The burgers here are absolutely delicious! They also have a wide variety of beers, and the place has a fun, sports bar vibe. The atmosphere is fantastic!

It works like a fast food restaurant, you order the food and then pick it up at rhe counter. The portions are good for the price, but the quality is very underwhelming. Mercifully, you are allowed to request for continents at the counter. The ambient is mostly pleasant and comfortable, but the food needs a complete rework before it wad even close to worthwhile. To be specific, the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich was ok. But the garlic fries were probably the worst I've had in many years.

The food looked great and tasted fantastic. Our favorite appetizer has got to be the Bacon & Cheese Fries. You can easily share that plate with another person as a side for a main entree. We got cheeseburgers and every part of it was delicious. We went on a Saturday morning and the customers started picking up as soon as they opened. The place is very clean and organized and the inside was easy to navigate especially for newcomers. The establishment also contains a bar, however the place seems to be very much family friendly and welcomes all of any age. I would highly recommend checking them out for their delicious, and reasonably priced food. They certainly live up to their "best burgers in town" sign!

St. John's Bar and Grill is my favorite burger spot and I don't even like burgers. I used to come here with my best friend who passed away in a motorcycle accident a long time ago so it always brings back great memories. I still come with my brothers and friends. It's great for children because they have a kid's menu. Both of my nieces ordered the fried chicken tenders with fries. My daughter ordered the patty melt. Their menu is expensive. I ordered my favorite which is the blue cheese and roasted garlic burger. My other favorite is the mushroom burger. They have gluten free buns for the burgers but unfortunately not for the Philly cheesesteaks. I think my brother and best friend ordered the double cheeseburger and we also got the cheesey fries with the bacon on the side for my friend because he's mindful of me not eating bacon. We also ordered the garlic fries. They still have the cool sauces (not just your boring ranch, mayonnaise, mustard and ketchup) they have Indian flavored sauces and more. The employees are really friendly even during the dinner rush. She was very sweet and patient with us and went above and beyond to get my party's complicated order correctly. I always love coming here because of the nostalgia. If you haven't tried this place, I think you'll like it at least if not love it. It's a place to come and make memories that feel like home.

Google
I wanted to take my boyfriend here because I’ve lived here in Sunnyvale and St. John’s has always been a great place for food and drink drinks. Well A lot has changed, especially the prices. All this for $82 My Caesar salad, the dressing was awful. It was so sour. I try to put some ranch dressing in it make it better it didn’t. And They really are a little stingy with their ranch dressing I ate the chicken that was it my boyfriend enjoyed his bacon Swiss cheeseburger, the onion rings Were OK the fries were so salty. Too bad I Probably won’t ever come back.

Google
From Iowa - asked what I had to have if it's the only time I'm here and got an amazing guac burger! Crew was awesome!

Google
Love this place for happy hour and to watch any sports game. Lots of seats and burger are great.

Omicamy M.

Google
Came here for the first time with my coworkers. I can tell you that the food was delicious. Ordering the food went pretty quickly and we didn’t have to wait much for our food to be done. They have a bar for those who love to drink. You get a pretty good amount of food, I didn’t get to finish it all but the food I got was pretty delicious.

Yelp
Went for lunch on a weekday You order at the counter Got the Cajun chicken sandwich and onion rings Also got the cream soda It's got a cute rustic vibes The food is really tasty You pick food from the counter once your buzzer buzzes

Yelp
Love me a Philly, and this is a great place to get them. Throw in fries and you're all set. My wife enjoyed the salad, which was a nice blend of greens and other veggies. Dressing on the side without asking is a nice touch. Their rotating beer selection is great. Inside can get noisy if it's lunch time or a game on, but there's always outside if it's a nice day - which in California is almost every day.

Yelp
Short Story: A great place for burgers and fries! Long Story: I've been coming here for the past 8 years and it's always been a good experience. Full disclosure I've always gotten to-go and never ate there. I've gotten several items on the menu such as: double burger, chili burger, jalepeno burger, patty melt, etc. Each time the burger has been cooked exactly the way I want it. Surprisingly the bun does not get soggy even with a 30 min car ride home. The fries though do and at times are super oily. They can also get really hard and hollow so it feels like you're eating a potato chip instead. Other than that though it's been a good experience. The prices are mostly in line with expectations and the ambiance and decor are welcoming. They have both tables and booths along with a bar. The place also has a number of TVs so I'm sure game night gets busy! Verdict: I'm going back and getting to go for sure!

