Sellwood Moreland Farmers Market

My favorite market! The staff is so friendly and so are all of the vendors! Amazing produce, fresh meat, sausage, fish, spirits, coffee, mushrooms, pies, kombucha and so much more! They are making sure everyone is safe during covid, hand washing stations and more precautions are being taken. You must go check it out!

Such an authentic place to purchase fresh produce and tasty creations. Thanks for inviting @whistle.and.fish to play live music!

This is a great neighborhood market. Lots of locally grown produce.

UPDATE in November 2025: The market has moved to a much better location! It's easy to find parking now. Very close to QFC and Ace Hardware in Sellwood. It's small.. that would be the only drawback. It's a great asset to the community. 🥦🍅🌽🍓 Nice venue

Come check out the fantastic spread of veggies, berries, fruits, flowers, sausages, and some wonderful locally crafted creations! There are kid friendly activities and senior bonuses as well! You can even bring your dog! The volunteers are all friendly and are looking to make every Wednesday a day for you to look forward to! Support your local businesses!

We got some fruit and vegetables here. They tasted good. Parking wasn't too difficult because we got there right around the time it opened.

I always enjoy this market. While it might be a little smaller than some neighborhood markets, still a great selection of goods. Currently, there is limited parking in the same lot on the north side.

Search for Hood Strawberries, that have a short 2 week season, I decided to venture to Moreland Farms Market after striking out at 3 other markets this week. Smaller than the markets I typically visit, the vendors represent a wide array of goods. And I got my Hood strawberries! As with all markets, there were lots of fresh fruits and produce available. One stand even put together a sampler box of Hood strawberries, local cherries and sugar snap peas, 2 pints of each. Very clever! Menegon,, the French crepe and caramel stand had me at hello. I had to sample the caramel, coffee caramel, and chocolate caramel and they all were divine! Rather than buy the sample pack, I opted for the 6oz jar of regular caramel; it was so soft and buttery, fabulous on crepes but why stop there? Drizzle in ice cream, pound cake, even in coffee. Made without excess sugar and no preservatives, I'll be back for the coffee caramel next! Wild Roots, a local and outstanding vodka distiller was represented there, as they are at most Portland Farmers Markets. Forest Edge Vineyards, a small winery from Forest Grove was also there offering samples and had a variety of their wine for sale. Most bakery items (scones, croissants) were gone by 4:30 but there were breads and cookies still up for grabs. Jams, bbq sauces, fruit juices, chips & salsa, botanical flavored salts, and a few other stands rounded out the goods. Several hot foods available too! Open on Wednesdays from 2-6pm, this is a great little mid-week market. Parking is challenging for those like me who drive here from other areas, but I was able to find a spot. Vendors are all engaging and the entire atmosphere is friendly and neighborly.

Moreland Farmers Market is a homegrown neighborhood-organized farmers market well worth a visit on a sunny Wednesday. Some cities have large central green markets. Portland has the Portland Farmers Market group of 7 markets. The James Beard Market is in planning. But some neighborhoods have organized their own independently, drawing farmers and ready to eat food kitchens. They even have their own, up to date website. Musical performances. All ages friendly. And Captured by Porches serves beer. The Moreland Farmers Market is a small well curated independent farmers market to find fresh ingredients, or to dine out on the spot with neighbors.

I happened to pass by this farmers market and decided to make a quick stop for some fresh goods- a bag of huge apricots and a couple juicy peaches, yum! This is a cute market for locals (lots of happy young families!) with everything from hummus dips to bundles of carrots and fresh salad fixings. The vendors were friendly and I would definitely swing by again if i was in the area! I found free 1 hour parking across the street, but I later saw a sign for their own parking lot. It's a busy, congested street so that may be your best bet.

Yesterday marked the 2015 season opener of the Moreland Farmer's Market. It was a truly quintessential Sellwood event. I am not exaggerating when I claim Sellwood is a village. The MFM is just another shining example of it. When the dog and I strolled up close to 5 pm, the market was jumping, lots of folks out supporting the vendors. And the vendors were plentiful, about 15 or so, hawking everything from veggies to flowers to pastries to wine to... man, I've got to stop; I'm just making myself hungry at this point and dinner feels a long way off yet. Things to note: 1. There's a great selection of seasonal produce, come without a list and instead buy something super fresh and plan a meal around it. 2. Not a cook, not a problem. The high volume of food samples means you can make a meal of a visit. 3. Still hungry? There's hot food being served up from food carts (pizza, crepes, pierogies, and barbecue). 4. The MFM is pet friendly and Sellwood Park is nearby, complete with an off-leash area, for a stellar doggy after-party! 5. You can use your debit card (also Oregon Trail Cards and FDNP checks) to buy market tokens which act like cash at vendor booths. Handy if you're like me and don't often carry cash.

Here's what I am when I go to the Farmers Market: I am an earth mama, toting my canvas bag; hiding my leather wallet. I am super friendly in a I'll-never-see-you-again-and-your-kids-are-just-precious way. I am eating only healthy goodness; conveniently forgetting my recent obsession with the juiciest burger. I am creating fabulous grill related recipes in my head; unfortunately never the La Cuciana Italiana style heretofore dreamed. And alas, the Sellwood Moreland Farmers Market allows me these fancies! Oh and don't I love one man minstrels, and today, a pan flute playing duo of South American origins. Everyone is friendly. The vendors are courteous and answer all my questions. There is a sausage stand and Mexican food stand. But where, oh where, are the tomatoes? Do people grow them around here? And the poor wee strawberries! This crazy spring and summer really screwed our Oregon strawberries. But I love it, every Wednesday. OH! And I got a grip of Walla Walla Sweets!! Happy Day!

