The 12 Must-Visit Restaurants in St. Pete-Clearwater | Eater

"St. Petersburg’s coastal location makes it perfect for a Mediterranean-Aegean restaurant, and Allelo brings the exact vibe. Fashionable outdoor dining and a decadently designed interior are just part of the charm, and when paired with the restaurant’s seafood specialties, you’ll feel like you’re dining on a Greek island. The restaurant’s location, along Beach Drive and bayfront North Straub Park, adds to the allure. Entrees like seafood linguine, branzino, and an extensive raw bar are the highlights, but be sure to get some items off the “For The Table” menu to share." - Stephen Rubino

Tonight was my first visit to Allelo on Beach Drive in St. Pete. We didn’t have a reservation but were lucky to get seats at the bar around 7 p.m. They mentioned they were fully booked, though we did notice a few tables open both when we arrived and when we left. Still, we ended up having a great time at the bar! The female bartender was pretty friendly and attentive, and the bar back (a male) was busy helping with table and silverware setup ~ both were good. We ordered the Baby Gem Salad, Mussels in a delicious tomato sauce, and the Cocktail Shrimp, which were all fantastic. The cocktails were unique and interestingly crafted. The espresso martini had an interesting twist ~ a subtle touch of amaro that gave it depth. The lemon drop martini was made with their house lemonade, which gave it a refreshing and slightly unexpected flavor. My friend ordered the Aperol Spritz and really enjoyed it too. It was a bit loud inside, so next time I’ll definitely ask to sit outside, especially in this beautiful weather. The restaurant has a charming patio right on Beach Drive, a cozy bar area, and another smaller dining room to the right as you walk in. The space is beautifully decorated, with a hand-painted mural of birds by a local artist. They even provided a list so guests can learn about each bird featured on the wall ~ a thoughtful touch! I’m surprised it took me this long to visit, especially since I consider myself quite the foodie. Allelo has been open for 5 years, and after tonight, I can definitely say I’ll be back soon!

I always love coming to Allelo, and most recently stopped by for brunch to celebrate a friend's birthday. This restaurant is beautiful inside and out, from the bathroom wallpaper to the gorgeous views. My friends and I ordered: Neuske Thick Cut Bacon, Ricotta Soft Scramble, Papas Bravas, Turkish Eggs, and Olive Oil Pancakes, with That's Me Espresso (Espresso martinis) to drink. We could have ordered the family-style brunch, but decided we wanted more variety. The seasonal pastries our server helped order were the stars of the brunch. It surprised us all, especially with how it was not too sweet.. just the perfect amount! Will be back for the olive oil pancakes and deviled eggs, for sure!

We enjoyed our dishes and would highly recommend the meatballs (some of the best we’ve had) and the octopus. The mussels and focaccia were good as well. Good selection for white wine which we really appreciate. Our server was exceptionally attentive: he brought over a soda-water mixture when one of us got sauce on a shirt, and he immediately removed the wine from the table, and from the bill, when we mentioned that we didn’t particularly like it. No questions asked. Amazing. Just want to add that the other wine that we picked was excellent. The branzino was superbly done, and at full size, even our table of four couldn’t finish it. I also cannot say enough good things about their Cacio e Pepe. I hope they keep it on their upcoming menu because we’re already planning to go back, and I can’t wait to have the best Cacio e Pepe I’ve tasted. Furthermore, they will do everything they would to accommodate dietary restrictions. Our servers made sure the dishes were gluten free to the extent possible. Very impressed by their effort and attentiveness.

We went there on Sunday morning for brunch and sat outside and it was lovely. The whole zone is very nice, the restaurant has a chicche vibe, view of the water and a yummy brunch menu. It’s a Mediterranean-European fusion. We had the Shakshouka and Turkish Deviled Eggs and some orange juice and paid about $65 with tip.

Google
The food is superb. Had the shrimp or Gambas, and the Wagu NY steak. The Sangria was delicious, and the Baklava cheesecake to die for. Everyone were pretty knowledgeable of the menu. Great service and food. Can't go wrong here. A++

Google
I have been several times and every meal has been consistent, fresh, and delicious. The service is always wonderful. Their brunch is great for friends and family to have a taste of everything. Definitely worth a visit.

