Great food presentation (hand carver flower carrots ) and perfectly sized portions. The food was all fresh. Hot and made to order. The actual spice levels of the food were like one level below what you ordered. They offer catering services as well. Plenty of parking, nice atmosphere.

Delicious authentic food that you may not find in an average Thai restaurant in the Us. Good portion for decent price. The presentation of dishes is also beautiful. Not many ppl on a rainy Thursday evening. Will definitely be back to try more from the special menu and boat noodle soup. We two ordered 3 dishes and had leftover for 1 meal to go. Highly recommend their special menu, we had the following: 1. Pad Ka Pao w/ crispy pork belly, favorite dish, ordered spicy and is just right for us, pork is crispy with fresh basil scent, this dish just has the right amount of sweet, spicy and herb flavor with some crunchiness, it’s our favorite dish. 7. Tom Leng, which is a pork chop soup medium spicy, which is only a hint of spicy for us, this soup has sweet, sour, spicy and cilantro flavor. It’s a bit too sweet for me to drink the soup but the pork in it taste just right. Can be a little tricky to eat due to the bone. 13. Kao Soi Kai, egg noodle soup in red curry with chicken drumsticks and mung beans, tastes good and good amount of protein, we also like it though it doesn’t stand out in the dishes we ordered.

We ordered a total of 4 items and all of them were quite delicious! My favorite one was Hoi Tod - super crispy and flavorful and tasted even better with the sweet spicy sauce on the side. The beef steak in Crying Tiger was also very tender and not dry at all. Thai Fried Rice and Drunken Noodles were great too. I personally preferred the former; the latter was a little bit too sweet for me…I’d recommend to add some spiciness to ‘neutralize it 😂 (but it’s not bad at all) The staff was very friendly, the dining environment was also pretty nice and cozy. I was quite surprise that this restaurant was not full of customers when we came in, considering the food, service, and atmosphere were all top-tier. I’ll definitely come back again to try other items on the menu! 😋

The Chef is our go-to Thai restaurant in the Vancouver area. One main reason is their food is quite flavorful. We have tried other Thai restaurants and I have been disappointed with the lack of flavor there compared to this restaurant. Also, when requesting something specific or a modification to my order, it is always spot on. Another reason I love The Chef and will drive further to come here, even passing other Thai places on the way. The presentation of the food on the serving plates is really nice too. I find the atmosphere to be festive, it’s a cozy environment. The owners are most welcoming and pleasant and you can sense the care put into the food preparation. It takes a little bit for food but not too long, it’s that it is prepared on the spot fresh and hot. Many times we have picked up food to take home and it has been well packaged to keep its warmth. Beer and wine are options if you like as well. And in this time with rising food costs, you will be pleasantly surprised…not only are serving sizes completely adequate but the prices are reasonable. I’ve noticed that restaurants with larger lease space seem to be charging quite a bit more and also being stingier. While I get lease space is expensive, ingredients in dishes are not so different to justify $4-10 more expensive for the same dish at one restaurant over another. The Chef will continue to get our patronage!

loved the tasty food and kind service. we had such a nice family night out here, 4 kids and 2 adults. willing to make most dishes without garlic or peanuts due to sensitivities. we were all so happy to eat here and surprised it wasn't packed! the main dishes were surprisingly affordable (just $14 per main!) and the server gave an extra free dessert to go to our 3 year old who she doted on....we will be back

Best Thai place in town. Fantastic food, service and atmosphere. Amazing flavor, with beautiful presentation. Love this place and will definitely be coming back.

First time I ordered from here, I got their mussaman curry and it was delicious (highly recommend). My spouse and I enjoyed it so much that we drove a long ways to come back but to order something different—crab fried rice 🤤. I was disappointed bc it was extremely salty—and honestly, tough to consume. I do hope they relax on the soy sauce and salt a tad bit since crab is already high in sodium. Great flavors, and the cucumbers did help cut out the sodium but I couldn’t imagine spending $20 again for this. Would definitely come back and dine-in for a legitimate experience. Crab puffs was a 7/10 for me.

My second time eating here. This restaurant is a Hidden Gem whimsically decorated with silk flowers cascading everywhere. Some of the best Thai food I've ever had. My 2 dining companions had various curries which they adored. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back. They do a large take out business but I highly recommend eating in!

