The Best Crab Cakes in Baltimore | Bon Appétit

A banana-yellow neighborhood pub about 15 minutes northeast of downtown that’s beloved for its massive, precisely seasoned 11-ounce crab cakes made from daily-cut breadcrumbs and a recipe that’s been followed since the bar opened in 1985. The interior feels beachy and fragrant with crab seasoning; the intimate space turns over quickly (around 2,000 cakes a week) and reservations are recommended. - ByChristina Tkacik

Google
Customer service was excellent. I ordered online and within 5 minutes I received a message that my order was ready. Was greeted as soon as I entered the restaurant. Ordered was bagged and ready to go with condiments. Ordered cream of crab soup and crab cakes. The soup could've used a little more seasoning however it had lump crab in it. The Crab cakes were exceptionally good. I will be returning and I will definitely recommend to others.

Google
This was a fun local spot! We came specifically for the crab cake but ended up trying the creamy crab soup and jerk chicken dish as well. To be totally honest my favorite piece was the giant hunk of tomato that came with the crab cake! But overall a great stop while in town!

Google
I ordered online for takeout. Staff was friendly. I got the crab soup and crab cake platter. I paid around $65 for both. The crab soup was creamy and had good chunks of crab. The crab cake was huge. It was amazing and was practically all crab. Fries were good. I'd say it was well worth the price.

Me: Hun you know I’m not a fan of crab cakes Husband: there’s other stuff but they are known for crab cakes Me: I’ll try a bit of yours…. Ok, wow. This is amazing. I’ll have my own order. Yeah, that good. Fresh, meaty, perfect.

Google
This is local neighborhood staple. They have some of the best crab cakes and shrimp salad in Baltimore City. This pub has been open for 40 years and they are family-owned and demonstrate work-life balance to the fullest. Well done Koco's!

Google
Came here for the first time today!! I must say everything was delicious!! I had the crab dip, cream of crab soup mixed with Maryland crab soup and a crab cake platter! As I stated EVERYTHING WAS GOOD!! Sorry no pics but trust me you will not be disappointed!

Google
For the first time in a while, I didn't get their WORLD FAMOUS Crab Cakes. Their half n half Cream of Crab and Crab Soup was PREFECT and I will definitely get that again!!! I don't remember which Cheese Burger I had but cooked to confession 😋

Google
Simple review here: one of the best (if not the best) crab cakes in the state of Maryland. Service is great and the cozy atmosphere is also a fun energy for a night out. Great option for date night!

Yelp
I've heard great things about Koco's Pub and wanted to try it for myself. My friend and I stopped by for a late dinner. We ordered the crab cakes of course, salmon blt with fries and a guava margarita. Kocos owes me nothing. The bartender made my drink perfect. The crab cakes are popular with reason. The salmon blt was juicy and simple. Fries crispy and a decent portion. The bar is well lit with a moderate noise level. The bathrooms are clean and all the staff were friendly. Positive dining experience all around and I would for sure return.

Yelp
Sorry, Koco's Pub - we just weren't fans... We had heard about their crabcakes and were highly recommended in checking them out - we decided to do a carryout order while in the area, in which they text you when your order is ready (which is pretty convenient)! We ordered: +the Creamy Crab Dip - probably the worst crab dips ever; came with 2 large sliced baguette bread, topped with some melted cheese; the dip itself was just not good - it had an off taste to it, more cream cheese than crab, and was not fresh - it was inedible, as it made you literally gag; the bread itself was tasty, as it was buttery and cheesy, however it was useless without the dip! +the 'Double' Crab Cake Platter - came with french fries, coleslaw, lettuce, and a sliced tomato ; unfortunately, the crab cake itself was super bland and had absolute no flavor to it; it also contained some shells +an iced tea - we had requested sweet tea, but the individual in the front must have 'misheard'; we received the unsweetened version The biggest gripe was that they only had Cholula hot sauce - crazy! Staff were friendly, and the place was packed to the brim, with both patrons who were dining in and for those who were picking up. There is limited street parking, but patrons can also park in the Safeway parking lot down a couple of blocks into their overflow area. No dice, Koco's. +bland crabcakes +worst crab dip ever +inaccurate orders +street parking available

Yelp
Amazing! Best crab cake I've ever had. Every bit worth the 3 hour drive. The amount of crab was incredible. Definitely make reservations well in advance. We took a chance and got very lucky. Thankful we got a table. The coleslaw is a perfect side. Took some uncooked cakes home to make at home. A must go to!

