"Dottie’s Donuts, with locations in University City and Society Hill, doesn’t have as many spots in Philly as Dunkin or Federal Donuts–which might be why the lines outside of their shops are as long as the Apple Store when a new iPhone drops. But with reasonably priced vegan donuts ($3 for filled and $2 for classic and deluxe) that can range from blueberry rosewater with a mini pop tart on top to a subtly cinnamony oatmeal cookie, these airy circles of dough are worth lining up in single file for.  The Sixth Street shop opens up early, runs until the mid-afternoon (or when they sell out), and is best used for takeout since they only have a small counter space. I'm not a vegan, but these donuts were incredible! Probably the best cinnamon bun I've ever had and some exceptional donuts, too. The staff was great too. I will definitely be coming back when i have a chance. Highly recommended!

We love Dottie’s - I bring my 4 year old here once a week for a special breakfast date. Donuts are always amazing - great mix of basic options and a rotating cast of creative flavors. Folks behind the counter are always kind and accommodating. It’s become a special tradition and there’s even a great little playground right across the street.

I had the pleasure of trying Dottie's Donuts in Wissahickon, Philadelphia at a yelp event last night it is a fantastic vegan bakery that offers a wide variety of delicious treats. From classic donut flavors like chocolate glazed and powdered sugar to more unique options like matcha and lavender lemon, there is something for everyone at Dottie's. The donuts were very fresh and flavorful, with a perfect balance of sweetness and texture. I highly recommend Dottie's Donuts to anyone looking for a tasty vegan treat in Philadelphia. Whether you're a long-time vegan or just looking to try something new, I am personally not vegan however I found the chocolate pistachio donuts to be out of this world and actually didn't realize at first that it was vegan. You won't be disappointed by the selection and quality at Dottie's.

I absolutely love Dottie’s Donuts in South Philly! Even though they’re not the closest location to me, they are always my go-to. I usually order through Grubhub, but I like to call ahead first to see what’s available for the day and the staff never disappoints. They’re consistently kind, helpful, and always happy to give great recommendations. The donuts are fresh, creative, and absolutely delicious every single time. You can tell they really care about the quality and customer experience. The team here is truly one of a kind, and they’re a big part of why I keep coming back. Highly recommend!

Very happy to have found this excellent vegan donut shop not far from home. Their donuts taste fresh and fluffy with just the right amount of sweetness. We 've sampled the classic chocolate and vanilla flavors as well as more exotic (but equally delcious) macha, blueberry glazed and lemon poppyseed varieties. Highly recommend their cinnamon buns if they're in. They also make an amazing fudgy brownie. Insiders know you have to ask for it because quantities are limited. On some days, they also sell vegan bagels made by another bakery. Love that they use recyclable pizza boxes as their donut boxes. There are a few seats for eaing in, plus hot and cold beverage selections for purchase. Come early because they close daily when they run out.

I’m not vegan but I enjoy stopping by Dottie’s Donuts! It doesn’t matter what time of day. The glazed donut is always soft and fresh! I can’t wait to go back and try their other donut options and specialty baked goods. A must-try spot!

I want to write a lot because I want the review bots to pick this up, but it's quite simple, really: Dottie's is my favorite joint in Philly. If you get a chance to get a dunkaroos donut, do it! If you're just passing through Philly, stop here to grab some. The staff is always nice and I've never had a bad donut there. I go every Saturday!

Got their Chocolate Pistachio and Matcha Oreo donuts today - best way to eat these is bring them home and warm them up in the microwave for 15 seconds. I always miss the best flavors - one day I hope to try their rose pistachio and something with coconut.

Vegan, Fresh & Delicious! I had an appointment in the area and was excited to finally visit this establishment. Caleb was very kind and answered a few questions for me. My now adult daughter was born with severe food allergies. Establishments like this did not exist two decades ago. Other than those donuts that have a nut topping; the donuts here are nut free. Not made with a nut based flour. Not everyone that eats vegan food can eat nuts. I am not really a sweets person, however if I have a taste for a donut this is definitely a go to for me. My vanilla glazed donut did not taste "Vegan". It was delicious to the point that I could not believe it was Vegan. I gave the apple fritter and cold brew to my son.

