An amazing and colorful array of food and specialty items. Lots of friendly people and a perfect place for dinner or evening stroll.

Absolutely wonderful market!!! Pretty big but not too big. They have a great variety of vendors. From food, drinks, clothing, jewelry, produce, flowers & more. I bought some delicious African food for supper. Some fresh strawberries to snack on. A coconut sundae for dessert, and a beautiful cactus to bring home. Highly recommend and definitely would go back.

10/10 This is my favorite farmers market in San Diego. I love that it is on Newport Ave so I can enjoy the farmers market and the local businesses. There is a wide variety of vendors to choose from. I suggest coming early for parking or be prepared to walk a little bit. If you can't be happy walking around San Diego I don't think you will be happy any where.

A weekly gathering of hippies from all walks of life, hippy adjacents, and a weird mix of everyone else. The vendors? Just as strange and wonderful. Going down is pretty much a weekly must if you live in the area, and it is hard to argue against it given the sunsets that can happen here. Shirts and shoes optional.

This was a wonderful farmers market and food experience. I've never been because I was just visiting, but they had all kinds of food to eat (from African to burgers and everything in between) and all of the produce and flowers looked to be top notch. Very friendly people and it was just a special atmosphere.

Really great vibes 🌅🌴 Parking was a little tough for sure, but once you get that settled you’re in for a great time. Awesome selection of food, clothes, jewelry, snacks, “snacks”, nicknacks and much more 👌 A must when in San Diego (on a Wednesday). Super friendly vendors, everyone is just having a great time ☮️

The OB Farmers Market is Iconic for its special diverse crowd. This is a great place to find things like Organic Farm Fresh foods, veggies & fruits, wild honey, hot food from other countries, snacks, kettle corn, nuts, salsas, handmade crafts, stones & cbusters, street buskers, and live music towards the end of the market location and time. Occurs every Wednesday and hours vary by Daylight Savings time. I seem to recall summers are 3-7pm, winters begin and earlier. The latter half (West End) of Newport Ave. is blocked off from cars to park. They WILL TOW your car if you're parked there before it's time to set up the market. Very expensive lesson. Bring cash and enjoy the market!

Best market ever! Great place to go on a date, but beware it gets busy and can be overwhelming. May I recommend grabbing food and walking down toward the pier to catch the 🌅

Super duper hippie vibes My card got skimmed so I would pay cash here Wouldn't take my kids here or a large family. Can be really close quarters Lots of thrifting vintage clothes, jewelry, and other items which is fun. Drum circles happening at the beach walk and the food around is good. I came to support a business I really love but besides that I wouldn't come back to this market.

OB Farmers Market - Weds - 4pm I live fairly close to Newport Avenue where the Market is held, so I tend to stop by at least 2x per month to pick up a few things. I still need to drive there though, so I try to arrive as close to 4pm as possible in order to beat the crowds (long lines), still have daylight, and find parking close by. More often than not, this strategy works to accomplish all of those goals. Usually the things I purchase are food related... a delicious plate of Curry, Greens & Rice from Flavors of East Africa, Banana Pudding from Amapola, a Bao, or a Slice of Pizza... you get the idea. I've also had success buying plants (succulents), freshly cut flowers, fruits & veggies, honey, etc. from various vendors. The later you arrive, the more crowded it gets... so if you don't mind shopping amongst gawking, slow walkers, and dealing with long lines at the popular spots, - by all means, get there whenever, but if you're like me, and you want to get stuff done rather than lollygag, get there as early as you can to enjoy the market before non-locals, tourists, etc., get there and well, I think you know where I'm going with this. The OB Farmers Market is so much fun, and I plan on enjoying it for many years to come.

Super cool vibes! We came around 430 ish and wasn't super crazy busy... yet. Lots of vendors and shops. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. We got some feta dips and tzatziki and they were amazing. Didn't love the people on the corners trying to push you to sign up for things as in woman's rights, voting, ect. Lots of people hanging at the beach and near the tree which was festive. I would go there to stock on goodies if I lived nearby, we were visiting from Vegas.

