I have zero complaints about the food, in fact, the fish was exceptional. Overall, the food was very good. The service, however, was so clumsy and unprofessional it crossed the line from bad into absurd. And strangely enough, that’s what made us start to enjoy it , it felt almost like unintentional comedy.
Even the ordering process was a chore. The server kept repeating the price for the 1KG portion again and again, even after we had agreed. I’m not exaggerating, it took us about ten minutes just to place a simple order. And don’t get me started on dessert: when we asked what ice cream they had, instead of answering, they literally brought out convenience store ice creams, the kind on a stick, wrapped in plastic, for us to choose from. It was surreal.
Napkins weren’t provided until we finally took them from another table ourselves. After awkwardly opening the champagne, instead of stepping back and letting us toast, the server hovered around, fussing and getting in the way. And to top it off, they forgot the ice bucket and simply left the bottle on a side table, which really summed up the whole experience.
It wasn’t exactly a bad evening, the food carried it, and the absurdity of the service almost made it entertaining. But at a place this pricey, we definitely expected a much higher level of professionalism.