Vegan or no vegan, these donuts are good. Moist and way better than Dunkin's Donuts. I happen to past this place on the way to 6th street and since I used to be vegan, it wasn't out of the ordinary for me to return back to my old lifestyle. Vegan food is still food at the end of the day. I was also having a slight sweet tooth too. I came in around 2p and there was no line. A small little donut shop. Literally, I was in and out in 2 minutes. They had a good selection of donuts. Ultimately, I opted for lemon poppy. It was the right amount of lemon flavor. I almost got the matcha one since I'm a huge fan but passed on that one. It was after 2 and I can be a little sensitive to caffeine l. By the time I got to the restaurant I was initially headed too, I wanted to turn around and get another because it was so good but they closed at 3pm sadly. Definitely gonna come back if I'm ever back in Philly!

We only came here for the Dwayne The Rock Johnson donut during mania weekend. Whoever worked here was not a wrestling fan but was super cool about talking about the storyline as well as crazy tourists filling the city. Gotta come here again!

I popped in to get the Dubai Chocolate donut after all the hype around Dubai chocolate. The space is fairly empty with a small display case at the front next to the cashier. The display case is not reflective of all the donuts they have (idk why I thought it was because it is small) The donut itself was fine. To me the chocolate glaze overwhelmed any other flavor that was there. It genuinely tasted like a chocolate donut. It looks like they took a chocolate donut, cut it in half, added filling and topping. I tried the filling separately and it didn't taste like much. No pistachio flavor came through which was disappointing for me. An ok donut, not sure it was enough to make me want to make a trip back. Maybe I'll pop in if I happen to be near a store

My husband picked us up donuts and surprised me with great flavors! Favorites were the blueberry cannoli and the toasted coconut. Didn't realize this place was vegan until I went to do the review! Glazed was a bit on the dry side maybe because it was pretty plain. Would go back!

First time at this location after being a frequent servicer of their West Philly location. Location: Cute, smaller, but with several seating options for those looking to sign in. Service: No complaints! Coffee station had the fixings plus oat milk for free use. Food: Went with a chocolate pistachio donut that truly did not taste "vegan" at all. Wish there was a stronger pistachio flavor to it but overall a highly satisfactory bite. Would revisit any time I'm back in Philly & eager to try their other rotating flavors and/or non-donut pastries.

Loved the Pumpkin Chai donut! It's the perfect fall treat without being too oily or sweet. I was surprised by the texture, as it was super soft almost like a milk bread loaf. The Boston Cream donut was also a pleasant surprise - I anticipated the cream to be really sweet, but it was actually the perfect level of sweetness that complemented the chocolate frosting.

Cute little donut shop that replaced beehive (I'm pretty sure) They had a variety of donuts on display, ranging from rose water strawberry to pistachio. I ordered a few donuts! I tried the strawberry rose water, smores, glazed, and pistachio. They were soft and chewy (always a plus) but the icing was melty on a 65 degree day :( kinda upsetting because it was really messy and sticky. I ate it right when I got to my car and expected it to be a little bit more ...less sticky and melty!!! The consistency seemed more like a liquid glaze than a normal icing in a donut. Flavors were there, but a little too sweet in my opinion!

The person that was working didn't have much high energy. I do believe the person serving your food should have a great personality while on the job. He was bland, dry, just not inviting. Wasn't rude but just not personable in any way. I got chocolate pistachio and the strawberry crumb donut. Nothing to rave about. My expectations were high and I was definitely let down. Don't think I'd return.

Solid, for a vegan spot! The classic glazed was very good and we did like the apple fritter and Oreo. Cinnamon sugar was a little plain/ dry. Pricing is reasonable. Would recommend going early for the best selection! Gentleman behind counter was very nice - cute shop.

FOOD I've visited Dottie's a couple of times now, and it definitely hits the spot when you're craving a good, unique donut. The first time, I came in just after opening and was surprised how delicious the donuts were. I usually don't find vegan alternatives to be very appetizing, but these hit the spot. They were on par with Beiler's Donuts, fluffy, and not too sweet. I ordered the cinnamon bun and the greased pole (matcha dipped vanilla iced donut). Both were delicious, with the greased pole with the perfect amount of sweetness and interior consistency. The cinnamon bun had caramelized at the base, which was absolutely scrumptious, though I will say the icing can be a bit much if you eat the whole thing in one sitting. Since then, I've tried the Thai tea vanilla glazed donut and their popular Dunkaroos vanilla cream-filled donut. The Thai tea flavor wasn't really present for its titular flavor so I was disappointed there, but the Dunkaroos really hit the mark for what it was going for. It's a great specialty item to try once but it's not something I would seek to order again just since I'm not very drawn to the flavor. SERVICE The staff was friendly, and I have no complaints. AMBIANCE There's a couple seats inside the store, but it's more of a grab and go sort of place. If staying inside, it's a cozy spot to catch up with a friend. PARKING Paid street parking is available at a limited capacity.

