The Steak House

"The iconic Regent Hong Kong has reopened with several new F&B outlets. One of them is The Steak House commanding sweeping harbour views through its tall windows. As its name suggests, the menu revolves around steak – from Italy, Spain, Korea, Japan, Australia, and the U.S. The Moroccan chef ages his own beef - ask the servers. Season your favourite cuts with rock salt, charcoal salt, yuzu salt or the array of sauces and mustards on offer." - Michelin Inspector

Excellent service by the service team at the Steak House. From the warm greetings at the door by Genie, to Kelvin the somm preparing my wine, decanting it prior to my arrival to ensure the best window for enjoyment, as well as the rest of the staff, whose names I forgot (sorry guys! a little too much to drink!). Now for the food, solid execution by the kitchen team. The only complaint I got is the lobster mac.... Not a fan. But everything else was pretty f'ing good. Love the fact that you guys got fresh oysters to start the night with... great with some heavy pours of champagne by the glass! Definitely would come back, hopefully window side!

Had an amazing dinner at The Steak House at the Regent Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui. The atmosphere was cozy and elegant, perfect for a relaxing night out. Service was outstanding—Charles and Natolles were incredibly friendly and attentive, and really made us feel welcome. The biggest surprise of the night? The grilled prawns! So flavorful, smoky, and perfectly cooked. Definitely a must-try. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food, excellent service, and a lovely dining environment in Hong Kong.

I had dinner at the Steak House to celebrate my birthday and what an outstanding meal it was! We had King Crab Cake, Pan-Seared Scallop with Caviar & Oysters to start. The Crab Cake was perfectly seasoned, with generous chunks of fresh crab meat. It was fried to an attractive golden brown without being greasy. The oysters were so fresh & plump, the unmistakable brininess the moment you tipped one into your mouth brought to mind the ocean where they came from. Not to be outdone, the Scallops were seared to perfection so they remained succulent. For mains, we ordered the Chateaubriand and the Rib Eye steak. The sliced Chateaubriand with its beautiful red centre was a sight to behold, and the promised tenderness & juiciness did not disappoint. The dinner ended with yet another birthday cake! It was a Chocolate Lava cake, which was decadent and wickedly delicious! The service team together with Sommelier Kelvin are to be commended for the high level of efficiency & professionalism. They made good recommendations when asked, and their attentiveness to details made the entire dinner a pleasure. Thank you 🤩

The Steak House of Regent Hotel Hong Kong is really famous for its steak, especially for the dry-aged. We really longed for tasting the exceptional cuisine and traditional service. To be honest, you couldn't find another steakhouse that is better than the one in the regent hotel. In the first place, the service is excellent, and the waiter was familiar with the cuisine and hence the characteristics of the wine list. They introduced 3 types of knife ( From France, Japan and German), 8 knives in total, which are specialized for cutting the steak. Some are made of the spaceship materials....etc. Nonethelessly, diners would be able to choose one out of eight. That's the traditional service of the Steak house since it was in the intercontinental era. We have ordered the bone marrow with sea urchin and unlimited salad bar as the starter. Main with the dry aged tenderloin (8oz), & surf and turf, including the lobster thermidor and USDA super prime ribeye (16oz), which was supplemented with thousand-layer potato beef dripping and lobster macaroni. The meal was perfectly ended with the pre-ordered cake, Mille Feuille. Must try once in a life!!!

Excellent steak, salad bar and view! The staff is nice and we tried tomahawk steak, Korean steak and the tastes were juicy and delicious. We all love the food.

Google
One of the best steaks I ever had! Smokey and charred flavor. Better than some of the renowned steakhouses I have been. On the pricey side and it is so worth it. The salad buffet is a good meal on its own. But a steak is a must. The onion soup is superb. The service staff super friendly and attentive. Definitely a place to check out if you are in HK!

Google
The steak selection was great, with some dry age steak if you like that cheesy taste. Overall the appetisers are surprisingly better than the steak. The crab cakes, lobster bisque and the beef Tarte. The beef cheateubriand was a bit let down honestly, great texture but not a lot of taste. The sea bass was amazing though. Also weirdly their tomahawk steaks portions were way too big even for a party of 6. It was 120oz. We wanted a portion of around 40-60oz. But probably next time. As for the service and atmosphere it was immaculate and very good.

Came here for weekend brunch Excellent service, very friendly and helpful staff with sincere attitude 🥰 Place is nice with lots of window I wish the tables are further apart from each other. Feeling 🤪 with kids around, with that surrounding but the food was excellent, don’t know if I’m at a fine dining place or not. Yes, buffet appetiser is very high quality The cold cuts and cheese choices are nicely chosen and presented. Salad are fresh. Even the salmon and tuna are great, I took more than usual 😛 Tenderloin and strip loin are cooked nicely, aroma of the charcoal burn is just right. Dessert are great also, remember to leave some room, will take more than one piece of cake for sure 😆

Yelp
Enjoyed a delicious meal here. We shared a 64 oz Tomahawk with many sides. Amazing salad bar. Service is great.

