WOW! We were expecting this to be a basic beach restaurant with pretty mid food and drinks like we’re used to. But holy crap, this place was amazing. The drink options are insane and you can get a 20oz cocktail rocks/frozen in a souvenir cup for $13. We got the crab fries, rock poppers, and steak dippers. The crab fries were life changing, the poppers were mid, and the steak dippers were very good. For drinks we got a strawberry mojito and rum runner. The atmosphere was great, menu had great options, and our server Britt was so sweet. We plan on going back for dinner and getting crab legs, highly recommend!

The place is great! It has that perfect beach vibe mixed with excellent service and atmosphere! Definitely a fantastic spot to relax and enjoy their famous grouper sandwiches. I tried the traditional fried grouper sandwich — it was good and well-prepared, but I’ll try other options next time to give a more accurate verdict. While it didn’t completely blow me away, it was still tasty and satisfying. What really makes the place stand out is the friendly service, quick attention, and positive energy! It was my first time here and I loved it! Their food was delicious especially the crab fries they were the best thing ever. I love how there was indoor and outdoor seating. Of course we chose outside and we loved everything about it. Definitely coming back here again when we are back in town!

Many Frenchys around but this one is beachfront and has tables facing the water! Perfect for dinner watching the sunset. I ordered the classic fried grouper sandwich which was perfect while my husband ordered a basket of shrimp. I honestly thought his plate looked like more fries than shrimp but everything was wonderful. Our water was super amazing despite how packed the place was getting. It also looked like someone was doing some professional filming while we ate I was wondering what it was for!

We visited on a clear day, and the clear beach in Tempa nearby was absolutely beautiful. This restaurant is just a 5-minute walk from the beach. Although we were told there would be a 30-minute wait, we were seated in just 10 minutes. The live music created a great vibe, making the atmosphere even better. The food was excellent—made with fresh fish and natural ingredients. The flavors were clean, not too salty or greasy, just perfectly balanced. Prices were also very reasonable. The outdoor terrace looked inviting, and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this spot if you’re near the beach!

First time in Clearwater Beach, so I decided to try this place at my boss's recommendation. This restaurant has a very cozy atmosphere and has outdoor seating. We ended up sitting in the sand near the beach which I had never done at a restaurant before. We ended up getting the crab fries and the shrimp pasta. It was absolutely delicious! We will definitely come back the next time I come to Clearwater Beach! Thank you Frenchy's!

Really good food and a great location. Prices were really good compared to everyone else. The drink menu was really good as well. All the Frenchies location are really good. Staff were super awesome. The only negative I have is we sit directly under the AC and it was super cold.

First stop in Clearwater Beach for eats was Frenchy's Rockaway...one of our go to places. The Super Grouper was awesome as always, the SheCrab Soup tasty, and the Blackened Rockaway Chicken was spicy. They're recovering from the hurricanes yet but the service and their attitudes were positive!

Frenchy's Rockaway Grill is hands down a must-visit if you're in Clearwater Beach! I couldn't get enough of their coconut rice--it's no wonder it's their signature side dish! We also tried the scallops, and they were out-of-this-world delicious. Right on the beach! Just reopened after the hurricane damage. The place looks great! So fun and colorful! We sat out on a covered patio. It was chilly out, so it was nice to be able to have a wonderful view of the ocean and beach while dining. All of our food drinks were fantastic. Our server was friendly and attentive. It was an all-around wonderful experience. If we ever make it back in the area, I would love to stop in again.

The location is excellent and the place itself has a nice "Island" look. The staff was friendly and helpful, but unfortunately the food wasn't what I expected. We had the Oysters Rockaway, they were simple and blend, the Rocktopus was the best dish on my opinion and we had the Seafood Ceviche , I thought it was one of the worst Ceviche's I ever had, it tasted like they cooked the fish and then put lemon on top of it. We also had the Asian salad, it's a salad , nothing special. They're getting three stars because of their location and service. The food is not something that I would go back for.

