Strawberry Alley Ale Works

We stopped by Strawberry Alley in Clarksville, Tennessee yesterday and made it just in time for brunch. Their brunch specials were so hard to choose from because everything looked absolutely delicious. We ordered the mimosas in the large jar and they were very good and definitely hit the spot. I got the chicken and waffles and they were buttery and cooked to perfection. The chicken tenders were amazing, crispy, and full of flavor. We also ordered the fish and chips with battered cod and potato tidbits, and everything was delicious. They had an appetizer bar where you could serve yourself, which was a great touch. The chicken salad was amazing. The chocolate chip cookies and muffins were delicious, and the oatmeal raisin cookies were good as well. The pasta salad was great, and while I am not usually a fan of potato salad, I tried it and it was surprisingly really good. It was easy to find, and the bathrooms were clean. The staff was amazing, and our waitress was so sweet and very helpful when it came to deciding which entrée to get. Parking is located behind the building and requires scanning for parking, but once you scan and fill it out online, it usually zeroes out. It is typically listed as $20 for four hours, but the process is simple, easy, and gives peace of mind. Everything was very clean and well organized, and the atmosphere was really nice. This is definitely somewhere I would love to stop by again, and hopefully next time I will be able to come back and try dinner.

Lunch on a weekday with a large party and we were all happy with our visit. We were seated immediately and order taken quickly. I was disappointed that they didn’t have fish and chips so I ordered a bourbon burger instead and it was delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful and restaurant was clean and well kept. Highly recommended!

I had the Schnitzel it was okay it was basically flat fried chicken with gravy two of us had chicken and waffles the waffles are cold they brought us out fresh ones that weren't cold. The shrimp and grits was off the charts good

I’ve really tried to give this place another chance because I truly enjoy the atmosphere, but every time we visit we end up disappointed, and I think it’s finally time to call it quits. The fries came out as old bits and scraps, the pizza was tiny and mostly just dough, and the lemonade was so sour that even my kid—who usually loves lemonade—couldn’t drink it. I really want this to be a regular spot for our family since we love the upstairs vibe, but the food consistently falls short. The servers are kind and the atmosphere is great, but the kitchen needs serious improvement. I hate even having to write this, because the potential is there. Right now, though, what we got wasn’t worth even half of what it could be. Fix the food, and clean the bubble gum sticky bathroom floors and I’ll gladly be back.

We went for Brunch on a Saturday mid-morning. It's a really neat place that's plenty spacious for larger groups. The service was excellent from the time we walked in to the time we walked out. My 7-yr old loved the complimentary "buffet" with cookies, fruits, etc. I ordered a spicy Bloody Mary and Shrimp n Grits. I'm from the deep south so I have a great appreciation for those two menu items and hold them to a high standard. I only gave 4 stars there but I'm sure they are both 5-star to most people. I only deducted a star because the bacon in the Bloody Mary was cold and chewy, inedible. And, if the managers are listening, the okra needs to be a spicy okra and the olive was not salty at all. The shrimp n grits were good, just lacked a little salt and instead of cheddar, the cheese should definitely be gouda and the green onions need to be sliced a little thinner. The atmosphere is amazing, especially when you have a 7-year-old and a 9-month-old, it's wide open and just loud enough the kids can make a little noise and not be considered the rowdy kids at a restaurant. Everyone at our table of 6 enjoyed the visit though and we will definitely return.

Ana was incredibly friendly! She was knowledgeable of the menu and helped our party of foodies get the best of experiences. We will be back!

Had one of the best Cobb Salads I've ever had here. Spacious inside seating plus a patio and an upper deck. Our server was extremely attentive, and the food was delicious. To top it off, the prices were reasonable. Everything you could want in a restaurant choice.

We went @5:45 on a Thursday night. It wasn't crowded or busy. We did not have to wait to be seated. Our server was very efficient and friendly. We had the blackened fish tacos, stuffed cowboy burger, fish and chips, and kids grilled cheese. Everything was really good with the exception of the roasted vegetables I chose as my side. The server did offer to give me another side for free. We would definitely return.

It's great. Service and food were really good very quick in and out on Saturday for brunch

This place is fabulous!!!! And the bartender Olivia Latham she is outstanding!!! My husband said he will go back just to have service from her beautiful spirit!!! Sweet sweet young lady...5 star rating..