Yelp
I got the cheeseburger which was 14 dollars. It doesnt come with tomatoes which was fine but it comes with mayo, lettuce, cheese, and raw onions. Its a pretty decent burger but I wish it was cheaper. The burger itself was really good and you get a bag of lays chips instead of fries. We also got a drink and basket if fries and the drinks were unlimited refills. Plenty of tables since we went around 8pm on a Saturday. The bathrooms are clean and service was fast and you pick it up yourself. Everything was great until I asked staff for ketchup that was behind the bar and yelled at me telling me to go the self serve ketchup area. The man wasnt even doing any anything and the bottle was right behind him.

Yelp
Casual walk in joint. Order at the counter and they give you a pager to page you when it's time to pick up your food. Got a burger (forgot which one) and a hard cider. Garlic fries: 5 stars. One of the best garlic fries I've had in a long time. Really garlic chunks and plenty of it. The burger was huge and we shared between two people. Th we hard cider was so good. Not too tart. Sorry I forgot what it was called - from Humboldt county I think. Over great food. We sat at the bar and our bartender let us tasted the cider before we ordered it. Which was very helpful.

Yelp
The food was great! The pepper and pepper jack burger was delicious. Definitely better than the mushroom burger. The burgers come with lays chips on the side. The service is incredibly fast for a burger to taste that good. Very impressed. The ambiance is very dude coded. As a walked in I could count the number of women present on one hand. There's plenty of seating and all the dudes seem to be having a really great time. Definitely bring "the boys" to this place they'll love it.

Yelp
Love this place so much! The food is always hot and fresh! Service is always quick and chill. I love that they have a patio for your furry friend. Garlic fries and poppers are a must! Love their grilled cheese too! They are closed on Sunday and Monday though!

Yelp
Great burgers in a good variety of toppings. Solid quality craft beer selection. Casual comfortable environment with sports always on the televisions. This is a Silicon Valley classic lunch spot and watering hole.

Yelp
Have heard so much about this place and read the reviews, so I was excited to try the best burgers in the area. After a long day at Great America decided to check it out. Has a bar area with craft beers on tap and it's a great place to watch any games if your sports fan. TV's all throughout the place and has outdoor seating as well. People were friendly, but was really disappointed with the food. What we ordered: Hickory Burger: Way too much mayonnaise on the bun, patty was seasoned very well, but the burger was very soggy from the bbq sauce. Took one bite and my burger broke lol. Overall ok. Buffalo wings: Wings were a bit overcooked and were too crunchy. They did provide us a lot of ranch, but the sauce on it was a bit overcooked powering. Not my favorite. Basket of Fries: The best thing ordered. They were crispy and really good. Great spot to check out if you're in the Santa Clara area, but not a place I'd go out of my way for if I'm carving a burger.

Yelp
I'm really sad to write this as I normally love their food and bartenders. However My husband forgot his bag on the back of our bar chairs when we were there for a quick burger and beer today. Once we got home he realized he didn't have his bag so we called. We stated we were sitting at the bar and asked if they could look for his bag on the back of the bar chair. The woman asked where we left the bag and my husband and I looked at each other confused because we just stated where we left it. My husband joined the conversation and stated at the bar on the back of a chair. She asked if we left it outside after that. We were even more confused after that. We were put on hold and when the woman came back she said it wasn't there. My husband thought to to check if anything in his bag had an AirTag and it did. It showed his bag as at St. John's. I called back, the same woman answered. I asked for the manager. She refused and said call in the morning. I asked for the shift lead and she hung up. I called back and I told her the bag was there and she hung up. I called three more times and she continued to hang up. Finally I called and I told her I wouldn't hold and that we had an AirTag and the bag was there. She finally admitted yes, the bag was there. She stated she had no idea to ask the bar. I let her know I told her initially when I called I shared we left it on the back of a bar chair. She told me I was yelling at her. She was definitely intoxicated or otherwise impaired, as she had no memory of our previous call and had irrational anger about being wrong. So unfortunate, as their BBQ is pretty good.

Yelp
St. John's Bar and Grill has been a classic spot for years. Tuesday's is Tri-Tip Tuesdays, but I always end up getting the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich. I got the combo Philly, which comes with mushrooms and peppers. Each sandwich comes with plain Lays potato chips on the side. The ladies at the front counter who take your order are always so nice and sweet. With the Summer coming up, their front patio area is a great place to eat your food at.

