The 26 Best Restaurants In Kansas City, Missouri - Kansas City - The Infatuation

"Ride the Kansas City streetcar to the end of the line and you’ll find Union Station, one of the coolest train stations in America. After craning your neck to stare at the 95-foot ceilings, head inside, sit at the bar for Happy Hour, and proceed to take in the beautiful Art Deco dining room. Once you're done ogling, order the fritto misto, beef tartare, and their three-olive Jezebel martini. Then, watch the bartender grab a bottle of vodka nine shelves up and somehow slide all the way back down the ladder without creating an expensive puddle. You should also check out The Conductor Club speakeasy upstairs in the station for a movie-themed cocktail experience—so far they’ve featured “Wonka-ween” and Elf-inspired menus and go all-out with the decor." - ryan bernsten

Located inside the grand Union Station, Pierpont’s delivers contemporary steak and seafood in one of the city’s most historic and architecturally stunning spaces. The restaurant honors the building’s 1914 origins with soaring ceilings, marble columns, and a dramatic two-story bar. Both The Pitch and Condé Nast Traveler have highlighted Pierpont’s as a destination for visitors seeking classic Kansas City flavor wrapped in old-world grandeur.

Holiday extravaganza at Union station. Gorgeous Christmas tree, holiday experience for holiday lights and fun! Park in garage to get complimentary parking validation. Has the shrimp cocktail with an Asian fusion flair. Very good. Not huge shrimp but tasty. Had the crab and corn bisque was good but very filling and rich. The Lillet steak was an 8/10. Had the crab cakes and they were good but a little fishy and fairly thin. The lobster Mac was not really lobster Mac as it had one piece of lobster. Overall a. Ice experience. Great service and cocktails.

We had a fabulous meal here with a variety of food. Service was great! I loved my crab cakes and the fresh baked bread they bring out is addictive. Mom had the boar and it was delicious too. The lobster Mac and cheese was creamy and tasty. The atmosphere is beautiful and it’s a lovely place for a romantic or family dinner. Great looking bar!

After expecting to have to stand and wait for a table, a host went out of his way and flagged us down for a table very quickly. My Old Fashioned was old fashioned. My lamb shank was great. The mashed potatoes were buttery perfect. And the mushrooms that I would have ordered anyway but came with the lamb were excellent. Bread pudding was pretty darn good. Not my personal best but definitely ranking pretty high up there. Would have scored better if it were twice the size but that's cause I'm a good eater.

We went for our 1st anniversary. TLDR The food was delicious. And the service was great. While the dinner was expensive, it was 100% worth it. My wife described our dinner as "achieving her dream of a perfect meal". And while I think that's extreme, it was one of the best dinner experiences I've had. We had crab cakes, a charcuterie board, steaks, and dessert. The asparagus with my steak came out perfectly. Our steaks were delicious. And the recommendations our server made for wine and dessert were great. On that note, our server Garrick was every cent he gets paid and tipped (hopefully he gets paid a lot). I already mentioned his recommendations. But also he took note that I didn't drink alcohol so when he brought our champagne for my wife to celebrate our anniversary he also brought me a sprite in a champagne glass so I had some bubbly drink with her. Honestly we are considering making Pierponts our anniversary dinner restaurant every year.

Google
I want to thank Moses for his impeccable service from explaining the menu and options and answering our questions. To serving our orders. The food was outstanding. Everything we ordered was so delicious. I ordered an old fashion that was the best I've ever had anywhere, period. 5 🌟 We will definitely be regulars from now on. Can't wait to come back. Jeff, Elisha, and Ian.

Google
It was such an amazing place. The whole staff was amazing start to finish. It was my 1st time dining there and we went for date night. The host staff prepared us a special intimate table just for us and a romantic setting. It was so thoughtful of them. The service was outstanding and the food was amazing. Afterwards we had some night caps at the bar top which was an awesome show as well. The bartenders are not only very social but also some showmanship there with they way they make their drinks. I overall recommend 10/10

Google
A beautiful historic building! It was my partner and myself's 4 year anniversary, and our server treated us so nicely with extra goodies. The food may be expensive, but it's WORTH it. Every bite I took was not to simply fill myself, but enjoy the excellent flavors.