Yelp
The staff were so nice and the crab cake was MEATY. Probably the meatiest crab cake I ever had. They have also won a bunch of awards and been open since 1985! The ambiance is so cute and they have a statue of a bird in the door. I would come back!! :) I will say I did not expect market price to be $41 for a single crab cake so definitely be prepared for that market price to slap you!
google avatar

Yelp
We drove a long ways just for these crab cakes. I have not found any other place that's better. This is our 2nd time here and it was worth the trip! Service was excellent. We will be back and highly recommended! Thank you!

Yelp
Honestly the best crab cake you can get in the country! I brought my parents here when they came to visit and they absolutely loved it. The servers were friendly and the ambiance was great.

Yelp
Roaming points north and hungry, Koco's showed up on my radar. Glad it did and we were lucky to get Kelsey as our server! Great gal and excellent service, she gave perfect recommendations both for drinks and entrees. Our table shared the Koconut Shrimp appetizer and I had a cup of the cream of crab. The shrimp were massive and coconutty crisp. The raspberry jalapeño dipping sauce slaps! My cream of crab soup was delicious with enough crab to tease the palate. The crab cake platter was so filling. 11oz. was all crab and zero filler! Oh man, again I couldn't finish lol indeed defeated. No complaints and drinks stayed flowing! Crushes so refreshing. Space was definitely filled with locals and nearly everyone came for the cake. Parking in the area is limited and dining tables can be reserved so call ahead. Bar tops only around the bar.

Yelp
Been seeing a lot of reviews of this place, specifically for their crab cakes, and decided to try it. Was impressed and will return. Parking can be tricky as there is no dedicated parking area, instead there's off the street parking in a residential area. The establishment itself is small; however, we were greeted promptly and seated for a party of 2. The waiter was friendly and attentive. The food came out hot and good. Definitely recommend the lump crab meat and the cream of crab soup as both were delish. The half and half soup was good too.

Yelp
While visiting Baltimore my friend took me to Koco's because he said it was the best around. I was a little skeptical but I can honestly say it was the best crab cake I've had in a long time. It was full of crab and barely any filler. It was seasoned to perfection and delicious. The service was friendly and fast. I went on a Tuesday night and it was crowded but I was told on the weekends there is normally a line outside to get in. I will be going here every time I'm in the area.

Yelp
Claws and Effect Spectacular family-run diner in one of Baltimore's more hipstery neighborhoods that's been in operation since 1985. This once formerly Zagat-rated restaurant was also named the #1 crab cake in the Maryland by Barstool sports. They also sell an average of 2k crab cakes a day--which is a lot of friggin' crab! The Good: *Great service by the staff *They do take reservations, but only by phone from what I can tell. The only reason I know is because that was the first thing we were asked when we walked in. *Craft brews on-tap *A lot of times a place can get hyped up as "the best," only for you to be let down once you get there. This is not one of those places. The crab cake was superlative and had a nice crunchy exterior and a nice moist interior with great fresh crab flavor. It's not cheap, but YOLO. *My Texas Burger was maybe the best burger I've had all year; juicy, fresh, and gigantic, this burger put me in a food coma. *Cream of Crab Soup was also excellent. Creamy, luscious, and highlighted the flavor of the crab. The Meh: *No outdoor dining *Street Parking was sparse on a random weekday early afternoon, but at least it's free. *No outdoor dining The Ugly: *The price on the crab cakes are outrageous and fluctuate with the market, but it was fucking delicious and worth every penny. So, let those words be your guide. Conclusion: Fantastic restaurant with great service and scrumptious food. Get the crab cake!

Yelp
Arguably among the best crab cakes in Maryland. Admittedly I've had them to go a couple of times (so I can't speak the service or ambiance) and their hours can be spotty, but they make a fabulous crab cake. That much is for sure.

