Calogero's

Had to head out to Naperville to grab my truck from the shop and decided we wanted Italian food for lunch. Quick search and found Calogero's close by with a good rating here on Google. Walked in and the place was mostly kitchen with only seating for maybe 10-12. Menu gave a perfect amount of choices in my opinion. We ordered the Bruschetta, hands down best ive had ever. Thank you chef! Then the Mortadella pizza, perfectly cooked and the flavors all danced together really well. We made it home with a couple slices left and reheated them in a dry pan with a lid on. We topped it with some arugula then were sad we ran out of pizza. Oh dont sleep on the cannoli. We had the pistachio, again fantastic. Grabbed a couple doughnuts (bomboloni) and a fresh loaf of bread on the way out... I hate that I keep finding places so far from home but I am absolutely thrilled with my experience and will be sending friends to check it out. Keep up the great work... we will be back!

2/4/26 update: I guess many people don’t know the difference between a wood fired/Neapolitan vs like tavern style and NY. Google is your friend, people. We have smart phones but no one really uses its features. Calogero’s uses Neapolitan style which is soft and chewy. It’s not supposed to be cracker thin and crispy. We ordered arancini, salsiccia e rapini pizza, and prosciutto & fig pizza. We got a couple mini cannoli’s. It was from a promotion on their social media page. -arancini 5 - these are the best ones I’ve had. We got meat instead of cheese. They are crunchy and filled with meat and risotto. They are a good size for $5 each. -salsiccia e rapini 5 - this one has a little bit of a kick but it’s great. It has Italian fennel sausage, mozzarella, broccoli rabe, pecorino, and basil. -prosciutto & fig 5 - this was a good combination with prosciutto, fig confit, and shaved parm. —————————————————— I finally got a chance to come here. Plenty of parking. Inside there are only 3 tables and 10 seats. Most of the people that come in do carry out. However, I recommend eating here while the food is fresh. Make sure you come on a night where there is seating available. They make wood fire and Sicilian style pizzas. If you’re expecting tavern style or deep dish, you’ll be disappointed. They don’t make that here and I suggest doing your research. Prices are very fair. Service was excellent. We ordered chicken pesto pizza, orecchiette pasta, chocolate chip and pistachio cannoli, and nutella bomboloni. We also tried a couple of the Italian sodas. They were good, less carbonated than the American ones. We also bought a pistachio panettone. These are very popular. -chicken pesto pizza 5 - one of the best tasting pizzas I’ve had here. Thin crust with a focus on the fresh ingredients. I will be returning to try the other kinds. -orecchiette pasta 5 - generous amount of pasta. A lot of flavor, nothing is too salty. -cannoli 5 - it’s firm when you hold it and then crunchy after you take a bite. These are bigger than the other ones I’ve had in Illinois. -bomboloni 5 - this is like a donut. Good amount of filling inside and it’s soft when you eat it.

My friend and I have been looking forward to going here to eat for weeks. We came Saturday afternoon to dine in. We ordered the Bruschetta al Pomodoro and the Bianca Pizza. We chatted with one of the owners, who happens to be such a friendly and sweet woman. Her husband was making all the food and she explained how he loves to bake! She was so welcoming and I felt like we had stepped into a home or kitchen to eat. Once the bruschetta was ready, her husband brought it to the table and we ate. It was delicious and the bread was so fresh! The bread was phenomenal and so delicious! The pizza came soon after and it was just as amazing! The pizza crust was perfect! I couldn’t have asked for a better wood-fired pizza crust! Once we were finished, I went back to the counter to order some dessert to go and to take home for my husband to try. He is from the East Coast and finding good pizza and cannolis are hard to find here. I sent him pictures and he said to get one of everything. So I got 4 different cannolis, 3 different bomboloni, a ciambella and 2 cucidati cookies. Wow! They were beautiful and so amazing!! My favorites were the Nutella bomboloni, the chocolate chip cannoli, and the cucidati cookies! I had never had them before and they completely surprised me because I normally don’t like fig filling. This was definitely a great first time experience with Calogero’s and I will be recommending this place to all my friends and family!

Absolutely love Calogero’s. We moved to the neighbor a few months ago and we were so happy to discovered Calogero’s. It’s our go to spot when we crave pizza. We have tried the Salsiccia Pizza, Diavola pizza and the meat lover pan sicilian and garlic knots, all of them were delicious. The staff and owner are very friendly, highly recommend!

From the food which is great the service is just as good. Their pastries are awesome. We had one of their chocolate and orange panettone. The taste is so good. We had one shipped out to family. Keep doing what you are doing.