We made a 2:00pm reservation for brunch an hour prior to arriving. Upon arriving at the restaurant, my friend jokingly said we had a party of 40, to which neither the host nor the employee even cracked a smile for (awkward much?), we provided our name and the hostess stated our reservation had been cancelled because the reservations needed to be made two hours prior then went on to explain the technicalities of their reservation system. We could clearly see that there were empty tables (about 1/4 of the restaurant) that we simply could have been seated at. The hostess was able to get us seated after a little wait. Our waitress was hospitable from the start and exchanged banter with our group. We asked what the brunch platter was and she explained that because they did not serve appetizers for brunch, there was a complimentary bar with fruits, eggs, etc. After ordering our food, we went over to the brunch platter bar which was completely empty to our dismay. My friend asked if the bar would be restocked and the employee replied "I'll be real with you, probably not". Not a very professional response. We had to return 3/4 of the silverware sets provided to us because they had food stuck on them. We ordered an old fashioned which came out looking like grapefruit juice. It looked terrible and tasted just as bad. We sent it back and asked for water instead. The waitress was nice enough to bring the drink back remade- it tasted better than the first but would not have called it an old fashioned. Now on to the food- SUBPAR. We ate the food because it took forever for the food to come out and we were starving. Chicken and Waffles- The waffles came out cold while the chicken was warm. Breakfast Burger- There was nothing special about it. Probably the best plate out of everything we ordered. Steak Benedict/ Ham Benedict- Our "poached" eggs were fully cooked. The breakfast potatoes were bland. My steak was cooked like a hockey puck. Our hollandaise sauce was drizzled on top as if they had run out of it. I left half my plate uneaten. The best part of my plate was the biscuit. We expressed our extreme disappointment to our waitress and let her know that it had nothing to do with her and thanked her for her great service. She brought it up to the manager who basically knocked off 3/4 of our bill. Even with the reduced bill, we left extremely annoyed at the entire experience. My friends have been to Strawberry Alley multiple times and raved about this establishment. However, after our recent trip, we will not be back.

Really couldn't believe the experience I had here after so many years of being blown away. I brought my partner here because he's never had fried green tomatoes before and hyped this spot up for weeks because when I lived in Clarksville, this was my go to. It use to be a great place to take my family and friends visiting from out of town. From the moment we were sat (there was no wait) the experience had already been tarnished. It took 12 minutes for our waiter to come and greet us. Just as we were about to get up and leave, he came to get us started. He first took our drink orders and we put in the tomato's and egg rolls for the appetizers. Our drinks came out fairly quickly but our appetizers took another 20 minutes. The waiter never came to apologize for the wait or ask us if we were going to order dinner as well. When the appetizers came, I requested regular ranch for the southwest egg rolls and the server never brought it back. Another young man finally came around to take care of the table behind us so we were able to flag him down and ask for the condiment. By the time it came the egg rolls were cold and chewy. The tomatoes were lukewarm as soon as they hit the table and for as long as a wait that we had, it was super disappointing. When we finally got to order our entrees, i asked the waiter if it was going to take 30 minutes for our food to come and he actually said "it might" lol. Thanks for the transparency. My man ordered the steak frites and I ordered the chicken burrito bowl as it's always been one of my favorites. When the entrees finally came, my burrito bowl was skimpy and had NO CHIPS. When I asked the waiter where the chips were, he then let me know they were out and that I could get something else if I wanted to. Of course I was upset because I had just waited an almost an hour to get to this point and I could've ordered something else when I first had the chance had the communication been trickled down from the kitchen to the patrons, but there was no way I could enjoy the pile of mixture that was presented to me even lacking the potato chips. So I opted for the chicken piccata instead. I asked my partner how he felt about his dish as I encouraged him to go ahead and eat without me so his food doesn't get colder. He said it was fine and the fries were good. The steak looked liked it was cooked exactly how he asked for it but the presentation was lacking imo. My chicken piccata came in about 10 minutes after switching it out and it was perfect. Chicken hot and crispy. Seasoned to perfection. No complaints there. Just sucked everything sucked leading up to that. Also want to mention house keeping. There was several Cobb/spider webs with dead flies trapped in them along the window seals. this family restaurant started off strong and I hate to see it decline in this manner. Let's get this fixed guys.

