Where to Find Holiday Cocktails in the Tampa Area | Eater

"When it comes to cocktails, sometimes keeping it simple is best. Take the drinks at Ash, for example. The martini here is tough to top, made with olive oil-washed Ketel One vodka, dry vermouth, and salt. The bright Channel-side Italian spot also has a big outdoor patio and live music on the weekends. It’s an ideal place to stop in after a Sunday morning perusing the Water Street market — put down your shopping bags and kick back with a drink." - Matthew Meltzer

I literally can’t say enough good things about this amazing place. Everyone there is always in such a great mood. You can tell the owners/chef have a very close and great relationship with the staff. The food is absolutely amazing. I personally LOVE the sort of al la carte tasting menu if you will. I love exploring and finding new dishes that I’ve never tried before. I love that I have the opportunity to challenge my taste buds and Chef Alvarez does exactly just that. The service here is 5 star through and through. Thank you very much Ash.

From the moment we stepped through the doors of Ash in downtown Tampa, we were treated as if we were the most important guests in the world. What the staff didn’t know—and what made their kindness even more extraordinary—was that this was a deeply meaningful evening for my daughter and me. She’s about to return to college, and I’m preparing to undergo a complicated treatment and surgery to remove cancer. We needed this dinner to be special—and somehow, they made it unforgettable. Miles and his team didn’t just provide service—they created an experience. Every interaction was warm, attentive, and genuine. We felt truly seen, cared for, and celebrated. And then there was the food. Wow. The dishes were not only beautifully presented but also perfectly composed. Every flavor felt intentional, from the surprising delight of the artichokes to the incredibly crafted pastas that were unlike anything we’ve had before. Unique yet comforting, elevated but deeply satisfying—every bite told a story. We came to Ash hoping for a special night, and left with something far more profound: a lasting memory of joy, warmth, and beauty during a time when we needed it most. Thank you, Miles. Thank you, Ash. You gave us a gift we will always carry with us.

If I could leave more than five stars, I would. Our experience here was nothing short than fabulous. The drinks were incredible, the food was nothing short of a culinary experience. I just traveled in Italy for two weeks, eating at 5 different Michelin guide + star Restaurants, and dare I say my experience at Ash was better than all of them combined. The head Chef, Seth made our experience unforgettable. We will be back with our friends and loved ones!!

If you’re looking for a perfect night in Tampa, it starts at Ash. The vibe, the atmosphere, the food, and the staff were all absolute perfection. This is one of those places where you can feel how much time, effort, and passion went into making it what it is. I honestly can’t brag enough. The food was fantastic from start to finish. We kicked things off with the Oysters (literally listed as “Oysters” on the menu) and wow… 10/10. If you’ve never been an oyster person, you will be after this. They were fresh, briny, and perfectly dressed – an instant favorite. Then came the fried rabbit, and let me tell you — unbelievable. I would go back for that dish alone. The way they took a protein like rabbit and turned it into something so flavorful, so crispy, and so memorable blew my mind. Add the hot honey and it became next-level. This is a dish I recommend 100% without hesitation. From there, we moved on to the pork and pasta, and again, absolutely incredible. The pork was tender and flavorful, perfectly paired with the feta, and the pasta was rich and comforting without being heavy. Every bite felt like it was crafted with intention. Ash is one of those rare spots where everything hits. From the drinks to the food to the service (shoutout to Taylor, who crushed it all night), it’s a full experience, not just dinner. Tampa needed this, and I’m already counting down the days until I can go back. The staff was absolutely amazing. I can’t give enough stars. Amazing.

Google
Great service, greeted very nicely by the hosts and even though we didn’t have a reservation, they were able to get us a seat within 10 minutes. Highly recommend the fried rabbit, super crispy and flavorful, also got one of the creamy white bean pastas. My friend and I both got one cocktail and split the fried rabbit and a pasta and the bill was $48. The food came out quickly and the service was great.

Google
going into this reservation i was a bit hesitant. most of the water st restaurants/bars are wash, rinse, repeat - all the same concept/crowd. i was genuinely impressed with the service. we went for my bf’s birthday we were greeted with an amuse bouche made vegetarian especially for me! they gave him a birthday card at the end of the meal it was so sweet and thoughtful!! table was consistently cleaned throughout the meal. we were told portions were “small to medium” but were definitely more than enough!! drinks were very delicious and had great presentation. in my opinion better than tampa’s tried and true rocca.