Yelp
Hadn't dined here in 10-15 years. Joined some coworkers after work this Wednesday. Shared onion rings, fries and buffalo wings with a friend. Onion rings- good but batter a little too thick imo Fries - crispy and tasty buffalo wings - typical flavor but chicken was quite dry - comes with celery Cheesesteak - coworker got this and said was too salty and seasoning was too strong Overall, typical drinking food but nothing special. You order/pay first and get a buzzer. Seat yourself. Huge parking lot

Yelp
We had a group of six going to Top Golf, and we found St. John's on Yelp. It's in a strip mall that seems a little run down. But, parking was easy. The Warriors were playing so the place was very busy and it seemed to be a lot of regulars. The process is stand in line, order, take a number, and food is delivered to the table. The food was great! We had burgers, salads, and chicken sandwiches. Burgers were large! The curry and chipotle ketchups were nice additions. The beers included several local breweries: well done. When looking for a casual burger or pub, it's a great spot. We will definitely add this to our list of go-to places.
google avatar

Yelp
The Cajun cheese steak is an incredibly tasty treat! Pair it with the best garlic fries you've ever tried and a pump of one of their yummy sauces, and you've got yourself a seriously tasty meal! Let's not forget about the great draft beer selection including pliney the elder from Russian river! The beer menu is extensive and has something for everyone! Lot's of local favorites. The atmosphere here is just what one would expect for a proper bar & grill. Hardwood walls and columns, dark(ish) booths, a nice outdoor area. They have got it all! I had a chance to frequent this place for a few months and I love it. It's like an oasis in an otherwise baren desert of food and fun. Give them a try!
google avatar

Selena B.

Yelp
Theyre burger kings. Walking in check out the menu pay and grab your buzzer. Simple food made right. The only think was the wings are a miss . But the double cheese burger was so satisfying. Homemade sauces to compliment the savory burger.

Lori H.

Yelp
When we arrived I was surprised to see the amount of people inside as the parking lot is kind of small but able to fit many people because this place was packed for lunch! I had an old fashioned hamburger and shared a side order of fries. The basket of fries are huge! The food, service, atmosphere, prices all were awesome and am looking forward to returning with more people and time to spend!
google avatar

Luis J.

Yelp
Big portions and good food. The staff is friendly too. We enjoyed the burgers and fries.
google avatar

Yelp
Decent burger spot in Sunnyvale. I used to go there frequently during the late 90s to late 00s. Their 1/2 off specials were a great bargain for a 99-Percenter like me. Burgers are still great, including the garlic fries. The prices have risen significantly over the years, but it's still affordable. Like Jeff h. said, it sad to see it empty on a Saturday. Prior to the pandemic, the waiting line used to stretch to the door. I walked right up the front on a Saturday evening. Although, there were times when it was super-busy that I wished it was shorter. All in all, still a good place to have a burger and brew and watch sports. I got to chop it with an old friend and during busier times it was a little hard to carry on a conversation. And yes, I will be back.
google avatar

Allison W.

Yelp
Came here on a Wednesday evening for dinner, and there was plenty of seating available. You order at the counter inside and they are very fast with getting you your food. We chose to sit in the patio outside, where there were also TVs stationed to watch sports. I got their cheeseburger, and it was good! I really loved the sharp crunch of their pickles. A very solid, sturdy burger. They come with mayonnaise, which I found interesting. They have a wide variety of burgers and other meals available, and I'd love to come back to try them!
google avatar

Alex B.

Yelp
Great food, good service and plenty of places to sit. Good for happy hour, watch sports or simply catch up with family or friends.
google avatar

Miguel L.

Yelp
Way over due for our visit. Decided to go on Friday before the Mothers Day weekend and it was great. Not too busy. Plenty of seats and tables available. The parking was ok. A lot of different busnesses there in this plaza type of environment. I decided to try the Cajun Burger and a basket of fries and also a Cajun Philly Cheese Steak sandwich with a cold soda and it was splendid. It hit the spot.
google avatar

Draco L.

Yelp
I love this place! A friend introduced me to it earlier this year, and I've been back so many times since. My go to order is the Double Cheeseburger with a Basket of Onion Rings, but when I'm extra hungry, I'll go for The Big Daddy instead. The wait is never too long, and I like that every order comes with some chips on the side. The burgers are always nice and juicy, and the onion rings are delicious. The sauces here are pretty good too, I always get Honey Mustard. I'll definitely keep coming back for more!
google avatar

Oliver L.

