I recently visited Tortas El Rey and ordered the chicken burrito with fries — hands down one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. The burrito was generously filled with tender, flavorful chicken, fresh ingredients, and perfectly balanced seasoning. Every bite had that homemade authenticity you only get from a kitchen that truly cares about its food. The fries were hot, crispy, and well-seasoned — a simple side done absolutely right. Service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere had that welcoming, neighborhood feel that makes you want to come back. ⭐☆☆☆☆ Absolutely awful. As people who lived in a border town for nearly 15 years and truly know what authentic Mexican food tastes like, this was one of the most disgusting meals we've ever had. We were staying near Disney and made the mistake of driving 30 minutes to Tortas El Rey because of all the hype on social media. Big mistake. Let’s start with the so-called “famous” $1 ground beef tacos. What a joke. Each taco had about one cent's worth of mystery meat—if you can even call it that. The rest was a bland, mushy potato filler. They were gross, plain and simple. We each took one bite and tossed them. Next, we tried the carne asada tostada. Dry, bland, forgettable. Easily a 2/10, and that's being generous. The meat was chewy and poorly seasoned, with zero depth of flavor. Then came the worst part: the al pastor taco and tostada. What on earth was that? A greasy, slimy mess of meat-like mush that tasted absolutely nothing like al pastor. It was unidentifiable, unappetizing, and honestly, inedible. We couldn't even finish them. We were shocked this place has any following at all. If this is what social media is hyping up, people seriously need their taste buds checked. Tortas El Rey is all gimmick, no quality. If you’re looking for authentic, delicious Mexican food—this ain’t it. Hard pass.

Called for take out, so didn't check until we got home that half the orders were wrong. Asked for carne asada sopes and got carnitas instead. Asked for no jalapeños and no onions on a torta and it was full of them. Called to at least get a refund on those 2 items since the tacos were correct but they wanted me to bring the food back. I offered to send photos since it is not close to me but demanded I bring the food back. My daughter pregnant and already has a hard time eating with being nauseous. Tried to dig out all the jalapeños and onions but she couldn't even stomach the food. I understand restaurants needing proof that the order was incorrect but I tried to offer the photos but their policy to return the food when it's only going to get thrown out since I already took it just seemed over the top. I didn't want a refund on the whole order just what was wrong since again they are far from me.

Tortas El Rey is a new favorite. A wide variety of options to choose from, at affordable pricing. Everything is FRESH. The flavors are fantastic. They have options for the people who love or hate spicy foods. The taco salad is huge! Big enough for two people, but so good you'll want your own. The Carne Asada Burrito, Chicken Tamale, and Beef Taco were even better. If you try anything for the first time make sure to get it the way it comes, no substitutions or changes! You won't regret it. Everyone was incredibly sweet and the service was great. I highly recommend giving them a try if your in the area. There's just so much to choose from, I can't wait to go back and try more!

Super duper cheap and delicious tacos! The al pastor taco is my favorite and was soooo good. The portions are very delicious and there is so much flavor in these tacos. Best tacos in the area!

Food is great, customer service is awful. Employer screamed at the top of her lungs so rude “hello!!!!!” So I left. The terrible customer service is insane and if it wasn’t I would go every day due to its right next to my job. Such a shame.

Those little tacos were the perfect snack before going home to prepare dinner. I believe we shared 2 a piece that day. The tacos were fresh and hot. They were packaged well. The service was friendly and and quick at the drive-thru. I need to visit again when I am not in a hurry so that I can try new things from the menu. I thought I took more pictures but I didn't sorry.

Spanish is helpful but not required.

Both tacos were good. The Al pastor was definitely better. It was fresh, hint of cilantro, well spiced. The wait was not that bad. 10mins for 2 tacos. Nice place for late night eats. The price was even better. 2.55$ per taco. The only complaint - it was a little greasy.