Yelp
I looked online for crab cakes in the area and Koco's was the number one recommendation. So glad I listened! Four of us split 2 crab cakes because they are huge, but expensive. Worth the money if you have it. We sat at the bar since all the tables had been reserved. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Yelp
Vibrant with plenty of regulars and new customers, Koco's Pub does not disappoint. The night colored interior with colorful menus and accolades along the walls adds to the vibe of the restaurant. Upon arrival I was informed about the recommendation for a reservation. It wasn't helpful since I was walking in but there was no issue putting my name of the list. They have bar seating and standard dining seating and the bar is not first come first served - the reservations were abundant so there was a bit of a wait. We thoroughly enjoyed our drinks and food. The rum punch is made well. The rum punch for two is a stronger version of the single rum punch and comes in the parrot cups. The individual cocktail is great too. We started with the half and half soup - half cream of crab, half Maryland crab - it was tasty. The bowl was hot and the seasoning was good. The Salmon BLT sandwich was filling. The bacon was crisp and added a nice touch. For the side we enjoyed the onion rings which were a good size and tasted fresh. The star of the evening was the crab cake for sure. Full of flavor and chunks of crab meat, it was truly worth the wait. The fries were hot and crispy and the cole slaw is pretty good. We received good service, the bartenders are friendly and attentive. I would for sure go back.

Yelp
Listen.... this was our first stop of the crab crawl tour hubby's birthday and it served! The only downfall was there was no open reservations for the weekend so we ordered to go. Let me tell you, the young lady who was training the other young lady ! She was so kind and patient with her and I love seeing that. I ordered the 2 crab cakes and 2 sides. Man, they were absolutely delicious and worth every penny! The next crab stop has competition because they got a 10 from us. Just go. The to go wait time wasn't bad and they text you when your order is ready. Will be sure to come back when in Baltimore and make reservations before flying in.

Yelp
First time trying this spot. Good call. Crab cakes were excellent. Not a lot of filler and lots of true crab flavor. Staff was friendly and service was fast. Definitely a do over spot. Casual atmosphere and lots of menu choices. Festive for the season.

Yelp
Best crabcakes in Baltimore... maybe even Maryland. 11 ounce crabcake all lump crabmeat.. what's not to like? Also love that you can choose between caesar or fries. Been here twice now - had to take my parents. Everyone approved Service is friendly and fast. It's a cute small place that gets SUPER busy so plan accordingly!

Yelp
This place has been on my list for some time and I was able to check it out during a solo date with myself before picking up kids from practice. This was a great treat of self care as it was impromptu where I had extra time on my schedule . You can't miss the bright yellow exterior. Since I was solo and I was not aware of the need for reservations but, I was able to grab a solo seat at the bar. The restaurant is quite quaint so I can see why reservations are so important. I ordered a jr crab cake, cream of crab soup and a margarita from the bar. Everything I ordered was delicious and the staff were even better. Parking is very tight in the area so you will definitely have to be on the lookout. I will definitely be back as this place is a true Baltimore gem .

Yelp
I have heard for years that this was one of the best places in Baltimore for crab cakes, but I never took the time to check it out for myself. After seeing a review recently on TikTok, and seeing this listed again as one of the top 10 places in Baltimore for crab cakes I was ready to try it. My sister and I stopped through on Friday evening during peak dinner time. The only down side was there was nowhere to wait indoors until our table was ready. There was only a bench outside and a picnic table with a bench on the side of the building. Luckily, the weather wasn't too uncomfortable, and we did not have to wait very long (approx 10 minutes). Once inside, the magic happened. Very, very small and intimate seating (you could literally touch the folks seated next to you), however somehow, the staff makes it work so you don't feel crowded. We had the cream of crab soup, and the crab cake platter. Whew Chile!!! Let me tell you, this place definitely lived up to the hype. Big ole lumps of crab meat in every bite of the crab soup. Loved it! And the crab cake platter was just more of that delicious jumbo lump crab meat. It was well seasoned, and not overdone. The coleslaw was delicious, the fries were crispy, and it was a nice touch to have a little old bay on the tomato. I was stuffed and could only eat half of my platter, so I loved having left overs as well. The Hershey's gold chocolates were a sweet ending to a lovely meal. Will definitely be back for a repeat.
google avatar

Taylor S.