If you didn’t know, Pierpont’s offers a monthly afternoon tea and it’s easily one of the most memorable experiences in Kansas City. Make sure you sign up for the newsletter, because it frequently sells out and is absolutely worth reserving a spot. We’ve gone over the past several months, and each visit was creative, delicious, and thoughtfully curated. Each Afternoon Tea is set to a unique theme, which makes every experience feel fresh and fun. It’s also a great excuse to be creative yourself and dress up to match the theme. The tea itself was excellent, with a rotating selection of miniature sandwiches, fresh scones or pastries with clotted cream, and a final row of sweet treats. The specialty cocktail always reflected the theme, something unique and perfectly paired with the menu. Lizzie and Jennifer were always incredibly attentive, making sure every table was taken care of and creating such a welcoming atmosphere. It'll be part of our treasured memories of our time here in Kansas City!

Yelp
Our second visit here was better than the first! We came for dinner and drinks instead of just a snack. Our service was great, the waiter seemed to enjoy his work and was friendly and joking with us. The drinks were enjoyable and the food delicious. All of this, set in Kansas City's historic Union Station. We used Uber to get here, not because we were drinking, it saves on the parking fee. Next time will will try the local light rail to get us here.

Yelp
Let's start with the ambience, very cute. I love the location. I'm from Kansas City so it's just nostalgic and I love coming here. I was visiting from Chicago and we got here 15 minutes before brunch was over, which was OK with us because we were just going to do lunch or dinner instead. We found out that the restaurant actually closes for a short period of time until dinner starts. It was really sad, but luckily I got there before everyone and ordered for the whole table and the waitresses and the staff was so kind about it. I enjoy both of the cocktails that I had so the cocktails were good probably like a solid eight. So then we get to the food. The coffee cake was $10 and listed as an appetizer but was about at most four bites was very disappointing. It was good but wouldn't order it again unless it's just for two people, but I couldn't imagine ordering two of those spending $20 for four people. I don't mind spending money on food or appetizers, but for some reason that just didn't leave anything to be desired to make it happen been worth it.. which brings me to the next appetizer the calamari. Same issue the portion was so small. It felt like a plate was full of leaves with a couple of seafoods sprinkled in there. This one really made me sad because it was so stinking good. It was amazing. I feel like the portion is so small, the ratio of seafood to leaves is just crazy for $19. I would still pay it again just because it was so good. It was so tender, not chewy and full of flavor. Some of the best calamari I've ever had. I just wish it was a better portion, but it definitely will not stop me from ordering it again! Onto the entrées I ordered the crabcake Benedict. The crabcakes were so tiny. It literally look like a regular Benedict with Canadian ham. There was more ham and crabcake. Totally not worth it. It was so crazy because when initially came out, I had to tell them that I ordered a crabcake Benedict just to find the little crabcake patty underneath the egg. I would have even been fine with it being small and just never ordered it again, but then the crabcake had the nerve to be fishy and I did not like that at all. It just wasn't tasty. Then I ordered the steak and egg which was so delicious. The steak & eggs were so good, but it can be an acquired taste, because it had an added sweetness to it, the steak was cooked so perfectly I didn't even mind it literally melted in my mouth. The brunch sandwich was delicious. But the star of the show was definitely the calamari and then the steak. The peanut butter chocolate dessert was so delicious. I definitely recommend grabbing one of those too if you have space in your tummy.

Yelp
Well, worth the price. Moses was our waiter. He was fantastic very attentive. From the bread and soup to the main entrée was fantastic. I am a small fillet and the garlic mashed potatoes are definitely worth a try. We also had the burnt brussels sprouts very good somewhat too flaky though. My table also had the lamb. He said it was very good. .

Yelp
Omg, I would go back for the Pierpont filet. So delicious. We went on a Sunday and got half price bottles of wine... I'd go back just to talk to the sommelier. Great education and I love learning! Our waitress was fantastic and gave us great recommendations. I loved the beautiful flowers at our table. Overall, highly recommend for a date night

Yelp
Always Fantastic! Fantastic food, service spot on, thank you 'tall' Ben and the ambiance of Union Station carry's through to Pierpont's.