Went on a Wednesday afternoon and waited a hour for just 9 tacos! This place got too popular and now they can't handle the workload which for me....makes me take my business elsewhere! To another whole in a wall Good food but not worth the wait tbh

I've always pass this place and never been one day on my way into the office I decided to give this place a go. I wasn't sure what to order but the taco looked promising my colleagues told me to do their lunch special. Which I did and it was four tacos with a drink . The tacos come with cilantro and onions which I personally enjoy. (I know some do not) the chicken lacked more flavor in my opinion however for 10 bucks how can someone truly complain? My colleague got the steak she let me try that which I thought was just too greasy. I would go back and try the pork to see if that is good. I do wish they offered jaritos but they didn't disappoint with the limeade they do offer. Expect a slight wait as well it wasn't too bad as they were just opening up at 10;30 am but there was a wait. The drive through is like checkers but you can only use one side. I believe the other side is for walk ups. They do offer plenty of other items but the most cost effective is the lunch special med drink and 4 tacos for 10.50!.

Tortas El Rey has never disappointed! This is my go to spot when I am craving flautas. On both occasions that I have been, the service has always been great and the food has been hot and fresh!, which probably accounts for the longer wait times. On this occasion I added a carne asada taco just to try and it was good. Not the best I have had here in Orlando, but still tasty and very affordable. As I mentioned, the flautas are delish and flavorful. They have a variety of options and offer specials as well. Don't be deceived by the looks or location and give it a try.

I really had high hopes for this place based on recommendation and reviews but unfortunately I was let down. I drove almost 20 minutes out of my way to try Tortas El Rey. When I arrived there was a line at the drive-thru which I thought was a good sign, but it was likely due to the orders taking a bit longer as they are made to order. The drive thru Attendant was very nice, boosting this review to a 3 star The location is simple, its an old remodel Checkers so theres only drive thru and a pick up window with a few benches. I wanted to try a few tacos, so I ordered the Cabeza(Beef head), Al Pastor, & Carne Asada. The the biggest issue I had was flavor or lack there of. The Carne Asada was very bland to me, the cabeza was a little better but not much. The al pastor overwhelmingly tasted like cinnamon to me, which I'm not the biggest fan of but atleast it had more seasoning/flavor. All in all I was disappointed with my visit, my all time favorite taco spot in Brandon, FL Chicken Taco Loco still holds the crown of best tacos I have had in Central FL.

Let's begin with the most important thing, the tacos. The tortillas are like a soft bun. I've never had such a fluffy, sauce grabbing, and delicious envelope for my protein! For any foodies in a taco tour, this is a must stop. As for simple, quick, and authentic Mexican comida anytime of day...boom this is the spot. I'm a once a week guy from here on.

Food is awesome, unfortunately the service is incredibly slow. You can wait anywhere from 20-45 minutes in their car line sometimes. They really need better management.

The place is another hole in the wall spot, they only have sitting outside but, the day I went, the weather was immaculate so we did not mind at all. I ordered the carne asada tacos and a large lemonade and my mother ordered the flautas and a large horchata. Lemonade taste like a regular lemonade from the machine but the horchata was actually pretty bomb. Food took about 18 minutes and it was actually more then I expected. Tacos are in white corn tortillas and they fill them up. Loved that they definitely give you, your moneys worth. Limes and jalapeños with grilled onion are in tiny bags and somehow that, brought back memories of Mexico. They give you green and red salsa and its pretty good, may I say this tacos are packed packed. Definitely will be returning.

Food is so good! Came here at 9:30pm and ate there. Note: this is a drive-thru place with outdoor seating only! They have tables with umbrellas. Service is quick and efficient. We got a cabeza burrito which was sooooo satisfying. The filling consisted of just rice, meat, onion, cilantro and perfection. Exactly what we were looking for. No nonsense. It's a pretty fat burrito too - very filling! The cabeza was super soft, melty, and rich. Every bite was delicious. This was our first time trying huaraches so we had no idea what to expect. One order of huaraches is definitely enough for one person. I thought it would be small, similar to a taco, so I ordered 2. Boy was I wrong. It's like a corn paddleboard carrying the toppings. Crispy around the edges, a little bean filling in the middle of the base and then plenty of meat + sour cream and cheese on top. And the lime perfectly cuts the oil and rounds it all out. The corn base is thick and sturdy to safely deliver each bite. It's quite oily so just keep that in mind. Now the flan. It's one of the best flans we've had in a long time! Dense, eggy, custardy, creamy perfect texture. It's not the super jiggly, airy flan. The sauce has a nice toasty roasty, caramelized flavor. And believe it or not, for a flan, it's not super sweet. It's the right amount of sweetness with a nice vanilla aroma as well. Will definitely be back for all the good food.

