"Just like its nearby counterpart Santouka, this ramen shop is the local branch of a Japanese chain. The menu highlights three varieties of miso-based ramen, with the Hokkaido-style version being a favorite. This full-bodied, umami-packed broth is accompanied by toppings including ground pork, corn, fried potato wedges, and grilled pork. Ramen Misoya is open for indoor dining and takeout." - Naomi Waxman

Little hole in the wall place with 5 tables and a dozen counter seats. Each broth is very distinct from another and the ingredients are well prepared. Given the complexity of each broth, ground pork that comes with each ramen seems unnecessary. Chashu and eggs are also very well done. Overall, an excellent place to go on a cold rainy day.

Google
This is my favorite ramen place of all time! It's so good. I wish it was closer to me, but making the drive is so worth it. I always get their vegetarian Hokkaido. The staff is always friendly too! Never a bad time here.

Victoria

Google
Hokkaido spicy ramen was pretty amazing. The broth had a lot of depth and was spicy (not too spicy). Loved the toppings (corn, green onions). The Kara Age was really juicy and it pairs wonderfully with the peanut sauce. Had the Aashi draft and it’s very refreshing with the ramen. Loved it!

Had an opportunity to visit this place again after 6 years during my trip to Chicago area. I have to admit I’m impressed that the flavor and the taste hasn’t changed. Ordered spicy Hakaido ramen and the broth is so much rich and savory; it’s spicy but not overpowering. The noodles are cooked to perfection.

Google
Definitely the best Remen place in Chicagoland, directly operated by a Japan's very famous Miso Ramen chain "Tadokoro Shouten". You can have real Japanese Miso Ramen here, and actually I like their's better than Tadokoro in Japan. They offer Spicy Ramen for those who love super spicy taste, but if you want to enjoy deep miso flavor, avoid it and order Spicy Miso on the side instead. Enjoy the miso ramen as is first, and add just a little bit of spicy miso in the middle to change the taste. Personally, Hokkaido miso is the best with deep miso flavor, and Ise miso is also good with a bit lighter flavor. If you know real Japanese miso ramen, you will not be disappointed.

Google
Easily in my top 3, and I've had a LOT of ramen (including in Japan). I like that they have several different styles - all of which are delicious, but my favorite is Hokkaido style for its rich and savory broth. Noodles are classic medium thickness (not a fan of the thin ones some places have), and toppings are top quality. Their chashu has a nice grilled flavor which is different from other places but works. Couple that with some Asahi draft and you're in for a good time. Highly recommended.

Google
Authentic food with SO MUCH FLAVOR. Ramen is made to order and let me tell you. It's amazing. The Ramen came with potato wedges in it! Soaked up so much flavor yet still crispy. Delicious. Everything was great. We had 2 vegetarians in our group and it was also their first time having Ramen ever. They said they will come back also. Ridiculously good food.

Google
My favorite authentic ramen spot, I have dreams about the ramen here sometimes its that good ❤️

Farah A.

Yelp
I've been here twice now and the food is really good. Ramen was simply amazing. The first time I came here had a little bit of a wait to get a Ramen but this time it arrived really quick. It's super delicious. It's very filling and bursting with flavors. I wish they had more broth options. They offer all the ramen with pork broth and they have a couple of vegetarian options. Hope they introduce beef and chicken broth too. Overall , I had a good experience. I would definitely be back again.

Yelp
My Ramen Misoya visit can only be described as a roller coaster experience. Two of my absolutely favorite food items in one sitting: fried chicken(karaage) and Ramen. Two things that I've probably consumed more in the past 10 years than most people in a lifetime. This was a chance I couldn't pass up. But seldom do I experience such disappointment, yet such euphoria in the same meal. Karaage: boy oh boy. Not only is this the best karaage, but this might be top 5 best chicken anything I've had ever. It's that good. Tender juicy chicken thighs(a chicken breast can only dream to be this juicy)....and that coating? The airy crispy batter is everything. As im eating, I'm sad that it will soon have to end. It's that good!! Cha su ramen: ok guys, I'm going to be honest. This just isnt it. First of all, how busy can a single bowl be? There's are actually so many ingredients, that it actually makes it hard to eat without the bowl being larger. But quantity does not equal quality. I'll admit the noodles are nicely chewy and the egg is immaculate. The perfect gooey ramen egg. That's where it ends. The chasu itself is way over grilled and has crossed over to the thick and tough to chew category. The ratio of cabbage is off. The potato wedge is unnecessary adds nothing. But the broth is the most flagrant offense here. Where's the rich flavor? Where's that umami? There are simply too many technical flaws to overlook. The karaage is worth the trip 10 times over. I came for the ramen, but if I left without experiencing the chicken karaage, there would have been a void left in my soul!

