Mama Kitchen Korean is such a great spot! I love the cozy, casual atmosphere and how friendly the staff is. It’s self-service, which makes everything quick and easy. The food is delicious, portions are satisfying, and the prices are very reasonable. Definitely a go-to place in Frisco for good Korean food. Highly recommend! 😊

this place is the real deal! got their soondubu with beef and got it spicy and i love that they cut up a whole jalapeño and put it in the soup. it was savory and spicy and on par with some of the soondubus i’ve had in korea. the owners and workers there were really sweet and made sure i knew where all the utensils were and how to order at the kiosk. sooooo tasty

Tried the spicy stir-fried squid, soft tofu soup, and tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes with fish cakes & veggies). Everything was flavorful and freshly made. The restaurant has a cafeteria-style setup, so it’s self-serve—simple, quick, and good. Great spot if you’re looking for straightforward Korean comfort food in Frisco.

Every time I order delivery it arrives piping hot and my kimchi stew is unspilled (thanks to the very thoughtful packaging). My egg was still runny when it arrived! The food here is delicious- definitely recommend.

While the food was okay — nothing memorable but not terrible either — the service left much to be desired. The staff was kind and polite, but it was clear they weren’t prepared for the lunch's flow. We had to ask multiple times for updates on our appetizers, which ended up arriving after we had already finished the main course. That kind of misstep is hard to overlook, especially when you're trying to enjoy a meal in peace. The atmosphere didn't help much either. There's a constant hum of loud white noise, which makes it hard to hold a conversation or relax. For the prices they charge, I expected a more polished experience overall. In short, Mama's Kitchen might work for a quick meal or take out if you're nearby, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for attentive service or a calm dining environment. Hopefully, they can work out these kinks in the future.

This is THE spot! My go-to is the soondubu/spicy pork combo. Wish the spicy pork was more spicy but otherwise it’s delicious. Every time I visit, it’s like going to my Korean friend’s house for family dinner. The atmosphere is welcoming and the ladies there literally are like a couple of neighborhood mamas! Highly recommend.

Back again for more goodness at Mamas! Stumbled onto Mamas Kitchen in Frisco while looking for a burger place. I'm so glad I tried it! All authentic food cooked fresh for you. And the service was amazing also. They even came to the table and mixed our dishes properly for us. Definitely going back soon. The glass noodle appetizer is fantastic!!!

Cool Korean restaurant in Frisco. I generally feel Korean food to be on the pricier side, but the combos here are decent value. We got a LA Galbi combo with Soon Tofu soup and a Bulgolgi combo with Kimchi soup. The LA Galbi was delicious, some of the best I've had. It was fatty and had a smoky melt in your mouth texture. The Soon Tofu soup was also good. The Bulgolgi wasn't as good but still had a nice smoky flavor. It was a bit dry. The kimchi soup is kimchi tomato soup not kimchi jigae. So it was unexpectedly sweet. The sides were fine. The fish cake and watercress we liked a lot more.

I am a korean american whose mom cooked authentic korean food for 25 years of my life. I give this place 4 stars for food and 5 stars for convenience: 4.5/5 overall experience. Got the spicy pork and soybean combo, steamed dumplings, steamed egg, and my gf got soft tofu stew. Both stews: 9.8/10, tasted authentic, they were great and really hit the spot. Steamed dumplings: 8/10, good overall. I liked the wrapper, decent amount of filling. Spicy pork: 7/10, pretty good flavor, but ive definitely had better. Steamed egg: 7/10, couldve used a tad more salt for me, but I like my foods a bit saltier. Convenience: 10/10, we went saturday at 6pm, restaurant was basically empty. Ordered on kiosk and food came out within 7-10 minutes. Will definitely be back.

Nice Korean restaurant up in north Frisco! Prices are slightly higher than other comparable places, but it's a great option if you're in the area. You can order in person or through the self service machine. Food comes out quickly and there is plenty of seating. Big fan of their seafood pancake (probably get it every time). Their galbi tang, dumpling soup, and variety of side dishes make for a great meal. Hopefully more people find this place!

