Chapslee

Staying at Chapslee has been marvelous! The charm of this royal family house is amazing. Warmly welcomed by the owner who explained us the whole history of Shimla and the house, we experienced 2 types of rooms, Deluxe and Suite and both were delicious. The rooms furniture's, the very comfortable beds, the good bathroom, all made with beautiful wood and decorated in perfect British Raj and Royal styler were a pleasure for the eye and for a beautiful stay. Delicious dinner (to be taken absolutely in house) and super friendly staff made us feel at home in a perfect location. We would come again and again to stay at Chapslee!

What a place! If you want to be transported to an era nearly 200 years back, this is the place to go to. The decor, style and grandeur evoke a sense of nostalgia and transport you to a forgotten era! The food is sublime and the service extraordinary, something that isn't available at even the finest dining establishments today! An absolute must visit!

A most brilliant stay at this very historical establishment with links to the British rule. The owners and staff made us feel very welcome with the food of the highest standard. A stay here is like stepping back in time. It’s location to all the must see things to do in Shimla is perfect. Highly recommend a stay here.

I enjoyed my stay at Chapslee Hotel. Hotel is beautiful and food is delicious. They provide excellent hospitality. Staff at the hotel is always there to help you whenever you need. I would certainly recommend it to family and friends going to Shimla.

Where to start when describing a stay at Chapslee? It is quite unique, unlike anywhere I have stayed before. This is not a hotel, it is a home. A home with a glorious history and interiors to match. You are welcomed by the staff as if you are a returning friend & treated as such throughout your stay.|If sleek & sterile interiors are more your thing then this is not the place for you. Chapslee is full to the brim of priceless antiques and objets d’art from around the globe, all of which help to embellish the story of the house & its many inhabitants. |There are only 5 rooms but during our 3 night stay we were the sole guests (the owners have their own quarters also) You are looked after by a warm, friendly staff who leave you wanting for nothing. The owner joined us for tea one afternoon & gave us a tour of the house he was born & grew up in.|Chapslee is only a 10 minute walk into town where you will find shops, restaurants & bars galore but dinner at Chapslee was delicious so I would recommend doing that too.|All in all, a stay at Chapslee is something I promise will live in your memory forever.

Absolutely fabulous Boutique Hotel in Shimla ,India with true British Colonial Ambience. Personally greeted by The present owner’s Son ! |Our Maharaja Suite a true classic with a four poster bed and all amenities . Tea (Chai) served in authentic China crockery.|Dinner served with authentic silverware!|Manageress Alpa welcomed us with grace and pomp!|All Staff in smartly dressed attire and extremely obliging !|Set in Shimla hills and ten minutes walking distance do the mail square.|A truly memorable stay.|Highly recommended for a peaceful stay|👍🙏

What a wonderful place! We absolutely loved Shimla but Chapslee made our our time there incredibly special. Everything is pretty much perfect, from the beautiful bedrooms, the shared spaces in the house, the excellent food and the friendly and incredibly attentive staff. It was great to spend some time with the owner after dinner one evening who talked us through the history of Shimla and Chapslee. Not sure they could improve on anything - it was perfect. We’d love to return one day.