Love a good wood fired pizza and nothing beats a great Italian pizza! We came here hoping to reminisce of our time in Naples and it did not disappoint. The margarita pizza and Funghi pizzas were great- soft fresh sourdough crust, yummy tomato sauce, melty cheese. The pizzas were filling but light. It was a small but cozy indoor space but the staff was attentive and checked on us from time to time. We enjoyed and will be back :)

I was finally introduced to this place by my cousin and our friends. The pizza was cooked to perfection. I had the pizza bianco with artichokes. They even offer gluten free crust.The ingredients you can tell are fresh. I felt like inwas back.in Italy. The pasta was amazing and light. You definitely feel at home. If you want fresh authentic Italian Food..come too Calogeros . The owner Salvatore is a gem and takes pride in his cooking. You are missing out if you haven't already been!! Forza Italia

We came here on a Wednesday. Nobody was dining in. The place is not big, with only 4 tables. Most people would just order takeout. You ordered at the counter, and they will bring the food to the table. We ordered the chicken pesto pizza, orecchiette pasta, cannoli, Nutella bomboloni, and Italian sodas. My boyfriend also bought a pistachio panettone, which we haven't tried yet. The pizza was amazing! The pizza is thin, crispy, and has a chewy crust. The pasta was good, but I asked them not to add any chili pepper to it. The cannoli is crunchy and big. I like all the food there. The staff were friendly and nice. I would definitely go back to try the other items on the menu.

Recently, came across this place here and thought will give this a try looking at good reviews. It was a pickup order and we ordered a Sicilian Bianca Pizza, Rigatoni Alla vodka, Aglio e Olio and Nutella Calzone. The rigatoni alla vodka was decent but the rest of the items weren't good. The calzone was burnt , the aglio e olio had no seasonings and tasted like boiled noodles. The pizza was very chewy and dry. Overall, a very disappointing meal. Couldn't take proper pictures as it was a pick up order and we were too hungry to wait and click pictures.

Delicious pizza with fresh ingredients and great flavor combinations! We tried the mushroom, prosciutto and arugula, and one with artichoke and all were delicious! The crust had a nice chew and eat pizza has a ton of flavor! Will definitely come back to try more!

Wife and I found this gem for lunch today. ABSOLUTELY the BEST pizza we've ever had outside of Italy!!! This is going to be our new fav spot, can't wait to try the whole menu.

This pizza place is in the same shopping center as Naperville Fresh and, even though I shop fresh all the time, I've never been here. I'm glad I tried it first my birthday dinner. We ordered 3 different pizzas and an aricini ball. All was very fresh and nicely seasoned. I will be back to try their orange cannoli - I didn't get one because I had birthday cake at home. Only downfall was the lack of dining room. Only 3 tables and I've only seats 2 people. We ended up taking the food home due to this limited seating. Still worth it.

They are the best neighborhood pizza shop nearby. The regular pizzas are great, while they also have 16 inches larger ones for bigger parties

Amazing food and Neapolitan pizza done to perfection! We've been here a few times and it's always been delicious. A great spot for dine in and super convenient for pick up/to go. Definitely add this place to your pizza go-to's.

The arugula salad is delicious and very well priced for the portion. The pepperoni and margherita pizzas were so yummy, too!

Great New York style pizza, Woodford and crispy. Their combinations of flavors are spot on.

Calogeros catered my sisters wedding and let me tell you, not only were they super responsive and on time, the pizza was a hit! The food was great and the service was phenomenal. I will definitely have them cater again!

The Sicilian Style pizza is light and delicious. Amazingly kind people and fresh every time! If you like sweets, the Sicilian Donuts, the banana and strawberry calzone and the cannoli are out of this world. This has been a weekly take out for my family since "finding" this great establishment over the summer.

OMG!!! This place is amazing!!! It has been so difficult for us to find a good Italian restaurant in the area..this ticked all the boxes! It's a small place with maybe 4 tables inside. You order at the counter and you can see them making the pizza which is pretty cool. The pizza is literally the best!!! We got the Pepperoni and inhaled it in minutes. We also got the penne alla vodka pasta...so good! We got the Cannoli for dessert- it was soo light and flavorful! Amazing!

Service was great, you order at the front and they'll bring your food to the table. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We got the burrata salad, the arugula was nice and peppery, the burrata was good, but not as creamy as I prefer but would definitely order again. Maybe ordering some prosciutto on top. We got the mushroom pizza, crust was perfect and mushrooms were nicely done and flavorful. An authentic wood fired pizza, one of the best in north Plainfield/Naperville area. The winner of the evening was the vodka pasta, the sauce was creamy and cheesy. Was so good we wanted to lick the plate. They have a strong carry out business as well. Find this hidden gem and have some great Italian food.