Now this place is amazing. I went for brunch and ordered a number of items. The Olive Oil Pancakes were extremely light and fluffy as well as not overly sweet. Contrary to its name, the olive oil was not overpowering and the jam added a nice touch. Neuske Thick Cut Bacon straight from the farm. I am not a huge pork eater because of the taste, but the bacon here tasted fresh. Turkish Eggs, dip like dish with the ever so soft pita bread = 😋. Ricotta Soft Scramble with fresh ricotta, chives, and pita were fluffy, light, creamy, and flavorful. My mocktail was also great. It was more of a craft style mocktail rather than juice and a splash of soda water. This is my new go-to spot when I take the drive to visit St. Pete.

Google
Came to St. Pete for a day and chose to end it on a high note, at Allelo. Beautiful to look at and with a solid menu, I enjoyed the pate starter and the pasta. The pasta dish, recommended by my server, was a definite stand out. Great sauce, tender chunks of lobster and of course the caviar. Service was super attentive.

Yelp
We live in Bradenton and love to visit downtown St. Pete and all of the restaurants there. For Christmas, we received a gift certificate to Allelo and used it last night. Phenomenal! We loved everything we tried and our server was terrific! Seafood tower, pate, octopus and rabbit pasta....and for dessert... baclava cheesecake! Highly recommend!

Yelp
This place is SO gorgeous. Every little detail inside was so carefully curated, I loved it. So if you're looking for an insta worthy place, a cute date spot, or if you're just someone who likes a pretty place - this place is for you. Had the brunch menu split, and it came with three dips - baba ghanoush, hummus, and tzatziki with pita, a salad, deviled eggs, and shakshuka. Dips were delicious, probably my favorite part of the whole brunch. Everything was super fresh and light, which is in my opinion, the best kind of brunch. Loved the cardamom french toast too! It wasn't super sweet (which I love) and that little bit of cardamon was just perfect. Overall, service was great and food was delicious too. Definitely a must try if you're in the area!

Yelp
Allelo sits on the perhaps-covered, perhaps-dreaded strip of waterfront street that is crowded with tourists and hot girls. But, it's still worth a visit. The food is top notch, the service is amazing and the vibes are high end. We had the roasted veggies, roasted cauliflower, beef tar tar and caccio e Pepe. The tar tar is hands-down the best I've had in the Tampa Bay Area. They prepare it tableside, with egg, cilantro, onion. It arrives all chopped up, and the waiter comes by to stir it together and explain all the ingredients. It's extremely well done and I enjoyed the presentation. The food was tasty, and I thought quite inventive. My friend wasn't much for trying some of the more adventurous eats, and I didn't try the cocktails this night, but overall, I would return. Note- the only real parking is either street parking, which is an absolute nightmare, or valet next door. You can use the valet for $20. I think it's worth it. Reservations are definitely a must unless you want to sit outside in 95 degree humidity.

Yelp
Tried this place on our most recent trip to St. Pete. What a gem this was. Every thing from the cocktails down to the entrees was impeccable. We tried the meatballs, sashimi, smashed potatoes, for entrees we had the fish which is flown in from somewhere in the Mediterranean might I add and the half chicken. What a great spot, perfect for a date night!

Yelp
Met a friend for brunch on a Saturday when they opened at 11am. Great atmosphere and beautifully decorated. Staff is kind and educated on menu and items. We decided to share deviled eggs, thick bacon and the veg/goat cheese frittata. It was perfect and we were full. The frittata was the size of a dinner plate. All items are as listed no greens or potatoes on the side. Prices are in line for Beach Dr. they have indoor/outdoor seating. Reservations are suggested, we had one and you can select bar, standard or outdoor which I like. Limited tables for bigger groups. All the food tasted great. Enjoy!

Yelp
The moment I stepped into Allelo, I knew I was in for a culinary delight. As my daughter and I perused the menu, our eyes were immediately drawn to the Lamb Bolognese and the classic Cacio E Pepe. We decided to share both, eager to experience the full depth of flavor that Allelo promised and from the first bite, we were captivated. It was truly a culinary experience that left us craving more long after the last bite had been savored. Allelo had truly delivered on its promise of crafting pasta dishes that were the stuff of dreams, and I found myself already eagerly anticipating my next visit to indulge in their heavenly creations once more.

