The menu is simple but the food is done so well I'd give it 10 stars iesthetic. I got 3 hard tacos, and they were surprisingly light but still filling. Salsas are delicious. Service was quick and friendly, and I loved the design aesthetic.

Fish tacos were delicious and plenty. I loved both the rice and beans and at most places I only like one or the other. We'll be back!

Mangos Mexican Cafe 44 W Main St, Mesa, AZ 85201 I had the pleasure of visiting Mangos Mexican Cafe for the first time, and I was truly delighted by their fish tacos! 🌮 I ordered the combo #2, which featured the fish tacos, and they were absolutely fantastic. The tacos were not only delicious but also quite generous in size. I also enjoyed the refried beans, which complemented the meal perfectly. I can’t wait to return for another visit! Those fish tacos were a real treat!

On a recent road trip with my sister to AZ we stayed one night in Mesa. Since we were only planning on eating one dinner, we wanted it to be the best the little town had to offer. Mangos did not disappoint! The service was fantastic. The food was fresh and served fast. The chips were spot on with both red & green salsa (being a New Mexican this is important to me), the spice was just right & the chips were perfectly salted. My fish tacos were damn delicious! 10/10 would recommend!

Google
THE best Mexican food in Arizona. I love their chicken soft tacos AND I DON’T LIKE CHICKEN! Everything is great, and the icing on the cale is their Limonada. Incredible, you won’t regret prepaying for a refill (only $2.00). I live 20 miles away and still find a wsy to work a lunch into my schedule.

We happened to come in right before it started to get busy and the gentleman who rung us up was friendly and answered our questions about which meat to get for the chile relleno and the sizing. It was all sooooo good! My shredded chicken enchiladas with the green sauce was tasty and the chicken was well seasoned on it's own. The rice was flavorful and not dry like most Mexican places tend to be. Even the horchata was cinnamon-y without ever coming across a clump of cinnamon. Next time we go to Mesa, it's a must!

Google
These guys are awesome!! The food is always fresh and oh so good!! These guys are part of the El soul family. You know that awesome salsa you can get at Costco? We this is better and fresher and the original recipe! They have been in the restaurant business for ever so they know what they are doing and know how to make everything tast awesome! Keep up the great work! Love you guys!!

Yelp
A few of us went to Mango's for lunch on Saturday. I was very impressed with the food, the employees, and the service! Everything we had was delicious. People were friendly. When I went to refill our drinks the man knew what I wanted even though I wasn't the one in our party to order them in the first place. Will definitely eat there again.

Yelp
Had lunch here with a friend/coworker. It's was completely packed inside. Not a single table left, and a long line waiting to order at the counter. Fortunately, some other people from our building were there and asked us to sit with them, so we not only had great company, but a seat at a table. I've been coming to Mangos for years. It's such a cute restaurant, painted in bright colors to look like a little Mexican village. There is also seating outside, but it's too hot this time of year. I ordered the chips and salad (you must pay for them--no freebies here), a grilled tilapia taco (soft), and a crispy ground beef taco. Chips and salsa were good. They also bring a squeezy bottle with salsa and another squeezy bottle with extra hot salsa. The chips were good, too. My tilapia taco wasn't as good as it normally is. Just a little fish and eat too much sauce, which was a little sweeter than normal. I just picked the fish out with my fork. Unfortunately, I was served a shredded beef taco instead of the ground beef taco I ordered, but I just ate it. They were slammed and understaffed and I like shredded beef. if was okay. A little lacking in meat, but the flavor was good. I feel like mangos is struggling a little bit with consistency. It's now somewhere between good and fantastic at any given time, but in the past you knew it would be fantastic all the time.

Yelp
Very lively environment. My sister and I were walking past this place looking for the food truck pop-up in downtown Mesa. As we walked past we could smell the aroma of the Mexican food coming from there. By the time we made it to the corner our stomachs were growling and we said let's just go back to that spot that smelled so good. When we made it back there was a nice crowd of people dining in and outside as well as a few people in line to order. We got in line and the person taking our order was super friendly and helpful. Our nachos came out not too long after placing the order. The nachos were so tastey. The chips were very fresh and the toppimg were too. I asked if they could substitute the shredded meat options with ground beef and they were able to accommodate. The ground beef was hot and there was a nice portion of it . They were out of their hot salsa but the mild one was good. There are plans to go back and try more off the menu, but those nachos hit the spot for that time.