Ordered take out from this spot since I was sick. Everything we got tasted so good even when I barely had an appetite. We will be back to dine in and try out their other dishes

great dinner here! tried the yukgaejang, japchae, fried dumplings, bulgogi beef plate and all were delicious. the best was the yukgaejang soup - very flavorful broth and the brisket and veggies were nice and tender, bulgogi beef was a tad bit dry but large portion, would like to also try the pork and galbi. japchae 10/10, would order that over the fried dumplings as an appetizer next time. banchan was yummy too - not my fav kimchi but loved the bean sprouts, fish cake, and potato. also the sweetest staff!

LOVE this restaurant the Galbi short ribs are to die for! My ULTIMATE HUNGOVER CURE SOUP IS SPICY BEEF TOFU STEW!!!!!!! Finger-licking good! Also the beef bulgogi is amazing seasoned to the T! The pork belly bulgogi is FIRE has a lil kick to it if you like a bit spicy it's to try the dumplings are soo delicious!!! The food served looked good, tasted great, ate it all and realized that i forgot to take the pictures. Had Grilled Mackerel combo with Soy soup (fish broth). If you are vegetarian, they have amazing glass noodles with vegetables, kimchi pancakes. They are known for their steamed and fried dumpling appetizer which is quite a steal. Have passed this place so many times and glad we finally stopped to try it. Authentic and feels like your mamas house and food. Good amount and tasty banchan served with all foods, we got the spicy squid and pork bulgolgi which also came with two rice, it was more than enough for me and my husband. It came out on the little stove so it had to cook for about 7 minutes but it makes it fresh and easy to eat, just be careful burning yourself! Dining area is large with lots of space and could definitely fit a large group

I absolutely love the food here ! Fresh and delicious! The staff is amazing and your food always comes out piping hot and aromatic . My favorite thing to Oder is the Yukgaejang soup .

I have ordered delivery on ubereats/doordash and dined in before. Every single time, food is delicious and tastes all homemade. Everytime I get to-go or delivery, everything is so neatly packaged and organized. I love that they always pack banchan with the entrees. It is a little pricey but this is definitely the BEST Korean food in the Frisco area. Saves me a trip to driving to Carrollton. Inside the restaurant it's casual and efficient, nothing fancy. There is a self serve kiosk or you can order with a person. My go-to is the LA galbi (short ribs) and the jumbo kimchi and pork dumplings (which remind me of my travels to South Korea) they are SO good!

Would eat here again, but nothing *really* stood out to me here. What we got: Kimchi pancake, japchae (we felt this dish was more quantity over quality. Japchae is typically a sticky dish, but we thought it was one solid mushy piece), galbi combo which came with a side of soondubu, and pork bulgogi combo which came with a side of kimchi soup - $91.79. Everything we ordered met our bare minimum expectation of Korean food, but nothing was mind blowing. Korean food is great because of all the banchan and side orders of rice, but with their prices, I was hoping for more. I get the economy is sht right now, but I think each dish was a bit overpriced. Our 8 pieces of galbi and side soondubu cost $30 alone. Environment & service: Choose where you want to sit, order at a kiosk, and they bring the food to you. Though your interaction is extremely limited with the workers, they are very nice and still create a clean and welcoming environment. Maybe 10 full parties on a Saturday around 1:30pm.

We came in starving on Sunday lunch excited to explore the neighborhood and Mama's kitchen did not disappoint! The food was flavorful and comforting. The service was quick and friendly! Highly recommend

This place is authentic korean food for sure. I mean, food did not taste like shortcut stuff you get in some name restaurants in Carrolton.... the restaurant is kind of self-serve modern atmosphere. Found the owner working here- which means it's taken care of personally.... The restaurant is clean, food is very good, and healthy. It's what I would come again, for those reasons.

