Google
Beautifully curated donation-based arts center in the heart of Baton Rouge. With a wide variety of art forms and styles tastefully arranged throughout the venue, this foundation is both an enrichment to the community and an excellent stop for tourists. Though I was visiting on behalf of Sunshine Collective Co, I am personally so happy to have decided to stop here. I look forward to my next trip.

A beautiful gallery. Was there for their free first Wednesdays. They also do a good few events throughout the month! Wonderful community space!

No wait, no fees. There are about three decent spaces for art exhibits. Well worth the time to take a visit. The area around is pretty green and quiet for a walk as well.

This contemporary gallery continues to be a place where I enjoy spending my time. The artwork and events are always amazing. The Surreal Salon event was fantastic and the costumes were creative and unforgettable!

A wonderful gem in City Park. City Park really has something for everyone and the art gallery is a fantastic space. Great for events and a central location in town.

Gorgeous venue for weddings and photos. The staff was wonderful and completely on top of everything. This is perfect venue for couples wanting something different from traditional wedding venues.

Yelp
Lovely venue! Set in Baton Rouge's City Park between the Tennis Courts and the golf course, this really packs it in with thoughtful and curated art that changes monthly. The lady working was very friendly and helpful. Free admission, but donations are accepted.

Yelp
Baton Rouge Gallery is a great place for local (and some national) artists to show their pieces. The gallery pieces change about every month, and the First Wednesday (occurring the first Wednesday evening of most months) is free with wine and hors d'oeuvres. You can join their mailing list to ensure the event is happening that month. There are also several other events such as movies on the lawn, music events, and lectures. There is also an annual Surreal Soirée where the crazier the look, the better. You can join the BR Gallery to help fund all these events and get access to special shows. The venue is also a beautiful special events space. I recently attended a wedding there, and staff was very helpful and friendly. The space was perfect with space for dancing and for catering and tables. The outdoor area is lovely, but the Louisiana summer prevented many of us from venturing out there. Parking is available, but it can get a bit busy depending on the event. BR Gallery is located next to the City Park Golf Course and tennis courts, so be sure if the weather allows to explore.

Yelp
Looks like a nice place. Went last weekend for a book reading and wandered around a bit. From what I hear there's a new featured artist every week and it's always free.

Yelp
This gallery sandwiched between a golf course and some tennis courts completes a trifecta of upper-crust entertainment. It is not large; the part of the building with art in it is really just two rooms on one level, with golf carts and such on the other level. However, I enjoyed the art that was there. Apparently it changes frequently, and what I saw was local and fresh. Google maps seems to think people spend two hours here, but I'm not sure what you'd do for two hours. As a brief stop though, it was nice, and I have no doubt that events held on the balcony and surrounding park are well worthwhile.

Yelp
Words cannot begin to describe the Baton Rouge of Contemporary Arts a BREC facility. There is something for everyone, from art camp to wedding rentals. Every first Wednesday of the month, is the gallery's art opening which features three artist art works for the entire month, no admission. In addition, to art openings, is Movies and Music on the Lawn. This unique event, is held at the last Saturday of mounts during the Summer. It features a local band that provides music to a silent film, popcorn is always free; however, admission is $7.00. Overall, I love BRG, and it serve my community very well. Grate investment in tax dollars

Yelp
A gem of a place. My wife and I have been members for several years. What first drew us was Movies & Music on the Lawn: silent movies with live music by local bands, playing music composed specifically for each movie.. It begins in late May. This year it will end in August. The art exhibits usually change on a monthly basis, with the duration of the exhibits determined by the date of the First Wednesday Opening Reception and the take down date before the the next exhibit goes up. Each features are by 3-4 local artists. Every year it has two juried exhibits: Surreal Salon (in January) and Real Life (high school exhibition). Most months it a ARTiculate (a talk by artist about their works on display), usually on the first Sunday after the First Wednesday Opening Reception. BRG also has Sundays @ 4, with when it happens and what is featured varying. We went to a marvelous music performance this past Sunday. My wife and I have been to Movies & Music on the Lawn, the First Wednesday Opening Reception, and Articulate many times and have enjoyed all. Our Experience at the recent Sundays @ 4 wets our appetite to go again. Contrary to one I saw in one other reviewer's remark, this is not for the upper crust.

Yelp
I really was not sure what to expect when I first walked in. It is located in a park, near some tennis courts and a golf course -- definitely a nicer part of town. It is a BREC facility, but it is also a gallery where art can be purchased. When I went, there was a series which featured Peeps, yes the Easter candy that is just a marshmallow covered in sugar. The gallery itself has 2 showrooms and a terrace overlooking the park. They offer a membership with a bunch of different benefits, and they have the space available to rent, though only on Friday and Saturday evenings. While this place is not a museum, it is definitely nice to know that there is another place in Baton Rouge devoted to the arts and promoting local artists (at least I think they are local artists).

Yelp
Great place to have a party, bridal shower, or even a wedding. The place is kind of small but it makes up for a very intimate setting. There is even a balcony. The back of the outside can be used to hold a outside wedding. The price is really reasonable because its a part of BREC.

Yelp
how has this wonderful place not been yelped? anyone jogging or walking by must just stop by for a quick AC + art break. i love the historic br space and they're always bringing in cool, contemporary shows. went there as a kid, during college, and always when i visit BR. i don't always love love the all the art but always really really like at least one of the artists (usually they have a few on show at a time). what i do love love is the concept of a free public gallery that actively brings a wide range contemporary artists in. i also have always experienced pleasant folks that work there. they give free post cards of their shows which i think is pretty great. definitely go check out that back brick labyrinth. OH YES- and don't forget, the movies/music they do http://batonrougegallery.org/pages/movies_music.html- i really wish Austin had more events like this. we had our wedding in the labyrinth with reception on the terrace catered by unique cuisine- spectacular memories at just the price of membership! a steal.