Overall the service was great ! Small mom and pop- food came out quickly one after another. Very clean. Even gave us cutely cut up fruit as complimentary when they noticed we were nearing the end of our meal. I love Isaan food and I was shocked to find a place in Vancouver for it, since it's already pretty difficult to find places in Portland outside of the few we have. The appetizers are what ultimately settled on 4 stars- the calamari ended up being rings and more Americanized than we expected, and our wings were not the best :( since they were over fried and cut up in a way to make more surface area during the frying, there wasn't much meat it was all crunch. The entrees were great, though! My partner ordered the pad khee mao drunken noodles. I got the thum taad which is a platter of a multitude of papaya salad, prawn, Vietnamese ham, pork grinds, etc. the thum has the perfect funky taste I look for when it's Isaan thum. Delicious!!!! Prawn was pretty good. Loved it. We also got this oyster clam omlette but unfortunately it was mainly batter crispy bits and less egg and clam. But flavor was not bad. Would love to come back again and order more items. :)

This place is one of the most authentic Thai place I've been to. It is a Mom And pop shop. they take your time preparing your food correctly. And so delicious. You can't find some dishes anywhere else but here. I love it!

We came on what should have been one of the busiest evenings of the year, Moms day. The place was dead. Minus the staff and their two children playing games barefoot in the corner. The place was very clean and cute. Prices were decent until the food came out. VERY SMALL portions. Missing pics are the Pad Se Ew and pineapple fried rice. Puffs were bland. The kids liked em. Pad Thai, waaaaay too much peanut sauce. It was overly saucy. Wings, dry and fried to a crisp. Pineapple fried rice was moist and mushy, literally came out yellow and tasted like curry. Crying tiger, no flavor but the sauce was good. As you can see barely anything got $18. The pad se ew was the best item. Nice smoky flavor. The staff was nice. However they forgot our utensils, no serving spoons, and were really stingy with the napkins. Like I asked over 4 times for napkins and she kept just giving us like 4 each time. There were 8 of us dining. I would never come back to this place. There's way too many Thai spots in Vancouver that do it right. Also, there was a random mattress in the back next to the restroom. Kinda gross IMO.

Ordered the steamed vegetable with peanut sauce. Asked for ginger to be put in the order. Order came back wrong and the chicken looked well overcooked and discolored. No ginger was put in the order and the vegetables and meat was in a pool of water. The rice was cold and the peanut sauce was a tiny amount cold and runny, completely dissatisfied. I walked out without taking a bite. They couldn't seem to get the order right and then when I asked for corrections to the order, I heard the chef yelling in the kitchen overall, I would never go here again.

My favorite Thai place by far and I'm from Thailand. The Thai Chef Thai Cuisine is authentic and legit. My second time here this week ever since I found it.

My mother went there today and specifically asked if a menu item contained fish, they told her no. And after she took a bite of it she thought she tasted it and they said no repeatedly. She has a severe allergy fish allergy and started going into anaphylaxis. When my dad rushed to the restaurant to take her to the hospital and they stopped him from leaving until he paid the bill. So that is in addition to the $3000 hospital bill that they accrued due to this restaurant's deliberate negligence and incompetence. If I could give less than 1 star I would.

If you're considering an authentic and delicious Thai food experience, this is your spot. I fell in love as soon as I walked in the ambiance is super fun! It's obvious the owners went through a lot of thought and effort with the decor. The food is delicious. There's a mix of super traditional and Americanized Thai choices. I've eaten there with friends and date nights, and it's an amazing takeout option. The crispy pork belly salad blew me away and it's now a regular part of my order.