Google
Amazing food, amazing drinks, amazing service, amazing aesthetic. The Ash and Alter Ego one two punch is a testament to Water Street’s best dining, drink spots, & aesthetic. Ash elevates the local Tampa food scene, would highly recommend the Cavatelli pasta. Drinks were amazing as well, Gigi was a top notch bartender.

Google
I don’t understand the rave reviews. I had high hopes for this restaurant, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t justify the price. For $85, I expected a high quality porterhouse, but what I got was a cut smothered in chimichurri sauce which felt like an attempt to mask the quality of the meat. Even the bread, which should be a simple pleasure, was overly salty and unappealing. The wine list was meh. And they were out of champagne. Overall, the food just didn’t match the price point. The restaurant is clearly leaning into the atmosphere to dictate their pricing and yet that was a miss too. I expected something memorable and instead, it was a forgettable meal. I won’t be returning.

Yelp
My wife and I go to a lot of restaurants, but Ash? This place knows what it's doing. Our server Lily was fantastic. We both ordered espresso martinis. I decided to switch things up with bourbon while my wife went with the traditional vodka. Both drinks were perfectly balanced and honestly set the tone for what turned out to be an exceptional evening. The crispy artichokes had me questioning why I don't eat more vegetables. Perfectly crunchy outside, tender inside - they've basically solved the artichoke puzzle. The beef tartare was simple and fresh. Then comes this focaccia, still warm from the oven, making everyone at nearby tables jealous. The red snapper was so fresh it probably didn't even know it was dinner yet, and the strozzapreti with wagyu beef cheeks? Pure genius on a plate. We finished with the marzipan sundae - macerated strawberries, amaretto cookies, and at this point I'm convinced they're just showing off their skills. But here's where it gets next level - they made my wife a congratulations card for her new job and had the entire staff sign it. I mean, who does that? It's the kind of thoughtful gesture that makes you realize you're not just eating at a restaurant, you're experiencing genuine hospitality. Bottom line is Ash delivers on every level. Great food, great service, and the kind of personal touches that turn a good dinner into an unforgettable night. What can I say except, "You're Welcome. "

Yelp
I am coming out of yelp retirement. I lost my 9 year yelp elite status in 2023 becauae of pure laziness. I haven't written a review in years. It has been ages. Ash literally made me re-download the app so I can share this delicious goodness with you all. Yes, you heard it here first. I am out of retirement and it is because the food at Ash is so great I have to tell everyone about it. So, let's begin. Okay errbody, grab a seat and put your brightness up. Ambiance and vibes: Ash is a BEAUTIFUL restaurant. Small, cozy, great for an impressive first date. If it's a third or fifth date, go to Ash first, get tipsy, then head to alter ego (its right next door). Girlies, wear your heels (you can go in shorts we dont discriminate). Wear your black top and jeans (iykyk) and get your drinks because this place is cute cute) Food: The food is amazing. We took my in laws and we ate so much for such a great price. It is family style so basically share everything and that is what I recommend you do. We ordered one to two dishes of each part of the menu and two desserts. 4 drinks and the bill was STILL under $400!!!! We started with the raw oysters, yum. Then we went with crispy artichokes (dish 1) and fried rabbit (dish 2). ORDER THEM!!!! YOU MUST GET THE ARTICHOKE AND RABBIT, I BEG YOU. phew let me calm down. Im demure. Im mindful. Im a classy bitch. Ok back to food. Then we ordered the MKT fish and Wagyu Picanha- perfecto. The meat was perfect. For pastas we ordered Mafalde and the Tonnarelli AND get the foccaccia NOW with the pasta so you can dip the bread in the pasta sauce (carbs on carbs on carbs) sooooo good. Oh I forgot to mention earlier that my mother in law loved the artichokes so much she ordered them TWICE yeah. First time this has ever happened to us in a restaurant. Get the artichokes, K? K. For dessert we ordered the marzipan sundae and the secret menu item (panna cotta) do both. Really. Do it. You will thank me. Okay overall 10/10 and I have to thank two very important people. 1. The server at Noble Rice that recommended Ash to us. You know who you are and I thank you for knowing us so well you recommended Ash. 2. Our server for the night Maya, Maya was so knowledgeable and kind. Someone who genuinely knows what she is doing and made our whole experience wonderful We will be back and I do hope this review helped direct business their way. They know their food and what they do with artichokes is criminally delicious.

