"Renowned on Zhongshan North Road, this hotel is known for attentive service and complete dining experiences, making it a convenient, comfortable base near the market action." - Hsieh Ming Ling

"Ask to sit at the counter so you can watch the team in front of your eyes prepare every course in the expansive open kitchen. It serves a creative 10+ course tasting menu that changes from time to time, and uses influences from around the world. One standout is white chocolate bread pudding with nitro foie gras – an intriguing contrast of textures and an unusual combination that works; round it out with their rich and fragrant milk tea blend." - Michelin Inspector

"Opened in 1990 (and known from 1993 to 2011 as the Grand Formosa Regent Taipei), the Regent Taipei is no stranger to the rich and famous, having hosted a variety of entertainment luminaries including the Spice Girls, Mariah Carey, Keanu Reeves, and the late Michael Jackson. More recently, the hotel itself played a supporting role in Luc Besson’s Lucy, in which the film’s titular character (played by Scarlett Johansson) begins her journey of mind-expansive mayhem in a Regent room. The hotel’s popularity with the jet set is based on more than just its central location (though that certainly doesn’t hurt). The Regent exudes an air designed to appeal broadly to those accustomed to the finer things . Rooms are well-appointed, though with a subdued, somewhat generic elegance. This aura extends to most of the common areas, such as the lobby and most of the restaurants, which, though beautiful, are not overly possessing of warmth.Luxurious as it is, the Regent lacks a certain intimacy, and may strike some visitors as feeling “expensive yet formulaic.”"

"Chef Jon Yao will be cooking at the Regent in Taipei from December 1 to 10, hosting the LA chef for a ten-day run that brings a young West LA talent to Taiwan." - Matthew Kang
"Fashionistas need not leave this luxury hotel to splurge as its galleria is home to world-class designer stores. All rooms exude classic elegance and corner suites also sport a private terrace. Dining options abound – choose between a steakhouse, Cantonese, Japanese or buffet. Afternoon tea at the atrium lounge Azie is also a delight. Those feeling weary can recharge at the Magnolia spa." - Tablet Hotels