OCEAN BEACH FARMERS MARKET!! This was my first time coming to OB's farmers market, and I absolutely loved the selection of food, desserts, and drinks! There were so much, including flowers and fresh veggies and fruits. The service was honestly quick, it wasn't super busy as people say, lines weren't long either. I came around 6pm, mid evening, so highly recommend coming during sunset time. Parking was street and is free, so get there and get lucky! Everything is pricey, so be ready to spend money!

This has got to be the best market in San Diego. The atmosphere is fun and vibrant, and the sea views are beautiful. They have some of the best market food here! The Ethiopian food is awesome, and there are tons of other vendors too. They have fresh produce, thrifting, desserts, jewelry, plants, etc.

Full of people! Fun times! Just will take a bit to find parking on Wednesdays. Unless you pay for it! Don't forget to pay like we did and we got a $60 parking ticket. Fun vibes and lots of other establishment close by. Some stands have long wait times. Mainly food not farmed goods from what I noticed.

I absolutely love this farmers market. I will say there are not many farm products being sold here, but I could not believe the wide variety of amazing foods and products that they have at this market. I was probably more enamored with the foods and wide selection that they had than the products. There was one guy that sold Thomas and so many different flavors. Maybe some people are not hummus fans, but if you are, I could not believe the huge variety of flavors he had and how good all of them were. I wish I lived closer to come here every Wednesday for his Flavors. They were amazing. My son also bought a vintage coat there for his college for a really affordable price. I cannot get over all the different foods and vendors there. I wish I could go here more often

This was the only farmer's market on my trip to San Diego. I frequent farmer's markets in San Francisco where I live at least twice a week. Good selection of meals to enjoy with unique variety yet the problem was no seating that I saw. I guess folks take it to go or to the beach nearby yet it would be nice to have some seating to eat meals here. Good array of produce and prepared food such as hummus etc.

Easily my favorite farmers market in the area! From brother's hummus, to taste of Africa, and the empanada stand, this market has something for everyone! There are a bunch of trinkets, jewelry, leather goods and other clothes, so I can also to buy gifts for friends and family too. The vendors are friendly, upbeat and personable. This is a Wednesday night staple for me, and you can't beat the beautiful views.

FOOD VENDORS I use to come to OB Farmers Market all the time when I worked at the "bayside" and "seaside" location. It was convenient to get to right after work to kill time from traffic before heading home. Then I stopped coming for many years because I transferred to a different location. I then long forgot about this farmers market and had the urge to come by. Still the same. But much more food vendors. I like the vibe, very chill and although crowded not at all annoying except searching for parking.

Whether you're a San Diego local or just visiting, this market captures the true essence of ocean beach -laid-back, artistic and full of good vibes.

Kinda overrated, except if you can wait in a long line, the African food stall looked the most intriguing and promising. Otherwise if you are just visiting the area with limited time to explore, it's a skippable stop on your tour. Prices seemed pretty comparable to local brick-and-mortar eateries, except without the amenities of such places. Market hours are 4 pm - 8pm on Wednesdays. We arrived mid-way through and found free street parking in the evening just a couple blocks away.

Pork Belly Bao from Little Asian Sliders $6 - (5/5) super juicy, soft bun, warm, filling Posnachos from MyPozole $10 - (5/5) good portion, flavorful, enough of everything, nice presentation Baja Dog from Doggos Gus $8 - (5/5) hot, flavorful, filling Grilled Cheese - (5/5) so cheesy + cheese pull! Poke Plate from Island Life Foods - (5/5) fresh fish and such flavorful macaroni salad Farmers market are always such a fun experience. Most of them are on weekends but this one is every Wednesday. I highly recommend coming here to stroll around and look at different food and other items such as thrifted clothes or jewelry. You can bring cash just in case but I was able to use my card for all the food I bought. This is such a perfect farmers market location because you can just stroll down the same street and admire the Ocean Beach views or walk down the pier! Parking will mainly consist of street parking and can get difficult finding a spot sometimes. If you're looking for a place to sit and eat, I recommend walking down to the beach and trying to find a wall spot because there will be no tables and chairs available unless you dine in one of the food spots.