Yelp
Great place in a great location. Came here for a nice brunch. They have indoor and outdoor, we reserved for indoor and had to wait probably 15 min past our reservation time. Inside is not very large space, I think they might have more outdoor tables. However it's way too hot to be outdoor even though they put some fans. We were seated indoors, comfortable chairs. Service was pretty good. Ambiance is also great. Very modern and chic. Menu was pretty extensive with many different options. Mostly tapa style but portions are pretty large. We ordered almost everything on a menu for a table of 4 and definitely was too much food. Fish spread was great. Pancakes amazing. Patatas bravas way too oily and fatty. Salad was great but tiny. Overall food was pretty good. I didn't think it was amazing but pretty good for sure. They had non alcoholic drinks that were amazing! Definitely recommend those! Would like to come back and try dinner one day.

Yelp
Spent a Friday night at Allelo for dinner with my husband and a friend. For starters, we ordered a bunch of shareables, including 1/2 dozen of the West Coast Oysters, 1/2 dozen of the East Coast Oysters, Octopus, and Meatballs. The oysters were crisp, fresh, and tasty - I could have ordered a dozen just for myself! The Octopus had this inexplicable crunch that was unexpected and really added to the texture of it... and the taste was beyond delicious! The meatballs were standard good, tasty meatballs. In addition to a glass of wine, I was eager to try their mocktails which they are known for. Two of us at the table ordered the Bay Got Me Sippin', which was just as good as any alcoholic cocktail I've ever tasted - sweet, creative, and refreshing! For my meal, I ordered the cacio e pepe, which was made with homemade pasta and familiar, homey flavors. All the dishes we were served were beautifully prepared and were of the highest quality. Service was friendly and quick...but not too quick... All around fantastic visit - highly recommend.

Yelp
This is our second restaurant on Beach Dr NE, after Parkshore Grill. Definitely will return. We came here before the opera. It has a sizable outdoor section that looks out to Tampa Bay, with sofas and regular tables. The indoor decor is tasteful, dominates by a big mural, which was done by artist Annette Gloomis (?). High ceiling, with three exposed fat pipes. Fresh flowers on the tables, handbag hooks under the tables. Allelo is short for Allelomimetic - allelomimetic behavior. Stems, tableware and utensils are all really good: especially they use smaller spoons for desserts - thank you! We've 4 glasses 2021 red from three countries: Portuguese Touriga Nacional Herdade do Rocim: smooth, the best of the three French Syrah Domaine Faillenc St Marie Corbières: ok Spanish Garnacha Camino de Navaherrero Bernabeleva: too dry The asparagus (sunflower, aleppo, pecorino butter) is yummy. The sauce is light and lively. Too bad we weren't hungry after the big lunch at Terra Gaucha. We're able, however, to squeeze in a piece of tiramisu - it's to die for, with prominent dark rum taste; and I love the coarse texture - I don't like my food being massaged too much. The cake is made in the house. I like the wall paper in their bathroom too -:)

Yelp
Omg, JUST WOOW . First time ever visiting Downtown St Petersburg and I am blown away so much to do. Sunday brunch we visit this restaurant and from the staff to the food it was fenomenal. Since it was a beautiful day we requested to be seated outside w the live music and they gave us the table right away and they even readjusted the umbrella for better shade. The menu for brunch was pretty simple, we order the Pancakes and French toast. The pancakes were so delightful. They were soft and so tasteful, best pancakes I ever had in my life. The French toast was sticks, but they were so crunchy on the outside and flavorful on the inside. Also, the pineapple mimosa was not your typical mimosa highly recommend. For the dog lovers you can bring ur furr baby to the patio

Yelp
To start by saying we drove from Orlando to try this place out! Tik tok was raving this place so my girlfriend and I had to try this out for brunch. The location first of all is amazing right in the heart of where everything is in St. Pete, infront of the Pierre. The room was beautiful!! Very old school with beach Miami vibes amazing all around. We got the family style brunch to try a little bit of everything and glad we got out waiter because he was very helpful in picking the food out and always smiling with more references to do in the area. The food was all great but our favorite was the olive oil pancakes, that was the best breakfast item we have ever had. As fattening as it sounds it was delicious and a must try! Definitely would come again