Yelp
We had the carne asada chimmichanga and chicken enchiladas. They were delicious, as were the chips and salsa!!

Echo M.

Yelp
my bf and i love mangos!!! their talapia fish tacos are delicioso + their chimichanga tastes pretty good as well, and it's a solid size. we also ordered the fried ice cream dessert which was soooo good but we were too full to finish it btw their bathroom is rlly cool. the cashier was so kind and answered our questions joyfully! very nice ambiance

Yelp
Amazing customer service, food was well presented and delicious! Highly recommend, we definitely will be back. Great local restaurant that compliments downtown Mesa perfectly.

Yelp
The staff are all very kind and very hard workers! Our party had a variety of items but the crispy tacos and chips and salsa were our favorite! You order, pay, get a number, THEN grab a table and your food will be brought out hot and fresh.
google avatar

Kaitlyn I.

Yelp
Delicious! Ordered a killer burrito and a chimichanga, both were fantastic. My 3 year old had a kids bean burrito and almost ate the whole thing!(she normally complains about food). Staff were very kind and helpful. Restaurant was clean. We went just as they were opening so it wasn't very busy when we arrived but it had a nice crowd when we left. Absolutely will return!

Yelp
My favorite Mexican restaurant in AZ. Every time I come to town, I make sure to visit a couple of times. We also get a quart of salsa to go. Maybe I can convince them to open up one in Florida close to where I live. I would be in heaven
google avatar

Ashley T.

Yelp
I've passed this place plenty of times without having the opportunity to stop in and that was definitely a mistake. The food here is the BOMB and the inside is super cute and colorful. I had the Carne asada chimichanga and it was soooooo good. I almost ate the entire thing but I still had a lot of walking to do so I grabbed a to-go box instead. I loved the chips and salsa too, the chips are the perfect kind that you can tell are made in-house because they aren't too thin or too thick, and the salsa is the perfect amount of chunky. Highly recommend this place for a quick bite. We had a table of 8 and they were still very attentive with the restaurant filling up with fellow scavenger hunt folks.

Yelp
This is an adorable little spot in Downtown Mesa to enjoy authentic Mexican food! We stopped by Mango's around 2 p.m. on a weekday after hiking all morning, and found this was the ideal way to refuel after a trek through the Superstitions. You order at the counter inside the restaurant, and then choose your table either inside or outside. The decor is colorful and fun - and we ended up sitting on the patio to enjoy some Arizona sunshine. My husband and I each ordered the Killer Burrito with shredded chicken, which was packed full of flavor and served in a handmade tortilla. We also split an order of the perfectly crispy chips, and delightfully fresh salsa and guac. Mango's is also known for its rotating selection of Agua Frescas, so we sipped on a few of those alongside our meal. The limeade was my favorite -- not too sweet, not too tart. I absolutely recommend Mango's to anyone looking for a taste of classic Mexican cuisine. We'll be back the next time we're in town!

Yelp
My favorite Mexican restaurant! The owner Omar is always working and still acknowledges and remembers my family and myself since we started going 20 years ago. Genuine guy and his staff is very service oriented. Love the ambience with the wall decor and Spanish music playing. The food is impeccable and I am a sucker for their hot sauce and tacos! I am a lifer!

Elaine R.

Yelp
If you're looking for a great place that serves really good nachos, then I highly recommend Mangos Mexican Cafe. I tried the Macho's Nachos and I was not disappointed at all! The portion size of the nachos was perfect. I got ground beef as the protein and it brought back memories of how nachos used to be. It was about dinner time, so they were quite busy, but we were able to get sitting quickly after placing the order. I will definitely be back again.

Yelp
We walked to this spot after spending an afternoon at the Mesa Arts Center. Good options to pick from and the food was made fresh! We enjoyed the taco salad and the chicken tacos. We loved their salsa too! Food came out quickly and service was very friendly and consistent. Plenty of seating inside and out of the restaurant. A nice stop for the afternoon!
google avatar

Woody M.

