The Best Bars And Restaurants On Rainey Street - Austin - The Infatuation

"Little Brother feels like a bar that doesn’t want to be on Rainey Street. The drinks diverge from the vodka-and-soda formula that’s more common here—instead focusing on tiki-inspired cocktails and a better-than-decent beer and wine list. There are only about four barstools and a bar that feels like it could pack itself into a tiny home. But, reluctantly or otherwise, Little Brother has become one of our favorite spots on Rainey to grab a coffee and a cocktail and take a breather from the outside world." - nicolai mccrary, raphael brion

Every Single Eater Austin Eater Award Winner, Mapped

"Best Fun, Aggressive, and Socially Conscious Burger Pop-Up of 2021 The burger pop-up was started by Matthew Bolick as a way to share his smash burgers with people and became a fun unpretentious outlet during the pandemic and beyond with burger chutes, hella fun concerts, and always-on-point principles and missions. For the purposes of this map, we’re using one of Bolick’s other establishments, Little Brother, as the main address, but it should be noted that the bar is temporarily closed right now because there’s too much construction messing with its operations and business. Keep an eye on its Instagram for upcoming events." - Nadia Chaudhury

Austin Vegan Cheese Company Rebel Cheese Is Going on ‘Shark Tank’ | Eater Austin

"A hella-fun tiny bar on Rainey Street that is temporarily closing because construction and scaffolding have made it impossible to operate; its last day of service for now will be Sunday, December 17, and it is hosting an off-site farewell on Monday, December 18 at the Low Down Lounge with its drinks and beers plus food from the Bummer Burrito food truck and Matthew Bolick’s pop-up Bad Larry Burger Club starting at 6 p.m.; Little Brother’s coffee counterpart on South Congress will remain open." - Nadia Chaudhury

Best Emo Restaurants and Bars in Austin | Eater Austin

"Step back in time at this tiny bar on Rainey Street modeled after owner Matthew Bolick’s childhood room, complete with action movies playing on the VCR. The food here is also on theme: usually the Bummer Burrito truck with occasional interruptions from radical burger pop-up Bad Larry Burger Club. Punk and hardcore bands will often play on the equally tiny patio overlooking the street — maybe someday that will include Bolick’s own emo band, Mall Walker." - Erin Russell