Yelp
Yes--the crab cakes are delicious! If it's just 2 people definitely share the crab cake platter since it comes with fries and coleslaw. It's a huge crab cake! You can order the crab cake only too! They do get busy so reservations may be needed--we sat at the bar since most seating had reservations for the lunch rush! The service was great and all staff super friendly! The atmosphere was super fun! Parking we just parked up the street and was super easy!

Yelp
10/10! I highly recommend this place for crab cakes. They are huge and all crab meat. They are market price but well worth the price. I tried this restaurant while visiting Baltimore. I told others that I had visited this establishment, and they all agreed that it's the best place to get crab cakes in the city. I tried the steamed shrimp with onions as an appetizer. They were good but nothing special. I was given a glass in honor of their 40th Anniversary; however, I left it on the table when leaving then restaurant.

Sunny R.

Yelp
Let's keep its short and sweet . Jumbo lump crab cake no filter . So good and huge . Eat it there or take it home . Either way it's amazing. Service is always great even when crowded

Yelp
Tuesday 3/25/25 I had heard a lot about these being the best crab cakes from people in my life and from MrChimetime on TikTok. Today I'm finally putting that statement to the test. My mom and I ordered online and got the double crab platter (2x 11oz) $75, so we could both have our own crab cake. She also got the koconut fried shrimp, which I was able to sample. Also great thing I ordered for takeout because it was PACKED inside. The service was pretty good. The lady who was taking care of me was very kind and friendly, and she made sure everything was all set and good for me. - These are the best crab cakes I've had and it's not close. They have very little to no "filling" like mayo & breading, it's just a whole bunch of crab. - Not too much to say about the fries: they're just basic unseasoned fries. - I sampled my mom's koconut shrimp and it was solid. It comes with a special spicy raspberry sauce that was cool but didn't really do much for the experience. My mom did enjoy the shrimp, tho. These are the best crab cakes I've had, and I will be back for more.
google avatar

Mark S.

Yelp
Sadly, it's not what it used to be. I used to love going to this place. It has a good neighborhood atmosphere. However on my last visit, I got my usual crab cake. This time it smells and tastes VERY fishy. Crab cakes are not supposed to fast and smell fishy. It appears they are filling them with the cheaper fish meat instead of 100% crab. I won't pay those prices for a fish cake. So time to fine a new one.
google avatar

John D.

Yelp
Food was great, service was good attention to detail is what I got from my server, it's a cozy throw back to old school for the ambiance very warming ... the onion rings , wings , fresh salad crab soups all was on point!! The drinks from the half and half or just ice tea all the way to cocktails (old fashioned) my favorite was good!! But the start of the show was that jumbo lump crab cake!! Was unmatched it's definitely a 10/10 fried or broiled!! If you don't like waiting order on line and they will send you a text when ready, but I'll recommend if you can to dine in and take it all in..
google avatar

Jo G.

Yelp
I have to admit this is my current favorite crab cake in the state of Maryland. Koco's is a pub for sure that offers some amazing food. Unfortunately I got there late in the evening before the kitchen closed and was rather hungry but the pound of steam shrimp was tender, juicy, hot, and seasoned well with the crab seasoning. They bring you a chilled glass for your bottled beer which was a nice touch. Overall I was here mainly for the crab cake. It does not disappoint and took everything for me to not order two. Large chunks of lump crab meat, almost no filler, broiled to perfection, and built like a softball. Yeah pictures don't do it justice and clearly I didn't wait to eat. There are two entrances (bar & restaurant) and parking is limited to the street. The restaurant gives a beach style vibe with a large bar to serve your beverages. It stays quite packed from the three times I've visited now. Overall the crab cake is a 5 of 5 for me The total experience 4.2 of 5 Please go try these guys out and judge for yourself.