Yelp
Mango's does not disappoint! This is our fifth or so visit. It's our go-to place for dinner when in Mesa for a concert at the Mesa Arts Center. The food is consistently great and the service is very friendly. The decor is unique; like being in old Mexico. A fun place to bring the family or, like us, for a date night. The sidewalk patio is a great spot on a nice night.

Yelp
My favorite local Mexican food spot! Always have a great experience and great food here. Bean and cheese burrito is my go-to and my mom says their fish tacos are the best around.

Yelp
My mom, daughter, and I stopped here after visiting the museum. This was my dad's recommendation to us while we were in downtown Mesa. He told us to get there quickly because it will get busy for lunch - he was right! We got there perfect timing where there was a couple clear tables. We sat down and looked at the menu (pictured) and there was plenty of choices! My mom got our order so we could hold the table. We got chips and salsa for our table while we waited. There was a mild salsa and a spicy one. Me and my daughter went for the mild and it was so tasty! If I let her she would've finished the whole basket. Our food was amazing! The kids meal my daughter got was well portioned. It was one taco and beans and rice. I got a combination plate with the taco and cheese enchiladas and it was amazing. I usually don't like restaurant enchiladas but it was actually well done. The taco was a chicken taco and it was also well done. It had a nice crispy shell to it. The bathroom to this place is actually located in the back. You have to walk through the kitchen to get to it. From the looks of everything the kitchen is very clean! It was cool to see that in a restaurant and makes you confident in your food. Overall I will definitely be coming back here! It was the best Mexican food I'd had in a while. My daughter and I both completely finished our plates! My recommendation is get there for early lunch to beat the traffic. Me and my mom saw a lot of people walk in and then walk out disappointed with no more seats available. If you find a table (outside options too) I highly recommend eating here!

Yelp
We wanted authentic Mexican food and Mango's Mexican cafe was our solution. The place looked really nice and welcoming when we came in. When we walked in, we went to the line at the counter and started picking out what we wanted to eat. The line went by quickly and it wasn't that hard to find something good to eat. We ordered at the counter and then found a spot for us to sit. We were expecting a long wait time but the food game by really quickly and our waiter was very nice. I ordered the crispy tacos, my partner got the veggie burrito and limonade, Andy sister got the kid crispy taco. Overall the food was fresh, authentic, and best of all delicious. As we were eating, we enjoyed the vibe of the place, the music was nice, it was small yet cozy, and the workers made an effort to keep the table and the rest of the place clean so the next set of customers would easily find a spot that isn't full of crumbs or other messes. I could tell the people here work with pride and hard work. I would totally come back here again.

Yelp
This Food is so great I have to avoid driving by.... Otherwise I find myself inside ordering!!! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Mangos is becoming my favorite go to place downtown Mesa. Every time I am there I am greeted right away, and service is just excellent from start to finish. I am truly addicted to the crispy shredded beef taco, the shell is fried perfectly and holds that juicy shredded beef so well and does not break down the center when you bite into it, it's a perfect taco from start to finish! I also pair it with a side of Spanish rice, and this rice reminds me of the rice my mother in law makes. Such a great meal! If you are in the downtown area and are wanting great tasting tacos, you need to give Mangos a try. There is plenty of seating inside and out. You might even see me there haha
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious food from a family owned restaurant! I got the shredded beef stuffed enchiladas with green sauce. Good service and nice decor.

Yelp
Great people trying to do their very best and succeeding. Nice indoor outdoor seating. Order at counter and they bring to you. No alcohol but wide array of drinks. Pollo asado quesadilla with guacamole was very good. He had fish tacos and an orange Fanta. Very nice lunch spot and some fun people watching.

Sharon S.

Yelp
Food was amazing. Chili Rellenos was so tasty. Gentlemen at the counter were super helpful and kind. Space is small but super clean and nicely decorated.

Erin R.

Yelp
Cute little place. Counter service was fantastic. Food was amazing...we will definitely be back

Yelp
This family-oriented Mexican restaurant is a great place to have a satisfying meal with friends, family, or just by yourself. Like most Mexican restaurants, they serve the favorite standards, at good prices and with friendly and fast service- maybe even faster by the fact that you order at the counter. The ambience is simple, colorful, and very casual.