We just recently moved here and wanted to find some "good enough" thai places but never thought i would find an "as good as home" type of flavor. Every thai restaurant has their typical pad thai, yellow curry, tom yum and so forth but this place has menus that I rarely see here in the states. They're even hard to find in Thai Town California. Anyways our first visit, my husband had grapao moo krob (basil pork belly) and second visit he had yellow curry with pork belly (he's a pork belly fan) and he said they both were really good. His menus aren't too hard to find. I went for more of the "what i want to eat at home" which was juab yuan (kinda like homemade thick rice noodle soup) and kuai jaab (rolled flat noodle soup). Both visit i took kanom jeen (noodle salad with mackerel, spice level 5) home. I love everything kanom jeen so this was golden find for me!! They also had "look choop" which is a traditional thai dessert made of mung bean (yellow bean) and jelly then molded into different shapes. Traditional ways wouod be molded i to little fruits and veggies (pictures). Modern days in thailand, you'll see all sorts of fun cute characters.It's soft and sweet, a must try. Their thai tea was good too, not super sickenly sweet like what you get at some boba place. I'll definitely be a regular there because there's so many menus i want to try: yum pladook foo, thai boat noodle, yum woonsen, goong oab woonsen, tom yum noodle, and so forth!!

I wanted to try a new to me Thai restaurant and this one had high marks. My experience was equally stellar. The menu has several options that you don't find in most Thai restaurants, consistent with the country, most of their specials are seafood based. Service is warm, cheerful and spot on. While I have had Panang Curry several times, this time I went for the crispy pork belly version. I appreciate their spice scale, from no spice to mild, medium, hot and even hotter. I went for mild and it was perfect for me. The wife went for chicken yakisoba, which can be a mixed choice and she was quite happy and pleased The pot stickers were good as well. The presentation stands out with the quality of the food and service. A bamboo plate for the noodles, a steel pot for the curry and a carafe of cold water on the table. It was our first visit, not our last. It is a great place for those who have tried the rest and want to try something that has the favorites and others you may not have tried yet.

Great Thai food and a different menu than most places. You'll find a few recognizable dishes, but they specialize in unique offerings sure to please the pallets of many Thai enthusiasts. We opted for special item 1 on the menu, the Thai pork belly dish, the crispy pork skewers, and the grilled river prawn dish. The food was super tasty. We could have eaten 10 plates of the skewers! They were the best! The pork belly was tender and juicy, and the prawn dish with glass noodles was out of this world. Presentation was fabulous, with food being served on their own embossed wood platters. Ambience was cozy with decorations and photos of the good adorning the walls. Chef came out and we thanked him. The guy has amazing knife skills! Can't wait to return! Check it out when you get a chance.

We tried Thai Chef for the first time for lunch over the weekend and it exceeded our expectations! The food was clearly made using quality ingredients and the service was just right. We will return!

YUM!!! what a surprise to have some of the best thai food in a strip mall in Vancouver! We ordered the crab puffs, which were perfect little presents of creamy lusciousness, the Tom Kah with shrimp, which was the best that I have ever had and I am a connoisseur! And we also ordered the yellow curry, which was so delicate it didn't even seem like curry. It was so surprising I couldn't get over it. I kept saying wow wow during my entire meal. I would strongly recommend this restaurant! The lady that is the waitresses is also the Cook and she's very sweet and the inside of the restaurant is colorful with flowers and also very sweet. You should go!

This restaurant is charmingly decorated and has friendly service. The food came out pretty fast and exceeded my expectations in taste. I particularly enjoyed the Railway Fried Rice--it was truly phenomenal. Plus, the prices were quite reasonable. I would come back again.

I am an over the top fan of going into an asian restaurant and seeing a TON of asian people in the joint. THAT is the first great sign... people that know the food are visiting... Especially in a city/town that doesn't have a gigantic Asian population. Same if I see all Mexican or latino peeps in a place that is serving Mexican food. you get the idea... Also, I try and temper my reviews and stand in the camp of being reasonable and take into consideration the AREA that a restaurant is in and the general population of said AREA. Blue collar... Yuppies... Count the number of trucks to Teslas and you can get a general feel for the type of restaurants they will have. Now that I know there will be a few people reading this that think this is ridiculous, but I guarantee that a high end restaurant in a working class area will have a lot of 'too expensive' comments and a ton of white middle America will consider a lot of exotic food "strange or chewy" but hey, maybe I am wrong... Everyone in the mill town eats at traditional Chinese restaurants where the #1 plate is wok fried sliced intestine... right? See my point?!? There... Now that this point is out of the way, this place is fantastic!!!!! I haven't seen Tom Leng since I was in LA and before that, I had it from a Thai family making it at home for their little girls birthday. Great texture and the ribs were fall off the bone... sour body to the soup and it was hot!!! SOO GOOD! Yam Pla Duk Ful... CRISPY Catfish salad... YES please!!! tons of greens all over shredded mango and sweet and SPICY sauce... (but if you get Thai hot, be prepared to be Thai... not for the beginner!) Tom Thad... Papaya salad with seafood (HUGE prawns... almost like langoustine) crab and pork belly crispy with the texture of the noodles. Can't beat it. Very well seasoned!!! Not sure if you can say it's expensive when you can't get anything like it anywhere near her that is remotely close... but if your idea is pad Thai and you like crab puffs, this is probably not your place... go somewhere else. there are a hundred crappy places that can serve you the 'Big Mac' of siam, but if you want unbelievable food that is an adventure, this is your place!!! We also had the stuffed squid salad and the crispy pork belly (yum moo Krab) and it was great too... although the pork belly was like a few minutes over done so it was drier than the other pork belly dishes. Great ambiance, but I took it to go for lunch with the guys. who all couldn't shut up about the flavor.... It wasn't cheap but I will be back on Friday with my Girlfriend and we will try things that would blow your mind.