Yelp
There was a reason I didn't come back after so many years. My sister had never been here and wanted to meet up with a friend. I thought I would give it another shot, but I was less than satisfied. Aside from the portions and service being good, the ramen broth is sub par. Cute ramen shop, but the space is small that it can feel congested. It was fun to be seated up at the ramen bar though. Apps: Karaage chicken could use much more flavor. Even after I asked for extra lemon to squeeze on top. Shrimp tempura was really greasy. Dumpling wonton texture was good, but I'm not a fan of chives, and it was too much. Corn croquette was decent and fell apart after the first bite. But with all the apps, there was a generic sauce for each one, except the dumplings. The sauce was just missing a component. Ramen: We ordered 3 different ramen. Tokyo cha-shu, ISE cha-shu, and Tonkotsu spicy. It was so, so salty with no rich pork flavor or umami to balance the taste. It was disappointing to say the least. Our friend did not finish her spicy tonkotsu, while my sister and I fished out the noodles, eggs, and cha-shu so we didn't have to endure the salty broth. The egg though was cooked to a perfect jammy yolk. But the cha-shu was overly grilled to my liking. I've had better miso flavored ramen at other restaurants, but this place is not of of them. There is a vegetarian menu as well. Though Ramen Misoya is not for me, it may be for you.

Mitz P.

Yelp
Small place but great Ramen (can expect wait lines when busy), perfect on a cold day. Flavor wise excellent and great service. Do wish the oiliness was a little less and that had more leas fried options for apps.

Jason C.

Yelp
Got the Hokkaido Cha-Shu Ramen for $18.80 and small order of Karrage. I'm not a miso flavored fan, but definitely enjoyed their version without any reservation. The service was awesome, food came out quickly and water was filled without asking for more water. They have bar seating that goes around the kitchen and tables on the opposite side. I got here before 5 and it wasn't busy but the place got packed little after 5pm, so I would recommend you go before dinner rush.

Domenic M.

Yelp
When Ramen Misoya first opened, tables were at a premium, and there's a good reason for that: this suburbs spot truly hits the right notes for a simple ramen concept that gets the basics right. Try the chicken karaage for a treat. 90% of the time, it comes out perfect, and 100% of the time you'll probably find it superior to what you're used to.

AnaMar G.

Yelp
This is our FAVORITE ramen around the suburbs! We've tried others in Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg, etc and this one tops them all! Flavor - on point, service - on point and always looking forward to seeing the young man who serves us every time, ambience is always lively and positive. Highly recommend

Ron V.

Yelp
Drive 5 more minutes down the road if you want authentic flavor. Idk what everyone else is talking about. The service and the portions were great, but this place needs to be on Kitchen Nightmares. Where's Gordan Ramsey? The ground beef tasted like it should've been in chili. The noodles tasted like spaghetti. The broth had no flavor except for salt. Any ramen place that serves potato wedges in ramen should be avoided. Potato wedges??? This ain't KFC. Cup-o-noodles tastes better than this place. 5 stars on the service and portions, but now I need to rinse my mouth out with rubbing alcohol.

Jai B.

Yelp
Super tasty and lots of different combo options between meat and veggie broths and add ins. Could have made my food spicier when I asked for a 9/10 spice level. I get not wanting to over spice someone's food but I felt like they gave me a 6/10 which was kinda weak. Also no paper menu options as far as we could see only online version

Sunny P.

Yelp
I had an exceptional experience at this authentic ramen shop! The virtual menu with photos of each ramen bowl was a convenient and visual way for customers. The variety of options and the ability to customize toppings added a personal touch to the experience. I highly recommend the crispy potato croquette!! I got the vegetarian ramen, I was thoroughly impressed by the depth of flavors. My friend chose the most popular ramen on the menu, and we both devoured our bowls until we were very full. The interior of the shop maximizes the space to accommodate as many tables and chairs as possible. I especially recommend this place to those in the suburbs. If you're seeking authentic and flavorful ramen, this spot is a gem that shouldn't be missed!