Yelp
Had a lovely anniversary dinner with my girlfriend last night at Pierpont's. I had the Ribeye with Coffee and Ancho Spice and it was one of the best steaks of my life. My girlfriend had the Wild Boar Chops and they were well cooked and flavored to the bone. We also shared the Baked Pimento cheese which was incredible with the smoked grapes that left us surprised and confused in the best way. The only downside was we were in a room with a family that had a baby who they encouraged and laughed at when the baby screamed loud. They also had a toddler running around the room and around our table. This really killed the atmosphere for our special dinner out. Obviously people are free to bring their children, but I expected a little more consideration from the staff to not put them in a small room with other guests. Overall it was a great dinner and we will be back, just maybe a little later if we want to have that romantic date night vibe.

Yelp
We came for drinks as a stop on our day out in KC. I want to come back for a meal, I'm sure it would be great. When we came, they had a special on various types of oysters and they all sounded delectable. As you can tell from one of the pictures, the bar is extensive. Lots of great options and anywhere with a ladder for drinks or books is my kind of place. The server was attentive and friendly. We got our drinks in less than 10 minutes, I'm sure it didn't even take that long but I didn't time it. Vibes are fancy but approachable. We went in our gear for the soccer game that night and didn't feel judged, a bonus! Ha. The drinks were reasonably priced and good, the old fashioned especially. This is a great place for a cocktail or a nice dinner!

Yelp
Loved this bar area in Union Station. Nice brunch menu (didn't get anything due to time) but service was great and loved the vibes throughout.

Yelp
My wife and I have been going to Pierpont's for years. We love the Union Station atmosphere and nostalgia. Our server was excellent and knew it was our anniversary from the reservation. My wife had her usual coffee & ancho chili rubbed steak. It's the only thing she will order. I tried the New Zealand lamb chops. She had a side of sautéed woodland mushrooms and I had the roasted Brussels sprouts. The chops were tender and cooked perfectly. The server provided a complimentary desert for our anniversary with a happy anniversary chocolate sliver added.

Yelp
I ate here for a group dinner while in town for a 5 day concert. It's really great for groups or intimate dinners . I lighting is really dim but manageable. Our waiter Ryan took wonderful care of us . He was attentive and gave recommendations on dishes and drinks that were the crowd favorites. This was my second time here and I ordered the same thing because it's Sooooooooo delicious! I love the architecture in the restaurant it resembles a train station. The wedge salads dressing has just the right amount of creaminess and citrus . My fritto was perfectly fried and my favorite was the crispy spinach .

Yelp
I had an excellent first visit to Pierpont's over the holiday weekend. The space itself is gorgeous, matching the beautiful style of Union Station with high ceilings and tasteful decorations. We went on a Sunday evening during their happy hour and were pleasantly surprised by their half priced bottle of wine deal (Sundays only). We split a bottle of Pinot noir that was fabulous. For an appetizer, we ordered the fritto misto di mare - calamari, scallops, shrimp, and spinach fried to perfection and coupled with a flavorful dipping sauce. It was delicious! Next came our blue crab & sweet corn bisque. This had to be my favorite part of the meal! The bisque was decadently rich and creamy - I highly recommend! For my main course, I ordered the conductor burger off of the happy hour menu - topped with whiskey-bacon jam, goat cheese, and paired with fries. The burger was very tasty and I loved how the sweet bacon jam and goat cheese complemented the savory burger. The fries were just okay and lacked seasoning. For dessert, we were provided with a complimentary dark chocolate cheesecake since my parents were celebrating their anniversary! The cheesecake was rich and yummy with a cute "Happy Anniversary" chocolate addition on top. We had a lovely experience all around! Our waitress Jamee was very warm, friendly, and provided excellent service all evening.