ORDER] LA Galbi Combo with Soondae Soup - The LA Galbi was chewy and had good flavor. It was hot to the touch and the onions around cooking in the sauce were super tasty. The tofu soup was a 7/10. It comes with soft tofu, clams, and squid. Side dishes - The kimchi was not as fermented as should be but other than that, everything was all good from the perspective of the side dishes. Overall, the food is pretty on the expensive side, but the flavors are great and the experience eating lunch there was really good! VIBES The place is super spacious. You can sit anywhere. Be sure to order up fronts and then seat yourself. Lots of seating around and many different chairs. There is also higher seating and long table seating as well. SERVICE Not much to say on service other than they were pretty fast with the food and polite with any questions asked.

What a hidden gem tucked inside a strip mall that's not visible from the street. You'll never know that there is an amazing Korean restaurant just by passing by. I love mamas kitchen as the taste and cooking is just authentic. No hidden msg or overly salty. The kitchen staff are confident in their cooking. Everything is self service from ordering, getting your own drinks and utensils. But once seated they bring out the side dishes and your food fairly quickly. The other bonus is that I can come here with a large party and do not need reservation. No surcharge for large parties and plenty of tables and room to accommodate large parties of 10 and more. One of my favorite Korean restaurant!

One of the few Korean food spots up north that just opened! We came here for lunch on a Friday and it wasn't very busy at all. You order and pay yourself from a kiosk and they bring out your food to you. Banchan (side dishes) were pretty good and decent portions (except we had to ask for another serving of kimchi since it wasn't enough for two people). I ordered the Bulgogi Hotpot since it sounded interesting and hubby ordered the kalbi tang with a side of steamed dumplings. The bulgogi hotpot was tasty, the soup/broth tasted very much like bulgogi and there were pieces of rice cake and some vermicelli noodles in there along with an egg. It wasn't really like a soup so I didn't really drink much of the broth, i just ate everything as is or they also give you a bowl of rice you can eat it with. The kalbi tang seemed like it lacked flavor to me but it could have been because my dish was so flavorful? Hubby said the flavor of his kalbi tang was ok but nothing spectacular. The dumplings were good and big and they give you a good amount along with dipping sauce. Overall it seems like a nice Korean cafe to go to for lunch without having to drive to Carrollton. I would give it another go and order something different next time since they have a pretty decent sized menu.

Bumping this up to a 5 star. Good food and everything was excellent quality the last couple times we went. Particular shout out to the Korean army stew.

Friendly staff and great food! I'm not Korean, so the staff is very helpful. Today is cold and I felt like some sort of spicy soup with meat. They suggested either the Spicy Brisket soup or the Spicy Pork Stew (that is pretty soupy). I went with the pork stew and it was delicious. I'll be back.

The service was good but the food was ok for the price you pay pretty much everywhere else but other places the food quality seems a bit higher. The meat and tofu soup wasn't all that great for over $30. Other authentic Korean restaurants charges about that price and their food quality and taste is waitresses the price. It's spacious and can hold a lot of guest but can use some work. Some area seems like storage which isn't very appealing.

Dined here for the first time tonight and we enjoyed our meal - and will likely return! It's nice to finally have a good Korean place in Frisco that isn't KBBQ or AYCE This place reminded me a lot of BCD House but less options and much closer! We ordered the bulgogi entree, galbi combo with soontofu, japchae and steamed egg. Their soontofu was so flavorful and the tofu, wow, literally silkier than some of the other places I've had soontofu at. Service was great; they came around and checked on us a few times. Ordering was easy and the food came out in an orderly time. We'll be back!