Yelp
I stopped by Ramen Misoya because I happened to be in the area, a rare occurrence. I like that that they are focused on the miso broths unlike seemingly every other ramen joint which focuses on tonkotsu broths. This last time I went, I ordered the Hokkaido Chashu Ramen because it was chilly out and some warm miso broth sounded delightful. I also got extra ramen egg because I was very hungry. The noodles have a great texture and the broth has a nice, strong miso flavor. The chashu that came were in relatively thin slices but they were flavorful and tender. Unfortunately, my ramen broth was very salty and made it unenjoyable for me to sip the broth as I usually like to. Furthermore, the ramen egg seemed to be a bit overcooked with some yolk that has clearly turned a light yellow color. This ended up making the experience overall somewhat disappointing. I did try my friend's ise miso broth and preferred that over mine. Service was fine given they were at full capacity. They do get quite busy so be prepared to wait for a table! When you walk in, the lobby area feels quite dated and only has a few chairs. I would prefer waiting in the car... and the dining area itself is perhaps in need of a remodel also. Prices are good since their portion sizes are generous. Unless I'm really feeling miso ramen again I think I'll just go to Santouka in the Mitsuwa Marketplace nearby. Food: 3/5 Service: 3.5/5 Price: 4/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Overall: 3/5

Lexi G.

Yelp
Ramen was really good but the fried shrimp is what made it for me. Especially the sauce. Service was fast and waitress was on top of everything.

Wei-Mien H.

Yelp
Didn't visit for years after Covid. Seems they changed the all the ramens. Before regular ramen will come with two slides pork, now it only came with the braises pork. If you want sliced pork, you have to order ChaShu $19.3 to have three slices. Before pandemic they gave you 5 slices. I understood it is parts of inflation but come on. Don't you feel this is way too much. Will never come back. There are more reasonable price ramens around.

Eunae Y.

Yelp
Been going here for years and it still hits. Great for either take-out or dine-in. Miso ramen with chashu pork and chicken karaage are an absolute must have and the fried oysters are great too

ALice A.

Yelp
Wow this place gets packed real quick! We got here 15 mins after they opened and 80% of the restaurant was filled. We were lucky and found 2 seats at the counter by the door. I wouldn't want to sit there during the winter time when the door open and closes with blasts of cold wind coming in. We ordered HOKKAIDO Cha-Shu Ramen and TOKYO Normal Ramen. Both were delicious! The broth was flavorful. The noodles were cooked to perfection. I do wish the eggs was more runny. Ours was a bit overcooked. Is it a date night atmosphere? Not really... It is just a small restaurant with delicious ramen. You order, eat, then leave. There is nothing romantic about this place lol We also ordered gyoza but our waiter forgot. By the time we finished our ramen, we were so full and had him remove the charge on our bill. I think the portions are decent sized. I wasn't able to finish mine. This place is great to visit on a cold winter day! Will be back for more yummy ramen!

Frank C.

Yelp
Best, most authentic Ramen ever. Only wish the place was bigger so they could get more people into enjoy the food.

Coco K.

Yelp
We came here for an early dinner. This is about the fourth time I've been here. The place was empty but was packed by the time we left. We had croquettes and fried oysters for appetizers and the chashu ramen for the main. Everything was delicious. Staff were friendly and attentive. Location and parking are not ideal but do not deter me from coming back each time.

Ho T.

Yelp
Hokkaido cha shu ramen was a decent portion. The cha shu is not too soft, nor too hard. Nice orange tint to the egg yolk I only wish it was more runny. The noodles have a sturdy, chewy texture. The pork mince had a mushy texture and tasted salty. Both the corn and the bamboo shoots have a can taste to them.

Matt R.

Yelp
This place is amazing. The ramen is soo fresh tasting and bold flavor. The noodles are nice and chewy, the broth had a rich and deep flavor. The toppings are amazing and done perfectly. The chicken katsu and pork belly were done perfectly. The charbroiled taste was perfect and balanced. The service was amazing and very fast as usually. Every time I've been here the service was exceptional. The place is nice and small and very cozy feeling. It's a must try if you're in Chicago or near by suburbs. We drove 45 minutes just to have ramen. I missed living around the corner from here years ago. This place will forever hold a place in my heart.

Dana M.

Yelp
Today my son wanted to try the Mango Mochi Ice Cream as his birthday treat. He liked it so much that by the time I turned around it was gone. He said "It was really really good" Service was great! Thank you for making my son's birthday a happy one!!!

Gabi R.

Yelp
Sooooo good. Broth is so rich and delicious. The service is quick and friendly, always tending to requests. It's a very cozy and welcoming environment.

Lily A.

Yelp
The ramen here is very good! It's definitely a popular spot, and you may need to wait as the size of the restaurant is on the smaller side. However, it's definitely worth it and I would recommend!

