Best Halal Food Review - Kensington - New York - The Infatuation
"The halal cart on the corner of Church and McDonald Avenues is one of the best in NYC, mostly because of the bright red, tandoori-style marinade used on the chicken, which is spicier than most (the lamb is also excellent). A chicken pita is only $5, making it the best value in the neighborhood for lunch or dinner. The flavor varies a little depending on who is on the grill, and that’s one of the things we love about this spot." - Carina Finn
Love the staff here, Ahmed especially. Super nice and friendly and the cart is quite clean. Food is good, nothing to write home about but a great quick fix. The menu has some nice variety while not being too much. Highly recommend the combination over rice (AKA mix over rice) and the philly cheesesteak.

Amazing guy, super friendly and courteous. Great prices and great portion. Definitely comparable if not better than the famous Adel’s.

Best halal food I’ve ever had. Better than Adels and halal guys they have more sauces and the food was fresh.

Yelp
It's rare that you find a halal cart with good execution. The chicken in the mixed over rice was actually juicy and well cooked. The rice was seasoned well and the sauces were everything you'd expect. They put plenty of sauce on the top as well.
I'll be back if I'm in the area!

Yelp
Great halal cart on the uws. Hard to find ones that provide great flavor and great service. These guys don't skimp on anything and you get exactly what you expect for the price. They try to price for the students in the area only recently upped their prices by a $1 across the board but they are still levels above a lot of carts in the area. Bonus is the option for their spiced rice, wish it was available at night and not only during the day.
Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed

Chicken over rice: it is pretty greasy, I felt terrible after eating it; rice is relatively bland; overall, not much flavor, lots of grease, but not the worst halal that you can get; chicken is pretty tender, but also not enough flavor

Yelp
This halal cart is what keeps us Fordham students running.
I didn't grab any food today, but I've eaten here a handful of times and I can attest to the opinion that the food is pretty good. I usually get the chicken on rice with salad and I don't have any issues eating it. It's decent in flavor and texture, especially for the very affordable price. More times than not, I pass by here to grab a quick drink because they charge the best prices in the area.
Many students at the Lincoln Center campus praise this cart and for good reason.

Yelp
It's amazing, especially on a Sunday night nothing else around is open and when you just want a filling meal to go to bed happy. Lamb over rice is delicious. The guy is also very nice and loves the USA, hence his cart's name. Will keep this cart at the top of my list!
