Noodle Bowl

So this place is very interesting because they mix elements of American and Korean and even Japanese into the food here. Definitely the most authentic Chinese, Cantonese, spot Baton Rouge has seen though not every item is authentic in the menu. Really reminds me of China town, although not perfect, but it’s there. Service was great, they made sure our drinks were full. Kinda funny we had to ask for chopsticks though since the default utensil was forks. Had the spicy fried pork, which was basically the Chinese-Korean tangsuyuk, but only missing the sweet and sour sauce. It was well fried, crispy, and came out piping hot. Covered with a bunch of diced peppers, and was quite affordable for $8. Would like it to be spicier though. The spicy beef salad, which was liangban niurou, was quite good and eaten cold and is a good appetizer with a large portion for $8. Extremely good deal. Also would’ve liked this to be spicier. Rolled beef, which was jiangbing, was also decent and well worth the price of $8 for the large portion. The outside exterior was crisp and textured, but could use some more pickled vegetables or some sort of extra vegetables to contrast and enhance the filling. It definitely needs a dipping sauce of hoisin, or something extra, but I can’t complain for that price and portion. Also ordered the lan zhou beef noodle soup and knife cut noodles. Both were good, especially the texture of the noodles. While the lab zhou beef noodles were excellent, the knife cut noodles were by far my favorite, as well as more filling and more flavorful. The lan Zhou beef noodle soup, for frame of reference, is the Chinese equivalent to Vietnamese pho, so it’s a very clean and light soup. The knife cut noodle soup had a richer flavor, and if you add one scoop of chili oil, it elevates it to another level. The portion size of the noodles in both bowls is generous, with the knife cut noodles being something I would order again and again because of the flavor and how filling it was. Avoid the soup dumplings, xiao long bao, that tasted borderline inedible, and the texture makes it seem like something they pulled out the freezer and steamed, but not the high quality kind of frozen soup dumplings, because these were terrible and probably the most offensive thing I’ve ever eaten at a Chinese spot, and I don’t like to waste food, but I would rather throw it in the trash than eat it. I had to spit it out after one bite. This was nothing at all like xiao long bao. It was probably microwaved because the texture was tough too. All in all, very good value and some excellent options to eat here. While not everything might be to the same level as the knife cut noodles, it is worth it to come here and try the food. Definitely coming here again, or ordering delivery.

Grateful to have handpulled noodles in Baton Rouge! I was so excited to try this authentic Chinese noodle spot. We received the cucumber dish, but was surprised to see it was peeled, and the cucumbers were soggy from being premade. When made fresh, it can be quick and absolutely delicious. My dish was yummy and authentically made noodles and beef broth, but my partner’s was a tomato-based soup was not authentic and had short-cuts to make it a more tomato in flavor when simple authentic tomato broth is the way to enjoy this dish. We were sad to see it wasn’t fully authentic in Chinese food, as it is in the hard working staff in the kitchen, servers and the owner we suspected that was working outside with care. BUT I hope this review will reach the owner to not trade in authenticity and will improve the dishes. I’d be happy come back periodically to update my review if the dishes improve.

Food was so good I forgot to take pictures of my soup before eating. The food didn’t come out the same time and the soup came out first, not a big deal because we were sharing. They give big portions for the price of the food. We got the Lan Zhou Beef noodle soup, the Mongolian beef stir fried noodles, and the Xiao Long Bao. The bao did take a little longer than the food to come out so I would order that first next time. Also the noodles are hand pulled and they are phenomenal.

Good place to get authentic Chinese food in Baton Rouge. Coming from Seattle it’s not the same however it’s one of the few places you can get these type of dishes. A little bit oily for the noodles and I wish the hand cut noodles were a bit more chewy and thicker. Overall good flavor and taste, I’d come back.

