"Located on the Upper West Side, it scores 6.8 on that heatmap produced by the A.I. model." - Melissa McCart

"Sarabeth’s started out as a bakery in Chelsea Market in the 80s, where owner Sarabeth Levine perfected cookies, scones, and cakes (with unabashed amounts of sugar, flour, and butter). After she became legendary, she opened Sarabeth’s and basically launched the craze that is weekend Brunch. Years later, it’s still hard to get a breakfast reservation at any of her roomy, all-American, restaurants, but it’s so worth it for luscious pancakes and french toast, not to mention ideal omelettes. There are additional locations in the Upper East Side, Midtown, Gramercy, and Tribeca."

"After shuttering its decades-old Upper East Side location earlier in the pandemic and prompting concerns about its other NYC sites, Sarabeth’s is reported to be finally reopening its Upper West Side location this week." - Luke Fortney

"I learned that more information has emerged about the man who somehow ended up in the walk-in freezer at Sarabeth’s on the Upper West Side: he reportedly began swinging a knife at staff and later died at the hospital. Reportedly the man was Carlton Henderson, who was facing murder charges of two Boston men and was out on bail. It remains unknown how he ended up in NYC and at Sarabeth’s, though it has come out that he died of a heart attack. Sarabeth’s issued a statement saying it’s back open and grateful that none of its employees or guests were hurt." - Stefanie Tuder