I am upping the market to five stars because of all the fantastic berries that were to be found there yesterday. I was in awe of all of them. Loganberries, marionberries, raspberries, blueberries, snozberries, and others.........so many to choose from. So delicious!!!!!!! I picked up some loganberries and some blueberries, both taste so good! Plus, I got lots of other great stuff: fresh basil, red onions, broccoli, shell peas, ranier cherries, nectarine, cucumbers, and other great stuff I just can't think of right now. Really great neighborhood farmers market, woo hoo!

Wonderful farmer's market! Well-organized and great friendly vendors. Today (June. 12th), we were jocking those Mt. Hood strawberries. Vendors were friendly giving detailed specifics about what was good, what the upcoming season looked like, and the deals were flowin' heya! Some real nice hot food vendors like a killer tamale (masa was soft and fluffy like a tempurpedic pillow!), fish n chips looked sinful. Good prep food too like this vegan truflle, oh mama, it was meyer lemon and I ate it and basically buzzed in tantric delight for maybe a minute-forty. The lady offering the sample interrupted about 60 seconds in and I (surprising even myself) shushed her and in a voice not quite my own, mumbled "still tasting it". She nodded and said, yeah I know, people say that to me all the time. I give her one star minus (and infinite shame) for interrupting, but plus one point because, well, 3 hours later, I'm still tasting it.

Parking is a bear no matter when you go, but it's worth it. It's a small market with everything you need. I am a cancer patient so I am often slower, have a hard time negotiating purchases and carrying things. Every vendor is so kind and encouraging. But what I love about this market is that everyone is happy! And that makes me happy when I don't have much to be happy about. Go early if you can and leave the extended hours for those who need to go after work. Well done!

This market is the perfect size with a nice variety of vendors. I have had nothing but delicious produce from all the farms. I go every Wednesday and am always impressed by the quality of the food. Thanks to this outstanding market I no longer buy produce from the super market. I love supporting farmers who genuinely care for what they're growing and have such pride in what they share...Not to mention how much better the food tastes in comparison!

mmmm Watermelon juice! I've been waiting all summer for this! I've visited this market a couple of times to pick up my CSA and I was very impressed. There are lots of great vendors with beautiful organic fruits and veggies. Larger than I expected, Mortland Market is a great place to check out and it's great knowing its there on Wednesdays. Don't forget to stop by the Honey booth(don't remember the name) Incredible fresh honey in a variety of flavors...even honeycomb!

Super, family-friendly Farmers Market. Live entertainment, good food, curated vendors. Lovely way to start Spring!!

This is a nice little farmers market. You can get everything for your meals from local vendors. Everything is reasonably priced. If you forget your cash you can head to the farmers market booth and use your credit card to get tokens to use at the market.

Love this market every Wednesday all spring, summer, and fall! Great vendors, volunteers, music, and kids activities. Check it out!

MY fav market.. in my neigbhorhood, great food and produce and my Nugget loves it!

My home a way from home. I am there every Wednesday. Good vegetables . Berries. Food. Flowers. And so on. Vendors are very friendly. Prices are reasonable. Can't go wrong. Parking is good too.

The produce here is always the freshest I can find in town, and the vendors are so helpful. I've been coached on the best varieties of peaches, how to freeze my produce, and even storage! This is a mostly produce based market, with some meat and snacks. It's small but quality.

I stumbled upon the Moreland Farmers Market in 2016. I was a little too late to get a Free Bicycle Helmet from the Providence Booth that was set up there, but we later bought a Newer Helmet for me.... my Husband took over my Old Bicycle Helmet. :) He used to Ride to work everyday! :) I Donated the Fresh Local Green Beans that I bought to a Very Hungry Man on the Bus, he said he didn't know what he was going to Cook for Dinner, so I told him my Recipe for Steamed Green Beans. :) I think I made his Day, that day. :) I got a Bowl of Ceviche ( it was the Cooked Kind, I was Traveling by Bus that day, and quite a ways, too. ) from one of the GREAT Vendors that was Serving Up Food. On my Second Visit I got a Baked Potato with " The Works " on it... including Real Diced Bacon!!! Yummo! :) I entered a Raffle for a Dance Lesson Series with the Local Ballet Troupe that was there that day. And I also came home with some Really Deeelicious Dark Homemade Chocolates from a Local Vendor. I can't seem to Remember any of the Vendor's Names right now. Oh, well. I'll visit this Farmer's Market again, when I have a Free Afternoon. I LOVE this Type of Fresh Foods Market. I also brought home a Carton of Gelato... it was soooo Deeelicious. It was close to my Husband's and My 9th Wedding Anniversary. And I really like Surprising my husband. He liked both the Flavors that I picked out. I also Bought some Really Great Tasting Ghee there! I put it on top of some Bread and some Homemade Popped Corn that Week. :) I wish I had purchased Two Containers of it, in retrospect. :)