I don't know why it's called a farmers market when there are about two stalls that sell fresh veggies and the rest are all food stands and jewelry. This is the only farmers market in San Diego that does not offer tables and chairs to sit down, which is nonsense considering that it's mainly a bunch of food stands. They used to have live music, but they stopped that years ago. Also, parking in the spring and summer is almost impossible. Those who say they found easy street parking (the only thing available in OB) came in the winter months. I really hope management changes and it can go back to what it used to be: a true farmers market.

So many food options!! Great to come to grab some food (basically any type of food you could ask for) and check out some of the vendors! One of my absolute FAVORITE dips I have had in my life is sold here - it's from Brothers Products, basically all of their dips are life changing. The downside to this market is that it has become extremely popular. It is honestly hard to walk through and makes the experience a little less enjoyable. They could definitely expand the area that it's set up in.

Crazy variety, classic Ocean Beach vibes and you get to support local vendors. Living in OB, I am so glad that we have one of the best farmer's market in San Diego. I know I'm a little bias but I think a lot of people think the same due to the popularity of this great Wednesday night tradition. From desserts to dinner, local art, organic fruits, vegetables and more. My wife and I try to make this stop one of our date nights every month. The people serving the food have been great and we have yet to come across a grumpy vendor. I love that this market is open during the cooler months, along with our regular amazing SD weather. Come out and enjoy the OB Farmer's Market!

Went to Ocean Beach Farmers Market and had a blast. I would go out of my way to come here. It's all good vibes here and amazing food. Do not skip out on the Elote and Lumpia. Got the Elote from Gina's Tropical Fruits and Lumpia from Gabina's Cuisine & Catering. My friends also got Crepes (can't rmmber name of place) and Lamb & Beef Gyro from Bosnian Grill & Mediterranean Cuisine, all delicious. They are held every Wednesday by the beach. There are a couple blocks blocked off for this. Parking can be tough, you have to just find street parking around the homes. The area where I parked was free but some areas may be paid metered street parking. It gets really crowded so come early and give yourself time to find parking. Everyone is friendly. I love how lively it is. Prices are going to be more expensive but that's expected coming to a farmers market. Definitely a good idea to bring some cash, but a lot of places do take card.

After work I met up with my gf and her sister in OB. We checked out the FM and this was a happy surprise. We checked out a few of the stalls. They were enamored with the intricately designed candles, while I was sampling food. I started with some pork belly. It was so delicious, but it only got my appetite going. I then went for some oysters. They were fresh and so delicious after coming off the grill. Lastly I had an Argentine Sausage Sandwich. It was flavorful and capped off an awesome night.

Loved this farmers market! There are so many food vendors it's hard to decide what to choose for dinner! There were tons of samples and the highlight for me was the super soft pita bread with amazing hummus and other dips. They're located towards the end on the beach side and SO delicious. You could make a meal out of all of their samples. There were quite a few farmers as well and one stand had strawberries to sample that were so sweet and fresh. My daughter settled on a beef tamale which was so good. I saw a ton of people walking around with the African food so that's what I got. My plate was sweet jerk chicken, saffron rice and collard greens. I wasn't a huge fan of the sauce on the chicken, it was a little too sweet and tasted like bbq sauce, but I would definitely get food from this stand again. I can't wait to go back to this farmers market next time I'm in OB.