Yelp
I used to frequent this place a lot in my youth. The burgers used to be good and the place was cool. We came to eat here last night and it was ok? I mistakingly ordered a cheesesteak and my wife got a burger. The garlic fries were just soggy fries with jarred garlic chunks thrown over it. The fried zucchini's were salty. My cheese steak wasn't anything special and the cheese was rock solid from the pickup counter to where we sat. I didn't have any beer but the menu looks well stacked. I guess it still a locals spot to say the least. I may or may not stumble back in one day. ‍
google avatar

Heidi F.

Yelp
I haven't been here in decades, but no matter. It seems to be closed Mondays and no longer has daily specials, but it is still absolutely worth visiting. I am happy to be here and to see it still in business! The fries are delicious and the curry catsup is addictive. The booths are cozy and the food is good (basic dishes like burgers, etc).
google avatar

Stephanie H.

Yelp
Service was good, you don't really interact with anyone after ordering which I don't mind. The bar selection was good. Not many options for non-drinkers but their cherry soda was yummy. I got the mushroom cheesesteak and would recommend it. We also got a beg for mercy cheesesteak and would not recommend it, the pepper taste was overpowering. Lastly we shared fried zucchini which tasted a lot of Italian seasoning but was yummy. It's a good spot to watch games. Would come back
google avatar

June W.

Yelp
Great low key place for dinner. Very casual. Order at the counter. Great classic burgers. Done perfectly with a nice crust. The onion rings were very good. Solid choice for dinner.
google avatar

Mary N.

Yelp
I love how the this restaurant is decorated. The walls, TV screens, and table setting gives very American vibes. Got a cheesesteak here and it came with a bag of chips. The sandwich is definitely shareable for two people if you get a side of fries of onion rings too!
google avatar

Fei C.

Yelp
We are watching the NCAA final four games here. It is a local favorite place. We ordered buffalo wings, fried calamari and drinks. The drinks are the best as they have a huge and awesome tap beer menu. The appetizers are ok (wings and calari). The service is mostly self help and locals love the ambient environment (regardless you are here to watch sports, hang out with friends or whatever)
google avatar

Guadalupe H.

Yelp
This place is awesome for friend and coworker get togethers. There is plenty of seating for large groups and the menu is pretty extensive. The service is kind and the food comes out pretty quickly! I recommend the Guac burger, onion rings and their delicious chipotle ketchup!
google avatar

Brent B.

Yelp
Good ole Silicon standby for burgers, chicken, fries, and beer. Typically busy but worth the short wait.
google avatar

Ingrid G.

Yelp
Fast service and lively crowd! Food is your typical sports bar grub but if you want to experience getting into the games, this is the place to be. Took my soon for his 24th bday and it was fun
google avatar

Pheap S.

Yelp
The Hubby took me here for a daytime date. Because, we wanted to watch the Warriors game also. The burgers was amazing! Juicy and flavorful. Casual setting and they have outside seating too from what I saw. Definitely coming back!
google avatar

Mimi P.

Yelp
I often came here with friends when they had their weekly deals which they do not do anymore. The restaurant has plenty of seating inside and also outdoor seating with shade. As for parking, it is located in a plaza which can be crowded but sometimes there is plenty of parking. For food, the quality is different from the previous years and the garlic fries' portion had too much garlic and less fries in it. The cheesesteak had flavor but lots of bread than meat. As for the burgers, they still taste filling and so good! I also ordered their sweet potato fries which were yummy too.
google avatar

Cherry H.

Yelp
I cannot resist ordering the Hickory or Guaco Bacon Burger whenever we stop by. Paired with a nice cold beer and garlic fries, the whole meal is complete. Nice place to watch hang out and for sports. Order at the counter and a buzzer is given to you to let you know when your food is ready.
google avatar

Basil N.

Yelp
St. John's is a walk up and order style of place, with plenty of seating. We tried a burger and a Philly cheese steak sandwich. I found the burger disappointing even though this seemed like a burger place to me. The bun was cold and oversized for the burger, it just didn't work. The Philly was good and we had onion rings on the side that were good. Would I go again, yes, but I'm not jumping at the chance to go again.
google avatar

Michelle V.

Yelp
Food here is always delicious. My go to is a burger with a roasted aanaheim chile & pepper jack cheese. I highly recommend it!
google avatar

Jack W.

Yelp
Loved the food, ease of ordering, and the environment. Great place to get a beer and watch a game. 10/10 and highly recommend.
google avatar

Lloyd C.