On my second day in Philly, I treated myself to a breakfast fit for champions: vegan donuts! Facing the delightful dilemma of choice, I ordered two tempting treats. The first, an Apple Fritter ($4.25), was delightful and delectable. Fresh, flavorful, and generously iced, it boasted hints of cinnamon and hearty chunks of apples. The size was impressive, nearly tempting me to devour it in two sittings, but I resisted the decoy. The second choice was the Staff's Choice Matcha Pistachio donut ($2.50). Though the donut itself was enjoyable, the pistachio flavor took a backseat to the dominating matcha. While the taste wasn't precisely what I expected, the donut was still a tasty indulgence. The overall experience left me eager to return during my next trip to Philly. For vegan donuts these were delicious. There were about 10 different flavors to choose from. I opted for the Boston cream, sweet potato and cinnamon sugar. The cinnamon sugar was my least favorite, but still good. Really enjoyed the sweet potato donut. Overall, a cute little donut shop with yummy tasting donuts .

The best donuts in Philly are vegan ones! I bought the much lauded Boston Cream as well as today's Chef Liz Special, a pistachio fluff-blueberry cookie dough donut with marshmallow fluff glaze, salted pistachios and a scoop of blueberry cookie dough. Both were outstanding. It's amazing that they made the custard filling feel and taste like custard! The winner of these two delights was the pistachio fluff-blueberry cookie dough. As if the pistachio dusted fluff glaze donut wasn't already delicious enough, the center was jammed with a Munchkin hole sized blueberry flavored cookie dough to make this dessert over the top great! I like cake style donuts, but the lightness of these non-cake donuts (Dottie's also sells cake style donuts) makes them a treat to eat. I know many donut experts will continue to tout the other donut boutique that begins with "Fed*" but please give this place a try if you haven't already. These will change your mind.

I had this place bookmarked prior to visiting Philly mainly because I have read such raving reviews of this vegan donut place. The instagram pictures looked very tempting and we were here on our 1st morning in Philly. There was a line outside the place, altogether there were some 10 people waiting in line ahead of us. There was just one employee serving and she was very friendly and helped us choose the flavors. I didn't find majority of the donuts I found from the yelp reviews there may be because they change the flavors often. Except for Boston cream (my favorite donut), rest of the options were just normal regular stuffs, nothing fancy. We were so excited and got 7 donuts. It costed much more expensive than my local donut place in CT. That's fine but it tasted so weird we felt like we were eating plain bagel with powdered sugar. In the Boston cream donut, the cream was so runny that it was flowing all over. Overall, this is the most terrible donut I ever had. In Connecticut, we have a donut's place where we get heavenly vegan donuts. This place doesn't come remotely close to that. I am all in for supporting vegan places - but it should taste good too! We walked so much to get here and ended up wasting so much, hence it was a disappointing experience. I don't understand how people rated this place so high.

Vegan donuts. I'm not a vegan but I still enjoyed these. I'd say this is really a 3.5 star but I round up. The location is essentially take out only because there's not true place to stand and enjoy your treat inside. I tried the matcha pistachio (yeasted) and brown sugar rosemary (cake donut). Both were good, they don't taste like non-vegan donuts, but they're not really that far off such that you'd miss the non-veganness. The flavors were inventive and they had multiple types of donuts.

Dottie's Donuts is a pretty solid donut shop, but it's nothing to rave about imo. My girlfriend ordered a strawberry mango donut to try out for ~$2.50. I don't think it is worth it, but the donut was not that bad. The flavor didn't taste that good, but the donut itself was a classic, glazed, raised donut you would expect from a grocery store (a tad bit better than the grocery store). Just another donut shop you can stop by and grab a quick bite!

All donuts are between $2-$3 and the flavors change up daily. There are always the standard go-to's like cinnamon sugar and glazed. I went for a season apple cider glazed donut that was very delicious. They also have a good variety of drinks, bagels, homemade cream cheeses, etc. I'll have to admit I was a little hesitant about a vegan donut, but they were delicious! The guy behind the counter was really friendly and chatty (even welcomed me to the neighborhood)! I will definitely be back when I need a sugar fix!

