Botanical garden with rose, bonsai, Japanese gardens

"The annual spring Cherry Blossom Festival is the prime time to visit this 52-acre botanic garden. Admission is free from 10am-12pm on Saturdays and all day on Tuesdays (otherwise it's $12). But come early, because the crowds are crazy during peak season. Fun fact: this spot used to be an ash dump in the late 1800s, but now it's a lush garden!" - Erin Mercurio & Jak Horner

"Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, Prospect Park is considered his masterpiece. It offers stunning fall colors and is near the Brooklyn Botanical Garden and Brooklyn Museum."
"Joining the top of the list, rounding out the top 10." - Travel + Leisure Editors

"A beautiful outdoor setting for a wedding, often surrounded by lush gardens and floral arrangements."

"To inaugurate the summer season, a friend and I visited the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and discovered lavender bearded irises, snowy white viburnum, pink columbine that looked like moon landers, and deep red peonies with yellow filaments waving in the middle of their softball-size blossoms. Best of all was the rose garden, laid out in symmetric rows that led to a decorative pergola and containing over 5,000 bushes in 1,000 varieties; the fragrance there was overpowering. We relaxed on the lawn among the cherry trees and also visited the glassed-in cactus conservatory, enjoying the variety of plantings and the garden’s seasonal display." - Robert Sietsema