Overall, a good Korean restaurant in Frisco. Flavors are spot on for the most part and I would return. There were a couple of things that were confusing to me. Read on if you are interested. You order at the counter using the tablet. Only one of the two were working, so that resulted in a bit of a line at times. At the end of the order, you are asked how you want your receipt and we selected the print option but nothing printed out except the ticket for the kitchen. I also had a 10% off offer from checking in on Yelp and I could not figure out how to redeem that. After you order, your name is called out and they ask you where you are sitting. I feel like there has to be a more efficient way to manage this, but maybe they will figure it out over time. The food took a while to come out, which was not an issue for us and I guess if anything, it might mean dishes are made to order, but plan for this if you are super hungry. The seafood pancake was my favorite. It had a good amount of squid and shrimp, and I loved the imitation crab in it in very thin bits. The sauce was perfect for the dish. The dumplings were clearly house made and pretty good. I would have loved for the filling to be a bit more cohesive? with maybe more of a binder, but no points lost here. For my main, I was going to order seolleongtang but I saw the gamjatang and made a last minute switch. Unfortunately, what I received was not what I consider gamjatang. It tasted like kimchi jjigae with a few things added to it. It did have a good amount of meat and it was a delicious kimchi jjigae. It's just not what I thought I was ordering. Maybe it's a regional difference? M ordered the baby octopus bibimbap and he said it was ok. I tried a spoonful and I agree with him. He did enjoy the seaweed soup quite a bit (I love that they do seaweed soup and not like miso to be more palatable to folks less familiar with Korean food). They should offer this as a standalone menu item. ;) Our friends ordered a pork bulgogi combo with soondubu and yukgaejang. I think of all the mains, the combo was probably my favorite. The yukgaejang was good and it was great to see gosari in it, but I have just personally never loved yukgaejang. Maybe it's because it's never served piping hot, which is how I prefer my soups. All in all, flavors were spot on (except for my gamjatang confusion) and I would go back when in the area. I would definitely order the seafood pancake again and maybe try the seolleongtang or get a combo.

Nice Korean Food addition to Frisco! When entering you order at the front, I love that you can order on the kiosk then grab a table number and head to your table. Service was fast and efficient, they refilled my side dishes which was nice. The beef bulgogi was very tasty and the soon tofu has very soft tofu. Japchae noodles were a little hard for my liking, but the seafood pancake was nice and crispy. Love that we have a Korean restaurant in Frisco without needing to drive to Carrollton :)

Today is July 4th. No where were the closing hours listed that they were closing early. However we were rudely "pushed" out at 830pm when their hours clearly listed closed at 9pm. It was just the way it happened because we were finishing up feeding a young child in our party. Had they just mentioned, hey it's a holiday we are going to close early we would have understood. But instead based on how it transpired, they lost a few customers that won't ever go back.

WHAT A GREAT FIRST VISIT!! Highly recommend this place! My mom and I visited Mama's Korean Kitchen today for lunch! We've been eyeing this spot for a while now and finally got time to visit. I was very impressed with the wide range of the menu--it's very balanced variety of apps, stews, mains, etc! They also have a great selection of Korean drinks and regular canned drinks. It's BYOB too! You order at the front, and then to the left are your utensils, water cups, and napkins! The ambiance was casual, and we really liked the homey and traditional Korean setting of the place. We sat down, and the ladies started bringing our rice and banchan. Majority were ones we don't usually get at other places, but we LOVED it! The banchan were flavorful, and the kimchi was perfect! We then got our combos. I got a bulgogi and soontofu combo. My mom got the LA Galbi and soontofu combo. IT WAS LOVE AT FIRST BITE FOR US!! We've been searching for the perfect soontofu in DFW, and this was it for us. The soontofu was abundant in tofu and seafood. THEY DON'T SKIMP OUT! The marinade for our meats were also just right--not too sweet or unbalanced. When we go to restaurants that specialize in sundubu, I usually don't finish my soup and have to take it home. However, I DEVOURED mine! My mom (who doesn't eat much rice) even got 2 rice bowls!! THEIR FOOD WAS THAT DELICIOUS! We also got great service from miss Kelly and the young lady who took our order. They consistently checked up on us! Kelly had such a wonderful and bright aura. It was lovely talking to her! Thank you ladies! We're so thankful we don't have to drive all the way to Carrollton now. Mama's Korean Kitchen hits the spot, and we can't wait to become regulars! My husband found this place on Yelp and glad we stopped in to have lunch. Staff were super friendly and they even have warm roasted corn tea. Kelly Cho brought us our banchan and food and she was very friendly and helpful. The food tasted fantastic. We got the combo meal and enough for two people to share. The food tasted amazing and service was excellent. We will definitely be back!

