NYC’s Michelin-Starred Restaurants for 2023, Mapped | Eater NY

"The subterranean omakase spot that starts at $410 for dinner from Daniel Boulud and George Ruan has one star. There’s a $295 lunch menu, too." - Eater Staff

"Hidden away in a corner of Grand Central, at the base of the ritzy One Vanderbilt building, Jōji presents a disarming oasis of calm and sophistication amidst the hustle and bustle. The meal begins with small plates that blend Japanese flavors with seasonal elements, as in a sashimi of buri with green apple, ginger, and yuzu zest, followed by nigiri featuring a blend of Koshihikari and Nanatsuboshi rice, carefully vinegared to showcase the flavor of the fish. The variety of excellent seafood, largely sourced from Toyosu Market, is impressive, and even devoted sybarites will leave satisfied. Expect an abundance of luxury ingredients (and commensurate pricing), like a lightly cooked langoustine layered with creamy petals of uni, or a delicate, silky chawanmushi topped with golden Osetra." - Michelin Inspector

Holiday Specials at New York Restaurants and Hotels

"Celebrate the holiday season this year with omakase from One MICHELIN Star Jōji and sister takeaway/delivery sushi counter Jōji Box. Tucked inside Grand Central Terminal, Jōji Box offers high quality sushi to-go, featuring a selection of freshly made omakase, chirashi, combination boxes, and curated sushi flights. All options are available exclusively for pickup and delivery, with the most expensive box coming in at $59. Want a more traditional omakase experience instead? Then head on over to One MICHELIN Star Jōji, where curated experiences for each guest (returning guests are served a custom menu different from previous visits) and 90s hip-hop await." - Kevin Chau

The Best Restaurants in Midtown East

"Daniel Boulud and sushi master chef George Ruan, formerly of Masa, are behind this 18-seat omakase. The restaurant showcases seasonal ingredients along with sake and wine pairings; Ruan describes the food as weaving tradition with the unexpected. Past the pricey omakase, there’s the more affordable next-door Jōji Box, with options from $20 to $60." - Eater Staff

Grand Central Has a Massive, New 400-Seat Restaurant. Will Diners Go? | Eater NY

"I learned that Daniel Boulud and a Masa alum opened Jōji, a ‘secret’ omakase in an alcove of Grand Central in 2022, adding a discreet, high-end counter option within the terminal." - Emma Orlow