Yelp
St. John's is a good sports bar and depending on the sport and season, it can get super crowded! They have inside and outside dining options. Plenty of tvs to watch your favorite sport. The restaurant is decorated in a sports theme. The last time I went here, they used to have daily specials, like BOGO, half off sandwiches, etc. Unfortunately, they discontinued them. I didn't see the signage they used to have. Anyways, still delicious burgers. Patty Melt: 1/3 lb fresh ground chuck with grilled onions and cheddar cheese on toasted sliced sourdough. Small Side Of Our Just-Cut Fries. They do have new sauces for dipping or on your burger. For example, chipotle ketchup, curry ketchup, and honey mustard.
google avatar

Yuka Y.

Yelp
Food is amazing!! I usually get teriyaki burger with pineapple on the side. It reminds me of the teriyaki burger at japans McD's and that's a compliment. The restaurant is like old style bbq. Counter tops and plenty of seating. Cashiers always fast and nice
google avatar

Salvatore P.

Yelp
Man o man I haven't been here in 25 years. I'm glad I was in the area to eat here again. I love there Cajun chicken sandwich and the fries. I could of at 5 of them.the rates went up since then but worth it. I'm ok paying alittle more if the food is good. If your in the Lawrence expressway Sunnyvale area give this place a try you won't regret it.
google avatar

Himanshu B.

Yelp
Good burgers and Philly cheesesteak sandwiches and beer on tap. Good place to watch game in a group. Mix of outdoor and indoor seating. Mostly self service.
google avatar

Pauline N.

Yelp
Super fast service! I like the setting here. There is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. I wasn't feeling the most hungry and I had a bit of a headache, so I opted for a salad. I was very nervous because there were a handful of bad salad reviews. Southwest Chicken Salad - Chicken was NOT dry, so I really enjoyed that! Whatever sauce that is on the Southwest Chicken Salad was not memorable. And the salad was overall not that flavorful. The most flavorful part of the salad was the jicama, which was seasoned with Tajin. There were not many jicama bits. Maybe 3 total... Although the chicken was not flavorful, I think I would have been satisfied if there were just more corn, beans, and jicama. -1 more star down because I had to clean my cup haha. I asked the cashier for a water cup and he looked over to the two cups next to him... one looked used and the one I grabbed had a big pepper seed in it (or that's what it resembled) . Luckily, I am not a germaphobe so I just rinsed it out with water at the soda fountain. Not a good look for a restaurant though...

Erfan

Yelp
The Tritip sandwich was awesome and delicious. One of the best BBQ spots you can try for your lunchtime

Antoinette M.

Yelp
St. John's is still amazing! Been going here for many years and they never disappoint. Patty Melt, fries, onion rings, carrot cake. Needed a Friday meal to round out my week and I am glad I chose here!! Consistent quality, friendly staff amazing food.

angel J.

Yelp
The staff was amazing and nice.had a very nice conversation with the kitchen staff they were 100/10 service. Food was great for the price. Location is a bit weird but inside the restaurant is really nice.
google avatar

Candice V.

Yelp
This is a solid spot for drinks and bar food! I love how easy it is to order. They have condiments easily accessible. We loved our burgers and chicken (thighs) and bacon burger. Onion rings are a must!!! Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Parking was also easy.
google avatar

Desirae P.

Yelp
Placement bad. Hometown bar and has a community vibe to it. Used to love the burgers but tbh the last time I went - not as good. Bun was soggy and the patty was lacking flavor and also sorely soggy. Fried such was decent and that's a go to for me anytime I see it on a menu. Overall decent but not a party for the tastebuds.

Scott W.

Yelp
With a group of six, heading to Top Golf, we found St. John's on Yelp and decided to visit. What a great place! We tried many things on the menu: burgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, fries, and fried zucchini. The line was 10 deep but it moved quickly. The place was packed for the Warriors game, and it was a fun, lively crowd. Food was delicious. It arrived quickly, especially for the size of the order. I was intrigued by the dangerously hot options but elected to compromise with adding the serrano peppers to a regular burger. Prices were extremely reasonable. The chipotle ketchup, while not rocket science to make, was a nice addition. The beer selection was great, and it included local, Bay Area breweries. Again, prices very reasonable. It was packed inside so we sat on the patio. The game was playing outside, too, so we had the benefit of fresh air, good food, and the Warriors. We have added St. John's to our list of key places to go.
google avatar

Jessica N.

Yelp
Solid burger spot! St John has been around for decades but this was my first time trying it. You order at the register and seat yourself. Burgers range $13-$15 and come with a bag of Lays chips. Burger was tasty - I liked the potato bun, but I wish they would ask how to cook the meat as I thought mine was slightly well done. The garlic fries were really good and a big portion. The Buffalo wings were terrible though - do not order. Overall a great burger joint.