Yelp
What a treat Pierpont's is!! Wow! We made reservations on OpenTable. We were seated promptly in this gorgeous restaurant. The decor was super cool. They have the tallest bar I've ever seen. Emmanuel was our delightful server. He's been there 24 years and knows his stuff. You should ask for him. Everything we had was amazing, starting with the complementary sourdough bread. I had some PEI oysters that were outstanding! My wife ordered the clan and corn chowder which was divine. I had the spinach salad with rhubarb dressing. Wow!! Our steaks were perfection. My wife loved her 5oz tenderloin Oscar style. I had intended to order the bison ribeye, but they were out of it. So Emmanuel suggested to coffee and school chili rubbed KC Strip. It was the best steak I've had in KC. Actually, I've only had one steak better in my 54 years and that was at Bazaar Meats by José Andrés in Las Vegas, an A5 Kobe. This one was a fraction of the price and simply unbeatable. Just wow! We can't WAIT to go back!!! Fantastic!!

Yelp
Had a wonderful Easter brunch. The service was impeccable, everyone was sooo welcoming and nice. Our server, Jeannette, was wonderful. She was not only consistently timely but also created a very fun atmosphere. The eggs Benedict was fantastic, and the rocket salad had the most delicious vinaigrette. Wonderful experience!
google avatar

Ciera B.

Yelp
came here for a romantic dinner a while back and we loved our experience. we had high expectations especially for the price we were paying and those expectations were met. such good service, atmosphere, and good food. our favorites were the caesar salad, house bread, mashed potatoes, and lobster mac and cheese. the lamb chop plate was very different and probably an acquired taste with the pickled veggies as the side but it wasn't bad.
google avatar

Jon N.

Yelp
An absolutely beautiful place with outstanding service and an old-school steakhouse menu. All of our food was perfectly prepared and delicious. One item that stood out and that should not be missed was the tempura brocolini. So good! Also, the Blue Crab and Corn Bisque was amazing. An outstanding wine list, and while we did not have cocktails, I'm sure they're great!
google avatar

Allison G.

Yelp
Steak and mashed potatoes were tasty! I've also had the burger from here (with goat cheese) and it was fantastic. Great vibe in union station, great date night spot!

Yelp
All things are relative. That certainly rings true here. We went on a crowded Christmas weekend. Union station parking nearly full. We ate at 8:00pm. The decor was excellent. I love Union Station and they took full advantage of that aesthetic. I'm glad we were seated in the carpeted area because the marble floor area was extremely loud. Service was excellent, however we had lipstick on two of our water glasses. Not good. They apologized profusely and brought clean glasses. I thought they should have comped us an appetizer or dessert. They did not. I didn't ask. That brings us to the relative part. I got crab cakes and steak tartar for appetizers. Both were excellent. However, there were only two crab cakes each the size of a half dollar. Absurd for the price. Tartar with a beef tallow candle was a great touch. A bit small for the price if I were sharing. Paris should not have cheaper steak tartar than Kansas City. As a main, I got the strip with Ancho Chile spices. The spices were very sweet. I wasn't expecting that but I still enjoyed the steak. Wife had the filet. Daughter had the black Cod. Everything was cooked perfectly. Steaks were the best I've had in Kansas City in some time. I really miss the Plaza III days. The Cod was excellent with grilled bok choy. We got small sides. If I were paying half this price, sides were fine. But for these prices, we should get more than enough to share. Fill us up with potatoes and asparagus. Sides are inexpensive to make. It's a steak house. I think the portions were too small. If we're coming in for $60 steaks don't grift us on sides. Dessert was a chocolate cheesecake. Good, but again, very tiny. Over all it was great experience at a beautiful location and time of year.
google avatar

Andrea A.

Yelp
Pierpont's hosted a large group dinner for my organization recently, and it was lovely! The food, service, and ambiance were all great. Noteworthy was the coffee & ancho chili rubbed Kansas City strip, which was so flavorful and had subtle hints of sweet and spicy. Also, the asparagus that came with the steak was perhaps the most perfectly cooked asparagus I've ever had. The accompanying bread, salad, and raspberry/lemon Bundt cake dessert (forgot to snap a pic of this) were good as well. Lots of parking up front. 9/10 would recommend for your fancy meal requirements!
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
Couple friends, we got together to check out Union Station restaurant Pierpont's. 2 of us ordered the Wedge salad with green goddess dressing. So good. I had crab cakes, one friend had a 5oz filet (medium well- don't hate her) the other had a bigger steak & we all cleaned our plates. For dessert I had an espresso martini, one lady had coffee & the other an actual dessert. Very cool vibe. Great service from the hostess & server.