Great Sicilian restaurant with great people. Best of all was the panettone. Best in world! Never had better. It was well worth driving out of my way to have real homemade panettone for the holiday . Thanks!

If there was only a way to leave 100 stars! By far - the best dough I've ever tried! BY FAR! Service - quick and excellent! We had a pickup order and got a few doughnuts. ya'll, you gotta try this! Margarita, Mortadella and Sicilian pizza is what we got! No words to describe how good this place is!

We had to stop in and try this place out because it was recommended by my favorite pizza man, whose opinion I hold in high esteem. The pizza here is very good. The flavor is legit and the portions on the menu are excellent. We had the pepperoni (with hot honey) and the carciofe (artichoke hearts and garlic on white pizza). I wish I could find artichoke hearts in more places. And it's real thin crust wood fired pizza. The people were really nice. Seems like a family run business. There is not much seating, but they come right out and wipe them down quick. And the Sicilian flag logo on the wall matched the Sicilian lemon and orange sodas. The Nutella calzone (with strawberries and bananas and powdered sugar) is unique and delicious. (Was enough for dessert for 4.) Although the filling could be dispersed more evenly. The restaurant business is tough, especially in the first year. I hope they stick around.

Went there after returning from Italy in October and wanting some authentic Italian pizza. It was fantastic! My friend had the Burrata salad and pepperoni pizza..I had the fileti pizza. Everything was fresh and the pizza was cooked perfect. We sat at a table and they brought our food out.. the inside is small, but very cute, with Italian decor. Love all the old pictures on the wall. I ordered spaghetti Aglio e olio to bring home and a Nutella Bombolino to go but ended up having the dessert there while we sat and talked. It was delicious! Will go back again!!!

I recently tried Calagero's Pizza, and it was absolutely phenomenal! Every bite felt like a masterpiece, bursting with authentic taste that reminded me why I love pizza so much. It's clear they put a lot of care into their recipes, and the results speak for themselves--pure deliciousness! That said, I was disappointed to notice an unexpected "LOCAL fee" added to the bill. While I understand businesses may have certain costs to cover, this type of surcharge feels unnecessary and detracts from an otherwise amazing experience. I'd recommend rolling such fees into the menu prices to avoid surprising customers. Overall, Calagero's serves some true pizza but the billing practice just seems shady to me, it's a matter of principal, might or might not ever come back. Pizza is truly 5 stars but the fees are - 2 for me.

We had the sausage pizza and split a salad and it was excellent. East coast style pizza was the right size for 2 hungry people. We also purchased a fresh, out of the oven sourdough bread that they sliced for us. Wonderful Sicilian restsurant. Will definitely come back when in neighborhood.

Sal has a passion for bread-making. Probably the best sourdough round I have had in the country and that includes the countless sourdough bread makers in SF. Pannatone was on-point. Pizzas are fantastic. The Sicilian roots come through ! Bravo!

OMG. What a great addition to this relative pizza desert of the Chicago suburbs! Real deal Neapolitan, beautiful sourdough crust, super hot oven, great ingredients, expert chef. With a little NYC attitude and the wisdom of Calabria. What more can you ask for? And real canolis with actual pistachio. Best you can have outside of Napoli itself. Clearly a family business with a commitment to the right way according to the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana. Can't wait to try every pie. Only thing more I could ask for is a nice corner slice from a square Sicilian pie...my favorite in NY. Get yourselves over to Calogero's immediately!

Pizza crust was not crispy on the bottom but edges were fine. Traditional toppings cheese and sausage were ok. White pizza was better. Not going back when Chicago offers so many other good options. We were visiting from out of town but grew up in Chicago. One of the things we look forward to.

The food was outstanding. We ordered the fungi pizza and vodka sauce pasta. The pizza was great but the paste was some of the best I've ever tasted. Very fresh and flavorful.

On the 15th/ Wednesday I was enjoying my last day with my daughter on her visit and we stopped by next door for some bubble tea, that place didn't have food so I came in here. I was greeted by a gorgeous man with some colored eyes (hello eye candy). I ordered a pizza and took it next door to eat and was blown away! This is some real authentic Italian pizza. I originally only intended to have one slice and my daughter wasn't going to eat, but we ended up eating the whole pizza in that sitting, lol. I'm so glad we stumbled on this place because this will be my go to pizza place now. The art on the wall was really cool also. This pizza is made fresh so I did understand when he said they didn't have single slices but if there was a way to maybe just pick the the top selling pizza to have available in single slices? I live by myself and would be more inclined to go more often if I could get a smaller size. And it would be nice also to have mozzarella sticks or some small side options. But again amazing pizza!! Thank you.