Yelp
We have been going to Mangos. For years. Food is wonderful the casual dining is great and the outside seating is great as well when weather permits the staff is friendly and accommodating. I like also the choice of salsas anything I have ever ordered has been tasty and amazing My son now 35 use to go to Mangos with his orientation instructor Tom when he was in grade school. He's visually impaired and learned how to cross streets etc with his cane as a child in downtown mesa. The staff would give him a juice when he was walking by and many years later my son and I met for lunch there and the staff members still there, were surprised that I was his mom as we were there at different times back then and I had found out that he got free juices when he was navigating with his cane. so kind and now well my son can navigate there easily. . He has a guide dog now. And we love to go eat there :). Great people. Great food. And a great contribution to our city of Mesa !! They have been for a long time !!! Awesome.

Yelp
Baja Fish tacos are insane! This place also has the best chips and salsa! This place is a must for authentic mexican fiod!

Jean H.

Yelp
Fabulous food. A family favorite for Mexican food for years. But, alas, they changed the seating options a few years ago, so we can no longer go with family - four-top tables bolted to floor so impossible to eat together. We really miss sharing the great food and friendly atmosphere with our kids as we did for many years.
google avatar

Matthew M.

Yelp
Great food, great service!!! Quality in every bite!! Spanish rice on point!! Refried beans are the best in AZ, guaranteed!!! The staff is great and friendly!! Can't beat place!!

Melanie H.

Yelp
Delicious!! Guac and salsa was amazing. Chimichanga was very tasty as well. Very happy to support a family owned local restaurant.

Samuel C.

Yelp
Live right down the street and have always been meaning to try! I was pissed at my self it took me this long! Food and service was 10/10!!!! Will be going back regularly!
google avatar

Toryanni E.

Yelp
Cute little place! Friendly staff! I had a quesadilla and it was excellent. Tortillas are homemade which makes everything taste much better. I just ordered something with only white cheese for the first time but they seem like they'll substitute things for you if you ask. Iced tea is good, chips were also very good. Definitely looking forward to visiting again.
google avatar

Matt J.

Yelp
Went with a work group while at a conference. we all ordered something different and everything was absolutely amazing. The staff was a friendliest you could ask for. Nothing but great things to say about Mango's!
google avatar

Darya S.

Yelp
Went on a Saturday night, got the chicken fajitas, and enjoyed myself! They brought out complimentary chips and salsa (even though at the cashier, they said it'd be extra?). Food was about $15 and came out quickly. I sat at one of the tables outside on the sidewalk and listened to the Mexican music playing while eating my meal. It came with rice, refried beans, guacamole, salsa, and sour cream, and has five ounces of beef (yes, I am the dork at restaurants with my food scale). Overall, it's not outstanding food, but it's quick and easy Mexican food with a homey atmosphere.
google avatar

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Always so delicious. I ALWAYS ALWAYS get the cheese enchilada & shredded beef taco combo, it's ALWAYS spectacular, best cheese enchilada & sauce isn't spicy just perfectly flavored!! And the aqua Fresca is delicious especially the pineapple!!! Can't go wrong!

Linda L.

Yelp
My order was for eggs over medium. They came hard and were replaced with sunny side up raw eggs. Ouch!! Someone was mad in the kitchen.
google avatar

Marc S.

Yelp
This is a great little Mexican restaurant in downtown Mesa that did not disappoint. It's a little small, but by the time my food came, there were plenty of tables available indoors. I was a little disappointed in having to pay for chips, but they were well worth the $3.99. You can tell they were homemade which is far and above the free chips at most restaurants. The salsa was of a medium spice and the waitstaff asked me if I wanted something spicier which I did! He brought out a habanero salsa that wasn't overbearing but definitely had a kick! It had great flavor and I would really recommend you try it. I ordered two crispy chicken tacos a la cart and they were perfect! One thing I will mention is the waitstaff was above and beyond friendly and helpful! He really made me feel like I was a welcomed guest in the restaurant and not a nuisance. I highly recommend this place and will absolutely be back!
google avatar

Amie T.

