Food: The Caesar salad, potato puree were next level. The London Fog Verrine was delicious. The $70 steak i had was good, but not worth the price; there was quite a bit of "silver skin" and too much bone.
Drink: The mocktail i had was great (Negroni), although it would be nice if they had a bit more selection. I'd guess they could make you just about anything you asked for though, as there was a lot of talent behind that bar.
Ambience: Late 60s/early 70s gentlemen's club vibe, with an incredible view. Get a table near a window! The music was a little loud, but it's a happening place and i'm old, so... We dressed up, but there were plenty of people in jeans, so no one's going to look at you askance for your attire.
Service: Saving the best for last, because this is where they stand out. Everyone, from the lovely young lady who welcomed us and escorted us to the elevator, to the hostess who greeted and seated us, to the bus people, were polite, personable, full of smiles, and happy to help with anything we needed or asked for.
Now, to our server -- Barry. Barry knows what he's doing. He reads his table and immediately knows what kind of service they want. The table across from us were on an intimate date, so he was fast, discreet, and didn't stick around. My husband and i have been together for almost 30yrs; we came in from our farm for a rare date night and an even rarer splurge for a fancy meal. He was funny and generous with his time and attention. He made great suggestions and always came by at the exact moment we needed him. He even walked us to the elevator when we left. Barry's a gem.
The staff alone is worth the price of our meal. Recommend.