Had a great experience at Mama's in west Frisco. First of all, it's great to finally have a homestyle Korean restaurant in Frisco that is actually comparable to the ones in Carrollton. You order and pay at the kiosk and get your own water to begin. Then, they bring out the banchan and complimentary seaweed soup. We were really satisfied with everything we ordered. Stone bowl bibimbap came out piping hot and stayed tasty way, crisping up the river in the process. Bulgogi hotpot had a great flavor on the sweeter end but pairs well with rice. Steamed egg was solid as well. Overall, pleasantly surprised at the quality and the prices considering it's in Frisco.

Finally got a chance to go visit Mamas Kitchen Korean restaurant with friends! I ordered Yukgaejang and it was really good! Close to what I got in Korea and the side dishes were all good as well. Seemed like my friends also liked their dishes. I would def come back with my husband to try one more time. I did wish to see more banchans for sale but didn't really see them. Maybe I went too early. You order at the counter and sit down and they will bring the food out to you. If you want banchan refilled it's faster if you go up to the counter and ask for it. Not super friendly but they were friendly enough. I think they are still new so they're still figuring things out but overall I'm satisfied!

Wah! Grab your family and RUN to Mama's for some savory Korean eats. We happen to be nearby and stepped in unknowing what great eats were there! We got the baby octopus bibimbap and steamed egg! You get set of panchan (little pickled dishes) and they were so delicious we went back to the counter to buy some to take home. The octopus bibimbap is hot and comes in a stone bowl. The rice on bottom, just the right amount of gokugang... hmm it was a perfect bowl. So fresh. We just found our new go to! Yeah!

If you are looking for delicious, flavorful, authentic Korean food then this place is what you have been looking for! No more will I have to drive to Carrollton to get some decent Korean food! My hubby and I stopped here and couldn't have been more pleased. The dining area is large and works well for individuals, couples and larger groups. It was clean and well-maintained. The service was pretty good. The workers that we encountered were very friendly and tried to make our dining experience pleasant. They took the time to explain the menu and to make sure we had all of the items needed to enjoy our meal. The food was very delicious, it was perfectly seasoned, not too salty or too bland. It wasn't overly oily and had the right flavors. My husband ordered the beef bibimbap and he said it was pretty good. I ordered the kimchi stew and it was decent. I wish they sold the soft tofu stew, as it is my favorite dish, but I settled for this one and wasn't disappointed. They are currently in their soft opening so give them time to perfect things.

Appreciate the banchan refills, they are yummy . Teriyaki chicken was excellent , not the overly sweet type with brown sauce .. but very tender and yummy. Seafood tofu soup was good Steamed egg just meh. This place is popular , lots of traffic

I love Korean food. For two years of my young adult life I lived in an area of China with a large Korean minority and ate at the Korean restaurants regularly. In California and here in Texas I love having hot tofu soup, pork ribs, and so much more! At Mama's Kitchen I ordered the tofu soup; we also ordered dumplings and the buckwheat cold noodles. The Tofu soup has some kind of starch in it that sits in your mouth and leaves an aftertaste that was less than appetizing. Hundreds of bowls of tofu soup by this point in my life, and this one was the worst. Dumplings were mainly full of noodles and not thoughtfully fried. The buckwheat noodles were rather dull but was the best of the lot. I was so very disappointed.

Was excited to try this place since we were close by. Saw good reviews online so my expectation was high. I guess it works for Frisco due to limited selection for Korean food, but not something I'd trek over from another side of town. I thought the food ok. We ordered the seafood soondofu with galbi combo. The frozen seafood in the soup was a little funky and soup was not as flavorful as it looks. The galbi was good but I find galbi hard to mess up at restaurants. The mackerel had a lot of bones making it more difficult to eat, especially for feeding the children. The one thing I liked here is the sweet rice drink. It was refreshing.