A little pricey with not the best service quality, but I've never had a bad meal here. The food is typically very fresh and their menu changes frequently enough that I can try something new every time I come in. As someone with stomach issues and food sensitivities/allergies there is always an option available here for me! The atmosphere is pretty cool too if you enjoy dining outdoors or in their upstairs section

Another town, and another brew pub on our annual trip to somewhere. This year we were returning home from NOLA and decided to stop for the night in Clarksville. As I always do, I fired up my trusty Yelp App and the Strawberry Alley Ale Works looked promising so we decided to give it a try. I neglected to add a note in my travel log saying exactly what kind of beer I ordered -- but as I recall it was a perfectly acceptable, brewed in-house, brew pub, beer. Definitely better than a can of mega-brewer's swill. For my dinner I ordered Jägerschnitzel and I was quite pleased with the dish. The nicely breaded pork cutlet was served with apple kraut, braised red cabbage, and mushroom gravy. I'm kind of particular about red cabbage -- it's something I grew up loving in our German heritage household -- and though their preparation was different from my recipe, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The chef hit the sweet and sour notes perfectly -- almost like Grandma's. All in all, the dish was a nice alternative to a burger and fries. Though nothing sets the Strawberry Alley Ale Works apart from thousands of similar establishments across the county, it is good for its genre and I'd definitely stop for dinner if my travels ever land us in Clarksville again.

Strawberry Alley Ale Works is a very nice place with welcoming staff. Miranda is an awesome Person who handles all customers needs at the bar. Weather you're sitting at the bar or at one of the tables I'm sure you'll enjoy your meal.

The food was amazing! We went during brunch. I think my friend and I were super hungry because we ended up cleaning out plates and the resting the breakfast tacos to share! It was delicious.

Server was attentive and kept the refills coming. Food was above average but not fantastic. I had fish and chips. Fries were undercooked and a bit greasy, tartar sauce was bland and would've like more Cole slaw and less fries. All that said, it was good and I'm nitpicking a little to justify the four stars.

Finally got to try this spot out after living here in Clarksville since October. Really good spot! The food is delicious, it's an expansive building, so even though they pack a lot of people in, you still feel like you have enough elbow room. Service was great, we were greeted and given plenty of suggestions to work with. Definitely a good date outing, group meetup, or family gathering. Wait times can get long if you go anytime after 12pm.

Go. You won't be disappointed. Visited here on a Wednesday evening for dinner and there were a few people dining in, but not many. Good for us because we had a large party and we're seated immediately. Service was very quick & waitress went above and beyond to cater to our needs. Here's what we ordered: -Potato Chip Nachos: my least favorite but everyone else devoured them, including my toddler. Loved the change from soggy tortilla nachos and fries. The chips were homemade and very crunchy. -southwest egg rolls: nothing special, but again, everyone devoured them. Good flavor. -fried green tomatoes: yum! Love the sauce that was on top. The appetizer was sweet yet savory. -fried chicken sliders: very delicious. The chicken had the perfect crunch to it and the bun was amazing. Simple, yet effective. -Cheeseburger: Melted in my mouth! The bun is phenomenal and the tender, juicy meat just complimented it so well. I opted for no pickles but all the other toppings were fabulous. Will definitely get again. Fries were SUPER hot and delicious. -Burbon Burger: I didn't taste it but my dad wanted to order a 2nd one to go after taking his first bite. He said it was absolutely wonderful & the best Burbon burgers he's ever tasted. My kids ordered Mac and cheese & grilled cheese sandwiches. They were too full to eat all of their meals because they loved the appetizers so much. We loved all the alcoholic beverages ordered. I had the peach mojito and loved that it wasn't too much of anything, just right. Overall perfect experience, I don't have a negative thing to say. Will be back!

OMG! The burger was so good, juicy and very tasty! The fries were yummy dipped in their own ranch. Phil was amazing, so damn kind and polite. I highly recommend this place! It's now one of my all time favorites!

The waitress Corinne made the experience wonderful!!! She had a warm smile, was so attentive, gave us impeccable service!!! Will go back again & again!!!

The best sweet potato fries and a yummy burger. Great location, great environment, and nice staff. The special sauce on the burger was yum-o. I'm very particular with my fries. I only like them a couple different ways. When she told me they had sweet potato fries I thought I'd probably get stick fries that are chunky. When she came out with waffle fries AND they were THIN I was so excited. Lightly seasoned as well the fries were delish. If you're new visiting this area beware of the California hills. I literally about died I was terrified driving up it. Had my friend direct me another way down lol. SN: they have an upstairs which is separate on Yelp that has a game hall. Perfect for friends, first date, or date in general. Go, enjoy!!

1st time here was on my bday January 4th. I had lunch here. Kids were at school and husband was at work so why not?!? I ordered the cheeseburger with fries, crab and grit fritters and sangria. I took the burger to go cause I had gotten full off of fries and drinks. The crab fritters were delicious. I ran outside to refill my parking meter because the attendant was on the prowl and writing tickets. A man brought me a mimosa since it was my birthday. The food was delicious. The staff were extremely sweet. If I'm not mistaken the bartender name was Olivia. Super Sweet person! The restaurant was clean and quiet. It was around 11:30am when I went. I like it so much the 1st time I brought my husband 9 days later. He had the bourbon burger and fries in which he enjoyed. I had the chicken burrito bowl. It was ok. It was missing some seasoning somewhere and I would've like some chips or pita bread with it. We also had some crab and grit fritters but they were mostly grits not really any crab in them. I'll definitely try them again.