Yelp
I had a great time at Allelo with friends. We had a table outside for our large party and it was a very nice atmosphere. Drinks were amazing -- I'd come back just for that! We tried the family style menu which I think is the right move because you can get more of any of the items if you wanted. IMO, ordering a la carte from the menu would be too expensive for what you get. My favorite items were the French toast, pancakes, and the labneh. The shakshuka was a little bit cold and I wish the bread was warmer/fresh. I also found the pita to be a little too charred. Service was amazing! They were able to split our bill for a party of 7 which was super appreciated.

Yelp
This is one of the best restaurants in St Pete! The location is on one of the hottest streets in St Pete. It's beautiful and you can see the water if you sit outside.. The food and service are top notch! I have been twice so far with the same quality of food and service. Highly recommend when in St Pete!

Mario M.

Yelp
Excellent food. Loved the ambience and experience. Strongly recommend this place for any occasion.

Yelp
OMG!! This food was sooo good! The steak tartare was so good. The charcuterie board was good, but a little basic. The focaccia was so fluffy and those crispy potatos were yummy!! The strip loin was very tender and seasoned well. We sat outside and it was such a nice environment. They gave us blankets since it was chilly. It was a nice touch. This is definitely an option for me for restaurant week. It was soooo good!
google avatar

Stephanie G.

Yelp
Amazing ambiance, food, service and craft cocktails. Me and my husband are foodies abs enjoy eating out every weekend. We are new to the St Pete area but can confidently say this has been our favorite restaurant in the area thus far. Everything we ordered didn't disappoint. The chimichurri steak was incredible!

Yelp

Creamy potato avocado 3.5/5 Potatoes fried smushed home fries so yummy nicely crisped edges 5/5 Cool atmospheres Complimentary creamy house made limoncello (delish) Will return for the famous brunch!
google avatar

Amanda W.

Yelp
I mean, where else can you go with 2 friends and share 9 or so different food items family style for $35/person. Service was a little slow to start, but he was friendly and made up for it. Ambiance is kind casual chic. I didn't care much for my brunch drink, but ALL the food was delicious. Definitely go for the 9-round brunch. None of us left hungry.
google avatar

Liz F.

Yelp
Great service! We were so hungry we didn't take a picture of the rest of the food. We had the ricotta soft scramble which was 7/10. Pancakes 9/10 and papas bravas were the best one 10/10.
google avatar

April J.

Yelp
Beautiful Mediterranean inspired decor and menu. Staff and service was attentive and posh as with a European custom feel. French toast sticks were to die for. Very light with a donut cake taste served with a seasonal jam. Reservations are a must otherwise bar seating is available if luck serves you. Seating for six (to the right of the front door) (see pic) is perfect for a coffee meet-up. Reservations needed. On street parking can be difficult. Try parking on First St N. Plenty of open spots with just a 5 min walk towards the restaurant, park & the waterfront

Yelp
Right when you thought brunch in St. Pete couldn't get any zestier, in saunters Allelo with its trend-setting family-style spreads. Nestled just a leisurely stroll away from the serene waterfront, this spot isn't just a restaurant; it's a culinary experience. The food? Unapologetically scrumptious. Every dish feels like it's serenading your taste buds with harmonious flavors that dance off the plate. And let's talk about that Pear Pressure cocktail. Serving six and arriving in a table-sized keg? It's not just a drink, it's a statement! Gather your brunch crew because this is not a cocktail to tackle solo - and trust me, you won't want to. Get your brunch-loving behind to Allelo, and prepare for a dining experience that's as fiery as a Florida summer!
google avatar

Jamie G.

Yelp
So glad I got to check this place off my list for spots to try in St. Pete! The gorgeous decor, sultry vibes and dim lighting definitely draw you in as you enter. Service at the bar was wonderful; attentive and kind. Still dreaming about the cacio e pepe. The pasta was crafted and cooked beyond perfection. Every bite was comforting and made my tummy very happy. The black pepper was prominent and fresh; usually black pepper doesn't have any type of surprise element, but something about the amount and/or the type of pepper they use to create such a cohesive dish really stood out to my tastebuds and had my mouth jumping for joy. Also, I enjoyed the meatballs on the side and would for sure return again!