I was craving Thai food and decided to give them a try since they had the highest ratings in our area. We ordered take out and I got my usual Thai favorites Pad See Ew with tofu, salad rolls with tofu, and Thai iced tea. My order was ready as soon as I got there and everything tasted great. Even though it's not the closest option I will definitely be back.

I don't like to hate on restaurants and Hate is doesn't describe my feelings here. The flavor of the dishes I ordered was pretty good... like 3.5 stars. The issue I had was the texture. (I may not speak for the average person but I eat a lot of Thai food.) We had a chicken curry that was literally like broth. It had no thickening. It wasn't soup like, it was soup. I also ordered Pad Thai. The noodles were overcooked to the point of being mushy and it was sauced to the point of being wet. Maybe Im not a good judge of Thai food. Maybe I caught them on an off day, maybe it's just takeout... regardless, we didn't finish either dish. Again, I hate to leave a bad review but I really wish I'd seen someone write what I've written here.

Always order take out from here, as it's literally seconds from my house. The food is absolutely wonderful and I appreciate that many things are able to be gluten free, as my fiancée has a gluten insensitivity. The staff is always nice, the taste and freshness in everything is out of this world. Highly recommend!

Don't let the little location fool you - this place is the real deal. Full disclaimer - I worked at a Thai restaurant in high school and consider it now one of my favorite cuisines, so any chance I get, I am eating at a Thai place. On New Years Eve, my family and I did an Escape room nearby and we wanted to pick up some takeout to bring home after. We pre-ordered online (SUPER easy process!) and picked up... it was super hot and fresh AND ready at our pick up time! The staff there was so kind and humble when we came in - offering to help carry the bags to our car because there was so much (couldn't help it - everything looked delicious and we over-ordered!). Even the chef popped his head out from the back to say hello and thank you... but it was ME that should have been thanking them. Little did I know I was about to go on a culinary trip across the globe. We went for a few appetizers: calamari, dumplings, crab rangoons - al were completely demolished by our family. They have monthly specials and I hope they keep the pork belly and the crying tiger on that list because both were a major hit for us! We also ordered pad see ew, pad thai, fried rice, and a curry - all which were excellent. The pad thai was a bit heavy on the tamarind but I like it that way! The only dish that was less of a hit was the black pepper beef only because the beef was really tough. The flavor in it was fantastic and lots of onions and veggies were a nice touch. Overall - epic place that I wish I lived closer to!

I moved up here from Beaverton about two years ago, and I have been trying to find a good Thai place for a while. We've just kind of started with the place is close by and have been working our way further and further out. But finally, only about 19 minutes away, we finally found this place! The panang curry chicken was excellent, as was the pad Thai. We will definitely go again (and again.) Our search is over. Only bummer is that the appetizers only come as giant orders... like you can't just get one or two.

The food is awesome. Fresh vegetables and meat. We tried green curry with chicken and cashew nut with beef. Both were delicious and plated well. The green curry is so clean and flavorful. Best I've had anywhere. Our friends tried a beef salad and pad Thai and loved both.