Nobody ever came to take my order at the front walk up window, even after pushing the electronic bell button. Drive thru was a very slow dead standstill. Every window (even the drive thru) are covered in security bars. Have to make a u turn out and go wrong way against traffic if you want to pull back in and eat at outdoor tables. You have to guess what the menu prices are because they are not displayed or faded beyond recognition.

BEST LATE NIGHT CRAVINGS! I often visit this local gem after work for some late night cravings for authentic tacos. Personally, it's the best tacos I've tried in Orlando and the best price. It is loaded with meat and my all time favorites are the el pastor and the asada. There's a drive thru and outside seatings. It tends to be pack at night and might be a bit of a wait but it is worth visiting!

I was thinking about this place this weekend while my mouth was watering thinking about it. So it's been while since I have been here for tacos. I think last order was a burrito. So came in and 30 mins after opening so there were no patrons as yet since they kinda just opened. I ordered the 4 tacos with a drink lunch special. I upgraded the drink to a large Horchata and it was billed additional $1.50 on the tab. So the total with the lunch special was around $12ish. The wait was kind of long. They make orders as they are ordered. Only thing I don't like is when they call out your order they are loud so with no mask the food and whatever that comes out when they yell your name lands on the food I am ASSUMING. The platter is full of meat on the tacos btw. The taste : Salty and Unseasoned. I would never come back here again for that. I could have went to PLAZA MEXICO in wahneta in polk county for better authentic tacos. Tortas el ray SHREDS THE MEAT and thats what I do not like as well. Thats cheaper to serve it that way in my opinion rather than cubed or chopped meats.. Just the saltiness when I first took a bite of the carne asada was just ughhhhh . And lack of flavor too. It was pretty much shredded meat and salt and then cooked. Topped with onions and cilantro. TIP: since they give you tons of meat and 2 soft tortilas per taco..You can split the meat and use it to the other tortilla making it 8 tacos instead of 4! They give you tons of meat to do this. The Horchata was delicious more vanilla taste than cinnamon. But it was creamy than watery like others do it. The cashier was kinda slow taking my order which is odd because my order was simple. And no other customers were behind. The register POS system was modern so I do not see why she took it slow taking orders. I did not get the pickled beggies that you usually get with an order which is carrot and something else. I would stick to PLAZA MEXICO for my next round of authentic mexican tacos. At least over there the meats are cubled and seasoned very well.

Tortas El Ray is very enticing from afar with their flashes signs advertising 95c tacos! Their menu is very limited! For the tacos you can choose from grilled steak, marinated pork, grilled chicken, fried pork, Mexican sausage, and beef head. I tried the steak, pork and sausage- all were okay. The meat was dry, lacked flavor, and salty! The quesadilla was again okay- they cheese was poor quality and did not seem like authentic Mexican cheese! They do not do refills on drinks (even coca-cola)! Its cheap food and not worth the hype...could've been better

Yummy, fast, cheap and so worth the drive! Anytime we go to Orlando we will swing by!! Tacos were packed full of meat.

I was REALLY looking forward to trying this place after hearing all the hype about it and was a bit disappointed! I got one of each tacos because why not; they we're pretty inexpensive at $1+ per tacos. My favorite in order would be chicken, carne asada, cabeza, chorizo, and Al pastor. My favorite tacos are always alpastor and chorizo, but I found the chorizo to be bery salty for my liking and the al pastor to be a bit too sweet/soggy (the meat seemed shredded and I'm more use to it in small diced portions). I got all the toppings and really did enjoy their green and red spicy sauces; I found the green one to be spicier. I paired this with a pineapple agua fresca, which was a bit too sweet and tasted box made. I ordered 2 of each tacos (1 of each for me and my significant other) plus a drink for a total of about $30 something. The price was good for the amount of food because these tacos were LOADED. The service was really quick, my tacos all came out, in seperate plates, in a matter of minutes given for how many I ordered I was pleased! The workers were friendly and efficient. There is only outside seating here with a good amount of tables. You order at the window and then wait for your food to be called out; they also have a drive thru which is cool! Again, I was a bit disappointed after hearing so many good things about this place; but I have to give it to them for their service and quantity of food for the price you pay!