After being closed for remodel, then hurricanes...this place was bumping on a sunny Saturday! The staff here is a well oiled machine, turning tables quickly and getting people seated. Everyone I encountered was Extremely friendly! I ordered a coconut kiwi margaritas to start, which was refreshing and delicious, with a great presentation. For lunch, I ordered a cup of the she crab soup and the grouper nuggets basket. The soup was flavorful, but seemed extra cheesy/greasy to me. The grouper basket was somewhat small for the price, and the fish was just ok. Could have used a bit more seasoning. I will definitely come back to try the sandwich though. Overall, fun beach vibes and extraordinary service!

I had a great experience this evening at Frenchy's Rockaway Grill! It's located right on the beach in Clearwater. The location can't be beat! I was pleasantly surprised by the plentiful food and drink offerings. Fresh catch pretzel- this soft pretzel was well worth the $10.95! It arrived hot and as the name suggested, was fresh. It was delicious. Our group devoured it. No time for a picture. A nice presentation too. She crab soup- $5.95- I can't say that I've had many iterations of she crab soup so it's hard to judge. This rendition was very creamy, and thick. It wasn't super crab flavored but was enjoyable. Walnut crusted grouper salad- $17.95- this salad was enjoyable! The walnut crust was a nice touch. The greens were fresh and it was topped with feta, radish, crasins and pears. Grilled grouper- $19.95- the fish wasn't my favorite- I think because I wasn't fond of the seasonings used. I did really enjoy the sides though, the coconut rice was really really good! Piña colada- there's nothing my better than dining right by the beach with a frozen drink in hand. This piña colada really hit the spot! I'd rate it five stars for sure. I was glad to see that Frenchy's Rockaway Grill had good business this evening! I hope more people frequent Frenchy's

This is my favorite of the 4 Frenchys on the island, mostly because of the location, views, and space. Also, one of our favorite servers is here: Jessica K! This salad I had this time was so, so good. I will get it more often! I also recommend the smoked fish spread!

Frenchy's is back open again after the hurricanes! All of the areas are open for seating except for the sand part. They're still straightening out a few pylons but you can sit on the outer deck and watch the sunset and enjoy the blue waves. We order a surf and turf and had some amazing garlic mashed potatoes. The grilled shrimp was wonderful. My favorite was the beet salad. Highly recommend. Parking is still tricky since two of the three rows are under construction. Plan accordingly.

Atmosphere was really nice here. Casual restaurant with beachfront seating. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The drinks were delicious, I tried the Loopy drink with fruit loops flavored alcohol and it was tasty. The calamari was good. I ordered the stuffed grouper which was a little bland but cooked well along with veggies and coleslaw.

Cheap drinks. Slightly overcooked but huge grilled grouper sandwich. Hot dog was said to be good, for all the non seafood eaters. Super chill vibe sitting on the sand. Check in with the QR code and choose where you want to sit. Our server Nick was great, and the sunset was unbelievable from these seats. Unfortunately, everyone rushes to the front to take pics as it's happening so it blocks the views. If I'm in the area again, would prob come again for the reasonably priced drinks while I'm at the beach.

We had lunch here yesterday and today. The Rockaway cheeseburger is great. Went with the french fries instead of chips. (Both days). My wife and cousins ordered the grouper sandwich or grouper nugget basket and enjoyed it immensely. Our server, Richard, was absolutely the best. Came here for a late lunch early dinner after a friend recommended them. We were immediately seated outside with a beautiful ocean view. They even have some tables in the sand. Talk about the perfect atmosphere for lunch. Our server was absolutely amazing she kept up with us even though there were 7 of us and we ordered a lot of food and drinks and kept adding on to our order. We couldn't have asked for a better server. I wish I would have caught her name so she could get some recognition. Food and drinks all came out extremely fast. We ordered in pretty sure almost every appetizer on the menu so I won't go over all of them but I will note the ones that stood out the most and I unfortunately didn't get pictures of everything as everyone was starving and ready to eat. Octopus: the best I've ever had super tender and flavorful with a perfect grilled taste. I can't say enough good about it. I could have ate just that. We have a non seafood person in our group and he even liked it. Seafood ceviche was perfect. Had a balance of shrimp, scallops and grouper with some lime and it's a large portion Garlic crab fries were divine lots of crab pairs with a garlic cream sauce Egg rolls were just ok nothing super special about them Onion straws had a light breading and it's a large portion. Highly recommend them for a non seafood app Cajun grouper sandwich I didn't care for the roll however the fish itself was amazing light tender and flaky would order it by itself Ribs were better than some bbq restaurants. Tender and falling off the bone and a huge portion That's just a small overview of everything we ordered but everything was absolutely amazing and well worth the stop in. I wish this place was closer to home cause I would be here all the time.