Yelp
Been here a few times for brunch and dinner. They have a great brunch and dinner menu. The food is delicious. Happy hour daily even the weekends. The staff is wonderful! I love the ambiance. Will continue to go back.
google avatar

Rosemarie S.

Yelp
We absolutely adore your restaurant and miss it for the food, service, arts ambiance! Thank you.
google avatar

Becca B.

Yelp
We went for happy hour and enjoyed a spread of appetizers and cocktails. The Lobster Mac & Cheese will have you craving to return! The salads are incredibly fresh if you are craving a tasty salad. I tried the Wedge Salad and my friend tried the Butternut Squash Salad. We also ordered the creamy Baked Pimento Cheese served with fruit and bread. The Happy Hour Menu has some discounted drinks as well. If you are looking for Happy Hour on a budget or simply looking for cheaper prices, this may not be the spot for you to go. However, if you are looking for a more sophisticated or classier happy hour, Pierpont's is the place to go! This restaurant is great for dates, celebrations, and/or less formalized business syncs. Make sure to add Peirpont's at Union Station to your list of places to enjoy a meal in Kansas City.
google avatar

Amanda R.

Yelp
Been to Pierpont's twice in the past few months and was surprised, in a good way, both times. First, I love the art deco 1920s feel of the place. The bar is beautiful! The first time I was with my family - we had 11 people. We grabbed a drink and some snacks for happy hour in the bar. Love that they have a happy hour on the weekends! They have a great happy hour food menu - definitely worth checking out. The second time, we came for our anniversary. Again, we started with drinks and apps for happy hour. Both times, I ordered a steak, and it was perfect! The second time I got mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts and they were incredible. The first time, I didn't love the side I chose. I also didn't love my husband's pork chop. Definitely go for happy hour and then grab a steak for dinner!
google avatar

Tim P.

Yelp
We stopped here for drinks while touring Kansas City. Union Station is an active Amtrak station along with a tourist area. We found the bar in the corner of the station during their happy hour. We ordered a couple of beers along with a gin speciality drink. Our local beers were cold. Our friend was not a big fan of her gin drink. She told our waitress and they made it to order. No problem. It came back more to her liking. Place is pretty cool. An old bar area in the station that they have kept the original feel. If you like bourbon this is your place.
google avatar

Neyan B.

Yelp
We went here for Happy Hour. Their dirty Martini with stuffed blue cheese olives is so good. Service was great and and the food was def good. The only down side is they are a bit pricy for Happy Hour. Spend $120 total for 2 people sharing a few items and 2 drinks each. But if you're looking for a fancy happy hour this is good
google avatar

Kevin W.

Yelp
What a beautiful place to dine! It really takes you back to the history of KC's Union Station. The service was superb and friendly. We started with the Jezebel Martini, which features vodka infused with three different types of olives. The subtle flavor was a unique take on a dirty martini, which we love. We shared an arugula beet salad which had all the fine ingredients including pecans, shaved cheese, and two kinds of beets. They were kind to serve it on two dishes since we shared. For an entree, we each ordered a 5 oz. center cut filet. One ordered medium, the other medium rare. Both seemed just a little overcooked but not enough to complain given they were tender and perfectly (lightly seasoned). My side of Brussels sprouts were cooked to perfection. A little crunchy and not soggy, bravo! Unfortunately by then I was so full, I couldn't finish the Brussels sprouts. When it came time for dessert, I said no until presented the dessert menu. Much to my surprise , they had an excellent choice of dessert cocktails! We always joke that we like to drink our dessert, so we finally had an opportunity. We ordered the Barrel Aged Banana Foster Manhattan. Oh. My. Goodness. I have to figure out how to make it at home. It was soooo good. A little sweet, not overpowering on the banana flavor. A perfect end to a grand night out.

