can get at the grocery store :( Fresh and good tasting but I'm not loving the price. (For reference I'm used to makis being $6-8 and decent size) it is good though!!

Second visit over the weekend. As good as the first time we went but maybe even better. Omakese was a hit and all the sushi was amazing. Favorite again being the Fountain roll.

The Omakase Premium Nigiri was delish! The fish was super fresh and melted in your mouth. It was enough to split between 2 people and they brought us 2 soups and salads. The Fountain Roll was a favorite among our table. Our waiter was fun and upbeat and it was a great place to celebrate Father's Day!

Amazing service! Our server was very attentive and the quality of fish is great for a reasonable price :). Will be coming back more often!!

A new Japanese restaurant opened on Ardrey Kell Road, called Miku. They offer a large menu of sushi and cooked food, making it a great spot to go when you want sushi, but not everyone in your group eats it. Let me be clear, you can absolutely get higher quality sushi elsewhere in Charlotte; however, Miku offers an exceptional value - balancing cost with quality and the experience - plus the hot food menu will appeal to a wide audience. Anyway, I started with 3 shareable plates: The Crispy Tuna was crispy yet tender, and I liked the use of the pepper threads. The Pork Gyoza had great texture - but a little green onion would have perfected them. The Tori Karaage was delicious. The chicken was tender, and coated in a very light and crispy batter. Next up was sushi. I tried the Tuna Tataki Roll, The Crunchy Crab Roll, and the Hawaiian Roll. They were all solid, but my favorite was the Hawaiian - the sweet mango was a perfect compliment to the lobster. I wouldn't call The Premium Nigiri Omakase an omakase, but to get a roll and chefs choice of 12 pieces of nigiri for $35, which included otoro and salmon belly, is an insane value. The Chirasi also felt like a great value for $37. It was good, but it was honestly the presentation that got me. For non-sushi entrees, the Teriyaki Steak was a good choice and came out sizzling on the plate. My favorite dish of the night though was the the Tonkotsu Ramen. The pork chasu was tender and flavorful. The egg was super jammy. And the broth was light and creamy, with delicate citrus notes. It was a very tasty. All in all, the team did a great job. If you want the highest quality available, I'll recommend somewhere else - but if you want a satisfying meal, that will appeal to wide audience, without breaking the bank, you should give Miku a try. : @andrewloves_

Just had lunch here at this new restaurant in The Fountains. Loved loved loved it! Sleek atmosphere, fantastic service, and the food was superb! We had the pork gyuzo, house salad, and seaweed salad for appetizers. Then the crab rolls, spicy tuna, shrimp rolls, salmon nigiri and sashimi platter. The salmon was melt in your mouth, and the sashimi was delicious. This is top notch sushi. The chef is the previous sushi chef from Enzo in the Epicentre. They also had Katzu and Ramen for non sushi loves. And quite a few noodle choices. My 2 year old loved his ramen! They have a full bar, sake menu and outside patio next to a fountain. A great addition to The Fountains and if you like sushi, an absolute must try!

I love everything about this place. I stumbled upon this place online and it has become our favorite sushi place. I live in Rock Hill and don't mind making the 45 minute drive for this delicious food! Service is always great, love that you get a complementary miso soup and salad. My favorite rolls are the lemon tree roll and the surf and turf. The nigiri is delicious and the quality is wonderful. Only complaint is that the nigiri seems to get smaller and smaller but it's still just as delicious. 10/10 recommend.

Maybe it's a better experience in person, but I've ordered delivery from here three times and have been disappointed each time. Three strikes and they're out for me. The food is bland, the fish quality doesn't stand out, and it's overpriced. Why must south Charlotte continue to be plagued with such underwhelming sushi restaurants?

My boyfriend and I discovered Miku, and it has become our favorite hidden gem. The owner/chef and staff consistently deliver top-notch service. The food is a true highlight - always phenomenal and incredibly fresh. During our latest visit, we let the chef curate our experience, and the salmon belly, Maryland crab cake sushi roll, eel, hamachi Kama, and fatty tuna were absolute delights. Miku never fails to impress!

Probably one of the best Sushi (real sushi) restaurants in the Carolinas. The level of Sashimi is out of this world. Chef is a MAESTRO!!

Okay I'm superrrr impressed. Sushi in this area has been LACKING. No one is consistent. I stopped getting sushi takeout for a while because it was constant disappointment everywhere. Just got this for lunch (still eating it) and oh my wow. This is fantastic sushi. THANK YOU. Fountain roll and the Imperial Shrimp roll, just so so good. Rice is perfect, shrimp is PERFECT consistency, avocado tastes so fresh. I mean really just so happy today. I've got my new sushi spot.

Last minute decision to eat here & they accommodated my party of 15 with care. Ordered too much to remember but highly recommend the bangbang shrimp for an appetizer. I had the shoyu ramen, giving it a solid 3.5/5.

Service was professional. We were seated fairly quickly on a Saturday night. The ambiance was warm and intimate. The food was amazing. I was able to enjoy T 2 types of sushi rolls and they accommodated my shellfish allergy.

Eh.The Raman was pretty but not good,Sushi was good though. Service was not great, hosts didnt even ask if I had a reservation, server was very bland and unfriendly.

For a brand new sushi restaurant, we were blown away by how good this place was. We got the veggie gyoza and 4 sushi rolls, all of which were delicious: - Yellowtail ceviche roll: Maybe our favorite roll of the night. The ceviche on top was outstanding. Fresh, citrusy, and a great balance to the fried roll - Crunchy crab roll: Very standard, but still delicious. You can tell their spicy mayo is made fresh and not off the shelf. - Lemontree roll: Such a unique and delicious roll. The lemon zest was an amazing addition. The onions were a little too charred for our liking, but delicious nonetheless. - Garden roll: For a veggie-only roll, we loved this. Crunchy, bright, and fresh veggies and the sweet potato on top was cooked to perfection. - Veggie gyoza: Pretty solid. Loved that there was edamame in each piece. All in all a fantastic takeout sushi spot. Prices are very competitive with other spots in the area too. Will be frequenting very often in the future!

Came here on opening day. Sushi is very fresh and they have ORION BEER. I use to live in Okinawa Japan so when I saw they had Orion beer and sushi I had to try! I will for sure come back. Super fresh sushi and good beer!

Heard good stuff about this new restaurant, so I got curious and decided to drop by for dinner while visiting the neighborhood. Ordered Ceviche & Omakase. Fish was fresh, the salmon belly was rich and delicious. Service and ambiance were superb. Overall had a very pleasant experience here.

The fried calamari was out of this world delicious! The sashimi plate was tasty. All the other food was amazing! The service/servers were incredibly nice & helpful. My husband & I were blown away by the awesome experience! Miku's is a great place. The food came out at a very reasonable pace. We were very impressed! Went for date night tonight! This is another great sushi spot in south charlotte. Food was delicious and staff was great! Will be back!

This place is pretty legit, great selections, fresh and delicious. My go to is the Chirashi, Fire Roll, Miku Roll, and Panther role. Our new go to sushi place close to Weddington. Excellent service and ambiance, you won't be disappointed.

Tried this new restaurant for the first time this past weekend without any expectations. We were pleasantly surprised! The staff was friendly, great sushi menu with unique rolls and cozy atmosphere. The sushi rolls we ordered were excellent-creative and unique from other nearby sushi restaurants. Prices were good as well. We will be back for sure!