Yelp
Such a quaint place in the Beach Dr. area of St. Pete. I came here recently for a weekend brunch and the inside is so cozy and upscale. Service was great during our visit as well. There are some very creative drink options and food offerings. We ended up ordering multiple dishes for the table including the Shakshuka, French Toast, Thick Cut Bacon, and Hummus and Pita. Everything we ordered was amazing and just the right portions for sharing. Can't wait to come back to try their dinner menu sometime.
google avatar

Sheila H.

Yelp
Definitely recommend the table side beef tartare. The staff brings it out with an egg and several spices on a cask iron skillet then combines the ingredients and puts it on your plate in front of you. Excellent presentation and great flavors. Served with crackers and bread. 10/10 My friend ordered the octopus and I tried a bite. Great portions and presentation served with fresh fruit and creamy sauce. 9/10 We ordered a few desserts. My favorite was the banana bread pudding. My friend liked her polenta brulee. For drinks, I got the moscato- it was excellent. 10/10. The price on the menu was wrong in the computer but the server corrected it. We had a big party, they could only accommodate us outside on the side walk. Nice view of the water. Would want to go back to try more of their cocktail menu.
google avatar

Angela S.

Yelp
Came here for brunch on a Saturday morning. Beautiful restaurant and our server was great. We ordered the family style brunch and added a couple of dishes from the menu. It was plenty of food. And if you want more of something you just ask. The French toast was my favorite.
google avatar

Cassandra H.

Yelp
Went for a birthday dinner with 9 friends, sat outside our male waiter thin tall with facial hair and slight accent was terrible. You can tell he was annoyed and rushed us ordering drinks and food. He kept asking if we were ready to order with no patience and would then walk off. He was SOOOO RUDE. I would have left if it wasn't my friend bday, but he knew he was guaranteed a good tip due to the party size, but he treated us like pure shit! The food was ok but for us spending $850, most of us leaving hungry I can't say I'd return. The drinks are small and I hated my pasta dish but didn't want to complain or send it back. Waiter said I could not add any protein to the dish. Prices are steep small portions. There's def better options to explore.
google avatar

Carolyn H.

Yelp
The best dining experience I have had in a long time! The management and service staff, including Sarah, Elio and Alex, were friendly, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our experience..and we sure did! Sarah made sure we knew the menu highlights, and she did not steer us wrong! Everything we had on the menu was incredible..the Asparagus, Greek salad, cauliflower, Beef tar tar, and pasta (home made) Bolognese. Not to mention the incredible desserts- baklava cheese cake and olive oil cake. I cannot wait to go back!
google avatar

Samantha M.

Yelp
Loved everything here. The vibe. The service. The food. Great addition to dtsp. Highly recommend.

B N.

Yelp
Best Greek salad I ever had! The pork chop was absolutely scrumptious as well! The restaurant is beautiful and welcoming;however, we felt that the incredibly loud music made it very difficult to hold a conversation.

Kathy H.

Yelp
Beautifully decorated interior with a posh outdoor seating area perfect for people watching g and enjoying the park in the distance on a dusky evening. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. He gave a good overview of the menu and recommendations. Food was delicious. Table favorites were the seasonal Peach and Burrata appetizer and the Greek Salad. All food came out fresh, warm and flavorful.
google avatar

Lance M.

Yelp
The hostess needs remedial training on civility. If what you are looking for is to be treated with indignity as the first impression, then by all means this might be your place. Ruined the whole experience. If you see a young, thin brunette - expect her to be rude. Patio is nice. Food was decent.
google avatar

Tyrone E.

Yelp
Allelo is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk up , you're greeted with breathtaking waterfront views that elevate your dining experience to another level. The interior decor perfectly complements the natural beauty outside, creating a serene and captivating ambiance. Now, let's talk about the food - simply divine! The lamb bolognese was a culinary masterpiece, bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Every bite was a symphony of taste that left me wanting more. And don't even get me started on the meatballs; they were out of this world! But what truly sets Allelo apart is their impeccable service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our dining experience was flawless. Their attention to detail and genuine warmth made us feel like royalty.Overall, Allelo exceeded all expectations and left a lasting impression. If you're looking for a five-star dining experience with stunning waterfront views, delectable cuisine, and exceptional service, look no further than Allelo. It's truly a culinary paradise!