OB Farmers Market is only a few blocks from the beach and the weather was lovely at the end of summer. I loved the variety of vendors. There are many prepared food choices including American, Japanese, Filipino, Hawaiian, Mexican, and Mediterranean. Drink choices included kombucha, aqua fresca, and tea. There were at least 3 flower vendors. I bought some marigolds which had a rich organge color and a nice scent. Dessert choices included ice cream, cookies, and a bakery. Caked had a booth with lots of cookies to choose from. Chocolate-chipped strawberry cookie. Loved the strawberry flavor and the soft inner cookie contrasting with the crispy outside. Pistachio cookie has a delicious blend of pistachio and white chocolate flavor. Tea Bazaar had a good variety of loose leaf tea available. I bought a bag for $20. Looks like about 4oz. Organic jasmine pearls had a delicious jasmine flavor. Flower vendor had bunches of small roses for $6. Lovely color and rose scent. After I took them home they started blooming. Our kitchen had a lovely scent for the next few days. :-) Strawberries were picked at the peak of ripeness. Loved the aroma and the sweet strawberry flavor. Incredibly juicy. Island Life Foods had plate lunches. I ordered the Da I.G. Plate. I watched as my dinner was grilled. Rice was moist and had what tasted like huli huli sauce drizzled on. Love the flavors from the mild tasting rice and the sweet sauce. Chicken was tender and the huli huli sauce gave a sweet and tangy flavor. Seared tri tip was tender and full beefy flavor while the sauce added sweet and tangy flavors. Puleahu pork ribs were tender and full of flavor. Cali Bread had a variety of bread and cake. Lemon sweet bread reminded me of cake rings I've seen at Vons. Bread was dense but not as dense as a pound cake. I liked the sweet lemon flavor. OB Farmers Market is similar in size to Poway Farmers Market. There are less produce vendors and more jewelry and clothing vendors. I'm a huge fan of Island Life Foods which is only at the OB Farmers Market. I breathe deep the sea air. I take a last look at the palm trees leading to the edge of the sea. I will return.

Fresh uni! Couldn't believe it. Many types of foods available. They had coconut juice for free to pregnant ladies. So thoughtful.

I absolutely loved the Ocean Beach Farmers Market. I love supporting local businesses and they have an abundance (food, produce, jewelry, etc.) at the Farmer's market to support, so much that you can't even get to all of them in one visit. I got a couple of desserts (beignets and bomboloni) as well as a chicken over rice dish and left pretty satisfied. What's a treat is that there are a couple of breweries in the area where you can bring in your own food and grab a drink to enjoy the nice San Diego weather. The only downside is that if you don't live in the area you'll have to uber there because parking is next to none. All in all, though, the Ocean Beach Farmer's Market is such a vibe.

This is a very cool farmers market in Ocean Beach and it's open every Wednesday from 4-8 pm. They are Covid compliant and most people wear masks. I love the watermelon juice vendor when you enter. I bought French macaroons from a vendor named Lacey. She's a doll!! I will be back next week!!

Visiting Ocean Beach for a few days and stumbled onto this pretty cool farmers market Pros: - Lots of things, fresh produce, delicious foods, drinks, art, etc - Fresh veggies fruit. Typical of a Cali farmers market, a great variety of produce, incredibly fresh - Fresh flowers available - Plenty of cooked food, and a wide variety! You could find whatever you were craving from asian to mexican - Plenty of delicious products available as well. I got myself some fresh baked cookies as well as some honey. - The street was blocked off so it felt pretty safe - Bars along the street, so if you were craving a beer you could stop by before slipping back into the market to explore. - Fun for families, groups of friends, and a nice date spot Cons: - I think mostly street parking, which was probably much busier since it was a busy night for that area Would I come again? If I was in the area, yes

