"Seychelles It’s always fun stumbling upon places the locals frequent. If you’re in Athens, venture beyond Monaistaraki/the Plaka and all the typical souvlaki joints to the Metaxourgeio neighborhood. Here, you’ll find Seychelles—described by Buzzfeed as “one of the 31 places you should eat around the world before you die.” Here, not only are the clientele and interior space hip, but the menu is fun and creative with simple but elevated dishes such as chickpeas with feta and mint, tomato and zucchini fritters, and a fantastic selection of cheeses from all over Greece. The pappardelle with kavourmas (cured pork) was jaw-droppingly delicious! Do yourself a favor, and make the trek out this way ... take the metro to Kerameikos, then walk or grab a cab for under five Euros. You’ll be glad you did. Dined here for dinner and as it was so good - we came back the next day for lunch. We sat by the counter on both occasions. The chef was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Greek cooking which was apparent in the food. We were served by lovely staff members. Extremely fresh ingredients. Menus differ slightly from dinner to lunch so sampled a number of incredible dishes. Great value for money. We will be back again!

A friend told me about this place from a previous trip and it lived up to the recommendation! Great fresh and creative menu options: large delightful greens salad, green beans with chèvre, pine nuts, and grapes!!, fresh house made gnocchi, etc.). We were a group of 3 able to fit in shortly after they opened on the weekend without a reservation. Would definitely go back!

Been coming to Athens for many years and really happy to discover this restaurant. The food while greek is next level. The Ox tongue was amazing as well as the the beef confit pappradelle. I grabbed a seat watching the Chefs cook. Staff are lovely and great atmosphere. Best part no tourists in square with many great cocktail bars and restaurants. Though I imagine this review will ruin that secret.

Had such a wonderful dining experience at Seychelles! I ordered the beef pappardelle and it was absolutely delicious. We were lucky to get a table on a Sunday without a reservation.. the restaurant filled up quickly, which shows how popular it is. We sat at the kitchen bar and loved watching the chefs in action. I believe it was the head chef we chatted with and he kindly offered us a complimentary appetizer while we waited. Such a thoughtful gesture! The food was excellent, the atmosphere was lively and the service made the whole experience even better. Truly had an amazing time and would love to come back.

We tried couple of different things but except the liver and the pork chops that they were nice the rest of the dishes were way below average. The service was inadequate and the prices were extremely high. Very expensive for the quantity and quality.

Best food experience in Athens, I was skeptical about its location at first, but once seated and had a look at the menu, the experience started changing. The food was exceptional, I wanted to try everything on the menu, but a man has his limits. Everything we had was at its best, for the salad to the tiramisu. Just exceptional!

Lovely restaurant hidden away in the centre of Athens, the food was a blend of Greek and European cuisine with exceptional taste. One of the guys working at the bar did an incredible job and made our experience one to remember. Portion sizes were huge! So tasty - really recommend

Really delicious food in an outdoor setting. That said, I wasn't happy that they presented the card machine to me with the 15% tip option already selected. That's cheeky.