Food was amazing!! I called ahead my order as I had heard that it was a long wait. But that's to be expected. (It's all cooked to order) Still sat and waited about 15 minutes for our food but was well worth the wait. Priced very reasonably. Only complaint is there parking.

The order line was quick and simple and efficient however, waiting for the food took over 25 minutes to receive. The hot sauce I had to ask for extra they only provided two tiny little sauce cups for my four tacos, and I had requested for extra pickled carrots and onions, and that was the extra in that small little sandwich bag. The soda was not as carbonated as I had liked but it did the job satisfied my thirst. I give it a four star rating based on the flavor of the tacos, and not so much of the ambience or the service seating outside. The Carnitas were well marinated, the Asada was also well marinated. However, the cut was extremely small, making it look like ground beef, the chicken was very moist and flavorful and last was the Al Pastor, which was perfect. That was my favorite. Very affordable all this for $10.50!

I have heard of this spot for Soo long and many colleagues and friends have always recommended here saying it was one of the best taco spots in Orlando. For what's it's worth, place was easy to find , and kind of easy to spot, but located just off the main road OBT, and located next to Bombay Kitchen. Parking was simple but very small given how big the actual business is. They do have a drive thru Order and kind of similar to a checkers design based on size and style. Personally wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be because I had a mix of reviews on a good amount of the menu items. For sure had to get me some tacos since this is the spot it was known for. For one thing, tacos were cheap at around $2-2.50. And they offer about 6 options such as chicken, steak, pork, sausage, and beef head. I tried them all but a good amount of them were just salty. My favorite had to be just the chicken, steak, and beef head. Really nice flavor with a mix of the green sauce and it was good to go. Service was great since they were fast and had us taken care of within like 5-10 mins, but I'm not sure if I would come back, but still overall great place and I still suggest to check it out because they have plenty of other options to try from.

I am SO glad I found this place. They have the best al pastor I have had since we moved to FL from CA. Burritos are decent size & have some good weight to them, and their street tacos are PACKED with meat. I ordered 4 street tacos thinking I would probably still be hungry. Each street taco has 2 tortillas, so I split the meat between the 2 tortillas, so each street taco is technically 2 street tacos. They have a burrito special which I think is like $10 or $11 for a taco & a drink. I've only gone through the drive through, but I've never more than 10 minutes for my food even when I've gone with a line of cars in front of me.

One of my favorite taco spots in Orlando. Prices are good and the food is tasty. I eat here at least once a week. I order the exact same thing every week: beef flautas and one chicken taco. There's no indoor seating and you can only sit outside.

First of this place is a hidden/not so hidden gem ! I've passed by this place for yeaaaaaarrrrs and always see a line, but I never inquired about what they sell. I just so happen to see a Tik Tok video review of this place and I had to get there IMMEDIATELY! I ordered a few different things and enjoyed everything. I felt like a real big mamma after ordering so much and taste testing every single item, even the items I technically brought for my husband. I started with Tacos (4) . I ordered 2 chorizo, 1 carne asada & 1 Al Pastor . Then I ordered a steak Tortas. 2 gorditas steak & pork. 2 aqua frescas (horchata & pineapple). The drive through line was so long so I parked & did a window order. It took about 25-30 minutes for my food to be done. The food was delicious, I just wished I had said no onions on my tacos because it sooooo many diced onions and it kinda overpowered the taste of the meat. The Gordita's was my favorite and Both of my aqua frescas were delicious. The food tastes just like someone's abuela is in the kitchen cooking & putting her whole heart and soul into the meals. The place is inexpensive to me, but don't be fooled once you start ordering the small numbers creep up on you fast and BOOM your total is $75. Overall this place is not new, but new to me and If you haven't been already definitely check them out and let me know what you think . You can't miss the place it's right on OBT if your heading towards FL Mall from N OBT.

I wouldn't recommend this taco place. I just had some tacos on Friday, 1 al pastor, 1 azada and 1 chorizo. It took forever to receive my order, even thou I was the only one in drive thru. The tacos were very sloppy and the flavor was off. I didn't even finished them. Later that evening I started getting a headache from them, they use wayyy too much MSGs in the tacos for flavor! I will never go back

Growing up in Texas I've always had a fondness for authentic Mexican food and this place hit the nail on the head. It's not fancy, but it hits all the flavors you want. Whenever I'm in this part of town I'm stopping by here for sure! Pictured is the taco lunch with beef and pork!