Yelp
Yet another excellent restaurant in the Water Street area! Ash is an intimate space, perfect for small gatherings. Service is very good, with very friendly servers that give some great suggestions. The food is good as well. Love the plating and the creativity. The standout item for me might have to be the Anchovy Avocado Toast. Love the crispy bread, and the addition of the anchovy is so unexpected. But it brings an additional layer of savory and umami that a normal avocado toast will not have, all while not being fishy or off-putting. Really great job and great place that I will come back to :)

Yelp
Went here for a friend's birthday this past weekend. The ambiance as well as the service was great. Our waiter was an expert on every single one of the dishes we asked about and gave great recommendations. I had the focaccia and the garlic prawn scampi. The focaccia was delicious, as well as the whipped ricotta that came on the side! The prawns were to die for, though I was disappointed that only 3 came in the dish. I was expecting there to be a few more as they weren't listed under the small plates section. My friends were brave and tried the fried rabbit. They had nothing but good things to say about it. I wasn't a huge fan of it but I'd definitely be open to trying again! Overall, it was a good experience and I will visit again.

Yelp
Lots of pros for this restaurant for sure. We were pleasantly surprised to see a sighting of Chef Alvarez from Rooster. Beautifully decorated, and nice lighting from all the windows. The beef tartare was probably one of the best I've had, and the drinks were unique and amazing. I think the only real complaints I had, was that the sauce on the fresh oysters was too lemongrass forward which made it bitter, and the servers literally came over five times asking to clear our plates when it was obvious we were still enjoying our focaccia bread and oil. Overall great experience and will come back for sure.

Yelp
Ash is a beautiful little spot to visit with your friends or loved one for a date night. The atmosphere was pretty chill and relaxing. The seating was spacious and the server was very nice, making recommendations as it was our first time. We enjoyed the drinks which were reasonably priced and the food which was flavorful and played beautifully as you can see. The restaurant wasn't too crowded either so that helped with the noise volume. Would certainly recommend checking this spot out.

Yelp
We had Ash over the weekend and thought the food was unique and delicious! The fried artichokes were our FAVORITE of the night. Flavors were perfectly balanced and the artichokes had a nice crispiness to them. (ate them before we could get a picture haha) Focaccia is delicious and springy and the whipped ricotta with herb oil went with it deliciously! Wagyu pasta was very good. Pasta is clearly fresh and made in house! Nice and savory. Organic chicken dish was done very well, maybe slightly salty for me. The skin was crisp and the mushrooms and creamed polenta blended nicely with chicken!

Yelp
We had an incredible, 5 star dining experience at Ash! I came with a party of 6 and we split many different small plates - everything was excellent! The Jet Plane cocktail was outstanding. Also highly recommend the beef tartare, focaccia, crispy artichokes, and all the pastas. Our server April was fantastic and took care of our large party with grace and kindness. Overall a must stop on water street for an awesome meal. The atmosphere is so cute and trendy which is such a bonus!

Yelp
Have been to Ash a couple times now and each time has been a very pleasant experience; highly trained staff as well as incredibly delicious food with a very complex and interesting flavors. If you are ever downtown in Tampa, you should 100% stop by.

Yelp
The food was awesome! The wine and cocktail menu is great. Highly suggest to sit at the bar if it's just two the bartender was super friendly. The fried rabbit, liver mousse toast and tonnarelli pasta were delicious. It'd you love rooster and till you'll love this place

Yelp
I was really happy I chose this place for my birthday. If you're looking for a cute/classy/mellow place with a unique menu, this is the spot. (Might not be as mellow on the weekend) I approve of everything we had! It was so cool trying rabbit for the first time- intimidating at first, but it tasted like an extra flavorful chicken. I got the conchiglie pasta and the flavor was immaculate- very filling for me but it you're a heavy eater you might need something else to hold you over. Paired it with a rich Italian wine from their menu- highly recommend Last but not least our server McKenzie was on point!! He described the menu to a tea- we were all fascinated by how good he was at giving us such detailed descriptions. Overall 10/10 place!!
google avatar

Katrina M.

