Old Montreal’s Le Petit Dep Opens a Charming Café on St-Sulpice Street | Eater Montreal

"I'm charmed by the new spot at 461 St‑Sulpice, just a few blocks from its St‑Paul home base and directly across from the Notre‑Dame Basilica. It takes an 'if it ain’t broke' approach, mirroring the original by serving 49th Parallel coffee, pastries from Hochelaga bakery Arhoma, sandwiches, ice cream and ready-to-eat options like salads, while also selling beer (with a focus on smaller Quebec producers) and other gourmet products. The space continues the refined vintage atmosphere by designer Thomas Csano and features an eye-catching aqua storefront with flower boxes and hand-painted lettering, making it as photogenic as the first. It’s Le Petit Dep’s first expansion within Montreal and is open at 461 St‑Sulpice from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday–Thursday and 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday–Sunday." - Tim Forster

The CUTEST little grocery shop - awesome for buying treats/souvenirs for folks back home.

Love this little gem of a shop & café! One of the best Matcha lattes I have ever had, with wonderful treats, (many gluten free and vegan choices) locally made sandwiches, bowls, beverages, souviners, and such to take with you. Great service and lovely decor! Only 1 star rating less than 5 stars (for atmosphere) due to the very loud music playing both mornings I visited.

I stumbled upon here during my trip to Montreal, and I’m so glad I did! The charming storefront instantly caught my eye🟢— it looks like something straight out of a storybook. 🍁Inside, the place was buzzing with energy: full of people, warm conversations, and a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The coffee was fantastic — smooth, rich, and clearly made with care☕️

I love this place. The coffee is good and they always have a special flavor. The Ube Lavender today was especially good. Great souvenirs and Quebec items in the shop, not tacky and worth taking home. I always come back here, cute cozy and caffeinated

I visited this café on a Sunday afternoon to order an affogato, as I had a good experience here before. While waiting for my drink, I saw a mouse going in and out of the coffee bar area. I immediately informed the staff, but their response was, "That's normal here in Old Port." This reaction was very concerning. Food safety should always be a top priority, and the fact that the staff seemed unconcerned about a mouse in the food preparation area is unacceptable. It made me lose all trust in the establishment. I couldn't even drink my coffee because of the disgust. I will not be returning and will be filing a food safety complaint. I do not recommend this place to anyone who values cleanliness and basic hygiene standards.

This cafe is super cute and has a really cool kitschy design. It has a bunch of antique furniture and just a cool eclectic vibe overall. It's also half old timey general Store. So they sell a lot of cute food stuffs and souvenirs. We ordered an iced coffee and the giant Oreo. Unfortunately, the giant Oreo although extremely intriguing was a bust. The cookie was so thick and so dry. It did taste like it was made with black cocoa so it did have that Oreo flavor but we literally had to take off the top cookie to even render it edible at all. The cream was good and it helped. But I'm so shocked that they had that for sale because I would be hard pressed to believe that anybody liked the sandwich as it was sold. The ice mocha was good but we got it in a paper cup and the paper cup was starting to disintegrate.

Experience the perfect blend of cozy ambiance and tantalizing flavors at our cafe, where the aroma of freshly brewed coffee meets the delightful sweetness of mouthwatering cakes!

This is on of those hidden gems that shines like a polished quartz than a diamond. This cafe is located near the Basilica and is more interesting to me,as there are fewer tourists here. Prices are decent. Come in and rest your weary soul. The decor is worth it.

Exact atmosphere I was looking for. Canadian French vibe with delicious crafted cappuccino and pastries with a relaxing seating area to enjoy the treat. Come by alone to read, meet with a friend, or business meet.