Yelp
If you're looking for traditional Mexican food, this is your spot! Very delicious and perfect portions. Inside and outside seating available. The employees were very nice and greeted us with a smile! Our only downside is that they do not serve alcohol, but that is great for the non-drinkers. I've been here many times and will go back again!

Crystal V.

Yelp
This café is the most authentic Mexican food I've had in Arizona. 10 out of 10 recommend!

Yelp
This is the 1st restaurant I was taken too after my flight from Ohio and it did not disappoint. I told the waiter it was my first time there and he explained of the items I was interested and recommended the killer burrito based off of what I wanted and im so happy he did. He also asked if I wanted the chips and salsa which was an extra few bucks so I figured why not. Our chips and salsa came out right away nice and fresh, not too greasy or salty. Definitely in my top 5. Our food did not take long at all to come out. My burrito was definitely very tasty and massive! My friend raved about her food as well. We asked for some to go boxes because the portions were nice and im sure it will taste just as good later tonight. The waiters even took interest and sparked up some conversations after finding out I just landed from Ohio. I love the staff and felt like I was in their home. Will definitely visit again!

Yelp
This is a good Mexican Restaurant. The tortillas were extremely fresh and they serve an outstanding shrimp taco. When I first entered the restaurant I didn't understand the restaurant layout, it appeared to be a regular restaurant that you wait to be seated, but it was the type of restaurant that you ordered at the counter. I walked in unaware if I should seat myself, and inquired a staff member. The staff member could not assist me due to a language barrier. When I finally figured out the ordering process, I ordered at the counter. The restaurant is slightly pricey and I had to pay for the chips and salsa additionally. Overall the food was good, tasted very fresh and had good flavor.

Nicole S.

Yelp
We always love Mangos and make special trips to enjoy your tacos and nachos especially. Tonight (1/25/25) our family came in and not only devoured our meals but we especially noticed the service. Your tram was fantastic and really on top of it. Very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend. Thank you!

Yelp
We came here for lunch after a visit to a nearby museum. It was fairly busy on a Saturday afternoon but we were able to find a table. Food: not a big selection but everything we ordered felt home made and from scratch. My picky 5 year old said the food was so good that clapped his hands after a few bites. The waiter gave us extra chips and salsa while we waited for the food. Service: you order from the counter and the waiter brings you the food. Friendly staff. Stopped by several times to check on us, even though we already paid for the food and tips when we ordered. It's like an amazing version of chipotle with home made food. Highly recommend for a quick lunch/dinner spot.

Yelp
This is the best hidden gem in downtown Mesa. They've been around for years. The service and food is absolutely phenomenal.

Yelp
7.23.20 Quick trip to Mesa & popped in for a quick bite: a healthy-sized fish taco, topped off by a fancy melange of mango, citrus & cabbage, side of guacamole & a watermelon agua fresca. Yummers! Covid 19 Protocols: takeout orders only, no dine-in, masks required of customers, employees wearing masks
google avatar

Krista D.

Yelp
Had the shrimp tacos! They are always a solid choice with just the right amount of kick. The salsa is good but the chips are AMAZING! The service here is always great!
google avatar

Noah G.

Yelp
Mango's is such a good little spot in downtown Mesa! The service is so warm and welcoming, Pam and Amanda were so sweet! The food was on point as well, I definitely recommend this nice spot!

Yelp
We stopped in on a busy Saturday night. Service and friendliness from the workers were 5 stars, even with a busy night. Our food was also incredible and hot. It did take awhile to get it, but worth the wait! We ordered chips and salsa, shrimp burrito, rice and beans and a carne quesadilla. Their tortillas are delicious. The beans and rice were also so great.

Yelp
At some point I have to accept that this is no longer my favorite Mexican restaurant. The problems started when David left. He had always been there to greet us and make sure everything was good. Then one day he was gone. Tonight my chili relleno was crunchy like it hadn't been roasted so I sent it back and the new one which took longer than the meal originally came back worse. This was the fifth time in a row my food was terrible. Last time the taco salad and then the chicken fajitas which I should hve know the chicken just is t good So I guess that's it no more mangos. Hopefully I can find another good option it just seems like these days there are few good Mexican places left. The new tables and chairs look nice