I wanted to give this place more stars but my dissatisfaction with most of my pick-up orders reflects my review. First, my spring rolls were lukewarm and soggy. Same with the egg rolls, lukewarm, but it lacked a crispy, outside texture. Steamed pork dumplings were lukewarm and pork lacked a robust flavor. Not even the dipping sauce could save it. The kid's fried rice was surprisingly good and hot. The only thing that I enjoyed. Being that this place is new, I'm assuming it's still getting it's bearings. However, I don't believe I would drive to this location to bypass other Chinese restaurants, established and new, that are more palatable and have more attention to detail. The fact that most of my food items were lukewarm and rubbery, and the fact I picked up less than 45 minutes, is not a review that I wish to give but hope it serves a feedback to improve.

Great new neighborhood noodle spot that we will be visiting regularly! They’ve only been open a few days, but the rhythm is already rolling. Everything was fresh and delicious. The server was a lovely young woman—informative, friendly, and attentive. The place was spotless and the decor is light and airy. My husband and I ordered pork dumplings, egg rolls, and chicken fried rice to share. I got the spicy noodle soup; he had Mongolian beef noodles. My favorite part was being able to watch a chef literally hand pull noodles through the glass window. My only recommendation right now is to switch from disposable chop sticks for dine in customers to match the quality plates and glasses. See you soon, Noodle Bowl!

So glad they finally opened, I'd been not so patiently waiting. I'm so glad we stopped in. Delicious and fresh. The appetizer, fried calamari was served differently from what we've had before. It was severed with greens and peppers like a salad. My spicy seafood pho bowl and loaded and filling. We will definitely be returning and recommending them to anyone looking for some tasty noodles

Overall enjoyed our experience here! Food was decent bit I wished the noodle bowl had more spice. I added some chill oil there was at the table and it significantly improved the flavor. Service and atmosphere were just decent but not standout. The prices were reasonable, though I wished it wasn't an extra charge to add tofu to the vegetable dishes. Would come back!

We were so excited to try this place out! It did not disappoint! There were 5 adults and we had a little bit of everything. The soups were very flavorful. Meats are tender and delicious. The hand pulled noodles are just amazing! I highly encourage you to try them. The hibachi plate was huge. The chicken was so tender and flavorful. The rolling beef was new for us and it will def be a regular item we order. Absolutely fantastic! The service was superb, they even package up your leftovers! Such a nice touch.

I may have gone on an off day based on the reviews so I'll update if my feelings change on my next visit. The service was great from the gentlemen who filled in after our original waitress went to do another task. But the food didn't match for us. First the pictures don't look like the food that is presented. My hubs noodle dish had no flavor like it was presented on the picture. They had no issues taking it back and he was asked for his feedback on the dish. The hibachi dish was good but the rice was gummy. The chicken wings had very light seasoning. I will return to order different things to see if it was just an off day.

Drove past this place and thought to try it. It opened a few months ago from the summer apparently(?). The menu has the basic Asian dishes like noodle soup, pad Thai, and soup dumplings. However, when we went, they ran out of soup dumplings :(. I wound up getting the beef tomato noodle soup, but it was mid. I feel like there was some flavor lacking. You order at the front desk and they bring it to your table. Free parking in the lot.

Got food to go...let me say this,the place is neat and immaculate. People super friendly. We ordered dumplings,egg rolls and rock shrimp as appetizers,we didn't get the shrimp they gave us crab rangoons instead. The apps were just ok,ive had way better,just down the street as a matter of fact. So why 5 stars when the order was wrong and the apps just ok? Because the Mongolian beef stir fry noodles was the best,the noodles were perfect and ive never had beef that tender. I got the garlic shrimp noodles,same thing.The seasoning was spicy and the heat level was on point,we will go again,you must try this place! Sorry can't say enough about that beef!

This meal was a 10/10! The soups were rich with flavor and the buns were absolutely to die for! The only thing that would make this meal better would be if it was cold out! Can't wait to come back soon and try some other items :)

I was excited to check out this new spot. When I visited for dinner, the AC was unfortunately out, so it was a bit warm inside - but still manageable. I ordered the Lan Zhou Beef Noodle Soup and enjoyed it, especially the flavorful broth. Plus, the noodle was chewy. The service was friendly and attentive. However, it felt like the team was still finding its rhythm. I'm looking forward to seeing how they grow.