Frenchy's has indoor and outdoor seating. Going there for a bite to eat for my day at the beach was convenient. The food was tasty for a fast casual stop like this. The staff was very friendly and relaxed making the experience calm which is what you want on a vacation. It is in the touristy area so it has all of the flare of a tourist stop.

Great location, fabulous drinks and tasty food. Parking is tough but that is just Clearwater. Loved the food and our waiter was awesome. Will definitely return on our next visit.

My boyfriend and I recently had an amazing date day at Frenchy's, and I highly recommend trying this out for a fun and memorable experience. One of the highlights is the Frenchy's Passport challenge, where you visit all 4 Frenchy's locations and order their signature drink to earn a free tee shirt. It was such a blast completing this challenge in one day! We started our adventure by walking from each location, which allowed us to soak in the beachy atmosphere and enjoy some time on the beach. The whole day was filled with excitement and laughter, making it a truly unforgettable experience. Frenchy's has a fantastic beachy vibe that's perfect for both locals and visitors. The food is delicious, and I especially love their drinks--they're perfect for a beach day or a casual hangout. The staff at Frenchy's were incredibly friendly and helpful, adding to the overall positive experience. Very casual/beachy vibe. Great menu and great seafood!! Outside tables have a perfect beach view. Very friendly staff. Went there for the fried clams and so much more!!!

I hadn't been here in forever, & I came here with out of town friends. This is the usual go to for bringing friends, family from out of town. This area is known for the Grouper and this what they serve here. I, for one, don't love it so! I do love fish and seafood and you will find it here along with some non seafood lover dishes here. This place can best be enjoyed on a week day evening waiting for the sunset. If not, be prepared to wait forever. There is a parking lot right outside this restaurant. Download Park Mobile, and life is much easier.

What can I say about Frenchy's that hasn't already been said. I love this place and so does everyone else. The seafood if off the hook! No pun intended. I had the Cali tacos they were amazing as always. Started with the seafood gumbo and also very flavorful and full of seafood.

This place is so cool. You can sit down have a drink and watch a little TV with great food. Our server Jamie kept a smile on the entire time we were there. Great service with a friendly staff. However , if you want someone to give you the best treatment ask for Jamie.

We went on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch and we had to wait for an outside table. Yes, it was chilly in January, yet the view was nice. A friend comes here every year and comments that the quality of the food has changed. The tuna nachos had to be sent back. The nacho chips were stale and tuna didn't taste fresh. Manager came out and thanked us since they didn't realize the chips had gone bad. Tuna was fresh from the day prior, but we still refused to eat more, the color was not right either. The coconut rice from the Three Ming platter was delicious. Actual coconut flakes really made the rice tasty. The grouper and shrimp were cooked fine. Octopus was a bit dry. Maybe a bad day, but will try again.

When one brings up Clearwater Beach, I'm pretty sure the first restaurant that comes to mind for locals and tourists is Frenchy's Rockaway Grill. The food is fantastic, make no mistake; they have a variety of seafood options, especially in regard to grouper, and fine drinks that will definitely put you in a 5 o' clock mood; drink responsibly. They even have non-seafood options such as hotdogs and burgers, among other things. Some of my top favorites from this restaurant is the Garlic Crab fries, the she-crab soup, and the Orange Dreamsicle (for ages 21+) Overall, the ambiance is like any other beach grill; Tropical and laid-back. They certainly do have a very visually appealing environment...Which also means it can get crowded given this is the most popular of the Frenchy's chain and sometimes orders will be misheard or rushed. It can be uncomfortable to eat here if it's very busy considering its a grill AND a bar, and sometimes you won't be able to get yourself a table, so be prepared for that. Not a bad thing, they've got a good reputation which means alot of business, but I do feel they are eager to get everyone served at the risk of incorrect orders. Ordering Burgers from this place is definitely a risk; While they're good, they have a tendency to mess up on what you want on it, or what kind of bun you want (they use onion buns, which is an issue because not everyone wants onions). Overall, great seafood, great ambiance...but it can get crowded and sometimes the cooks and waiters/waitresses rush. Still recommend coming here in spite of that!