Yelp
Bartenders know how to make a drink, especially if certain drink options aren't your cup of tea! I a was made a tequila based drink of sweet goodness! Food wise, please get the fried rabbit for your small plate, the focaccia if you're a big back like me, and enjoy bread, and for an entree, I thoroughly enjoyed wagyu hanger steak. Ambiance is giving light, cutesy, and casual yet classy! Give them a try, por favor
google avatar

Stephanie V.

Yelp
While I was in Tampa visiting friends the four of us decided to eat at Ash. I agree with others that the fried rabbit was awesome. Although we were unsure what the white foam was? Maybe didn't catch it on the menu? Otherwise, everything was not bad at all just kind of pricy for being tapas. I would have liked the bruschetta (pictured) to be cut into 4 pieces for a more bite sized approach but the bread was perfect. Pro-tip: some items are 3 pieces, some are 1 (ravioli) and some are 2 (bruschetta) so be sure to check with the server!
google avatar

Emi B.

Yelp
Very cute spot, friendly staff. Fried Rabbit - tasty, just like chicken wing though, came with gorgonzola dipping foam which was interesting. Bourbon Grapefruit/Yuzu cocktail also pretty good. Would recommend!

Yelp
What drew my friends and me here was the unique menu offered. We did family-style sharing with all of the dishes ordered so we could try a little of everything. We ordered quite the variety and some items were a hit, others were not. The beef tartare and the fried rabbit were definitely my favorite! And the wagyu hanger steak was quite delicious. The pork chop arrived to us undercooked (lots of pink in the middle) and we had to send it back to the kitchen unfortunately. The pasta tasted average and especially with the portions, I could've done without them. The restaurant has a beautiful interior, I enjoyed sitting by the tree very much. The service is top notch with the constant utensil switch-out and they managed the mishap with the pork chop dish well. I had a wonderful time here at the end of the day.

Yelp
Came in excited since I love Rooster & the Till, and the space here is gorgeous. The menu looked promising, so I brought a friend from out of town to show off Tampa's food scene. Unfortunately, the execution didn't match the hype. Out of six dishes, half fell flat, and for the price point, that stings. The wins: a killer Espresso Martini (hands down the best I've had in Tampa), a fresh and tasty Market Fish (red grouper), and some surprisingly delicious Fried Rabbit. Service was also top notch, friendly, attentive, and on point. The flops: the Focaccia was a salt bomb, the Mafalde was salty and one note, and the Strozzapreti was salty as well and just a no go on flavor. Gorgeous presentation, but pretty plates do not always equal great food. Bottom line: cocktails and vibes are worth a visit, but I left wishing I had impressed my guest somewhere else for dinner.
google avatar

Mona R.

Yelp
The aesthetic was perfect! The music was surprisingly my vibe, sang everyone that played! I was skeptical from the menu at first but once the dishes started coming out, I easily started finding my favorites! The servers were friendly and kept us laughing. Would recommend and come back
google avatar

Rhonda F.

Yelp
Great drinks, bartenders definitely know how to mix 'em. The bartenders did an excellent job keeping everyone's drinks topped off. A little out of the way location but well worth the trip for a good time. Clean, semi upscale and right by Amelie Arena. Great place to stop before or after an event for cocktails and a light bite.
google avatar

Yelp
Another great spot in Tampa! I will say that our group made a mistake and we chose to get dinner on a night when the Lightning were in town. Shame on us because parking was ridiculous but it was totally our fault. We started off with 2 types of the bread, the oysters and the fried rabbit. I'm surprised that the rabbit is their go-to dish. None of us were impressed. For entrees we did the cavatelli, the Wagyu steak and the triple tail. I thought they were all great. Our server was Maya and she was also fantastic. She was great at answering questions and letting us know about each dish.

Yelp
We were very excited to try this place. It's a beautiful space, the server was friendly. Now to why we came- the food. We tried almost the whole menu (which is very limited). We tried the focaccia, rabbit, pasta, artichokes, crudo, scallops and salad. All six of us were pretty shocked and disappointed when dish after dish, the food was basically flavorless sometimes really not good. The portions are ridiculously small and prices are at the top $$$ We were so disappointed that we didn't even want to try the desserts. We were still hungry when we left and went to another place to eat something else. Unfortunately a pretty space is not enough to keep customers coming in.