Yelp
Alex, our server, was great with menu recommendations. My Filet Steak was cooked perfectly - rare plus with a slight warm red inside. My hubby adores cioppino and enjoyed his dinner also. We will return!!!

Yelp
Location: unbeatable, Union Station, Kansas City MO Ambiance: fancy place, to take your date to a nice dinner. Beautiful bar area, dim lights. Food: Food was great. I thought it was going to be of less quality since it is a 3 dish course. But i was wrong the steak was great. Im not so sure which cut they had but it was not ribeye nor filet mignon. I think it was more like skirt? Despite of that the meat was tender, perfectly cooked. Salad was refreshing. Personally i didnt like the shrimp linguini. The sauce was blunt and a little sour. When i had the first bite i thought it was going to be a disaster but when i included capers on the bite, i finally understood what the chef wanted to achieve with this dish. But i dont think the dish was very good executed Desserts were ok, nothing special. Service: was good Yelp factor: Union Station is one of the best venues in the city. This is definetively a plus

Yelp
Sorry that I did not take any food pictures, but Pierpont's has to be the perfect place for special occasions. It doesn't have creative food really, but if you want a good steak this is the place. The ambiance is perfect, it really is gorgeous. We were seated in a private room tonight and that felt so special. The food was very delicious, and I am very particular. The chocolate cheesecake was amazing. Our server was so great- Stephanie. I liked her so much I unsuccessfully tried to set her up with my BIL . She took great care of us, and I've not had a better server in a while for sure. My BIL treated us all to a meal here and it did not disappoint!

Yelp
I'm a big islay whisky fan and saw they had a huge wall of whisky. Came to see what they had since most bars in the area was very limited. The bartender Benjamin was very friendly and noticed I liked peaty scotches, so he recommended one for me and I haven't tried it. I'm hoping when I go back home I will find it at my local whisky store. Thanks Benjamin!
google avatar

Jim H.

Yelp
Although Pierpont is a wonderful place to stop for dinner, one aspect of this location is the ability just to stop in and have a pre-evening drink or wrap your evening up type of drink. When we're downtown, we often stop at the Pierpont bar just to have a cocktail dessert. Love the service love the ambience and the location.

Yelp
Stopped in for a late night dinner. We were welcomed right away and given a table with a great view to the bar. We enjoyed an appetizer of the crab cakes with lemon aioli (highly recommend) and a Kansas City Strip Steak with whipped potatoes... amazing! To finish we had a Lemon Sabayon Tart with Blueberries. The service was stellar and food was delicious! Would highly recommend!

Melissa

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick drink and snack at the bar. The bar selection is impressive! Sunday Happy Hour did not disappoint! 10/10 enjoyed my food beverage combo. Jezebell martini with Fritto misto di mare. (Chefs kiss) Definitely will come back to try a few more HH options.
google avatar

Stephanie K.

Yelp
This restaurant is located inside union station by the Amtrak. We sat at the bar for happy hour between 3-6. They have great signature cocktails. The Jezebel martini is a premade cocktail. The bartender was great, had lots of local recommendations for cocktail places downtown. The ambiance aligns with union station with jazz music and an older style bar to match the 1900s decor
google avatar

Ruth B.

Yelp
Was lucky enough to catch lunch at Pierponts today. They are only open for lunch on Thursday and Friday. M and I both had their hamburger, which is really a delicious steak burger. They trim all their own steaks and all the trimmings from filets, ribeyes and strips are ground up for these amazing burgers. We ordered ours medium rare and they were cooked perfectly. Served on a brioche bun with goat cheese and a bacon marmalade. The French fries were also very good. Everything about Pierponts is lovely from ambience to service and especially food. And making this kind of special place for lunch puts a definite special occasion vibe at a lower price.

Yelp
My dinner companion chose this, and I was pleasantly impressed. Service was very good. The food was very good, but not spectacular.

