I recently dined at The Moon's Daughter and, unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. Despite the restaurant not being particularly busy, service was incredibly slow. It took around 45 minutes just to receive our first round of drinks, and subsequent rounds took another 30 minutes each. To make matters worse, the staff completely forgot to bring the last drink my wife ordered. While the drinks themselves were well-made, the delays were frustrating.
As for the food, it was decent but certainly not worth the price tag. The "sharable" scallops dish, which was misleadingly advertised as plural, arrived as a single scallop--far from what we expected for a sharable plate. The lamb chops, while tasty, came in a very small portion of just four bite-sized pieces. The eggplant side was the biggest disappointment, arriving overcooked to the point of being mushy, resembling mashed potatoes in texture.
For a total cost of around $175 for two people, the experience did not justify the price. Given the slow service, small portions, and the average quality of the food, there are many better options in San Antonio where you can enjoy better food, service, and value. Sadly, I would not recommend The Moon's Daughter, and I don't plan to return.