Food is amazing. Place is new and clean. The service was good with real culture. Small language barrier but good.

Tried Noodle Bowl on Sherwood Forest today. Loved. The Hibachi chicken and shrimp were perfect. (enough for two people ) The fried dumpling were excellent. The spring rolls were our least favorite. Not much flavor. Definitely will go back to try the noodles and the bowls. Sevice was excellent. Very clean and comfortable

This was my second time this week returning to Noodle Bowl. The food here is quality. Come in early or they might just run out of food. We came in during peak lunch and were immediately welcomed and sat. The manager/owner really cares about all the details of fast service, table touches, and she is always on the look out for anyone that needs anything. I ordered the fried calamari, shrimp and pork wontons (unpictured), shanxi knife sliced noodle soup (if you do not like spicy you will not like this dish) I loved it though, and the lan zhou beef noodle soup (similar to pho). Everything was delicious. I will say our server was a bit flustered and I found myself looking for him often, however it was peak lunchtime. Lastly, wear shorts, it's warm and hot soup will really heat you up. 10/10 would recommend

Great, fresh food with large portions! The Mongolian beef had a kick of spice. The garlic shrimp had a hint of sweetness.

Absolutely fantastic noodles! The Lan Zhou beef noodle soup and the hot and spicy noodle soup were perfect in every way. The broth in both soups are seasoned and built perfectly with lots of nuanced flavor. The spicy sauce is a great blend of tingly chili heat as well as a bit of numbing Szechuan pepper that is noticiable but not over powering. The noodles are outstanding! Chewy but tender and a perfect noodle to broth ratio. Soups come out fairly quickly too. I'm just really happy that we have this kind of place in town. I've been here 3 times in the past week so check it out!

I had the Hibachi shrimp and chicken and the seafood noodle bowl!!!! I ordered to go. The cashier was super sweet and nice and allowed me to look over the menu and not feel rushed. 10/10 I would recommend.

*** Poor Soft Opening *** I have to say upfront at this restaurant has only recently opened within the last couple of weeks so they are going through their soft opening and have a lot of adjustments to make. Please keep that in mind when you read my review. First off it's the height of Summer and temperatures outside are 97°, with feel like temperature over 100°. Air conditioning in the dining area was on the warm side and not entirely pleasant to eat in, especially considering that all menu items are hot. I did have a very nice waitress, but I could tell she was new at table service. She checked on me several times which was appreciated. However, once she brought me the menu and I asked her about the various ramen bowls and which one had the more Rich tasting broth, she first suggested the seafood ramen - when I said I wasn't in the mood for seafood today, and asked for another recommendation she then suggested the tomato based ramen with brisket. Now a tomato based ramen is an oddity to me, but I decided to be adventurous and go with what the waitress recommended. I also asked if they had a small side serving of their fried rice to use as an appetizer instead of spring rolls, but they only had a kid size portion of chicken fried rice which is what I ordered. The waitress brought the fried rice first. On the good side the fried rice did have a nice little crunch to it from being on the hibachi grill, but it was a little on the oily side and although generous with the pieces of chicken per the portion size, it contained no egg or vegetables and very bland. The ramen bowl was brought next. The portion size of the bowl was generous (similar to hikari ramen) but everything else with the bowl was just so wrong. The first half inch of what should have been some kind of broth with tomatoes was nothing but oily grease!! I had to ask the waitress to bring me a small bowl with a regular spoon so I could attempt to skim off all the oil floating at the top of the bowl (see attached picture of small bowl nearly full of oil skimmed out of the ramen bowl) - yuck The size of the ramen noodles were a little thick for my personal taste, and the quantity of noodles to broth were a little on the heavy side. Mind you I don't mind a lot of noodles because that's what fills you up, but this was almost as thick as spaghetti noodles. I really only had a few bites of the ramen bowl and took the rest home. Hoping that once it cools in my refrigerator I could skim off the rest of the grease an attempt to at least taste what the broth base was like. With the amount of oil in the liquid, literally all I could taste was grease. The only redeeming quality of this particular tomato/brisket ramen bowl was that the brisket was tender. Now...did they cook the brisket and keep all of the drippings to mix in with the broth? If so, the chef needs develop true noodle broth separately from cooking the meats and learn how to balance seasoning with robust unami flavoring, and not let the grease from whatever protein was cooked overtake the entire noodle bowl. When the waitress came back to bring me the check I DID ask her whether or not she had ever tasted this particular tomato/brisket noodle bowl. She advised that she had not , that she had tasted the seafood ramen and another flavor. Again...this was a pure giveaway that she is new at table service. An experienced waitress would NEVER make a recommendation to a customer of a dish that they had not tasted themselves. However, I blame the management for not properly training their new waitresses AND not having proper menu tastings for all their service staff. I've worked in the hospitality business for years. For a restaurant to truly succeed, ALL wait staff not only need to be trained on how to bring food out and collect money, but they need to have an actual tasting prepared by the chef of EVERY DISH on the menu. Typically this is done on a day that they are closed, or the staff comes in early a couple of hours before the restaurant opens with the chef having prepared some of the dishes for everyone to taste. Sometimes this can take a couple of days depending on how broad the menu is, but it is only wise and prudent for management to do this. ONLY THEN can the wait staff truly provide recommendations to their clientele and answer questions customers will have regarding how something tastes and/or how it's prepared. I really love ramen soup, so even though this was an epic fail today - I'll give them a couple of more weeks (or months) to work out these problems and clean up their recipes with the hope to get a better ramen bowl from them in the future.

