The menu is very limited; that said, the food is barely ok. The best part of the meal was the butter that came with the focaccia!
The focaccia was dry and hard.
The courgette and home made ricotta was well presented but lacked in flavour. Deep fried courgette is always good but didn’t really go with the ricotta and surely the citrus segment didn’t go well in the dish.
The bavette steak was ok, a bit tough but cooked properly. The spinach purée was horrendous! The bream was fine. Chips were good so was the bernaise sauce.
As I said the food was ok but nothing special.
Service, on the other hand, was appalling.
We were completely forgotten, to the point where someone dropped the dessert menu and no one came to take the order. We waited close to 20 minutes for someone to come back to the table and that was after we flagged them!
What a shame. Especially considering the restaurant was not full and there were plenty staff gathering around.
The decor of the restaurant is quirky but needs a good clean as there were plenty cobwebs hanging from the decorations in the ceiling. The extractor in the kitchen is either not working properly or not good enough as the restaurant got full of smoke from the grill.
I love the concept of farm to table but this place needs work, both on the menu and the staff training. I felt the staff were arrogant and not hospitable at all.
