OB Farmers Market - Weds - 4pm
I live fairly close to Newport Avenue where the Market is held, so I tend to stop by at least 2x per month to pick up a few things. I still need to drive there though, so I try to arrive as close to 4pm as possible in order to beat the crowds (long lines), still have daylight, and find parking close by. More often than not, this strategy works to accomplish all of those goals. Usually the things I purchase are food related... a delicious plate of Curry, Greens & Rice from Flavors of East Africa, Banana Pudding from Amapola, a Bao, or a Slice of Pizza... you get the idea. I've also had success buying plants (succulents), freshly cut flowers, fruits & veggies, honey, etc. from various vendors.
The later you arrive, the more crowded it gets... so if you don't mind shopping amongst gawking, slow walkers, and dealing with long lines at the popular spots, - by all means, get there whenever, but if you're like me, and you want to get stuff done rather than lollygag, get there as early as you can to enjoy the market before non-locals, tourists, etc., get there and well, I think you know where I'm going with this.
The OB Farmers Market is so much fun, and I plan on enjoying it for many years to come.