Yelp
The Steak House is a decent place for steak. They have a nice selection, great presentation and good service. FOOD Steak - some of the better steaks i've had in HK. Salad bar - great selection of food SERVICE They are attentive here. There's some unnecessary stuff here that is kind of neat. For example, your table has a salt platter with a bunch of different ones to try. Then there's the guy that comes out with a knife selection for you to choose your own steak knife. The light up menu is a cool touch. All restaurant with dark settings should have these.

Yelp
I went there with my wife for our wedding anniversary. We enjoyed great variety of salad bar, the best steak I had in HK (20oz chateaubriand) and tasty dessert. The staff were welcoming and attentive. It wasn't cheap but definitely worth the price.

Yelp
Wanna enjoy a fantastic view of Victoria Harbor? Come and grab something inside InterContinental and you would not be let down. Probably has the best view, if not one of, in this area; the steak house Winebar not only serves regular soft drinks and cocktails, but also provides a handful of light snacks. Make sure you ask for the seats right next to the window to guarantee a better seating. Great ginger rose tea, very refreshing to begin with; and delicious mango ice cream to conclude. Loved the short stay.

Yelp
Wow is all I could say, this is a true 5 star restaurant. They have a knife cart to choose your knife for your steak. Blew me away. The steak was amazing . They had different seasons to choose from . The view was great Everyone in our group enjoyed the food The service was amazing This is a sure hit

Yelp
Everything at The Steak House is good! My family came here for Father's Day. Despite having a full house, they were able to maintain exceptional service. Ambiance here is kind of standard Hong Kong 5-star hotel- formal and classy. With the night view of Victoria Habor, I guess they don't need to make too much efforts other than dimming the lights. As soon as we ordered, a few buckets of fresh-out-of-the-oven bread were brought to our table. They consisted of mini baguettes, crispy flat bread and... Well I don't remember because the baguette was so good that it was the only bread I ate! It was crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. For starters, we ordered crab cake and beef tartare to share. Some of us had the salad bar as well as starter while I had it as my main. Crab cake was very nice. I didn't have the beef tartare but those who did all said it's very good. I tried the lobster bisque, which was full of flavor but not too heavy. My main- the salad bar- was amazing- see my tips for salad bar. I was so full from starters and my salad that I didn't try anyone else's main. Most people had steak, and they all thought their steaks were cooked just right, whether they asked for medium or medium well, and were succulent. On to desserts- the desserts here are huge! They were each the size of a small cake!m. We had a chocolate fondant, apple crumble and a baked apricot and fig flan. Chocolate fondant was not too sweet, just the way I like it. The apricot flan was my favorite. It came with fresh apricots and figs, making it a refreshing dessert after a heavy meal. The meal was very expensive though. I don't think we will come back here unless if we are celebrating a very special occasion or taking an important client.

Yelp
As a New Yorker, I think I know steak. It's in our DNA. This is my favorite steak house in the world. I have been here many times over the course of a decade. The choice of meat is typically American or Australian beef. It's cooked to perfection. Medium rare? You get that. Medium well, you get that. It's always spot on unlike many steak houses. The signature salad bar is an excellent complement to start your meal. The choice of steak knife, assortment of salts and mustards gives it it's own uniqueness.

Yelp
This may be the best steakhouse in the WORLD!!!!!! Is it expensive- Yes. Is it worth it - Yes Everything is over the top here and done a notch above all other steakhouses. The food is as good as any other great steakhouse, but what sets this place apart is the following Best view on the planet. Their menus light up and the words are large and easy to read They have a knife cart to select a knife perfect for your cut of meat They have a dozen salts with tasting notes brought to the table They have a mustard and enhancement cart Their wine list is fantastic Impeccable service This place is special

Yelp
The Steak House has been in the Intercontinental (formerly named Regent) for at least 30 years. It was one of the first steak houses ever in Hong Kong. Located on the lower floor of the hotel it doesn't have the breathtaking view of Hong Kong Island as you have in the lobby bar or coffee shop. The setting is elegant, the chairs very comfortable. Service is attentive, knowledgeable but not overly friendly. After taking your order they will bring a selection of steak knives to choose from which is a nice gimmick. They have a huge wine list which you would expect from the Interconti. All parts of the world are covered. For me the wines are totally overpriced and you need some time to find a good valued bottle. The other option is to pay HK$ 500 for corkage and bring your own bottle. Food wise all the classics for a steak house are on the menu. You can find oysters, lobster bisque, crab cakes, beef tartar, Caesar salad for appetizers. I always go for the salad bar, the selection is great and it's not too filling before the steak. You can select from US, Australian Wagyu or Japanese Kobe beef which come in different sizes and cuts. And there is a good selection of side dishes and sauces to go with it. Quality of the food is great, all the steaks are cooked to perfection. I have been a huge fan of the Steak House in the past. For me nowadays I find the sizes too big. A filet mignon starts at 8 oz, a strip at 14oz, I'd prefer them to also offer smaller sizes. And in the past couple of years I found that they went up with the prices too much which is not justified. There are better choices now which are far better value for money.