Truly different than other Thai restaurants I have been to. The Yum Moo Krob (Crispy Pork Belly Salad) is flavored like Laarb with lime and fish sauce but made with chunks of wonderfully rich pork belly. The Crab Puffs are actually full of the cream cheese and krab mixture. I can't wait to try more of their menu. Also important for me when they changed owners they got new seating which is so comfortable. It makes a difference in where I choose to eat. I mention it in case someone else needs non wooden straight back chairs.

The restaurant is small and quaint. The food portions are perfect for the price. A lot of attention to detail and the service was great

The positive reviews baffle me. We had a very different experience. Food came out sporadically. Three of our party of four were finished eating by the time the last dish arrived. The meat in my soup and my husband's dish was questionable. The "yakisoba" noodles are top ramen. The only flavor in anything I ate came from salt. And the Thai iced tea was so sweet it was impossible to drink. As for ambiance, it is super cramped, with tables only a few inches apart. Not going to be a repeat customer.

Food was fast. Great and soooo good. Prices are solid and delivery was efficient. If you're looking for something tasty and cost efficient you go here.

Probably the worst Thai food I've ever had in my entire life. Poor food ingredients. We ordered the crying tigard, it was tasteless, dry and overcooked, the sauce was too sweet. The grilled river prawns have a strong (fishy/ammonia odor) to it. They have gone bad. I can't believe they still serve them to their costumers. I had to spit it out my gut was screaming "NO". Tum Yum seafood noodle soup., again, the seafood smells extremely unpleasant and pungent, the soup was okay, trust me, you can spend .50 cents to get a pack of MaMa instant noodle and it tastes way better than this. Lastly. We ordered Mango sticky rice. The sticky rice was dried up, not sure how long it has been sitting in the fridge. Poor experience ever. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

1. The menu - not just the usual Thai items, interesting new choices! 2. The food - all three of us loved our dishes and definitely coming back and definitely trying something completely new. 3. The service - did a to go and easy to order with personal options and ready when they said. Very kind and efficient! But the dining room is super charming and inviting. Great find!

Overall, I was satisfied with my order. The Thai fried rice and rad nah were both decent. My only complaint is that the rice was very undercooked in my mango sticky rice. The taste was good and the mango was super sweet, but the rice was hard and chewy which was a bit disappointing.

In Portland for a week for work, and I must say that they have the best crispy pork kra pow I have ever had, even when in Thailand. The flavors just burst out. I will be back daily while I am here.

Wow! One of the very best Thai restaurants in the Couve with likely the most unique menu. Thai street food in Vancouver!

I ordered fresh rolls w/shrimp and yum moo krob (crispy pork belly) total $30.38 I'm disappointed in the small portion size! The crispy pork was dryer than crispy. The rolls had 2 small shrimp in each roll. It's definitely not worth the $30 This was a to go order. While waiting for my food, the portions, the dine-in patrons were average size. Makes me wonder why online and to go customers Spring Rollsare treated so poorly. Luckily, I had some lunch meat in the refrigerator so I could make a sandwich. Will not be going back.

The service was excellent. The most delicious Thai food in Vancouver, WA. My husband and I will be back for sure.

This is my new favorite Thai food in town. As a person who was born and raised in Thailand, I would prefer to have real authentic Thai Food and this place amazingly nailed it. You can find some special dishes that hard to find from other Thai restaurants. That's a big plus for me. They don't just offer delicious food, they also provide wonderful and super friendly services. My friends and I are always treated like a family everytime we stop by for lunch. The ambience is cozy and very casual, you will definitely enjoy the meal here.

Very disappointed in the food and service. Ordered Tom kha soup, coconut based soup, and it was devoid of coconut, green onions and galangal and lemongrass. Really? Server confirmed we were served Tom kha and not Tom yum...humm. $18 for smallish bowl. $12 for four two bite salad rolls with 'traces' of shrimp. Shortly after meal my digestive system was very unhappy... poor ingredients and/or food handling practices. Lousy service, server ignored our requests for condiments and walked away. Soda served in a can with a straw...I was left begging for a glass and ice. Really? Ambiance okay and we will not be back. Very disappointing particularly given mostly positive reviews. One star is generous.