Best tacos I've had in Central Florida, an absolute go to for me. The lot space is fairly small for the capacity they get because they do get pretty busy but do a good job of moving through their line and taking care of their clients. Always a 10/10

Having lived in LA, I've had my share of damn good street tacos. These don't quite compare but they're still ok tacos. I ordered 2 carne asada tacos and a cabeza burrito (they didn't have my favorite meat option which is lengua). The order took about 30 mins which I didn't really mind because it was to be expected on cinco de mayo. I was entertained by people watching as the place was very busy and also a homeless guy harassing people (another thing to be expected being on OBT). My 2 steak tacos were ok. The texture/cut of the meat was more of a shredded randomness. I prefer the chopped tiny cubes. The cabeza burrito was better imo. Large burrito with the meat, rice and beans. Everything came with pickled onions and carrots on the side. Although I do prefer my grilled onions and jalapeños with my tacos, the pickled onions and carrots were good contrast to the fattiness of the burrito. The red and green sauce was good as well. At $2.45/taco and $8.80 for the burrito the price was fair. A plus is the place being open late. I'd return just because of that.

Legit tacos - most authentic street taco you can get in Orlando. Prices are great, can't go wrong. The tacos aren't huge, so if you're hungry, get another. Lots of sauces come with it and there great. The drive through can be slow, so be patient. The walk up window is usually faster

I ate lunch here several days last week and needless to say I love their tacos. I'm from Texas and it's hard to find good tacos when I travel so I was excited when my husband found this place. They're salsa Verde is perfect. Their beef steak tacos are wonderful. There is a wait of usually at least 20 mins for your order so we call a head and it works out great. It's worth the wait. I highly recommend. One of our workers ordered and Burito and he really liked it. I could never get past the beef tacos. They are small street tacos. I order 3 and my husband gets 4 and that's perfect for us. Try them!

Authentic Mexican food !! I used to come a bit more usual to this place but I stopped cause a while back the service was not great and they were always messing up the order. I decided to stop by on 5 de Mayo and it was great. Yes, it was busy but which Mexican place wasn't .. the food was definitely great - they did forget two of my tacos but I called them and they amended the issue fast. Tacos

I've been thinking of coming here for years. I'm so happy I finally made it. They have a drive through too! I paced my order at the walk up window and ate at one of the tables outside. I tried the beef crunchy taco, cabeza taco, carnitas taco, and al pastor taco. The tacos are about $2.50 each and absolutely stuffed to the max with meat. Everything was so delicious. I also tried the limeade which was perfectly refreshing. Highly recommend this place!! I want to go back to try the burrito, the torta and the tamale.

Wasn't terrible but meat in the tacos was lacking a flavor component. They do give you a perfect meat to tortilla ratio which I appreciate. Onion & cilantro on them if you request it and limes & hot sauce on the side. We had chorizo, al pastor, carne asada, Chicken, And chorizo tacos.

So so good! Carne asade torta was 10/10 and tacos were immaculate! And fast service I recommend for anyone in Orlando area!

We came here after the Kevin hart show for dinner. When we drove up we were excited to try this place. I ordered the entire menu. I'm so embarrassed lol!!! I ordered tacos, gorditas, Tortas, huraches, burrito and rice pudding. Everything was delicious!!! The tacos were soft. The fried pork was amazing along with the red pork. The chicken was good. We ordered so much that I took the rest home. For dessert, I got the rice pudding as the lady said it was better then the flan. We would come back here !!

Massively legit tacos in the drive through like how can you go wrong with that! So it was all about tacos I ordered pastor and asada the pastor was like sooo flavorful and soo good like it was perfect in just soo many taco ways even more so with their yummy red and green sauces like you can't go wrong with that either way! The asada taco was also very good and even better when mixed with some of that yummy salsa! Like there's not really too much to say other than tacos it's what's good here in just every way! Overall I'm sure I'll be back here again at some point as those pastor tacos were seriously yummy next time I'm totally going to have to get a torta just because!

Amazing!!! Very authentic taco! Reminds me of LA . A++ 10/10! Very quick and the sauces are great as well