Yelp
Allelo was really good and I loved the aesthetic. I tried a few things on their menu one thing I did not like was the fish dip with the hard crackers and I also wish the potatoes had a little less tanginess to it . But other than that it was great and the meatballs were definitely my favorite. The service was great no complaints there.
google avatar

Heather F.

Yelp
I've been hearing good things about Allelo and heard about their brunch so we decided to try it. Inside it is a cute European vibe with a bar area and seated tables. We sat at the high tops next to the bar and started off with the espresso martini. I loved the added touch of the art inside the martini. The martini itself was really good! We couldn't decide what we wanted so we opted for the family style chef selected tasting menu we had Dips with pita bread Cucumber and feta salad Meatballs French toast Bacon Deviled eggs Shakshuka Ricotta toast with apricot Everything was delicious and I think the ricotta toast was my favorite. I loved the service and drinks. This is a great option for brunch.

Yelp
This is a puffed up 4 stars. My experience was maybe 3.5 but I think the restaurant has enough to justify the round up. After all, my food was good, my drink mostly good, and the server was very friendly and attentive. They even have a huge sidewalk patio that's dog friendly, and here I am with my good boy. So my issues? I'm a fat kid inside a somewhat) very somewhat) athletic looking 45+ year old man, so I got the charcuterie board and the chicken entree. The board was a reasonable size with a few meats and cheeses and lots of accoutrements. I didn't love the hard cheddar, what that's okay. What I thought was ridiculous was that for a board this size, they give you 5 crackers. And yes, they were large crackers, but any charcuterie board with a damn will have at lease enough bread things to last through the cheese. It may seem like a minor thing but the bread is a critical piece of any quality charcuterie board. Nevertheless, overall, it was a very good board. Another issue is the lack of a side dish with the large plates. You'd be correct if you said, "how can you take credit away when the thing you're complaining about is obvious based on the menu?" But that's another reason why I'm rounding up. It wouldn't be fair to do so. I only bring it up because a $32 chicken entree without a side dish is an expensive dinner. My big issue was timing. Although my server was friendly and attentive the boats took almost 30 minutes to come to me and my entree was another 20 minutes after the board. The board took me a while, so that entree was also really poorly timed. And they weren't that busy so the timing wasn't justified. I'm not in Europe, I don't expect my meal to take an hour to completely come out. Back to the good-my chicken was fantastic. It had amazing flavor even without the piri piri sauce it comes with but with the sauce it had a delicious kick. Cooked perfectly too. The slices of orange and another fruit on top seemed odd to me but the flavor really balanced out the spice nicely. They should actually include a few more slices since they need to last a 1/2 chicken. II also got their version of a smoked old fashioned- basically an old fashioned but got the smoke they use some kind of Japanese tea or something. I don't really recall the explanation but the drink comes with a small spray bottle and a torch and they spray the drink and torch it. It's a cool affect but the fire part is just for show. It's whatever is in the spray bottle that gives it is Smokey flavor. It was a good drink but I like my smoked old fashioned the old fashioned way. So, anyway, good food, friendly service, but pricey and poorly timed.

Yelp
I ordered a couple drinks and the charcuterie board and all were fantastic. The cheeses and meats were delicious. The only thing I wish I knew was that one of the cheeses was goat cheese which I'm not a fan of and would have asked to get that substituted. Otherwise, everything was amazing! The service was great and we sat outdoors which was shaded and very nice. I definitely want to come back for brunch because that menu looks even better!
google avatar

Yelp
Our waitress was amazing! Offered great suggestions on food drinks and dessert. The interior is stunning, warm, inviting, and very modern. We got a number of dishes. I highly recommend the shrimp scampi, bolognese, brussel sprouts and the bread pudding (OMG). Overall great experience and I'll definitely come back. Make sure you get a reservation as this is a hot spot and gets packed

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place I did!!! However, I did not. The waiter described the cooking process of the octopus and said that was why it was tender, my brain was skeptical... I have never known cooking octopus twice to result in tender... I still don't understand unfortunately. The staff was lovely which is why this is above par but the food was lacking in all 3 of my dishes.