Yelp
This place is outstanding. The view, service, food and drinks are all top notch. The prices are in line with top steakhouses in the States, so don't shy away from this place. The opulence here sets it apart. You get to choose your steak knife from a selection of 10 knives; they serve 8 different salts; like mustard? They have 15 to choose from! On top of it all, the service is 10/10. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants EVER. The quintessential high-end steakhouse with all the service you would expect. It definitely lives up to the Michelin Star rating! Any cut of beef is a winner, but the lamb chops are also very good. Sides are small enough to share. I recommend the salad bar as a starter, wonderful vegetables, meats and cheeses. An off the menu favorite is the Jack Daniels butter sauce to compliment and steak. The desserts are very generous and meant to be shared.

Yelp
Ambiance/decor-5 Service-5 Food-4 Strikeouts-0/3 There was almost nothing wrong with this place at all. I came in with super low expectations and came out quite content. I try to only give 5 stars if this place totally wowed me. Judging from the 4 stars, you can guess it did not. Decor is easily astonishing, valet service to Christmas themed decoration. It is one of the top hotels in HK after all. The gingerbread house with the train going around it was quite unique. Service was impeccable up to the last minute. The only thing I can think of is that they took a long time with the bill because they screwd up and had to take every time to fix the extra charges on the cc. Now I went for the lunch option, which was approximately 700hkd per person, Ayce dessert and salad bar. Needless to say it was drop dead gorgeous and had a wide variety. Please see the pictures attached!!! I'll let the pictures do the talking. Along with the ayce is a lobster bisque soup and a choice of meat. We tried the prime rib, the rib eye steak and the sirloin steak. We also had the roasted turkey. Turkey almost never impressed me, this was good, but not outstanding. The beef overall was definitely top quality with the meat being cooked at the right temps. The only negative point was that the sirloin steak was cooked on a burnt grill, giving it the burnt charcoal taste, despite the inside being cooked correctly. Lastly, I would like to add they typically give out a free custom dish to everyone. Today was a beef Wellington. I've never had it before, but I've always wanted to try. It was my first, but I could tell it was good. Almost put me over the top and gave this place 5 stars!! However this place is a steak place and I wanted world class steak, and it was not. Probably need to go to the dinner option someday and try the wagyu to see if it can live up to it's name.

Yelp
My son said the best streak he ever had. For what I paid it better be! The views were great. I loved the choice of steak knives. I loved the choice of salts. I loved the choice of mustards.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite steakhouses in HK. I've been here several times and the food is always consistent. Maybe I'm a fool to fall for the multiple varieties of salt, 8 different choices of steak sauce and the steak knives that you get to pick. I always get the duck fois gras tasting, which melts like butter. The steaks are of good size and always cooked exactly how I want. I've never managed to finish the dessert because the size is fairly large and meant for sharing. Its pricey. No way around that, but pay peanuts get monkeys I suppose.

Yelp
Very disappointing meal over €400 for 2(no wine- no atmosphere) frozen French fries not acceptable. Starter prawn cocktail very tasty, service excellent but value for money 0

Yelp
Love love love this place. All time favourite. Very expensive, but you experience an exceptional steak experience. Staff are nice and patient. I will always pick this place over morton's or wooloomooloo.

Yelp
I'm really disappointed i dropped 4600hkd on crappy birthday dinner for my boyfriend. Sure the selection of bread, salt, and mustards are impressive but its more gimmicky than anything. I booked weeks in advanced letting them know it was my boyfriend's birthday. The day comes ( its a tuesday night) and we're sitting beside 5 drunk, loud and old business men. WHY WOULD YOU SEAT THEM IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RESTAURANT? This resulted us to have to essentially scream to hear each other. We both had wagyu steaks. Go with the tenderloin, the striploin is definitely more tough. These steaks had pretty great marbling but I was expecting a lot more. We got the truffle mashed potatoes, grilled zucchini, and portobello mushrooms. The zucchini were undercooked so we told them and they quickly exchanged them for us. However, they were over seasoned with paprika and salt. Overall the meal was still below my expectations. The dessert is where it really killed it for me. I wanted the chocolate fondant to have "happy birthday" written on it, LIKE THEY PROMISED TO DO ON THE EMAILS THEY EXCHANGED THE DAY BEFORE. The cake came and there was nothing on it. Also the dessert is the size of my face. I'd say 2-4 people can definitely finish it. It doesn't make sense for it to have a single tiny scoop of vanilla ice cream.