Yelp
Came to Pierpont's to celebrate an anniversary and it did not disappoint! Everything we tried was excellent and the prices don't break the bank. Would highly recommend the fritto misto di mare as an appetizer & with the horseradish sauce was divine! We were pleasantly surprised by the free bread service (my boyfriend's favorite part!) and complimentary dessert of our choice. The service was excellent but not overbearing and the noise level was not distracting. The best part, hands down, was the filet. I got the 5oz portion and after an appetizer, bread, salad, and cocktail it was the perfect size for me. We were so stuffed we took the vanilla brioche bread pudding to go and enjoyed it thoroughly later. 100% recommend this place for a special occasion or just because dinner! Cannot recommend enough!

Yelp
Pierpont's is where we celebrate. It's the perfect restaurant for those special occasions that deserve both exceptional dining and a beautiful ambiance. Recently, we reserved a table for 12 for our daughter's college graduation dinner. When we arrived, our party had been whittled to 9 due to some unfortunate circumstances, but the staff was not phased in the least and were very understanding. They welcomed us into a private room and treated us to impeccable service and an outstanding meal. Everything about the experience had a luster of joy befitting the occasion. Over the years I have come to expect this level of excellence from Pierpont's and they have never faltered. Through multiple anniversaries, birthdays, date nights, and now a graduation, they have helped us turn our special occasions into happy memories.

Yelp
My friends and I stopped in for Happy Hour after seeing Mean Girls on The Extreme Screen. The ladies at the Hostess stand were very friendly when I went up to the Hostess Stand to see if they had Happy Hour. She said feel free to look over the Happy Hour Menu and go into the bar area. We opted for sitting at the bar top, which is a very beautiful bar. We were greeted and given menus-I believe there was a couple bartenders behind the bar and they all were friendly and helpful. We all three ordered Cocktails and then I wanted a light appetizer. I had asked about a couple of the apps and went with the Baked Pimento Cheese which was delicious! Pieroonts has a wonderful happy hour drink menu and appetizers as well as staff.

Yelp
5 stars for ambiance, location, service 4 stars for fries and temperature of the steak. Good cut of meat but not prepared to my style. May not be wrong but, I don't like a mild temp. piece of meat. Soup was great. Steak was just ok. Good cut of meat but it was barely warm. Fries seemed like an after thought and just thrown on the plate.

Yelp
This review is for a private dining event for a wedding reception. It was held in the Board Room at Union Station through Pierpont's. It was absolutely perfect. The room was set up just as requested for about 70 people. The service was prompt and polite. The food, well, we are still talking about the yummy food! The steaks were perfect and the huge bacon wrapped shrimp, yum!!! Elle helped us coordinate and plan this event and was there for the event. It was truly a wonderful reception. I love the fact that they were able to just take our guests orders when the arrived. How many of us RSVP with our food selection only to change our minds, or forget what we requested? They had kids' meals available as well. Two bars were open and they also brought wine to the tables to serve. You really can't beat Union Station for the setting, either. It happened to be decorated for Christmas and it was so beautiful!

Yelp
I've always wanted to try Pierpont's, and what better time than on a festive Sunday in Union Station? With Christmas trees everywhere, people in good spirits, and holiday music bouncing off the walls of Union Station, this felt like the perfect spot for a brunch reservation. We took our five year old as we were heading to The Nutcracker later that day and wanted somewhere special. Pierpont's itself is beautiful, particularly their iconic bar. The restaurant has a nice, old-school (but not stuffy!) vibe. I think at times they do an all-you-can-eat brunch buffet with a carving station, but not on the Sunday we were there. The food was delicious; started with fried calamari and it was my kiddo's favorite as well as mine. Wife and I got espresso martinis, we all shared some coffee cake, and I tried the crab cakes benedict which were good. The only thing that wasn't memorable was the pancakes, they were just OK. If choosing between those and their French Toast, I'd lean French Toast next time. Service was good, the atmosphere was cozy, and I'd love to come back for a fancy dinner sometime -- although we'd find a sitter for that for sure!