In-house hand-pulled noodle bowls. Different tolerances for heat. Great service. The cold bowls are a perfect summer dish! Had the sour spicy bowl. If you don't like spicy go for a milder bowl. Portions are generous.

Amazing, fresh noodle bowls. Deliciously seasoned and spicy without being overpowering plus - all fresh ingredients!

We really enjoyed the food, the lack of AC and drink menu brought it from a 5 to 4. Details: - pan fried dumplings (5/5) - my kids loved them and rated them. - calamari (5/5) - this was spicy but probably my favorite thing that we had. The calamari was in a French fry shape and amazing. - Mongolian beef stir fry (5/5) - this was really tasty, it felt like it had a tad too much sauce but I'd rather that than dry. I would absolutely order it again. The waitress recommended it. - chicken pad thai (4/5) - this was pretty sweet at first so my husband added so chili oil and that made it so much better. He said he would definitely order it again (and he cleaned the plate). - hot and spicy handpulled soup (3/5) - my son ordered this (removed the veggies) and he liked the noodles but didn't seem to be a fan of the rest. I will say that we love spicy but this heat hit in the back of the throat a bit much, probably wouldn't order it again. - kids noodle bowl/soup (5/5) - my other son gave this a 5 but I thought it tasted pretty bland. Then again, if the kid is happy, mom is happy! Will order again. One note, it comes with some sliced beef and that isn't noted on the menu. - eggrolls (4/5) - don't have a picture but these were ok. - service: the waitress was very sweet and did a great job being attentive and explanatory. - environment: they are cooling the place with 2 porta-cool things and it did NOT keep up with the Baton Rouge heat, I was sweaty by the end which took away from the experience. Overall, would come again!

food was great. it had an interesting spice to it kinda felt like my tastebuds were being burnt off. i wouldnt recommend the cucumber salad but i would everything else. the mongolian stir fry noodles were 10/10. service was okay, she was very friendly but only took our food, refilled our drinks, and gave us the bill. didn't really check on us throughout the time we were there. the restaurant was clean and there was a glass window where you could see them making the noodles. the noodles were good and chewing, definitely could tell they were fresh and handmade.

The best is to try it yourself. We have different taste and preferences. Xialong bao is not what I expected