Barbara K.

Yelp
The broth and chashu is the best. Big bowls of ramen. Can add spice and don't forget the egg. Gotta try it.

Sajani P.

Yelp
The food was amazing! Definitely start by going on Yelp and joining the waitlist. The small little restaurant does tend to fill up fast on Friday-Sunday evenings. The service is fast and the waitress had great options for us vegetarian folks! It is quiet enough for a conversation but can feel congested for sure as it is a small space. I hope they will get a bigger space so everyone can sit and enjoy! The menu is all online so we pre-looked at it prior to going but quickly changed based on her recommendations. Please give this little mom and pop place a try! Winter is here Chicagoans and what better time than ramen!

Frank L.

Yelp
Ramen Misoya is a pretty solid Ramen restaraunt in the Mount Prospect area. I had the spicy vegetarian ramen noodle bowl which was tasty. I would recommend trying it out, it's probably better if you dine in, just note it is on the pricier end - expect to pay around $15-$20 per bowl of ramen.

Vlad G.

Yelp
Food it delicious it for real the best place who wants to eats authentic Misu with ramen It like hidden jem Staff very friendly Service is very good Ambience it good Very clean Even when you eat so close to kitchen ( it open kitchen) you can't smell anything Only nice smell of your food But it again It authentic Japanese Ramen food Small but nice place Most important it food

Georgette V.

Yelp
The food and service were fantastic. We started with gyoza and I added bean sprouts to my ramen. The chicken katsu was made to perfection. This is my second or third time here. Highly recommend this place. Pro tip: go at off peak times to avoid long lines.

Embra B.

Yelp
Ramen is delicious. Very flavorful. Chill environment and good to come here with groups or solo. Staff was professional and friendly.

Berni C.

Yelp
What's not to like in this authentic artisanal ramen resto? World's best! Service is brisk and efficient. In spite of 3 groups of 2's, 4's and 3 people ahead of us they manage to sit us up within 10 minutes! not bad for a waitlist! Of course, the food! World's best ramen! I opted for the lighter Tokyo normal ramen... So healthfully delish with 2 big slices of silky tofu and open face hardboiled egg! Sheer soup galore! Ambience is casual with friendly vibes. It beckons to have you come several more times in the future in your dreams or in person!

Tara F.

Yelp
Delicious, and great service. Waited just a couple minutes at 12:15p Saturday. Attentive staff. HOKKAIDO SPICY MISO RAMEN was delicious. Base comes w 1 piece chashu, but you can add 2 extra pieces as a side. The ISE NORMAL has a more "mature" flavor as the menu says, it's just not quite for me as compared to the miso flavor.

Archana P.

Yelp
Food has NEVER missed here, it has always hit the spot. Very well spiced, not too watery- broth was very delicious. Noodle consistency was amazing, perfect in between of thick and thin. Awesome vegetarian options. Service is a little on the slow side but that is because it is a smaller place.

Eugene S.

Yelp
Nice place in Mount Prospect to grab a meal. The broth is good. I'd come back again with friends and family.

Gabby G.

Yelp
Story time (you can keep scrolling if you want): It was snowing and a super cold day but I was craving Ramen. There's no good Authentic Ramen places where I live so I made my boyfriend drive us an hour away so we could try this place (real love I know ) Let me tell you, we were NOT disappointed. The service was fantastic, we were seated within like 3 mins and our waitress was very kind. Ordering was a breeze and our food came out hot and fresh. We ordered the Ise Kaarage Ramen, the Ise fried Shrimp ramen, and takoyaki. The shrimp in our ramen was sooooo buttery and crispy it was seriously the best tempura I've ever had and the highlight of the dish in my opinion. I can't describe it any further, you'll need to check it out for yourself. Overall I was left super impressed and satisfied. For a random hour trek out in the snow to satisfy my craving, this place was incredibly worth it and I'll definitely be coming back.

Wazim I.

Yelp
One of the best ramen I've had. Great place try the different kinds of miso flavors originating from different parts of Japan. They also give great descriptions for the flavor profile each one offers. I love the authentic ramen shop ambience too. And the service was prompt and very friendly.

Dan J.

Yelp
Since it was freezing outside, I figured some hot Ramen would do the trick. The place was pretty busy and based off the menu, they offer quite a variety of Ramen. After deciding on what to get, I got the Hokkaido kimchi. Very flavorful broth with great noodles finished off with some very good kimchi for a little spice and heat. Definitely recommend.