They have the best sourdough bread in town, it's so fresh and delicious! Their pizza is very good too, and everything on the menu looks delicious. It's a small business, and it's better to support than a chain!

The Pontone has changed it used to be the best now it's terrible and small as a cupcake for 40 bucks. It's insane.

This is quite possibly the best pizza in Naperville. My wife thinks it's better than the new place in Downtown Naperville, Mia something? Go and pick it up and get it home quick though.

My husband & I came across a video of Calogero's on YouTube a couple of months ago and we had to come try out their pizza! Drove about 45 mins and it was 100% worth it! We tried their pizza, vodka pasta, arancini and garlic knots! Everything was 10/10. Owner was super friendly and made it a very personable experience even with my crazy kids running around! Also Coming from a Sicilian family loved all the decor! Will definitely be back along with some more of the family!

This is for delivery service only. Please, please, please do not get delivery here. I could tell if it was served in the restaurant it would have been very good. You can always tell by the crust. But delivered this was lower than room temperature - ice cold. I doubt they deliver or use a service that delivers with insulated carriers. I was a bit put off by the overdone burntness of the garlic knots but another photo of them here looks the same, so I guess that's normal.

This is an amazing little pizza place! We love pizza and are always looking for the next best place--well, we found it. The owner is a super-friendly guy and the quality of the pizza is outstanding. We tried the Salsiccia, garlic knots, and a cannoli. The garlic knots were unbelievable- the dough was amazing and had the right blend of oil and garlic. I could have made a meal out of them. The pizza was equally impressive- the right balance of quality ingredients. It even tasted good the next day when we reheated it. Cannolis had pistachios on one end and chocolate chips on the other--perfection. You can tell that they care about their food and we will definitely be back.

DELIVERY REVIEW: Do not EVER order delivery. Your pizza is guaranteed to be cold. They use door dash and the drivers take forever. If the restaurant is going to continue to use door dash they'd be better off to not even offer delivery.

We tried a salad, bruschetta,pizza, tiramisu. Everything was delicious. The owner and staff were welcoming and friendly. Small "homey" space-, felt like eating at nonna's kitchen table. If you are in the area, it is a must try!

Great Neapolitan Pizza and friendly staff. Sal has a true passion for old world Italian pizza, breads and more. Highly recommend you stop by and give them a try!!! They also have a wood fired pizza trailer and catering as well.

You can taste the quality ingredients and the love put into the pizza in the first bite. This little pizza shop in a rather inconspicuous strip mall blew away all expectations. The inside of the shop is beautifully designed with an amazing mural. You can see them baking the pizzas just behind the counter. The fresh sourdough crust is amazing, as are the garlic knots. Kind staff, great food, amazing ingredients; what more could you ask?

Best real Italian wood oven pizza in Naperville. Family owned restaurant super friendly owner. Their hot honey adds the best touch to the pepperoni pizza. Pasta so fresh and delicious. Will definitely be back! Our favorite new pizza restaurant for sure

Very good pizza, we've been ordering for a while now and here I am writing a review to recognize this restaurant and their pizza as one of very good that we had over the years.

I love this place! Owners are very friendly and you can tell they take pride and joy in what they do. Rainbow cookies are the best thing I have ever tasted! I really love that new seasonal items pop up on the menu too. Love the pepperoni with hot honey and the pizza bianca. All delicious and no guilt given the quality of ingredients are high - organic, locally sourced or imported from Italy.

Fantastic pizza and knots! The sourdough is divine. I highly recommend trying this place if you appreciate unique food and authentic charm with flavors that exceed your expectations. Bravo!

Walked into this place with a friend by accident glad we did they have such delicious pizza and dough. Treated us so nicely and they have a great back story and why they wanted to bring quality bread to everyone. Last part that surprised me was they broke bread with us one they where saving they wanted us to try it and they opened it up to do so. Great atmosphere, amazing food, and they care about what you eat. I don't leave reviews often.

Picked up two pies. Real wood fire, you could smell the smoke in the parking lot. More New York than Napoli. Will be going back for sure.

Coming from an Italian... this is authentic Italian food! Very good!! We will definitely be back.