Yelp
So, I will say that I was excited to try Ash because of all the great reviews on Yelp and Google, but this is the first time in a long time that I felt like the restaurant really failed to deliver. I was in town for AP Reading and came to Ash with two of my good friends. The restaurant was well lit and well decorated. It just so happened to also be Father's Day and they had some special items on the menu. Our server definitely tried to push the items on that menu, which is fine. When we asked her for recommendations, she provided a few. When we asked about some seafood options, her response was that she didn't seafood and so she wouldn't know. Now, I know people have different tastes, but as a server, I think the right response would have been that she hasn't tried the dish personally but have heard this from people who have ordered the dish before. It definitely shouldn't be something that can be construed as negative. She also pushed for the steak dish on the special menu that was way more expensive than the steak option on the regular menu, insisting that it was a great dish and that she liked it better than the regular steak option. So, I ordered the snapper crisp to share and my friend ordered a starter as her main course. We were catching up and talking with each other and our server never checked on us. After about almost 30 minutes she finally came by and we were asking about the main dishes that we had ordered. She then told us the she was waiting for us to finish our starters before bringing out the main dishes. I just thought. Wow. You should have told us that you'd bring out the mains after we finish the starters, which she never did when we were first served. Anyway, then came our mains. My other friend ordered the chicken dish, which she said was delicious. My special steak, on the other hand, was quite bad even though it may look delicious in the picture. It was not even lukewarm when it was served, and she never asked me how I like my steak cooked in the first place and it was definitely leaning towards the rare side. It was also just a bad piece of steak with lots of grizzles and fat (and I don't mean the good kind on a well-marbled steak). I thought about sending it back to the kitchen, but by that point I really just wanted to leave because the service and the food were both so disappointing. I also felt a little bad since I had suggested Ash to my friends. I do hope that this was just an aberration, but it definitely is not an experience I want to have again.

Yelp
Tried their summer tasting menu 1 white anchovy toast hiramasa crudo oysters: pickles for a refreshing twist 2 stracciatella: mozzarella with mushrooms and seasonal fruits (peach and plum this time). overall great 3 pork cutlet katsu: crispy, tender pork with a crunchy, mildly spicy salad dressing. the added burnt rapini are a nice touch 4 rabbit: crispy, tender rabbit with chili honey glaze, paired with whipped cambozola cheese scallops risotto 5 casarecce: rich with wagyu cheek, hazelnuts, and a hint of chili conchiglie 6 caramelia namelaka: caramel base with pineapple, maple cream, and pistachio crumbles. sweet, but a solid end to the meal

Yelp
Beautiful place minutes from the Amelie Arena. We had a show to watch and came here before. The event. We had to make a reservation. Parking is tricky so make sure you leave some time to find parking, especially if event is happening. Service was very nice and attentive. We got very good service and care. Ambiance is very modern and chic. They say they are Italian fusion, but I am not sure about that. It seems more as "new American" to me. We had stracciatella (grilled mushroom and persimmon toast) and fried rabbit to start. Both dishes were unique and very tasty. For the main, I had scallops and my husband had conchiglie. Again dishes were very good, unique and flavorful. They had a great selection of wines as well as non alcoholic drinks. For the dessert we had some type of ice cream that was absolutely delicious. Overall a pretty good experience! It is pricey and plates are small, so you have to order a decent amount of dishes.

Yelp
This was an incredible meal! The ambiance was great. The food was excellent. Everything we ate was amazing. Romantic atmosphere and good for fun night out. Service was excellent. All of the food we ate was a unique combination of flavors and textures and beautifully and deliciously prepared.

Yelp
My wife and I dined here for Valentine's Day. I'll preface by saying that I'm often a bit critical of Valentine's Day prefix menus. My opinion is that they are usually overpriced with small portions. Atmosphere: The restaurant feels upscale, clean and inviting. A nice setting for a romantic date or a small group celebration. There is comfy seating and even booth-like, bench seating. We had outdoor seating which was fine with decent weather. The only complaint was that Alter Ego's music was a bit loud while trying to converse. Food: They had a 5-course menu for Valentines Day. It was all tasty. There was noticeable attention paid to the textures of each dish. All of which featured soft, firm, smooth, and crunchy/crispy elements. The Wagyu Tartare was very good. The beets were also nice. This was my first time having foie gras and I was pleasantly surprised. The Carbonara was good but a bit too salty. We finished it though since it was the "heaviest" thing on the menu. The lobster tail (only half a tail) and ratatouille were very good, but we weren't fans of the tomatoes on that dish. Last was the pear dessert. It was yummy! Wish there was more. Overall, the food was very good! Albeit PRICEY! Drinks: We opted out on the wine pairing, and instead made our own selections. I chose the "Big Bold and Silky" wine flight. As some who isn't a connoisseur of wines, i found it to be good, not great. Service: Be prepared for an added 20% service charge. Our Server was Mackenzie and he was great. Very knowledgeable, professional, and observant. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant. I will have to come back and try the normal menu.

