Lively Latin American fare with weekend brunch & fiery shows

"Chef Lorena Garcia’s beautiful Miami restaurant has closed for renovations after earning a 2024 OpenTable Diner’s Choice award, with no reopening date available at this time." - Laine Doss
"Chica is one of the more mature clubstaurant options on this guide. This MiMo spot is on a relatively quiet street far from any loud bars, so it’s a good option for folks who are afraid of South Beach. The restaurant only transforms into a full-fledged clubstaurant on Fridays and Saturdays starting at 9pm. During those times, sparkly dancers weave through the big dining room while a DJ and accompanying live saxophone player ensure it’s loud enough to distract you from the menu's ridiculous prices. But unlike most clubstaurants, the service is good and the restaurant’s design, a sort of mid-century modern Tulum, is actually pretty. The food is just barely above average but we like the cocktails." - ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino

"Miami has always been a magnet for extravagant nightlife, so it was only a matter of time before partying and dining merged into one. With hospitality gurus like David Grutman leading the way with restaurants featuring over-the-top decor and indulgent dishes. Spots like Sexy Fish, HaSalon, Papi Steak, Backdoor Monkey, Joia Beach, and Chica fit the bill." - Alona Martinez

The restaurant only transforms into a full-fledged clubstaurant on Fridays and Saturdays starting at 9pm. During those times, expect sparkly dancers to weave their way through the big dining room while a DJ and accompanying live saxophone player ensure it’s loud enough to distract you from the fact that the chips and guacamole cost $22. But unlike most clubstaurants, the service is good and the restaurant’s design, a sort of Mid-century modern Tulum, is actually quite pretty. The food is way overpriced and just barely above average, which, for a clubstaurant is about as good as it gets. We like the cocktails though, and they have some shareable drinks that can serve up to eight." - Ryan Pfeffer

"A bit farther north, Chica—designed by the Rockwell Group—boasts Latin American flair with a sultry design and dishes like tropical corvina ceviche and grilled Peruvian octopus."