Susan G.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the Ramen experience here. The broth had so much depth and flavor and I like the noodles they used also. You can tell there's attention to detail and the people running the kitchen know what they're doing. We sat at the bar. Enjoyed the chicken karaage, and gyoza. I had the ISE Cha-Shu Ramen and it had depth and good flavor! My friend had the Hokkaido spicy ramen and she loved it. We will definitely add this ramen place to our rotation! Sorry no photo this time as we really wanted to take in the experience and chow down!

Mirella K.

Yelp
RUN, don't walk, to Ramen Misoya!! My new fav ramen place in the Chicago suburbs. This restaurant definitely lives up to the hype - I have heard numerous amazing things about Ramen Misoya, as well as read a plethora of 5 star Yelp reviews about this place. It's a quaint restaurant with an authentic feel to it. If you come with 1 other person, you most likely will be sat at their "bar" (not actually a bar, but looks like a sushi bar except with ramen). The service was great, everyone was so nice and my water was constantly re-filled. The ramen is on a whole other level. I got the kimchi ramen and my friend got the spicy ramen. Both were a 10/10 - rich with flavor, super filling, and overall delicious. They have 3 different broths - Hokkaido, Tokyo, and Ise. I recommend getting the Hokkaido broth which is their standard and most popular broth. I cannot wait to return and try their other ramen dishes!! Highly recommend Ramen Misoya!!

Dave J.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised. A large bowl of ramen that tasted good. The broth was thick with lots of umami. Will go again.

Maggie E.

Yelp
Everything was perfect. My daughter and I just loved everything, honestly. Perfect miso, perfect chicken. The service was fast too

Noah P.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots in the area. Every time I have someone in from out of town I take them here and they love it. The spicy Hokkaido and curry ramen are my two favorites. Extremely rich and flavorful broth.

Jasmine N.

Yelp
This is my second time coming here. I didn't have to wait, which was great! I tried the TOKYO Miso Tonkotsu Ramen. It's sweet and creamy.

Ariana G.

Yelp
This restaurant is located in a small plaza. Came here with some friends after going to a pumpkin patch. The restaurant itself is kinda small and it was very hot inside, making it kind of uncomfortable to eat. I understand the kitchen takes up half the space, but still. The A/C was clearly not working that day. Also, the menu is kind of difficult to follow but I still managed. Hokkaido spicy miso: This honestly was not bad, but here are my comments. Their ramen is definitely more on the saltier side. The flavor was pretty good and the level of spiciness was just right. However, I thought the potato wedges were very random and I'm pretty sure they don't belong in ramen. I didn't even eat them because they just ended up soggy in the broth. I'm also not a fan of ground beef in my ramen either. I wish it had more mushrooms. Other than that, I had no other issues with my meal. The noodles were made good and so was the egg. The yolk was made perfect! and I love me some corn in my ramen. In conclusion, I'm not sure I would return to this place.

Manuel A.

Yelp
Fantastic food line up and excellent customer service. Nice and cozy. This is our go to place for any type of celebration.

rosemarie d.

Yelp
Located right next-door to a barbershop in case you don'thappen to see it the first time you drive by. The noodles were nice and al dente but I found the Ramen broth to be a little bland even though I got spicy. And I don't know what was going on that day with the Gyoza but mine were burned almost to the point where I could not eat them

Hassan A.

Yelp
The best ramen place in town! You can go just about any time of the day and you'll never be disappointed!

Gus H.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best ramen joints in the west suburbs. The cha shu pieces are thicker and have an awesome char-grill flavor. The spicy miso has a decent amount of spice to it but not overwhelmingly hot. Not pictured but the chicken karaage is also very good.

Sagar T.

Yelp
All time favorite ramen place ever; I've tried others, and while they were good, nothing has topped ramen misoya Service is great, quick, friendly Ambience is chill - I just wish their location was bigger but food is well worth the wait I go for the spicy Hokkaido always and add the karage

Kayla S.

Yelp
The service is always amazing and they definitely are fast with it! Always super busy but they always try their best to get us eating as soon as possible. Love everything about this place!

Isabella Q.

Yelp
I love this spot so much. Definitely my all time favorite ramen place! They have the BEST ramen and my absolute favorite Shrimp tempura. I am so picky when it comes to shrimp, but i order it as an appetizer and in my ramen EVERY TIME here. You will not be disappointed! Its small and quaint but it gets real busy real fast! Definitely recommend takeout, but its so worth to dine in just for the experience.