Yelp
All went well at this place. Nice decoration, polite and very knowledgeable staff, good and tasty food. Well spent evening in a nice atmosphere.

Yelp
Came here for a friends birthday and it was lovely!! I loved the vibes, nice and dim interior, not too loud and not too busy. We also came on a wednesday. they had very unique dishes and i tried something i never thought i would... fried rabbit!!! the wagyu pasta was delicious and so flavorful, as well as the conchiglie. decent portions, and lots of flavor. our servers were also very knowledgeable about each of the dishes, i almost thought they made it themselves . i would definitely come back here and pay a visit to alter ego as well.

Yelp
We decided to have dinner at Ash during our time at a conference. It was an easy walk from the area. We started with the fried artichokes. Very delicious. We also enjoyed the focaccia bread with olive oil and ricotta. Our server was very kind and helped us make some good decisions. The menu is somewhat limited however, all dishes are quite delicious. I enjoyed a perfect portion of pasta and a delightful Paloma. The restaurant is beautiful and service is top-notch. We also had a banana dessert and the Affogato.
google avatar

Jenn L.

Yelp
My second review and some dishes were better than others. I actually enjoyed the crispy artichokes which is a must! I would order this again. I did enjoy both pasta dishes but the portions were pretty small. I was not crazy about the focaccia and the fired rabbit. It would skip it. Don't remember the name of the dessert but it was SO good. It had some cookie crumble, strawberries and ice cream. What I ordered: - Focaccia - Crispy artichokes - Fried Rabbit - Girasole 'Ravioli' - Casarecce - Strawberry dessert

Yelp
Another amazing foodie experience, brought to you by the brains behind The Rooster & The Till, Ash is now open just off Water Street. We have been watching and waiting and were so excited to get a reservation at Ash. Our table decided to partake in the tasting menu and were so happy we did. The kitchen did a phenomenal job accommodating my weird ass allergies and I am forever grateful. We parked in the Cumberland Garage and took a short walk to the restaurant, tucked behind the Edison hotel. Each bite and morsel was delightfully tasty and plating was a feast for the eyes. My favorite bites were the Anchovy toast snack and the scallops, which absolutely melted in my mouth. We ordered many beverages and loved them. I got the House Martini- DIVINE. Then I got the Gibson. This drink was one of the most memorable things I've ever consumed and not for the faint of heart. But everyone at my table loved it. It was oniony and savory and just- - wow. Our server Savannah was delightful, as were the other folks who bussed and cleared and gave round after round of fresh flatware. Every fork, glass, knife and plate was impeccably clean. My only suggestion would be on the dessert. It tasted delicious. It was not visually appealing. At all. It really needed a vehicle, a tart shell, a phyllo square or a cookie or something. A blob of brown and white pile in a bowl does not a dessert make, guys. Definitely a weak finish for an otherwise phenomenal meal. Love you, though. Mean it. But, besides that blip, the meal was a smorgasbord of flavors and textures. We all left comfortably full, but not bursting. Our palates got a hell of a journey and we look forward to returning!

Yelp
Reply to the business owner: the server never told us we need to get 2-3 dishes each to not still be starved at the end of the meal. We had no idea what would've been a good amount. Big disappointment and a no from us. Service was so bad, it seemed like somehow our server was trying to avoid us after introducing the menu. Food portion was so tiny that after $300 before tips we left feeling hungry still (girls and boys). Drinks are average $20 a pop, and some of the dishes were just ridiculously small like 5 pieces of fried artichoke for $20? Scallops risotto was one Scallops cut in pieces and risotto didn't even cover the surface of the small plate/bowl? On top of that parking is $15. Would not go back.