This was our first time trying authentic Korean food and it was such a delight! Expect the ambiance of a family run establishment, better than fast food but nothing fancy. The food definitely lives up to the name, warm, comforting dishes made by someone's mom. We ordered the Japchae, kimchi pancakes, grilled salmon and teriyaki chicken. The Japchae was so refreshing and had such an interesting flavourful profile with the different elements of meat, veggies and the clear noodles. The kimchi pancakes were delightfully crispy, tangy and packed a punch with the sauce served on the side. They were so addicting and I polished them off quickly. The teriyaki chicken was a letdown, pretty mediocre and bland, almost as if the flavoring hadn't reached the chicken. The sauce with the grilled salmon really elevated it! Though it was still a little dry as well.

I ate there only once and ordered Yukgaejang soup. An important ingredient of the recipe is meat but there was very little meat in it, and it looked like a vegetarian food to me. I don't know about other food but one thing I can recommend is not to order Yukgaejang soup. Atmosphere was good and price was reasonable.

Super casual (in our often preferred way) and tasty Korean food. We've thoroughly enjoyed everything we've gotten there, e.g. bibimbap (bulgogi and octopus), seafood pancake, japchae, the banchan, tteokbokki, etc. It's become our go to spot for Korean food in north Dallas.

Authentic Korean food! We just left and the food was amazing. It was our first time so we kept it safe with a beef bulgogi-it came with rice, sides and a choice of soup. Great portions and exactly what we wanted. So happy to have a great Korean spot on the west of Frisco.

Met with a friend to catch up and decided we wanted some Korean food. Stumbled upon this place on the interweb and here we are! Food was surprisingly delicious and service was minimal but quick. It's more self serve the rest of the way but staff was so nice. The place was so big on the inside and you wouldn't have known by just looking on the outside. We ordered the bulgogi combo and galbi combo. Delicious meals, very filling. Definitely recommend and will be back. Till then, let's eat!!!

The food was just okay. I ordered the seafood pancake and the Bulgogi Sizzling Stone Pot Bimbimbap. The seafood pancake should be renamed to Octopus and imitation crab pancake which were the two proteins in the pancake. The Bulgogi Bimbimbap was standard - I wish the bulgogi was a little more flavorful. The service was good. The ambiance was spacious and comfortable - very casual.

This restaurant is exactly as the name implies. It's delicious, homemade Korean food run by a passionate mom and daughter duo. My mom is Korean and I took her to lunch here after reading some of the good reviews. Well, she loves it and we keep coming back for more! Our favorites are the bulgogi bibimbap and japchae. I'm usually stuffed by the end of the meal, so I take the leftovers back because they reheat great! I love the location on the west side of Frisco. So convenient to have a high-quality Korean place nearby. I wish them tons of continued succes!

I'm so stoked that we have an amazing Korean restaurant in Frisco! I believe they have weekly specials where some food items are a few dollars off. We had a seafood stew and the Army Stew. Both stews had plenty of protein, but I would have ordered another slab of ramen noodles to soak up all the goodness. This will be my go-to Korean restaurant going forward. Check this place out and keep the business going.

Finally made it to this new Korean restaurant in Frisco. Glad to have one that the food is actually good vs having to drive to Carrollton or Dallas all the time. The place is quite spacious and clean. You order on the kiosk up front. Was a bit disappointed that one of their items on the menu wasn't available, but hopefully (Jollmyun) will be next time. We ordered the galbi-tang (beef bone soup), yukejang, kimchi jigae and ttubokki. All four dishes were good. My galbi tang was flavorful and the broth was clean with plenty of meat. Ttubboki was good as well. I liked the small bite size ttuk (kind of like Auntie Ann's pretzel bites). Kimchi jigae and yukejang were tasty as well. They even had corn hot tea for warm water. Overall 5 stars. If you are in Frisco or Plano and you want some authentic Korean food, and yes I'm Korean, give this place a try.