Walking around here, you're bound to find a treasure or two. This was my first visit, as a friend mentioned there was live music and vendors out on Wednesdays from 4 to 8pm. Checked it out and I can honestly say it reminded me of Telegraph in Berkeley (if you've been to the bay area, you know)! Of course, it's more laid back here because we're in beautiful San Diego!! The vibe is definitely hippy, but pretty chill and relaxed. Stroll along as you pass some talented musicians. Cruise up and down the sidewalks and on the main street (Newport) when the vendors are set up, and you're bound to stop at some point to check out the various goods. Empanadas, tacos, beer, jewelry, clothing, you name it, it's probably there. I love that there are tons of local businesses and mom & pop shops lining the streets. Support local whenever possible, especially during these trying covid times! =) As we were checking out a few of the vendors, I saw the Peace and Om tent. I'm always on the lookout for gym clothes and there it was. As I got closer, I saw they had some cute leggings and sports bras as well as tanks. They even had kids sizes. I couldn't help myself and grabbed 2 of the cutest leggings, perfect for the upcoming holidays! They also had masks for sale, and I grabbed one of those too. Really good buttery soft leggings (yes, that famous brand that was all the hype for about 2 years, lol) for only $10 each?? Yes please! Ladies, they are SQUAT PROOF, too! The masks were $5 each and they had a variety to choose from. Wish we had arrived a bit earlier, as we didn't get to see a lot, but definitely plan to return and check out the other stuff. I would love to try some of those empanadas, and the octopus tacos. Will be back for sure to try the other bars and eateries. Parking looked as though it could be difficult, but I think there was a lot at the end of the street near the beach. It was dark when we got there so I didn't see how big it was or if there's a fee. We Ubered in so didn't need to worry about it. I highly recommend checking this place out if you're in the area and need a change of scenery. Very diverse with lots to offer!

Really cool farmers market with a wide variety of food! Everything from African food, to Mediterranean, to Latin! Anything you want basically you can find here. Oh course you have your fresh flowers and honey/candles for sale as well. Overall a nice place located 2 blocks from the beach. I decided to go with the chicken over rice and I'm sooooo glad I did. It was so delicious!!! A must try. A bit pricey but hey it's a farmers market. They're always pricey. Also make sure you stop to get a fresh juice from the sugar cane place. Those guys were awesome too! Parking is a nightmare. Get there early and hope you find a spot. Every Wednesday from 4-8pm

This farmers market is amazing!! Lots of food options, some clothing and jewelry stands, and lots of fresh produce. Vendors were all friendly and food was great.

Ocean Beach is a great diverse place where everyone comes together, so expect the same for the Farmers Market. Lots of great items (and personalities). Lots of great food options, fresh produce, and some creative items from vendors that are worth supporting. I'm a sucker for supporting local businesses so I was anxious to stop thru prior to hitting up the festival and beach just down the street. The only downside was due to COVID, so they limited the total number has people in the street area and created a long wait in line (without 6ft of distancing) and it shut down at 8pm. Understandable and the 'new norm'. Managed to pick up quite a few things ranging from tacos, cannoli, chips and salsa, fresh fruit and veggies, and more. Hot foods were a hit for immediate consumption (beach food). Ideal stop on Wednesdays to take advantage.

For a fast food stop its great but SO OVERCROWDED! Way too many dogs to step around or avoid. Not nearly enough produce but plenty of local clothing and handmade jewelry options. Very beachy vibe. Vintage hippie products.

Stumbled upon this market by chance yesterday and had a wonderful time! Vendors: There is a whole street of food vendors lined up with various different offerings from Indian food to empanadas to pizza to elote, I can go on and on. There are so many sweet options too like macaroons, cannolis, beignets, and nutella-filled doughnuts. The vendors are so friendly and were happily offering tons of samples, especially the pita bread and hummus stands. We ended up buying a box of beignets, as well as 2 dips from the hummus stands. Parking: Parking is tight just because it's so busy but that's an indication of how awesome and popular this market is! There's tons of street parking available further away, so be prepared to walk for 10 minutes unless you are okay paying for parking in which case there are plenty of options close by. Overall, this market is a wonderful experience that I would highly recommend bringing your family and friends to! It's right by the beach so you can easily walk down to the pier if you choose and enjoy some time by the water. I will definitely be back to try more of the food!

Hippies, Natural Food, Ethnic Food, Coffee, Street Performers...... Flowers.... And, a Live Band. And, Artists & Crafters, interesting people... This is why I Love to come here and Roam..., & walk straight down the street towards to the Beach & eat the ethnic food I had bought for the day. The African food is my Favoooooorite............ And, the Islander Poke are my Top picks...

