Chili Thai Downtown Tacoma

Great service and awesome food. The chicken pad Thai was plentiful and had a lot of chicken. Tried both kinds of spring rolls on two different nights and they were great. It's a shame that I don't live in the area or I'd be a constant customer!

The food was delicious, some of the best Thai food I’ve had in Washington. I got the sweet and sour chicken, it was the perfect balance of sweet, sour, and mildly spicy. The chicken was tender and the vegetables were perfectly cooked. My wife got the PadThai and it was equally amazing. The service was fast, after we ordered it only took about 10 minutes for all of our appetizers to arrive and probably about an 15 for both of our entrees. If you’re ever in this area of Tacoma I highly encourage you to try it out.

The sweet and sour chicken was so good and such a great lunch price (sit in only) tasted great and server was so nice. Ive had the fresh rolls before and they’re pretty good too!

We love to try Thai restaurants when we travel. We chose this place for the high reviews and were not disappointed! We started with the papaya salad which was the star of the show! They were able to make it minus the shrimp and it was delightful! We ordered it 3 star and it was the perfect amount of heat! Next up we ordered Basil Fried Rice and the Mushroom dish. Both had decent flavor but I do wish the rice had more veggies ( which is why we did 4 not 5 star review). Our waiter was super nice. Very helpful and thoughtful. He overheard that it was our anniversary and they gifted us a mango sticky rice for dessert! I've never been a fan but my husband loved it! A very good, quality choice for Thai. The prices were also very reasonable which can be a challenge. We bought more food than we usually do and our meal was still under $50 before tip. If we lived here this would be a place we would come on a regular basis!

I always get takeout here because I'm in a rush at dinner time. The food is always fantastic and ready to go when I get there (mostly because it takes forever to find a parking spot)! Every time I get the chicken curry because it is to die for! Be careful of the spice level , though they are very generous with the heat.

Having worked in the restaurant industry as a family business for over 15 years, I am not what one would consider “easy to please.” I also appreciate restaurants that give their customers a good value for what they spend. I’ve been traveling between Seattle and Tacoma for the past four days, and this was certainly one of the best meals that I had. The owner was friendly, gave me service with a smile, attended to my every need and, perhaps most importantly, gave me excellent food at a more than fair price. Chili is not a fancy place. It is somewhere between what I would call average dining experience and a hole in the wall from looking at it from the outside. What you receive once you cross the threshold is five star service, delicious, fresh food. (try the red curry salmon. Really. It was unbelievable.) And price that is almost comically low compared to other restaurants in the area. Great place for families. They offer every dish at your own level choice of spiciness (0 to 5). And, again, do everything with a fantastic attitude and a constant smile. I will certainly be back.

Amazing place! Friendly staff and clean/modern vibe. The flowers on the table were all real and all the food we tried was fresh and flavorful. Great prices, Highly recommend. Even had a great beer and wine selection.

The spicy noodle (pad see ew variant) was delicious! We were greeted promptly and checked in with regularly, it was a very comfortable place to have dinner with a friend before going to a show. I'd gladly come back!

I stayed at a nearby hotel and decided to give this place a try. When we entered, we were greeted and seated immediately. They have a decent size menu and also serve wine/beer. FOOD 10/10. I got the traditional chicken pad thai, spice level 2. It was flavorful and wasn't too spicy (i could've went up to 3) but very good. My boyfriend got the drunken beef with steamed rice, and it was delicious! Very bold flavors and goes perfectly with the steamed rice. We also got springs rolls and they were good with the chili sauce. Overall, I would definitely recommend coming here for some delicious authentic Thai Food. Their service was great as well!

Needed some good Thai food and I saw this on the map. Walked in and the place was nice and clean, nice light jazz going on in the background. Came around 1pm on a Friday, not too busy so I was immediately sat down. They came quick with water and a menu and shortly after a little soup which was tasty, little salty but good. I looked at the lunch specials and they had a good amount of options but went with the Hot Basil Beef and got spice level 3. I believe the ratings 1-5 and 5 being the hottest. 3 is perfect for me, enough kick but not enough to make me sweat haha. Anyways, great price for the quality of food. Definitely recommend coming here. Thanks Chili Thai!

Super quick service and really good Thai food! Idk what the Tacoma scene usually is but gathering from what I see around me it's more craft beer and bar, making this yummy Thai spot even more legit. Had some warm Khao Soi and the shallot nest on top added the perfect texture and mix of flavors. Also had some fresh spring rolls veggie style- delish peanut sauce! Service was stellar. Recommend if you're in the area.

It was night and my partner wanted thai. We had this on our list of places to try. It's about 10 minutes from where we live. The parking is pretty bad because it minimal. It was a Thursday about 630ish and there was no wait. Everyone was so nice. It's always a great experience when you're being tended to by people who love what they do. The inside is really clean and bright. I don't remember if music was playing or not. We're talkers so... Our food was fast, hot and, fresh. I order wontons, sticky rice, and garlic chicken no spice. It was delicious. My partner had the basil chicken. She only wished her mushrooms were chopped finely. Their menu is enormous. I'll have to visit a few times to try more things. Definitely recommend.