Love this place for not only the delicious donuts but for the creativity that goes into the donuts as well! Came here on a Saturday, ended up getting iced coffee and a few donuts. There's limited seating but when I got there, no one else was sitting down. I started with a cookie butter and the blueberry maple cornbread donut. Both delicious. These donuts seem less oily than places like federal donuts, which I really like. They are more cakey. After nooshing down these donuts I got a third, chocolate pistachio. It was good but not my favorite. I'll definitely be back - want to try the dunkaroo donut at some point.

Ambiance and customer service not up to par. I thought I was in "Holy Moly Donuts" from Friday After Next movie. Yesterday was my first time ever trying vegan donuts so I came in super bubbly and the guy in there was very dry greeting me & creepy. He gave off racists vibes. Take your food to go! Not to mention the horrible music playing. Nonetheless! The donuts I tried, Chocolate Oreo, Caramel Delight & Classic Glaze were good.. they definitely were not fresh though. Do better. And smile next time I walk in there!

Just idk what else to say as there's not much past saying the donuts are absolutely amazing and you should definitely try them. I always get at least a plain glazed plus some other flavor in order to judge on the same standards and both the ones I got were great. I wasn't even aware they were vegan until I returned and was discussing with friends and they let me know. Additionally the coffee is solid. Highly recommend

My oh my. These are my some of my FAVORITE donuts in Philly. Whether you're vegan or not, this is a fantastic option to stop by to get some yummy treats. My favorites are their Thai Tea, Dunkaroos, yes, DUNKAROOS, and Boston Cream. All their donuts are 100% vegan. If you're one of those people who get weirded out by vegan stuff, I assure you, if you tried these you would never know they're vegan. They come in nice sturdy "pizza" boxes for easy carrying. They've adapted well to COVID. Pick up orders at the door that's blocked by their table & donut display. I recommend following them on Instagram, they post their flavors there. The best flavors sell out quick! Don't sleep on these.

The size of donut is pretty big. The texture is like regular donut. It's very moist and fresh. I can taste the nutmeg in it. I was disappointed for not getting the cookie butter kind. Coconut caramel is decent. Not much caramel. Boston cream is good, the cream filling isn't too sweet and it's smooth but not too much. The chocolate icing isn't overly sweet either. Overall it's a good vegan donuts that taste like regular kind. You won't expect it's vegan based on the taste. They have muffins, scones, fritters, donut holes, and cinnamon rolls

I'm not usually interested in vegan food but I LOVE Dotties. I stopped by today to try their new pumpkin cheesecake flavor. It was delicious! The filling had the perfect consistency and wasn't overly sweet. It had just the right balance of spices. I'm also a fan of their Boston cream donut which didn't disappoint although the filling could have been a bit thicker (in fairness this may have had something to do with carrying it home on a 90 degree day). Dottie's is such a special treat and I love that they are always innovating and changing their flavors. Their team is friendly, patient and kind to patrons which enhances the experience.

It killlls me that I spent 3+ years on the hunt for the perfect donut in Philly, continuously overlooking Dottie's because I thought, 'meh, vegan donuts'. From the smaller mom & pop shops to the larger chains, Dottie's makes by far the best donuts I've tried in Philly. First of all, I would have zero clue that these are vegan donuts based on how they look and taste. The texture is light and fluffy and their unique rotation of flavors is on the very short list of things that get me out of bed early on a weekend morning. Their filled donuts are perfection, never too sweet or full of goop. Not to mention the super cute octagonal shape?!? They do typically sell out of the popular ones early, so I usually try to get there in the morning/early afternoonish if there's a flavor I particularly want. One thing to note is that these are best when eaten fresh, so if you grab a bunch, make sure you have lots of hungry people ready to help you eat them (or just have yourself a lil donut buffet). Their page says they do not deliver, but last I checked they were on Caviar for delivery. They also sell their donuts at Elixr locations!!

Can't make a trip down to Philly without stopping here! We found this place last year while in town for the marathon and like the first time, stopped by Dottie's on the first and last day in town. Would totally recommend to EVERYONE! Not just vegans. Go with a friend or two and order a few to share. I promise you won't regret it!

I followed my bliss after a yoga class at nearby Tuck and found my way here. First off, the staff are so incredibly nice. Second, the donuts are perfect. I often don't go for donuts because they are often too sweet for my tastes, but these are just so perfectly balanced, and I've loved everything I've tried. Extra handy that they are all vegan when I am with vegan friends (and it makes absolutely no difference to how they taste - vegan or not, you will love them). Highly recommended!