There is so much food. All the vendors provide super huge portions and some people don't eat all their food. It's really simple to get free street food here. I dig in the trash receptacle to get all kinds of food...Its always a surprise to see what I find next. Thank u ob farmers market

COVID review: Right now, as a farmers market, I would give OBFM a three. They don't really have a great produce selection. However, as an open-air food court, I would give it a five. If you are hungry for something, chances are you'll find it here. Vegans, rejoice: plenty of options for us including African, Chinese, and Indian. Be sure to check out the hummus and tamales stands, too. Tip: Park near Mike Hess and get a growler to-go. Tip: Check out the adjacent craft stands. Tip: More food and craft vendors are on Abbott Street next to the beach.

Never disappointed by the energy and vibrations of OB. For new San Diego visitors it is an absolute iconic place known for their hippie, shoeless, bohemian funky style, which is perfectly displayed at the farmers market. PLEASE TRY RHE MANGO LASSI from an indian samosas stand it changed my life

Best farmers market in San Diego! The farm vendors are great with fresh produce and flowers. The hot food is even better!!! We tried a variety of things. Definitely recommend a lobster taco tho. It's the MUST of this market! We found parking easily, and we went when it first opened. It gets more challenging past 4 o'clock

There's nothing better than walking to a farmers market after work, grabbing dinner and heading to the beach to watch the sunset. Great variety and really cool vibes. I'll be bringing the girls here soon!

This a really nice farmers market on a blocked off part of Newport Avenue. It brought everybody out on a Wednesday night. It had music, lots of food booths, fresh veggies, some fruits (mostly citrus), and variety of vendors. It was VERY busy with people and doggies.

This is such a cute little market. I liked the variety of vendors that they had. It's definitely a nice place to check out if you're in the area. The lines can get pretty long and parking is quite hard to find.

OB farmer's market is the most lively and exciting farmer's market I've EVER been to by far! They had so much to offer from various international cuisines street food, fresh produce, niche food products, live music, thrifty boutique pop-ups, unique art for sale, and more! The music scene was quite diverse; we heard live artists performing piano jazz, drum circles, guitars, and even a live moving rapper with a hype crew following them! I couldn't believe how many people were out and about enjoying the scene on a Wednesday- it felt like a weekend night! They had everything from a families to young college kids enjoying the ambiance. The diversity gives it a very welcoming, and inclusive feeling. Not to mention, the sunset here by the beach is absolutely gorgeous. Some cons are the parking is competitive, so wear your walking shoes and expect to hunt somewhere far, far away for a parking spot. Also, expect to probably parallel park lol. Lastly, I do not recommend bringing your dog to this place event, because it gets so crowded and chaotic that people may trip over your poor dog by accident. We even saw a skate boarder accidentally run over a dogs paws as he was breezing by (dog was okay, but still not ideal). All in all, I HIGHLY recommend OB farmer's market!! Super fun!!

So I guess it goes without saying that anything less than a sunny day in San Diego scares the people away. There was a fussy dead vibe in the crowd this time around full of pouty shovey types who mouthed off at every bottleneck in the walkway. Even the dogs were grumpy tonight. That being said, the vendors were jacking up their prices to accommodate the lack of business. Yeah yeah yeah I get it. People need to pay rent and eat in planet SoCal but four heirloom tomatoes shouldn't cost $8.00. They better have a mild psychedelic effect for that price! On the other hand, the cheapest deal I found was the best deal of the night... Paul Fernandes and his beautiful jewelry setup with fusion glass art pieces that he sells 3/$10. They are unique and gorgeous and soooooooooo underpriced. Aside from the usual hype (a well-deserved one) taking place at East African food booth, this guy is the underrated flair of the OB Farmers market. You can take your overpriced tomatoes, your chauvanistic bongs, your saris, your CBD dildos, and your gluten-free mouthwash to La Jolla since I'm sure they're down for that hairbrained use of capitalism. Go support Paul Fernandes! That's art!