Yelp
Stopped into Koco's for lunch and honestly, while I expected a bigger space, what they lack in size they make up for with HUGE personality and amazing service. Every single staff member was so warm and friendly -- you truly feel welcome the moment you walk in. I even ended up having a great convo with the person sitting next to me (which is rare these days!), so the good energy here is contagious. We ordered the crab dip and crab cakes -- both were phenomenal. One little detail that really stood out: they serve your meal with a thick, seasoned slice of tomato. I've never seen that before, but it was actually so good and added a fresh, flavorful touch! Special shoutout to Brittany behind the bar -- her drinks were on point and perfectly made. Already looking forward to my next visit. If you're craving great food, chill vibes, and genuinely kind people -- this place is it.

Yelp
Food is amazing. I'm a crab cake person and it's the best I've ever eaten. I'm from Baltimore but live in Chesapeake, VA. My church took a road trip to the African wax museum and I convinced my pastor to get the bus driver to stop by Koco's. He and the church fam couldn't stop talking about Koco's crab cakes. I believe they ordered more later, had them shipped home. lol The Staff always great. THE BEST!
google avatar

Trina B.

Yelp
I haven't had a crab cake from this place since 2015. My daughter decided to get carry out from here. I'm a Pappas crab cake fan for years. But I believe that Koco's is better than Pappas in my opinion. Pappas crab cakes have more lump meat in it, it's more wet and smaller. Koco's crab cakes are bigger and has better flavor than Pappas in my opinion. So I'll be going to Koco's Pub to get my crab cakes.

Yelp
After hearing so much about Koco's and seeing them on some best of Bmore lists, I got here on a Wednesday afternoon around 3:30. Quiet with a couple of tables occupied and a couple at the Bar. Smaller dining area with a standard length Bar area and some fun art/pictures with quotes on the walls. Their flagship Draft happened to be one of the Drink specials. Monument City's 51 Rye was a tribute to Baltimore's Rye Whisky history. 51% Rye-was a unique IPA with a spicy finish. Cucumber Rickey was another Drink special and unique cocktail-Gin base with cucumber sparkling water and Lime-I enjoyed it! While waiting for our to go order, decided to try some Jalapeno Poppers-just right spicy served with an out of the ordinary raspberry Jalapeno sauce-paired nicely! Tuesday's special offer is a Burger and Beer for $20. The Tuscan Burger sold out yesterday. After seeing this, decided to order a Burger to try along with their famous Crab cakes. It was the two 6 oz cakes platter. Solid Crab cakes with jumbo lump Crab and minimal filler. Our Texas Burger didn't disappoint. Cooked medium as ordered with tasty/quality Beef. Side of Crazy Greek Salad was excellent! Service was engaged and excellent both at the Bar and for takeout. Hard to miss given their bright yellow exterior with blue trim. A former "hole in the wall" with award winning Crab Cakes, elevated Bar/Pub fare and unique cocktails!

Yelp
Walked into Koco's Pub thinking my family of 4 would grab a quick bite. Walked out (slowly) questioning every crab cake I've ever had. This thing was massive--less crab cake and more crab commitment. Every bite was packed with crab, not filler, and by the end I was googling whether it's legal to marry seafood in Maryland. The inside was giving colorful Caribbean vibes, only thing missing was a beach view and breeze. The staff (and patrons) were super friendly with our girls (5 and 3) and chill, not giving the annoying waiter banter or pretentious attitude which is wild because with crab cakes this good, they could be snobby and I'd still thank them. But no--just good vibes and great food. Honestly, if this is what Baltimore hospitality tastes like, I might never leave.