The view is immaculate especially around sunset time! The food is always so delicious and service is amazing every single time. My MUST visit anytime I'm in the area! We ordered the same thing every visit. The calamari is to die for and I love that they serve it with a honey mustard sauce. It's always so fresh and tender. The grouper sandwich is a classic and always delicious! You can taste the freshness in the fish! Favorite place on the beach!!

Location, location, location... located directly on the white sand beach this is a great place to dine and watch the sunset like we did. Service was great but we deduct a star for one dinner coming late. The place was very busy so it happens. The Three Kings was very good with grouper, shrimp and scallops. Frenchy's garlic crab fries were also good and weee finished by the table before the waiter could get back with plates. It's a beach bar with live music at night but also family friendly during the day. A classic along the strip.

Ah-mazing!! Decent prices. Good food. Great service. Right on the beach. What more could you want? I had the crab soup based on my servers recommendations and it was such a good creamy soup chocked full of crab. I also had the coconut shrimp with fries and coconut rice. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, the fries had a perfect crunch to them, and the coconut rice had a ton of flavor. Their menu was pretty large so I would definitely come back and try something else.

My impression was that this place has been over-hyped and gets a big pass due to its amazing location right on Clearwater Beach. We stopped by after a few weeks in the Clearwater Beach area, and our standards were probably raised at that point. We'd had a ton of seafood and tropical cocktails, much of it awesome, some of it definitely not so great. I'd put this Frenchy's in the middle of the pack, which is definitely below its ratings here. The food was okay-to-meh. Not bad, but nothing to write home about. The cocktails tended to fall in that same category. I wouldn't recommend the chicken salad pita (I think that's what it was - see pics) or anything with steak. The grouper didn't disappoint, though. Our cocktails were very weak. Tasty and reasonably priced, but very weak. The service was surprisingly good. It was a pretty busy Sunday evening, but the 35 minute wait only lasted about 10 minutes. Our server was obviously really busy, but she did an amazing job taking care of us. So much so, that I made a point to make a deal about thanking and praising her (something I only do when I'm really impressed) - and, yes - I left a tip that reflected the great service. I was also surprised that for a place that's located in Tourist Trap Central, the prices were fairly reasonable. Don't misunderstand. If you eat seafood and drink a few cocktails, it will add up. But, the prices really weren't bad given the location. The atmosphere is great if you like the old Florida feel and enjoy sticking your toes in the sand while drinking and dining. In other words, great! It was and I think usually is VERY busy, so this is not the place for a quiet, upscale meal.

A must when in Clearwater Beach! Sits right on the beach. Arrive 90 minutes before sunset and get your name in the queue for outside. The wait can be an hour, so take a walk to the water, take some pics, and grab a seat in the chairs, rocks or sand. Once seated, you will be in a position to see a stunning sunset as you get your drinks and food. The food is typical pub fair but the atmosphere is worth it. Good service.

I was torn between a three star and four star. I finally decided on four because of the location, drinks and price. My food left something to be desired, but I'll just try something else next time. The good: It's right on the beach. Super convenient to reach, we were staying at the Sandpearl and it was a couple steps away. We sat outside and even in the heat of the summer, the fans and shade made it enjoyable. The drinks were also delicious. I got a frozen key lime coconut drink and it was the perfect cocktail for the beach. When I think casual beach cafe, Frenchy's will always come to mind. The ok: We got a soft pretzel to try to soak up the carbs. It was pretty good. It wasn't earth shattering, but it did the job well. The less appealing: I got the seafood salad, because that's what I got many years ago. The taco shell it came in was somewhat mushy. I wasn't impressed. I've heard good things about their grouper sandwiches, so note to self, try that next time. Overall I enjoyed our meal. However, if it is your only meal at the beach, I'd recommend elsewhere.