Yelp
This is my new favorite romantic restaurant. Everything about this place was 100% perfect. I would recommend 1000%. Prices are not too high. The quality of food and drinks are tip top. Everything tasted so amazing. We ate a variety of dishes loved everything. The portion sizes, temps and seasonings were absolutely amazing and perfect. The service was over the top amazing. Our waitress had an extensive knowledge of the restaurants offerings. She knew all of the wines and their little nuances that would bring the best out of the wine and the entrees. Please give them a try! I can't wait till I can go again. I would love to make this a regular stop in the future.

Yelp
The atmosphere of this place gets 10 out of 5 stars. You just feel like you are going to get a quality dining experience simply by walking in. the bar is ceiling high and gorgeous. Perfect for date night or even a client lunch. They close the kitchen every day from 2 to 3, and I happen to show up right before the happy hour, which is from 3 PM to 6 PM, so that is the menu I was presented with. Normally happy hour menus are hit and miss, so I didn't have my expectations set high at all. Immediately I was greeted by the bartender in my drink order was placed in front of me within what seemed like seconds... And it was fabulous... With a bar that impressive, I should have assumed the drinks would be amazing, that's on me. after I ordered, I was given a whole warm loaf of bread and smooth butter, just for myself. It was like all of my foodie dreams were coming true. I later found out that they are known for their bread, and I can see why. The yeast flavor in the bread was superb. I ordered some to go for breakfast the next day! For my main meal, I ordered the goat cheese and bacon jam burger. The ground beef had enough flavor on its own, but the fixings of the burger and the homemade dill pickles really pushed it over the top... Even after all of the bread I consumed, I still finished my entire burger and side of fries... It was that good. The bartender and the wait staff were so attentive even though they were busy. The place was, of course, sparkling clean. I plan to bring a date back here next time. I have no reservations about recommending this place to anyone looking for a great spot to eat in Kansas City, and the location is perfect within union station for walking around and doing other activities as well.

Yelp
Visited the historic Pierponts for KCRW. From the minute I arrived I felt like I walked back in time. We were seated in a dark overcrowded dining area despite there being many other seating options. The service was average. The food was ok. I tried the Philly. Portion was very small. Flavor was good but the meat was tough. The chocolate cake which I was really pulling to be a star of the meal was too a disappointment. Served cold and very dry. Reminded me of a hostess cake. I will say the Bellini Martini was delicious. That was the hi-light of the experience.

Yelp
We had not been here since before the pandemic. We returned in November 2023. We really enjoyed the dinner. We used an Uber to get to and from there, which was very convenient and avoided the parking complications at Union Station. Unfortunately, they no longer have bouillabaisse, but the bisque soup was very good. The happy hour discounts on wine are excellent between 3 pm and 6 pm, but dinner begins at 4 pm, so 4 pm to 6 pm is best. The crab cakes appetizer is very good, but very expensive, even during happy hour. We were impressed to find that the rice pilaf uses vegetable stock instead of chicken stock, but it is lacking in spice. The Caesar salad is outstanding. We were very happy with everything, but we wish they would bring back the bouillabaisse, which had been a highlight of this elegant restaurant.

Yelp
we made reservations for a Saturday evening with a party of six. They were able to accommodate our group and even had a gluten-free menu for the food allergy that we had. when we arrived we were greeted and checked in and seated within minutes. Our waiter was phenomenal. He was so attentive and educated on the entire history of union station, and Pierpont. This made our evening even better than we expected. our steaks were all cooked to perfection and the sides or wonderful as well. I highly recommend Pierar Ponce for a date night, happy hour, with friends, or business or holiday event.

Yelp
Once again, this was for a department meal for my work, so it may not be the run of the mill type experience. We were seated in a private dining room at a couple of large tables downstairs with the wine racks. Service was nothing short of perfect. We had a few shareables to start, including meatballs. But the real winner was the Caesar salad...which had homemade dressing that was extremely strong (be cautious, a bit goes a long ways). The filet with whipped potatoes were simply perfect; medium rare and fluffier than a cloud. And while I'm not a big bread pudding fan, the bread pudding (cake, loaf, idk) was really really good. Once again, whoever books this stuff for my company did well, because Pierponts was memorably good.