Yelp
Subject: Feedback on Crab Cake Experience Dear Koco's Owners, I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience from my recent order on December 12, 2025, regarding the "Jumbo lump" crab cake I ordered, which unfortunately did not meet my expectations. and left me highly disappointed. I was particularly looking forward to the jumbo lump crab cakes, as advertised. However, I was disappointed to find that the cake did not primarily feature the jumbo lump meat I expected and used to getting, Instead it seemed to contain a significant amount of "lump" which is not as advertised nor is it what I've had in the past. Here are a few points I'd like to highlight: - **Quality of Crab**: The absence of the jumbo lump meat made the dish feel less special, and it didn't deliver the rich, sweet flavor characteristic of high-quality Jumbo lump crab meat. - **Texture**: The texture was not as light and flaky as I had hoped; it felt more dense, likely due to the "lump" and not "Jumbo". - **Overall Satisfaction**: Given the reputation of your restaurant and the price point of the dish, $50 after tax. I was expecting the 11oz JUMBO LUMP crab cake, but instead I was given a crab cake with a few pieces of lump on the outside and regular lump all throughout, which is NOT what I paid for. I appreciate the effort your team puts into crafting your food and hope this feedback helps with being honest and making the crab cakes as advertised! Thank you for your attention. Best regards, [Reese PerKins] [443-902-2320]

Yelp
No question. Best crab cakes in Baltimore. We sat at the bar and had great service! Will definitely be back

Yelp
The absolute best crab cake - hands down!! I ordered via carry out and they were on time. Customer service was great even with high volume of customers. Very cutesy and hip location in Baltimore!

Yelp
The vote is in, Koco's pub does indeed have the best crab cake in bmore. Koco's has been at the top of my list for places to try and boy did it exceed my expectations. The cakes are the size of softballs, all lump crab, and seasoned well without the use of a ton of filling. The pub itself is bright and cozy. It reminds me of being in key west. Service was extremely fast and friendly. Highly recommend making a reservation as this place can get extremely busy (understandably so).

Yelp
I pre-ordered my crab cake platter for Valentines Day and was excited that I got my order in before the rush. I awaited the text message the day of and proceeded to the restaurant after I received the notification. There was a line out the door but it was addressed quickly. The space was quaint and brightly painted. There was a large cooler of softball sized crabcakes ready for packaging to be cooked at home. The hostess were kind and patient with each person whether they were taking an order or answering a question. I gave my name and immediately received my order. My crab cake was beautifully broiled and filled with lump crab meat. The Caesar salad was fresh. The shaved parmesan cheese slices gave an enjoyable salty note to the meal.

I had the crab cake platter! It was a deliciously meaty crab cake! The quality was great, customer service was warmed welcoming, and the place was clean!

Great size and taste for a cake. Service was awesome and the place is quaint & neighborly.

Great atmosphere with great food . A little on the expensive side but worth it for the experience. Big lump of cream cake for $40 - wor

Yelp
The crab cakes here were the best I've had. I come from California, so I'm used to crab cakes being puny, primarily filler, and costing $90 still. These were humungous and was like all crab! I tried a few spots while in town and Koco's definitely stood out since it was perfectly seasoned and broiled well. The others I've gotten had more filler or were bland. I made it before closing for takeout so I can't speak speak to the ambiance or service, but the person who took my order was friendly.

Yelp
We saw so many reviews of Koco's crab cakes so we decided today was the day to try them out. We drove the hour from Bowie to experience their famous crab cakes. We called the restaurant to get a reservation. They were able to accommodate us. When we arrived the hostess immediately sat us down at our table. The restaurant was small but adorable. The restroom was VERY small. So small I hit my head on the door lock. Instead of two tiny stalls they would fair better with one decent stall. Our waitress was cheerful and friendly. She immediately brought us waters and took our order. We settled on the two glasses of Chardonnay for our cocktails. We shared a bowl of half and half soup, a ceasar salad, a crab cake platter that came with fries and coleslaw. The glasses of Chardonnay were buttery and delicious. The best part was that the Chardonnay was only $5 per glass! I need to mention that we asked for a second plate to share the food we ordered. The hostess brought over a paper plate. If I am in a restaurant, I expect an actual plate. This is not a cookout or a carry out restaurant. The half and half soup and the ceasar salad left MUCH to be desired. The soup had a good amount of lump crab but had no flavor and was watery. The salad was mostly the hard white parts of the romaine and it the dressing had a very tangy honey mustard taste more than the common flavor of ceasar dressing. The crap cake was FULL of lump crab meat and it was huge! My issue was that it lacked the traditional flavor of Maryland crab cakes. Some more old bay would have gone a long way. I must say the $40 price is worth the 11oz crab cake. The bill was brought and had two chocolates on it. Nice touch. Bottom line Koco is a good place for a drink and some bites. If they make small changes I would love to give them another try.