One of several Frenchy's locations. Frenchy's Rockaway is convenient located next to SandPearl resort on clearwater Beach. We tried Frenchy's at Rockaway Grill in early June, 2023 on a Saturday. There was a racial instance at one of Frenchy's locations and 1-star or negative Yelp posting started pouring in. Yelp temporally paused posting for a few weeks to investigate and monitor the incident. This is a delayed review. This Frenchy's is right by the beach front with a beach parking lot. We've been to the Frenchy's Original a short distance away many years ago. I remembered I sampled an excellent Grouper Sandwich on onion bun there. Now, we have a group of eight and wanted that beach view and do a little people watching. We were very lucky; one car got a free parking right near the French's Kitchen and another one paid $6.00 for two hours of parking. There is a separate to go pickup area located next to the bar near the main entrance. The staff were friendly and smiling! We were seated immediately. I started off with a Mai Tai, to cool off and ordered a Grilled Grouper plate with fresh fruits and Cole slaw. Other ordered burgers, fried clams, shrimp basket, chicken salad. The fresh fruits are excellent, the pineapple wedges were sugar sweet, while cantaloup, strawberry, honey dew are fresh and delicious. A small container of Cole slaw is fine but my grilled grouper filet was a great disappointment. Two small pieces of filet with full seasoning but appeared steamed rather grilled and has a funny taste. Will never order this at Frenchy's Rockaway Grill again. The Mai Tai is on weak side with rum, triple sec, orange and pineapple juices with dark rum floater. This drink needs another shot of 151 rum floater to make it work! Burgers and French Fries are well seasoned. Fried clams are heavily breaded and hardly has any clam in it! The shrimp basket is nothing to write home about! However, the chicken salad is a big hit in our table. The staff is professional. The beach view was amazing! Overall, this is a 3 1/2 stars. I was disappointed with the grilled grouper filet and downgraded this to 3 stars.

The service was fast & professional and the food was a tad above average. I gave 4 stars because of the She Crab Soup!!! Started with the She Crab Soup and Garlic Crab Fries. The soup was AMAZING! Lots of fresh crab, buttery seasoning and whatever else is in their secret recipe. Want to go back today just to eat the soup!! The Garlic Crab Fries were no comparison after eating the soup. They were definitely good...and probably would've been better if I didn't eat the soup first. Hubby and I both ordered the famous grouper sandwich. He got the Cajun Grilled and I got the Fried sandwich. Sandwiches come with chips that can be subbed with fries, fruit or coleslaw for a mini charge. The Cajun Grilled was Delicious!!! Go with the recommendations and get it grilled. The fried sandwich was a little tough and not as flavorful.

Big venue, beachside, live music. Went to a seafood spot to eat chicken but it was still good. I think the bread was better then the meat. Unlike most Hawaiian sandwiches I normally get at other venues this one tasted a if it was something I made. I'm not a bad cook but my kids would probably have complained. I tried some other items but overall it was good. I'm sure if we would of went during the day the view of the beach would have been wonderful. Had great time at Frenchys. The food was great we all had something different. Grouper bites basket, seafood pot pie, coconut shrimp and crab fries. Our server I think his name was Zach was awesome. He kept our drinks filled and made sure we had and liked everything we had. The view of the beach can't be beat. We'll definitely be back.

We ordered the crab fries. It was good, but the crab was not fresh. We also had coconut shrimp, which was delicious. I did not care for the sides which was mashed potatoes and yellow rice. We got the catch of the day which was OK, but lacked flavor. The servers were very nice and were willing to bring out a different side but we weren't that hungry. It was a windy day so we sat inside. Mostly high top tables and only a few short tables. We were basically confined to the bar area. Not sure if I would go back.