Yelp
We are big fans of Rooster & Till and Ash does not disappoint. It's a very unassuming restaurant nestled in the alley street directly behind The Edition Hotel in Tampa and kitty-corner to Yard House. In terms of food, the menu is very exciting. We tried several dishes: - Red Gem Lettuces - Crispy Artichokes - Fried Rabbit - Girasole Ravioli - Flounder Francese Everything was so freaking tasty resulting in non-stop flavor explosions in our mouths. The level of freshness really shined through. I also love that the menu and food is very different than the other restaurants in Tampa. It's a welcome diversion and change-up. Despite being a new restaurant, the service was good. The staff is still getting to know the menu, but that is to be expected. I love the wine list....they have one of the best offerings of Burgundy in Tampa. The vibes are definitely more laid back than other restaurants on Water Street, which is much appreciated. Definitely check it out as well as Alter Ego next door.

Yelp
Exceptional meal at one of Ferrell Alvarez latest creations in downtown Tampa. What an incredible dining experience at Ash! From the moment we arrived, the greeting, service, and ambiance were top-notch. The cocktails were perfectly crafted, and the wine flights complemented each course beautifully. Speaking of which, every dish was exceptional, both in flavor and presentation. We ate it all and it was amazing! Maya, our server, was attentive and personable, and Chef Farrell went above and beyond to make sure we had an unforgettable meal. Truly a five-star experience--highly recommend! Yelp
We loved the vibe here, the interior architecture is gorgeous and unique. The food was good, not great. The service was quite slow. I would definitely come back for drinks and apps but I probably wouldn't stay for an entire meal again. We waited at least an hour and a half, if not two, for our main course to come out.

Yelp
As big fans of Rooster and the till, we were very excited to try Ash. It's a beautiful restaurant, more laid back elegance than we expected for Water Street (but definitely a good thing since a lot of places are wayyy tooo stuffy on Water St). The entire menu sounded delicious and is seasonal. Service was great, cocktail and wine list looked amazing (couldn't partake). They also have a great mocktail list. In terms of the food, everything is shareable and fairly priced for the area/ambience. Highlight / must get: the fried rabbit stood out for us. Could have done without the blue cheese foam dip, the rabbit was perfectly fried and flavorful on its own. The pasta dishes were surprisingly a let down for us. Not very flavorful, they were good but missing umami. The ravioli dish was beautiful but tasted like puree broccoli. It was definitely missing a salty component. The ravioli shells were cooked perfectly. The panna cotta was a very unique ending since you get hints of cauliflower/white chocolate and the texture was similar to Asian soft tofu dessert (if you have ever had it). It could have used a sweeter topping since the panna cotta was silky, the grapefruit was too sour/tart and ruined the delicate panna cotta. Overall exciting ingredients but dishes need a little umami kick. Would come back to see their evolution but solid addition to water street.

Yelp
From the moment we stepped through the doors of Ash in downtown Tampa, we were treated as if we were the most important guests in the world. What the staff didn't know--and what made their kindness even more extraordinary--was that this was a deeply meaningful evening for my daughter and me. She's about to return to college, and I'm preparing to undergo a complicated treatment and surgery to remove cancer. We needed this dinner to be special--and somehow, they made it unforgettable. Miles and his team didn't just provide service--they created an experience. Every interaction was warm, attentive, and genuine. We felt truly seen, cared for, and celebrated. And then there was the food. Wow. The dishes were not only beautifully presented but also perfectly composed. Every flavor felt intentional, from the surprising delight of the artichokes to the incredibly crafted pastas that were unlike anything we've had before. Unique yet comforting, elevated but deeply satisfying--every bite told a story. We came to Ash hoping for a special night, and left with something far more profound: a lasting memory of joy, warmth, and beauty during a time when we needed it most. Thank you, Miles. Thank you, Ash. You gave us a gift we will always carry with us.