Must be an off day today based on past good reviews. I ordered yellow curry with shrimp. It was overly salty and soupy. There were 5 small pieces of shrimp and about 4 small cube of potatoes considering potatoes is kinda the main ingredient of yellow curry and 4 thin slices of carrots. I've had yellow curry from other Thai restaurants and they were all pretty consistent. Disappointed with my food today.

I love spicy Thai!! Just be careful what you ask for. I've ordered "spicy" 2x and both dishes were almost indelible-hot. Not like other "spicy" thai dishes. They don't play.. and I'll order medium spicy next time to compensate.

Hard to find authentic Thai foods in Vancouver area. This is one of the Thai restaurant I would like to recommend.

I was very excited to learn that there's an authentic Thai restaurant right next to my hotel. We were planning to go to Portland for our regular Thai restaurant visits, but we ended up coming to this place twice in a row. We didn't take photos for the first visit because we were too hungry from the white water rafting trip. The group ordered papaya salad with salted crab (you can make it either Thai or Lao style), crispy pork belly and holy basil stir fry, seafood curry stir fry (this is not on their menu anymore, but I was told that they still had the dish), Tom Yum noodle soup, and Thai fried rice. I can't comment on the fried rice nor the noodle soup, but my friend enjoyed them and cleaned their plates. The papaya salad was so flavorful and had a nice balance of sweet, sour and spicy with the funkiness from the salted crab. The crispy pork belly went so well with rice and the holy basil is just on point with the delicious garlic and Thai chili sauce! Seafood curry stir fry is sooooooo tasty! It's not too strong, but enough flavor for you to demolish every bit of sauce on the plate. The seafood tasted fresh and the veggies all had nice crunch and went very well with the curry eggy sauce. Now onto the next day. We were driving home in the morning, but postponed our departure so we could visit again at lunch hour. I intentionally took photos so I could write this review and encourage everyone who loves Thai food to go try them!!!! The mussel pancake was crunchy and delicious - they weren't shy with the amount of mussels that they put in! Pad see ew had nice burn bits and perfect "wok" taste. Papaya salad was as good as yesterday. Finally, the steamed squid! It was introduced as their signature dish and they weren't lying! Sooooooo good. The steamed squid juice mixed with lime and chili was heavenly. They also added Chinese celery leaves and mint for extra herbaceousness to the juice/sauce/soup. There's also some chopped lettuce to soak everything up. It's a bit pricy, but it is the same for every restaurant right now given the inflation, and I think it's totally worth it! Service was great, and parking was super easy. What is it not to like??

We had (2) Stir Fry: sweet and sour chicken okay, Thai Vegetable Garden pork kinda bland and Black Tea. $32 Not exactly the most generous portions.

I got the red curry and it was sooooo delicious. The spice level was perfect (I got medium) and the amount of food was a good bang for the buck. Will be coming here again!

Saturday night dinner around 5:30. Business was slow. One other couple came in after us. First time diners here and we ordered crab puffs, drunken noodles and grilled river prawns with rice. The server was nice, but was just an order taker. Crab puffs were mostly cream cheese that overpowered any crab or basil flavors in the puff. The server didn't ask for a spice level on the Drunken Noodles and gave us a mild when we wanted medium. The grilled river prawns were just that without rice or veggies. It should have been billed as an appetizer. Overall, it was just your ordinary hole-in-the-wall Thai restaurant. Service was slow. My husband finished his dish before mine even came, out. Family-run business that must not have had enough kitchen help. Kids can be seen in the back playing games. A small dirty mattress can be seen in the back near the restroom. Kind of gross to see this. Not worth coming back. I had high hopes based n the pictures, but it was just mediocre Thai food.

This restaurant is a true gem. Amazing Thai food that tastes very authentic! Order the Chef Recommended dishes and prepare to taste real Thai cuisine. The portions are generous and to top it off the service was fantastic. You will love this place!

Lunch portion, dinner price. Ordered drunken noodles and picked up within 15 minutes. Noodles were not fresh, tasted reheated. Chicken was dry, stringy, and overcooked. The whole dish tasted old and had a microwaved texture. Possibly the worst Thai noodle dish I've ever had and considered driving it back to the restauran.

I absolutely love getting takeout from this little spot. It really is a hidden gem! Everyone is so friendly, service is quick and the food is made with love. Highly recommend this Thai spot!