I always drive by this place and decided to give it a shot! Their food was delicious and definitely a must try if you're in the area. Prices are super affordable and service was excellent

Very good thai place. Loved the decor for valentine's day they even folded some of the napkins into roses which I thought was a nice detail. The customer service was phenomenal the staff are super sweet and helpful. Never needed anything they made sure we were good at all times. The food came out pretty quickly except for the bbq chicken but the waitress let us know it would be a little longer to cook because they have to bbq it which was okay for us we were in no rush. I liked that she let us know ahead of time just incase we were in a rush. Overall Rating 9/10!

I've been wanting to try this spot out for awhile and I've heard a few people recommend it. I decided to walk there fore take out. I ordered a tai iced tea, crab wontons, and chicken pad tai. With it was almost $40. For the money not impressed at all. The tea was the best part. The staff were nice, but the food was average at best. I would never go back at that price unless the food was really fantastic

The area where this is located is quiet and not busy like Pacific Avenue. The food was pretty good but nothing I'd run back for. I generally judge by ordering the green curry the first time I try a new Thai restaurant. Idk why but I would say theirs was 3/5 based on other places I've been to. The server was nice but occupied. The smell of the actual restaurant was actually bad like sewer but the overall cleanliness was fine. Might be the plumbing in area.

We came in tonight. The service was great and they were warm and welcoming. We enjoyed tofu tod (crispy tofu) and red tofu curry with brown rice.

Delivery order, so can't speak to the restaurant. I wish I would've remembered to take a photo because I see they have none yet! :( I was craving Thai for lunch today and decided I wanted to try a new spot - I didn't realize that this location was also fairly new, based on the fact that they have less than five reviews! The food was delivered quickly and packaged nicely and was super hot still upon delivery - always a bonus! I'm a basic girlie and went with an order of Chicken Pad Thai. First bite of chicken was incredibly tough/fatty which was a little rough to get past. On top of that the overall flavor is a tad too sweet for my liking but the noodles were a great texture and the veggies in the dish tasted fresh. Would try their panang curry in the future as I see from other reviews that that dish hits the spot and is one of my other favorites!

Service from the moment we entered to closing out the check was very welcoming and nice! Staff were helpful, had personality, and fast service. Food was seasoned and cook to perfection as it was bold, complex, and authentic to what you would expect for the cuisine. Portions for entrees and appetizers were good for the price. Establishment was very clean, upkept, and booths were comfortable!

I have to say no based on delivery from this location. No one checks the orders to ensure it is correct - such an easy thing to do if you care about your customers! We have had 2 orders in a row where items were missing. Honestly, it's not rocket science, just look in the bag and make sure everything is there. The physical restaurant is good. With good services and the food is very good. Just take as much care with delivery and takeout orders as you do for dine-in patrons and you'd be hard to beat.

The food and service here were phenomenal. I had doubts coming in but the food was authentic. We had the fresh rolls, Tom Kha with shrimp and Pa Nang curry with chicken. The fresh rolls came in six cut up pieces, with noodles, greens, shrimp, and chicken. Choice of peanut sauce or sweet chili sauce. The Pa Nang curry was really good and it came with rice. It wasn't too sweet and was the perfect flavor. The Tom Kha was the most delicious. It unfortunately didn't come with rice though. However, it was delicious by itself. The restaurant got really busy when the lunch time hit and the two poor waitresses were slammed but they did their best to wait on all the tables. I would definitely come back.

The food here is very delicious and full of flavors. The service was wonderful. The atmosphere is bright with piano music playing in the background.

absolutely blown away! i wish the other chilli thai spots were as amazing as this one. the chef here knows what they're doing! i ordered the pad seew and it was a 10/10. perfectly balanced and satisfying. the red curry is rich, flavorful, and comforting. their buffalo garlic chicken is so crispy, saucy, and just the right amount of heat. they're clean, fast, and the customer service is top notch. i'd make the long trip just for this place. highly recommend!

i ordered fried rice with prawns, pretty good, nice service, thai tea was amazing, and spring rolls were good as well as sweet n sour sauce

Well the food was good enough But they were super stingy on the rice And overpriced for what I got Not making that error next time

I came up on this restaurant while walking downtown with friends and I'm so glad I did! I believe it is the newest location of a local chain. The restaurant was welcoming and comfortable inside with good lighting, plants, and purple orchids on the tables. Lots of table and booth seating, and as a large person I was able to sit very comfortably. There was also a fun combination of traditional Thai music, Thai pop, and country music playing. The service was excellent and attentive and our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu. I was excited to see some northern Thai dishes and will definitely be back to try more things. We shared some red curry, Pad Kee Mao, and Miang Kum. I haven't had Miang Kum since I lived in Thailand and it was so good! The combination of sweet tangy umami fresh flavors and the crunchy and chewy textures were the epitome of what I love about Thai food. The Pad Kee Mao had lots of vegetables and the noodles were a perfect texture. The red curry was equally as good. The food presentation was aesthetically pleasing. Portions were large and all of us had leftovers. I will definitely be back.

This is a very good place for Thai food, I've eaten here a few times while traveling for work. The food is fantastic, the service was excellent and the restaurant is clean!

Ordered basil beef and chicken pad thai, absolutely incredible 10/10 dishes, the staff was so friendly too! I will definitely be eating here again (also the water glasses are cute and the water is crisp)