Yelp
We came here on a Saturday afternoon and sat at the bar with no wait. We ordered a half pound of steamed shrimp and they were absolutely delicious. They were very juicy and good amount of old bay seasoning. They were tender and perfectly steamed. Wr also ordered a crab cake platter and a single crab cake. The crab cakes were huge and mostly crab with very little filler. The only thing that could have made them better is if they had more old bay seasoning . The fries were seasoned well

Yelp
CRAB CAKES REVIEW: A delicious crab cake experience. What I like about Koco's is their takeout quality is just as good as their dine-in. One of the best crab cake experiences I've had in Baltimore. The crab cake is large a full of jumbo lump crab meat with very little filler. Too much filler in a crab cake can sometimes overshadow an otherwise high-quality source of crab meat. I like that the crab cake isn't overly broiled which is good because you're able to taste the freshness and natural texture of the crab meat without feeling like you're eating a crab-flavored version of it. The Maryland crab soup is also delicious. Koco's does traditional pub-style food well. Overall a great experience and I'll continue to dine here for crab cakes. Parking is limited. I recommend ordering in advance to give them enough time to prepare the order. This place is busy on weekends.

Yelp
We came to try out the crab cakes. 11 oz is a lot of crabcake. Do not get their kettle baked chips (it's a bag of Utz) . Seating is tight . Parking is on the street.

Yelp
Cute, vibrant corner place. Limited seating. Most ordered takeout. The Crabcake Platter for $41 was adequately priced for the 11 oz. sized Crabcake. Came with fries (fresh & hot), beefsteak tomato and 1 Romaine leaf of lettuce sprinkled with a touch of Old Bay (it IS Baltimore!) Crabcake was full of jumbo lumps BUT filled with the crab butter that we detest! Cooked beautifully on the outside but under in the middle, which made the inside more disgusting. They may have used a smidgen of Saltines and a hint of mayo to bind but very little and that's it. It's definitely ALL crab, which it should be at this price. The Grilled Chicken sandwich with Onion Rings was perfection! Pounded to the right thickness (1/4), seasoned, good Cheddar and nice, fresh beefsteak tomato, red onions and lettuce. The Tarter Sauce is EVERYTHING! Cocktail sauce is good to but more standard. Overall, would try again but for the lunch special 6oz size and less cost. Worth the visit.

Wowzers!!! I cannot even believe Ive never been here before being from Baltimore! Such a happy joint!! The building is a bright yellow with so much of a B~more , happy, peaceful vibe! The decor is adorable & Our waiter was awesome he suggested the BEST, most unique pineapple drink Ive ever had! The coleslaw... It was so flavorful, I just wished the portion was bigger! They must do something magical to their french fries because they were delish! Overall 10/10 & we will be back often!! You guys ROCK!

Yelp
I couldn't come to Baltimore and not stop by the famous Koco's. I walked in with my boyfriend and we were greeted at the door. The server asked if we had reservations and we said no. She said that's fine and found us a table available near the bar. The ambience gives small town vibes. Everyone at the bar was having a great time. The waitress was nice and gave us time to review the menu. Although, we saw specials on the board, the waitress didn't go over them with us. We ordered the jumbo lump crab cakes with chips and fries. I see why this is the best place for crab cakes in Maryland. The crab cakes came out and had no filler. All lump crab meat. This is the first time I've experienced this. It was so delicious and filling. I ate half of the sandwich. I can't wait to go back and try other menu items.

Yelp
Beat crab cakes ever! The crab cakes are humongous and contain very generous portions of lump crab meat! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
A last minute change of plans resulted in going back to Kocos for an amazing dinner with friends. The Honey Old Bay Wings were amazing. The all jumbo lump crab cakes are even better than any other restaurant in Baltimore. Serving the local Hampden and Lauraville neighborhoods for years with dependable food in a friendly family environment.