Yelp
The Octopus Arancini was definitely the favorite plate. Snapper Crudo lacking flavor other than dill and the Pate was fine but nothing spectacular. Great drinks, beautiful restaurant, with okay service.

Yelp
I wish my second Allelo experience was as phenomenal as the first time. Sadly, it missed the mark. To preface, I came here to celebrate a big accomplishment at one of my favorite restaurants. When the reservation was booked, we noted that tonight was a celebration and provided details. When we arrived, the host asked if it was a special occasion, and we once again shared that we were celebrating. When we were seated and our server greeted us, they asked for a third time if we were celebrating anything. Then nothing happened. Not that anything needs to happen, but what is the point of asking for information if you are not going to do anything with that information? There was no effort to make the night special or share in our celebration on Allelo's part, which was a let down. As for the food, it was inconsistent. The beef tartare and branzino were as delectable as I remembered them. Instead of the cacio e pepe I tried the capeletti pasta stuffed with mushrooms, and was not a fan at all. The mushrooms were sour with a sharp bite to them, and that was the only flavor the dish had. To make matters worse, the desserts (with the exception of the chocolate cake with cherries and strawberry syrup) were BAD. I never thought I would have a bad thing to say about Allelo, but the desserts were really not good. We tried an espresso martini, the polenta crème brûlée and the deconstructed lemon pie. The espresso martini fell flat and came with a gummy, but cute, branded logo. The polenta had no business calling itself crème brûlée because the only commonality was the caramelized sugar top. The flavor and texture were both off-putting. The lemon dessert was almost as off-putting, and I struggle to determine which was worse. It was essentially a hard bar of frozen lemon milk that was so acidic I was surprised I did not instantly have heart burn. It was topped with candied fennel (not bad, but not good) and plated with an olive oil emulsion and a pasta water emulsion. Why anyone would think those two emulsions are a good idea is beyond me. Neither added anything to the dish and actually took away from the already lacking quality. It is a shame that Allelo can deliver good appetizers and entrees but cannot pull through with good desserts. All in all, this experience was disheartening. Our server was a 5/5, the beef tartare and branzino were a 5/5, and the prices were 5/5, but the cons outweighed the pros this time.

Yelp
We arrived rather late around 9 before the restaurant closes and asked for some recommendations. Our servers were quick and efficient and provided some good options to try. The food was top notch, we enjoyed the octopus so much we ordered an extra order. It's flavor and preparation was truly outstanding.

Yelp
So we haven't been by here in a while and the last time we heard they were changing from anata. I saw some post about the new place and had to stop in. First off the Bartenders are awesome! We were only here for drinks but they made it an incredible night. Shea and Shaun, our bartenders were awesome. Ask for it and they will make it. Their House cocktails are so good and they made them well. As for food we only tried the tartar but that was amazing. So many good flavors. Very cool spot with great food. The atmosphere at the bar is so cool. Looking forward to coming back for dinner.

Yelp
We had the pleasure of enjoying this new or reopened addition to Downtown St Pete for our Sat date night. We were seated immediately at a nice high top near the beautiful well stocked bar. Our server was well versed with the menu and made great recommendations for both food and wine. We ordered the bread, Brussel sprouts, meatballs, branzino, bolognese and a nice cabernet. The food was delicious. Our favs were the Brussels and branzino. The quinoa that came with the branzino I finished first. It was spectacular. The branzino was also perfect. We ordered the small portion at $44 and ita enough to split between 2 people. I brought the other half home for leftovers. My husband enjoyed the bolognese but I personally feel it lacked in flavor. It was quite plain. The meatballs were a bit simple and lacked the wow I was hoping for. I am allergic to cow based dairy products. I was highly impressed by the oil whipped into what appeared to be butter. It melted nicely on the 2 different types of warm fresh bread. The restaurant has a very nice vibe. Noise level was medium. Great for adults, couples, etc. The tables away from the bar may be suitable for families. The bathroom remodel is stunning. I love that there's now 3 bathrooms for women and not shared with men. We will return. I plan on bringing a few of my friends for drinks during the week. There's also outside sitting that's very well maintained and clean.