The OB farmers market is always a fun place to go and wander around while supporting local businesses. When you need to understand is prices might be a little higher but you are cutting out the middle man! It's all about finding good deals and being out with family, friends, and pets!! Vendors do offer food samples so it's kind of like an open air Costco lol most of the vendors are great as they want to to purchase their products but the are not pushy. The main drag Dow Newport is such a great location for the market with a great view of the OB pier and the ocean.

My coastal beach tour guide told me about the Ocean Beach farmer's market. He thought it would be a good way for me to finish the tour. Instead of finishing where we started at Liberty Market, he thought I should finish at Ocean Beach. And I think that was a good idea. The farmer's market had some hummus, gluten-free desserts, and I don't know what else. I didn't buy anything, but I walked by the strip of shops. This part of the world is so unique and strange. It's a hippy area and it doesn't feel like it fits in with everything else. The farmer's market goes from 3:30-7pm or whatever. It's fun to browse and it's festive. It's on Newport Avenue by the pier.

Best place to be on any given Wednesday . A lot of good selection , arts and crafts , music . All that accompanied by a great view of the beach .

I always enjoy this farmer's market! Such delicious food and fun vendors to explore. They have fragrant fresh flowers, plants, live music, and lots of artisans bring their goodies to share. It's a great way to break up the week. There's always something cool to find, and it's a treat to be able to shop local.

We love this farmers market. Came here recently and we had a great experience. I like that they have it on hump day so there's something to look forward to before the weekend. Parking isn't too bad, if you're willing to pay. There's a parking area near the drug store (CVS or Rite Aid?). Street parking can be scarce in OB, especially on the day of the farmers market. I didn't want to waste time driving around looking for parking. With a wide variety of vendors that sell food, produce, art work, crafts, drinks, desserts, and more... there's something for everyone. We ended up getting a barbecue parfait, acai bowls, cupcake pops, and some hummus / dips for home. They even had entertainment; a rock band was playing live. They weren't bad, we enjoyed them. They were playing classic rock. It can get crowded in certain areas of the farmers market, but people are, generally, mindful of personal space and courteous. All in all, it's a nice farmers market and one of our favorite ones in San Diego.

My first time here and I would come back if in the area. They start off in early afternoon and take up a few blocks. Quite a few of the booths were Arts & Crafts type stuff and much of the food is driven by the area: lot of "gluten free" and vegan. I even saw chips made from kale. Much of the regular food was the same. There were several booths selling strawberries, at least three selling their version of flavored hummus. Fresh vegetables were limited as were large assortments of fruits. There were probably five booths with fresh flowers but really nothing special about them. And there were a number of booths selling cooked food anything from BBQ to Indian Food. Having been to several Farmers Markets, this one is just average. Far better than a few but for my money, nothing beats the Farmers Market in Hillcrest. This one is lacking in variety. Just too much of the same thing over and over again. Note: I was really shocked at the lack of any recycling containers. So many of the vendors sell their prepared or cooked foods in recyclable containers which is great, but there is no place to dispose of them properly. There are countless trash containers on the sidewalks lining the market, but not one recyclable container. So sad especially since so many of these people seem to want healthy lifestyles. Just remember, healthy lifestyle also includes recycling. If you're in the area give them a try. Parking is somewhat of a challenge. But I highly recommend trying the market in Hillcrest on the weekends.

This farmer's market isn't as packed as the Little Italy one. And there aren't as many fresh produce vendors. Lots of food tho! Good food! And awesome crafts. It's maybe a block long. Not that much but you don't need that much. It's fun and intimate. There are performers and flowers everywhere! We like to walk over here Wednesday nights and have dinner while catching the sunset. There's always something new to try. It's not shoulder to shoulder so take your time strolling. If you do drive, it's free parking at CVS for 90 min. Option C.