I was walking to get groceries one afternoon and stumbled upon Dottie's Donuts--it's tucked away along a row of brick homes, and is a cute, small store. I'm new to Philly and am trying to (safely) explore, and am sooo delighted to now have a favorite vegan donut store (and donut store in general) honestly, I'd have no idea these were vegan! They were absolutely delicious and a perfect treat! Ordering was contactless and fast, and the woman who helped recommend a few favorite varieties was so kind! Here's what I got (with thanks to her rec!) (Clearly, I love blueberries): -blueberry and lemon: a beautiful bright lilac pink frosting, with lemon zest/sugar(?) sprinkled on top. the dough was so fluffy and a little cake-like, and the blueberry flavor was beautiful. tastes amaaaaazing microwaved! -blueberry jam filled with maple glaze: oh my goodness I'd buy bottles of the jam! so light and floral almost, and perfectly sweet. the maple was such an interesting complement to the jam as well! Delightful donuts! The pricing is reasonable and the donuts are so creative (I honestly like these better than normal donuts!) I'll look forward to visiting again :)

Dottie's donuts are so soft and fluffy. I tried the Espresso Whoopie pie donut. I went on a Saturday at noon and there only two in front of me in line. Parking is on the street and can be hard if it's during a busy time of the day. The donut: 4/5 The drip coffee: 2/5 Lastly, they are vegan!

I think I might be the new #1 fan of Dottie's Donuts. I am so thoroughly impressed by this wonderful donut shop. My husband and I ordered from Dottie's the past three days in a row via Uber Eats (only because we don't have means of transportation while we're visiting the city, normally I would've loved to go into the shop). Each day we got to enjoy these perfectly crafted pillows of deliciousness. I was never much of a donut person before transitioning to being vegan. Since I've found Dottie's, I'm truly transformed. I will be back soon, just so I can stuff my face with these amazing donuts. RUN OVER TO DOTTIE'S. Worth every calorie.

Love this place! Only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is bc of the hours. I often want to bring a large order of donuts to work but they aren't open until 9am. 8:30 would would be a great compromise!

One of the best donuts I've ever had! I've been wanting to try Dottie's for so long and once I finally did I knew what all of the hype was about. I'm not vegan but you wouldn't even know that the donuts are vegan! I love all of the specialty flavors my favorites so far have been the chocolate Oreo and strawberry hibiscus. Along with donuts, their brownies and fritters are delicious!

Dottie's donuts is one of the best places to get vegan donuts in the city. They have a set of standard donuts and a few deluxe donuts. Their donuts are good, but it's important to note you will not get hot donuts here since they are baked at their Springfield location (this one is very small and doesn't have the capacity). My all time favorite item here is the Cosmic Brownie (scandalous not a donut), and it's a steal at $2.75. There is a walk up window and contactless pay which makes it easy and safe to order. Also they have three methods of payment: Cc, Apple Pay, and google pay. On the day I went the standard donuts were: Vanilla glazed Cinnamon sugar Sprinkled donut (called the Homer Simpson) Chocolate frosted The deluxe flavors were: Double chocolate Cold brew chocolate cookie Raspberry vanilla Boston cream Toasted coconut And they have a few non-donut items: Cinnamon bun Apple fritter Cosmic brownie.

Cute little vegan donut shop in philly near south street! Pretty standard/ basic flavors like chocolate glaze etc. Normal size donuts (like Dunkin donut size). Got the chocolate pistachio which was really tasty! Nice chewy dough. I enjoyed it. Nothing to complain about but I think that now with the rise of veganism, I've had better vegan donuts in other states (like NYC and on the west coast). They also have coffee drinks that I did not try. Not much seating. Best to grab your donut and joe to go! Great for a vegan sweet treat!

Dotties is my go to donut place! I love the variety and checking Instagram for the specialty donuts. They are not greasy (vegan) and they have a lot of flavor but are not overly sweet. Also the Apple fritter and brownie are AMAZING, especially if you warm them up a little when you get home.

I've been waiting to go to Dotties for three years and finally went this morning! They finally didn't run out this time , this place has cute atmosphere that is just a take out only. The service is super quick and everything is sooooo good. As good as a grandma would make home made deserts. They are a little pricey ($27 for a dozen) but well worth it for a birthday treat or a treat yo-self day!! My favorite is any deluxe flavor and make sure you get a coffee too!

The donuts are good, don't get me wrong. However, after walking 40 minutes to get here I was told there's no public restroom. A bit weird for a cafè. The peRson working the counter was so rude about the whole thing and I ended up having to walk 10 minutes to Whole Foods just to pee. That whole thing really ruined the experience.