Yelp
Excellent service and classy, casual ambiance. We had a reservation and seated at a table in the bar area. The bar tables are a bit uncomfortable and awkward, next time I would prefer to sit at the actual bar or regular table. Both of our drinks were delightful and server well-versed on wine choices. What I really love about this restaurant is the concept of ordering for the table and sharing. The main entrées serve 2-4 people, so there is no need for everyone to order their own food. My husband and I came for a date night and shared everything ordered, which we would probably do anyways. Would definitely be a great revisit with another couple or larger group. They have a similar concept for their brunch: pay a per person fee and served family style with nine different chef selections. We will definitely be back for that! Now as to the food. Endive salad to start, octopus next, main course lamb chops and cauliflower served together. Our server did a really good job of making sure that everything was timed just right. Mains were our favorite - cauliflower probably number one for me but I'm in love with most cauliflower things. Lamb was really good, easy to slide off the bone and good crust. This was my husband's favorite. Salad was nice and light and a solid combination of flavors. I would've enjoyed a few more pickled mushrooms and maybe a black pepper finish. I loved the serving (both in portion and accoutrements) of the octopus. We did ask how it was prepared- it's sous vide then flash fried. I did not mind the fry, but my husband said he preferred grilled, which is probably my preference too. Not pictured is banana bread pudding (to go). While it was good and certainly eaten, it was not really reminiscent of banana bread and not a ton of banana flavor even. The bread pudding itself was over powered by the carob chips. The espresso sauce and gelato were great and really carried the dish.

Yelp
Food was amazing especially the beef tartare and lamb bolognese and the cocktails were really good as well . We enjoyed our time in Allelo eating in the outside patio with live music nearby . Our server was really nice and attentive . We will definitely come back for the food and great ambiance

Yelp
The perfect brunch spot doesn't exist? It does now! Allelo is the perfect spot to enjoy a girls day! As far as I know, this is one of the few spots (maybe even the only place?) you can order a family style brunch in St Pete! For $34 a person, you get a chefs selection of dishes. You only have to choose between French Toast or pancakes for the table and they decide the rest! Food and drinks were amazing. I knocked it down a star because it did take ten minutes before someone came over to our table, but after that service was great. Meter parking is available all over, and if you park a few blocks away it's free parking for two hours. We did make a reservation, and I would encourage you to make one as well when you go.

Yelp
Very poor service. My wife and I were excited to try Allelo for our anniversary. Reservations made well in advanced. Today, was a rainy day in St pete. We get to Allelo and check in. The restaurant is busy, its saturday night. You can see that there are tables available and seats available at the bar. Because of the weather, they blocked off the bar for reservations and and had limited seating outside. We were assigned a table outside. The outside tables available were horrible. It was still very cold even though they had heaters and the table offered was positioned towards the end of the overhang and was still getting wet from the rain. They said they could give us blankets. I dont want to eat with a blanket around me for an upper scale experience. I asked if we could sit inside. However we were informed they were for reservations. We had a reservation. They said they couldnt move anything around. Not sure why. We were there and clearly they had open spots at the bar for reservations as well as other tables. We asked if we could wait for an inside table, they said no. At this point I was already very frustrated. Allelo and its management failed here. They had no good reason as to why they couldnt put us inside. We just told them we would cancel our reservation. I feel very disappointed as i tried to plan this night out. If they knew they couldnt accommodate us inside, they should have called us. Yes florida weather can shift and i understand that. This is nothing new. We traveled 45 mins to get there and ended up being turned off based on the whole experience.

Yelp
One of the best meals in the best location in St. Pete. Service A+! Visited on a Wednesday evening while they were also hosting a private event (so we were seated in the cool bar area and the servers didn't miss a beat. Food A+++! Honestly, one of the best meals I've had in St. Pete. EVERYTHING was perfect! Octopus, Greek salad, branzino and the quinoa is the best I've ever tried EVER, rack of lamb, sumac that (alcoholic and nonalcoholic but good), and the banana bread pudding (the reason I came). OMGNESS...perfection. I was most impressed by the offer to order a half order of Branzino because I wanted to try everything and their was no way I could even attempt a whole order. Allelo ROCKS! Can't wait to go back!!!!