Good food and mixed frozen drinks. Sometimes a wait on weekends. I enjoyed the mahi mahi with the fries and the pretzel with cheese. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. And despite their motto it's pretty family friendly

Frenchy's Rockaway Grill is a favorite place in Clearwater, FL. I've been coming here since childhood and the food quality hasn't changed. The best-grouped sandwiches, the crab fries are to die for, the onions straws are super crispy, and the piña colada always hits. The restaurant can get bustling, so you can expect a wait time during peak season.

Believe the hype. Its awesome. Best beach, best food, best service! Perfect location.

Awesome food and drinks!!! Atmosphere was amazing and this was Christmas Day . Bartenders made you feel welcome and not rushed. Visiting from Texas, so thank you to the bartenders for their great attitudes and service. They deserve a holiday bonus, if the owners do this. We got the shrimp and a cuban sandwich.

Dinning in the sand is such a cool experience! I had the shrimp burger which was incredible! I couldn't believe how good that burger was. We also drink a couple of their margaritas as well which were also incredible! Being able to eat and drink on the beach while looking out at the ocean is so much fun! Our waiter Jeffy was super funny and very helpful too. Keep up the good work!

Great casual spot on the beach with tables on the sand. Food is pretty good, but it's the chill spot with a drink watching the beach is what it's all about. When is season they have a good price on Stonw crabs. The service is good as well.

Came here after a beach day. Despite having a big party, we were seated within minutes. Our server was great, very friendly and very attentive. Food was yummy, very filling! I love the beachy vibes of the restaurant as well - fitting for the location and cuisine!

Food- Had Coco shrimp starter. It was good, not sure I would get it again as there were a lot of other options. Ordered 3 Kings and a greens salad with scallops. Salad with scallops was very good. 3 kings protein was very good but mashed potatoes and coleslaw was underwhelming. Then finished with a Churro! That was awesome and may come back just because of that! Service- Was welcomed by a some non enthusiastic front of house. But our waiter (Zack) was excellent! Great suggestions and very helpful! Ambiance-Was ok. A topical beachside restaurant/bar. Cleanliness was average at best, silverware could have been a little cleaner. Overall, may go back and try some of the tacos or other popular dishes, but not a 4 star experience.

I took my wife to Frenchy's Rockaway Grille at Clearwater Beach on the Gulf of Mexico for her birthday. It didn't disappoint. We started off with cups of their amazing She Crab Soup. It was so good that we forgot to take pictures! Then we ordered a large garlic fries with crab to share. Wow! Sofia had the crab stuffed Grouper with coleslaw and garlic mashed potatoes. By this time she was so full she could only eat half; but she enjoyed it again the next day. I had the Grouper Santorini, which was delicious. There's something about the combination of the sweetness of sun dried tomatoes against the savory of feta cheese and capers that really satisfies. I couldn't finish mine either, but enjoyed it just as much the next day. We will definitely be back!

One of 4 locations , this was conveniently located next to Sandpearl resort on Clearwater beach. We ordered lunch and dinner here mainly for convenience. It is walking distance from the resort, sizable portions and reasonably priced seafood. There is a separate to go pickup area located next to the bar , and wait time was only 15-20 mins wait during spring break . We ordered a variety including grouper sandwiches which come in 3 different sizes 5/5. The fish dip was my favorite as an appetizer 5/5, runner ups were the medium chicken wings 5/5 and coconut shrimp 5/5. I would skip the fried calamari and crab Rangoon 2/5 . A bit overbooked and bland imo. Although the seafood pot pie was not an enclosed pot pie as I had expected , the filling that was served in a bowl was very rich and abundant in fish clams and scallops . All in all , an enjoyable experience everytime we will definitely we back when visiting Sandpearl .

Service was outstanding. Both were prompt friendly and attentive. The non-seafood items were done surprisingly well, scallops and grouper were fantastic and nothing beats having a drink on the beach!

Had a fried seafood sampler to share, was outstanding. Loved the scallops! Location in the sand is unbeatable.

Another fun spot on the beach and great for sports fans to hang out with a well stocked bar and lots of bites or full menu. Servers are busy so not a lot of time to hesitate on ordering, felt a bit hurried not that much of a relaxing atmosphere . Food was good and we appreciated that ask about allergies and we'll marked as good is delivered. Fun spot gets busy fast would return to try other menu items .