We were visiting Clarksville and locals recommended this place. We all LOVED our food. Our server, Tyler, was attentive and so helpful. The salmon was amazing! We enjoyed the brunch platter included on a Sunday afternoon. We would love to come back and have Tyler serve us again!

This place was good, very interesting menu. My tacos were delicious however the rice was either over cooked or left out for too long because it was crunchy and very hard to eat. Our waitress max was awesome and got me a side of fries. The dessert trio was also delicious, my personal favorite was the strawberry cheesecake.

The food was amazing. Went for brunch. Had a shrimp and cheese grits platter. Couldn't eat it all. Also a mimosa. Friend had traditional breakfast. Had to take some of hers home as well. Service was great. Highly recommended.

Ambiance is great, the service is excellent, the food was okay, not the best. Our burgers really didn't have any flavor. We wouldn't see ourselves coming back. My husband and I got the bourbon burger with sweet potato fries, and my brother ordered the chicken bowl. My brother said it was good only because he was really hungry after work but it would have been trash any other day. One major problem we had was the straws weren't wrapped. Sanitary issue.

Recommended by a local during our recent visit to Clarksville. We enjoyed a taste of southern flavors with the fried green tomatoes to start. The waitress recommended the shrimp and avocado bowl for a lighter option and it was delicious! Healthy and tasty. I snuck a few bites of the mac and cheese, which was loved by all at the table. Good food in a cute location.

You can find Strawberry Alley Ale Works at 103 Strawberry Aly, Clarksville, TN 37040 - this is on the riverside of downtown Clarksville. There's parking along the streets and in various lots but you'll probably need to pay - just an FYI. The building is a refurbished manufacturing or warehouse style commercial brick with a storefront - looks like much of the original shell is still standing but the inside has been gutted and updated for a much more open space and expansive feel. When we arrived there was a line out the door and along the side waiting for the opening for Brunch. I'm not sure if it's always offered but on this day there had various salads (including a cucumber salad and deviled eggs) along with some muffins that you could gnosh on while waiting for your food and drinks. I tried the chicken and waffles which I though good if a bit heavy - these were boneless cutlets pretty much covering a waffle. I also had a flight of beer: * Strawberry Alley Hefeweizen 4/5 - Well executed hefe, lightweight with typical Belgian banana nose, a touch sweet and fruity, finishes dry and crisp. * Class A IPA 3.5/5 - Fairly dark for a west coast IPA, extravagant creamy sweet malt notes obliterated by the piney bitter finish. Raspberry Berlinerweiss 3.7/5 - Fairly tasty, fruity with tart raspberry notes, finishes somewhat bright, could use a bit more sweetness on the finish. Belgian Dubbel 3.8/5 - Competently made with a typical Belgian banana nose, roasty malt backbone with little sweetness, finishes full and slightly bitter. Service was very good, even with the initial rush with the server coming by on several occasions to check on things. In all, I liked the food more than the beer but I have high hopes for the place and plan to return my next trip to Clarksville.

Been here twice now menu is good the wait staff could be a little more forthcoming on when things are available or not I understand last night being New Years Eve but the restaurant when we got there wasn't that busy and we had to wait 5+min for someone to even notice is sitting there (not good) as i said we had the southwest egg-rolls and appetizer tacos are good would definitely order the again also need a menu with al drink options available didn't know you had white-claw drinks the decor is nice and you can actually talk and have a conversation which I like.

Not worth it, food was blah and staff was rude. They allow reservations online 2 hours before but they don't honor them at the restaurant. Just don't allow us to make them online if you don't want to honor them.

Oh my heavens, we were SUPER hungry, but I promise the food was still 100% yummy. A couple of beers, a couple of fantastic burgers and absolutely to die for house-made potato chip nachos later and our bellies were delighted. Our server was great (though quite busy!) and even though they were busy we could still hear ourselves think which was nice.

Absolutely wonderful food! We had the potato chips nacho and they were delicious! Then husband had jaegerschnitzel and it was excellent!

Food was just ok! Service was good but wine selection was subpar. Need to expand your selection to include at least one sparkling wine. Ambiance was ok.

