Piccola Trattoria

We had a fantastic dinner at Piccola Trattoria. The food was really good across the board, and you can tell they use very fresh ingredients. ​What we ordered: ​The Pizza: We had the Mediterranea, and it was spectacular. It’s topped with a generous amount of calamari, shrimp, clams, mussels, and scallops. The crust had a perfect char, and the fresh arugula on top added a nice bite. ​The Soups: We tried both the Zuppa di Granoturco (a velvety, sweet corn purée) and a classic Minestrone. The minestrone was light, healthy, and packed with perfectly chopped garden vegetables—exactly what you want in an authentic Italian soup. ​Salmone alla Griglia: The salmon was cooked perfectly and paired with a rich Marsala wine and mushroom sauce that was delicious. The mashed potatoes were smooth and the side of veggies was a great addition. ​Overall Experience: The atmosphere is cozy and the service was great. They also start you off with excellent crusty bread and fresh parmesan. It’s a wonderful spot for a high-quality, authentic meal. I’ll definitely be returning!

The Atmosphere & Service The restaurant is incredibly accommodating for large groups, making it an ideal choice for celebrations or family gatherings. What truly stands out, however, is the great service. The staff is attentive and professional, ensuring the evening flows perfectly. Drinks & Starters We kicked things off with their cocktail menu, and "amazing" is an understatement. They are expertly crafted and balanced, setting a high bar for the rest of the meal. The Main Course The food quality here is excellent across the board. While the flavors are sophisticated, the portion sizes are great for one person, leaving you feeling perfectly satisfied. Our table sampled several highlights: • Lamb Chops: Tender, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. • Salmon: Freshly prepared and flaky, showcasing the kitchen’s commitment to quality. • Shrimp Ravioli: A delicate and flavorful standout that pasta lovers will adore. The Grand Finale Whatever you do, save room for dessert. The cheesecake was absolutely awesome—creamy, decadent, and the ideal finishing touch. Verdict: Piccola Trattoria is a top-tier destination for Santa Clarita locals and visitors alike. With excellent food, great portions, and an stress-free parking situation, it is a quintessential Italian dining experience.

Came here. Spent over $300. The ravioli was 100% frozen and the shrimp was over cooked. Then the entire restaurant started closing up, cleaning up, turned off the music and put up all the chairs around 8:30pm. We had half a bottle of wine left and it was incredibly uncomfortable. We were forced to leave when they propped open the door directly next to our table on one of the coldest nights of this year (11/16/25) and started emptying trash. We left the last of our $50 bottle on the table and took the hint to leave BEFORE 9pm. I am so embarrassed that I recommended this place and I am so annoyed that we paid so much money for frozen food. OH and totally raw dough in the dessert. Not molten. Raw dough. Go anywhere else.

If I could give negative stars, I would. The food was extremely disappointing. I ordered the veal parm and it was clearly microwaved—poor quality meat, rubbery, and unpleasant. I took one bite and couldn’t eat any more. The pasta was just okay, with unseasoned tomato sauce. For the price, the food was absolutely not worth it. Desserts were also a miss: the cheesecake tasted more like key lime pie, and the crème brûlée oddly had a banana flavor. Pros: The service itself was good. Cons: Despite having a reservation, we still waited about 15 minutes to be seated. Parking is valet-only, which is inconvenient. Overall, overpriced and disappointing. I would not return. This was especially surprising since I love Piccola Osteria and have had great experiences at that location.

I’ve been coming here for 2 years and the staff is beyond excellent. The service alone would’ve made this a great experience, but the food took it to another level. Everything we order here is delightful and we love their fish. I bring my family/ friends here EVERY time they visit and it’s my go to place for dinner. On top of that, the space itself is beautiful—warm, inviting, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to slow down and actually enjoy your meal. It’s perfect for a date night, a celebration, or just a great dinner out. Hands down one of those places you immediately want to come back to—and recommend to everyone you know. I am here about 2-3 times a month and it’s ALWAYS money well spent.

Food was really good. Good options of cocktails and the service was really friendly and nice.

We loved all the appetizers we had - calamari, mussels and eggplant parmigiana. They’re all amazingly delicious! The lamb was fabulous as well. Lasagna and pepperoni pizza were ok. The NY steak was disappointing. We ordered medium rare but it came out medium (too cooked for our liking) and was “swimming” in balsamic sauce, but appreciate the generous serving of arugula salad. We dined to celebrate my husband and daughter’s birthday, there was complimentary cannoli with birthday candle. That was a sweet touch! Service was amazing and all the waiters are attentive.

Limited to non-existent free parking. Valet only, which is rare in Santa Clarita. Nice restaurant inside and it would be good for a date night. Friendly service. Great presentation. Not the best Italian I have ever had, but it wasn't bad at all. I had the pumpkin and ricotta ravioli and it was a bit bland to me. A little pepper and a dash of salt helped it a bit. My wife had the bolognese and it was better. Next time, I will try the ossobucco, a rack of lamb or veal. We had a cannoli for dessert, and we could not break it with the dessert spoon we were given, but it tasted good. I would say to give it a try and see for yourself. I miss my old Italian place in North Hollywood called Spumante.