Yelp
Another winner from the dudes at Proper House Group! Ash is centrally located, conveniently near Amalie Arena and Water Street. Nestled behind Edition, it's the perfect spot to start a night downtown. The decor and vibes are outstanding. Hip, vibrant, and welcoming, you'll know right away that you're in the ideal spot. Simona, bartender and server, was exceptional. Made strong recommendations for drink and food. Her demeanor and attitude, along with menu knowledge, definitely enhanced our experience. We had crispy artichokes, which were spectacular. Stracchiatella provided a sublime beginning to our meal. We split the Wagyu hanger steak, cooked to a medium-rare perfection. Delicious. Many around us enjoyed the rabbit, but we weren't quite bold enough. Maybe next time! The Caramelia Namelaka was one of the best desserts we've ever had. It is a must-order. All in all, it was a phenomenal experience and we can't wait to go back! Bonus: it's right next door to the über-chic Alter Ego!

Yelp
The first impression Ash gives you is a beautiful space with friendly service. However, that's not enough to keep customers coming back. The menu is extremely limited with shockingly high prices (even for the Water Street area). We were told that the suggested way of ordering was to share every dish, but not sure how that's possible when every single dish we tried was small and only offered a few bites. The final straw for us was that not a single dish had any flavor. What's the point of spending all this money on food that has no flavor? I hate to say it but for all these reasons, Ash is the worst restaurant in Tampa right now.

Yelp
Gorgeous restaurant, the service outstanding, and a unique dining experience for Tampa. The only reason it's not five stars is because it's definitely for a refined palette and I just wanted some familiar tastes. An example would be the dirty martini that used olive oil instead of olive juice or the scallops that had a hint of something pungent and an unfamiliar flavor. We couldn't figure it out, but it was too much for us. The rigatoni was simply delicious as was the artichoke. The stracciatella and crudo were also great with complex flavors we could handle :)

Yelp
Good but not great. Happy hour is a must! Prices are significantly great! Bar is fabulous. Service is best.

Yelp
We had a business dinner for 3 here. The service was very well organized and helpful. The drinks were a blood orange spritz and very refreshing. The small plates and entrees were nicely prepared and had good flavors. We did not have room for desert. The ceilings in the dining room are high and there are a lot of hard surfaces in the decor so it is a bit loud when crowded.

Yelp
What a lovely addition to Channelside! Can't say enough good things about Ash. First, focaccia was fire. The crispy artichokes were divine. Asparagus were delicious, just too few! For entrees, the casarecce (pasta) hit the spot. Pork chop milanese was the star of the show. I loved all the small plates because it's easy to share among the table. Atmosphere is modern and cute. If in any doubt about coming here, give it a shot, sit at the bar with a cocktail and order the focaccia!!

Yelp
5 star experience here every time! Being from the same group as Rooster and the Till, I had high hopes for this place, and was not disappointed. I would recommend anything really, but the anchovy toast and beef tartare are definitely worth a trip in. Service is always excellent; the staff is welcoming and very knowledgeable about the menu. The soft colors of the interior give it a classy, but not overly formal, feel. Just beware that parking can be a problem here, as it is for any Water Street spot, so plan accordingly!

Yelp
It's a fly by nighter type restaurant. There were no prices on the menu or website when we went a month ago. Waiter told us to select one dish from each section, ok. The appetizers and pasta were ok, ordered the steak and asked the waiter if I could have mashed potato's and he said the chef 99.9% won't do it, came back after asking and said no mashed potatoes. WTF! Drinks were good, got the bill and it was $85 for a steak with FAT and grizzle everywhere and this clown won't give me a scoop of mashed potatoes?!?!? FOH with that bs. Hope you're not stopping at Wendy's after we did, you'll be starving when you're done.

Yelp
Last Thursday, we went to celebrate one of my friends at Ash. We had a wonderful dining experience. The place is beautifully decorated, and our server was excellent. The drinks were amazing. I selected the scallops as an appetizer. They were so tender and flavorful, and the carrots puree was so good. I didn't really care for my casarece. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. I am adding Ash to my favorite places and will definitely come back for more.

Yelp
We tried Ash recently for dinner. We were seated at our table right away. I loved how sweet and welcoming the hostesses were that evening. Elijah was our server, and he did an excellent job! He described the different menu options and shared his favorites. Our food came out promptly and each dish was a beautiful presentation! My only suggestion is that the Spritz my friend and I ordered was overpowered by the Aperol. You couldn't taste anything else in the cocktail, and I love Aperol Spritzes. We asked to add more Prosecco to help the drink, and he was upfront and told us he would have to charge for it. I would have loved to be offered another drink suggestion or a replacement. So please keep that in mind if you don't like your cocktail.