My husband and I went to Strawberry Alley twice. Once for brunch, the second time for lunch. For brunch I had the breakfast bowl and a mocktail, he had the breakfast burger, and our daughter had the grill cheese. I really enjoyed all the elements of my breakfast bowl and all the textures together danced on my pallet. My husband enjoyed the burger, but not the fries. The second time we went we got the remaining items, the egg rolls, burger, chicken, two cocktails, and the dessert. We really loved the southwest egg rolls and would recommend for sure. My husband's burger this time was a bit on the drier side. We've sat both outside and inside each time and scenery was beautiful. We were able to see the River from where we sat. Each time our waitresses were attentive, but not overbearing. They were able to effectively and efficiently answer all questions we had.

Visited on Tuesday lunch with extended family, all of us from out of town. Service was decent, but a tad slow. We had a table of 8. Kids meals are great quality, size and value. You MUST try the fried green tomatoes!!! Visited again on Saturday for lunch around 1:00, but didn't get a table until about 1:45 (There were 10 of us.) By 2:15, our orders had not been taken and they were switching from the brunch menu to dinner, so we asked to switch to the dinner menus. Fish tacos, burgers, and kids meals were the highlights. The beer batter fish was disappointing as it was small, tough and over cooked. We sent back one of those meals and they remade it a little less done. Tartar sauce was fresh and well made. Everyone was kind, but nothing was fast.

Went there just out of curiosity. The service can not be compared! Food is simple but delicious. In one month I have been back four times . It's that good . If you stop for lunch let me recommend the hot chicken sandwich . It's sooooo good

Fun atmosphere! Lots of large booths to accommodate 6. With a very broad ale menu offering flights or individual glasses. We tried a couple of dark beers and they were delicious. Our party had the pretzels to start And they didn't disappoint then we enjoyed our black bean burger, regular burger and salads all were very good. Although being a large restaurant The acoustics are still very good with booths to dine you can enjoy your company and conversation. The service is also very good our server came back several times to check on us and made recommendations on the menu easily. Located in downtown Clarkesville in the hip urban historic area offering an excellent place to stroll after your meal. Street parking only and we did have to walk a distance as there was no close parking.

Not much of an eat out place. More of a drinks and hang out spot. It seems classer than it truly is. Good lively energy. I love going on the weekends. Good place to meet people in the local area

Looking for a place to take our family for great food and to enjoy our evening. We hit pay dirt! I tried the Kolsh on our server Maggie's suggestion. Between her suggestion on the locally made beer and the Jagerschnitzel...I was very happy. Please understand that I travel and I eat, so I know what I'm talking about when I say this is a wonderful place to come and try when you are in Clarksville. Ask for Maggie.

Here I am reviewing again and truly hope management sees this. What on earth did you do to your chicken picatta?? Once upon a time it was great, pan fried with lots of yummy buttery, lemony sauce over the farro. It soaked in and was great. Different due to the farro and veg. Now, you deep fry the chicken. There is zero lemony, buttery sauce. You legit ruined this dish. I had it a few months ago and was appalled. I was hoping it was a fluke. Nope. Last night you did it like this again and truly from the bottom of my heart - it's horrible. You can't call this a picatta. Call it southern fried chicken over farro and root veg cause that's what it is. I'll never order this dish again unless you publicly announce a return to the original method and recipe. Why?? Why?? I love a good picatta. Why did you take that from us?

Don't forget the fried green tomatoes to start you will not regret it! The beer is delicious and the staff is so friendly! You are going to want to save room for dessert the mini mason jar desserts are to die for!!! Key Lime pie you won't regret it!

Food here was delicious. Service was also attentive and quick. They get busy pretty quick so I suggest being an early bird so you can get tables. The grits was delicious and I loved their fried green tomatoes. Definitely will be coming back.

Being an "ambassador" (one time keychain purchase that entitles the bearer to a larger glass for beer), we go here pretty often and guests always like it. Easy-going atmosphere and the back outdoor 2d story deck makes for nice sunsets while dining. Service is generally excellent and pretty quick. My go to's are the burgers (any are great), fried green tomatoes for an app, and the BBQ chicken salad is awesome. I usually sit with a Hefeweizen or an IPA but they have some of the better local craft beers around.

Great food! Great service! Strawberry Alley Ale Works is a scratch made kitchen and microbrewery with great beers. Good portions but not too much food. Try the Bourbon burger with fries. The southwest egg rolls are legit!! Good pricing on the menu.

Went for a buddy's birthday, & Got something as simple as a chicken bacon ranch pizza, and let me tell you what. I'd 1000% rather eat a pizza from little ceasers. We got 3 pizzas and they all were atrocious, shout out to the server/bartender for at least making the drinks strong in hopes we'd just get drunk and not notice.

Wonderful food, service, and ambience! Highly recommend for lunch or dinner. Dixie is a fabulous server! :)
