Thyme Kitchen and Craft Beer

Just had the Poor Boy fish sandwich at Thyme Restaurant, and it was pretty good! The fish was crispy, seasoned perfectly. Others in my party ordered the meat loaf and a chicken pot pie. The atmosphere was really nice and welcoming. I’ll definitely be going back to try more!

My husband and I just happened to be in the area and decided to have lunch here a couple weeks ago. I'm a little behind on posting my pictures but the review is still going to be great. Upon walking in we were seated right away, there were quite a few people there but there was still plenty of tables available for a Sunday afternoon. When the waitress seated does she also brought us a large glass bottle of water and two glasses. As you look around the restaurant you notice that there is a loft with more tables and chairs where people are enjoying their lunch. We got the perfect little table, caddy corner right in the corner of the room. It almost felt as if we were the only ones there. We were greeted right away by a waitress and somebody that she was training, both ladies were very sweet. We told her that it was our first time there and she suggested we try and appetizer so we tried the Wisconsin cheese curds, they were beer battered, had white cheddar on the inside, and was served with ranch. They were great! We love going to places and trying different cheese curds and giving it a rating. These are fantastic I would come back just to have them again. For our main entree we both got the fried chicken sandwich. This came with pimento spread, fried onion, chipotle BBQ aioli, pickles, lettuce, tomato, and a potato bun. It seemed a little bit pricey to order this for $17 but I mean, it really seems like the going right now when you do go out to eat. Whike we waited we had some cheese curds and water (that came in a glass jar.) Honestly the water tasted fresh and clean but having it be room temperature water was very unsatisfying. I usually only ever drink water but I guess I could have asked if they had some ice. It just wasn't very refreshing to have it be room temperature. The chicken tasted great I never had one before with pimento cheese on it, it was a really nice addition. I didn't have any room for dessert this time but this was a great meal and we will definitely be returning to try something new on the menu next time!

A lovely place where you can come with friends and family to get meal and drinks. They have a very nice selection of beer and spirits. They also have quite variety of food you can order. The staff here are very friendly. The atmosphere is very decorative especially for Christmas. Very nice place!!!

Been here plenty of times but find it a bit inconsistent. Really enjoyed the last visit here. Abnormally quiet for a Thursday but we were sat quickly and the food was fresh. Tried some new things like the NA watermelon mocktail, hummus plate, and pot pie. We were satisfied with these! Their salads are always yummy and a good choice when you want something cold on a hot day.

The holiday overlay was amazing. The bacon appetizer was absolutely amazing. Beer selection fabulous. Customer service friendly and prompt.

Everything was great except our service. Once we got our delicious food we never saw our waitress again. We really wanted to try some of their Flights, but sadly got discouraged by our poor service. Lauren B.was our server. Once another young lady tracked her down we waited even longer for our check and finally ask another staff to cash us out. It was a real turn off after such good food.

Absolutely one of my favorite places to drop in. Brock has to be one of the coolest bartenders in #Peoria! 🌟 The food was great! We tried the short rib ragu (🤤) and the tuna poke, and they were both phenomenal. Started off with a couple of dirty martinis, and then the Rasputin. You feel like you have space and privacy here. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area. As a plant-lover, I was excited about the succulent wall. 😂 🌿

Amazing Craft cocktails and the servers are even better! What a great place for a date or a group of friends for drinks and dinner. They had the entire restaurant decorated to the nines for the holidays. Really a gem for Peoria.

What a gem we have here in Peoria with Thyme Kitchen. I've eaten here several times, and wanted to discuss my most recent visit. I recommended Thyme for a business meeting dinner and it was a hit with all of my colleagues. From the time we entered, my colleagues were impressed with the big wall of whisky and the interesting decor. Everyone was impressed with everything about our meal. The beer menu was a big hit, as were the appetizers. I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken and it was amazing. Crispy and delicious. One of the best fried chicken meals I've had in ages. Our waitress was really impressive. She was attentive without being invasive. I can't recommend Thyme more.

We chose this hard to locate (small signage) restaurant in Peoria while on our route from St Louis to the Chicago burbs to have a gluten free lunch. It was almost 3pm by the time we arrived. There was one couple eating at the bar but the restaurant was otherwise empty. The hostess was rude and sat us at a dirty table. To her credit, the bartender/waitress came right over and apologized and moved us to a clean table. I explained to her that we chose the restaurant for the gluten friendly menu and she took our order. The chef brought out our food and quickly apologized that he put croutons on my salad but the turkey sandwich wasn't what I ordered either. They said it would be a ten minute wait for my medium well bison burger. While I waited the server brought out my side salad which was smart of her. At least my husband didn't have to eat alone. The manager came by to ask how everything was and we didn't complain because mistakes happen. The bison burger came out well done so I can't explain why there was blood on the plate but that was gross. The actual flavor of the bison burger was delicious and enhanced by the blueberry sauce which I thought complimented the taste very well. Moral of the story is don't arrive between lunch and dinner time when the hostess is snoozing and the chef is too? Thank you for the smart bartender who saved the meal altogether!

Located in downtown Peoria,this place is not real easy to find due to poor signage in my opinion. We stopped in for a late lunch on a Monday and we were just about the only ones in the restaurant. The hostess seated us at a dirty table so our server noticed and had us switch tables. They have an extension Bourbon list so I started with an Old Fashion. They make theirs with Old Forester bourbon which is not my favorite. I should have asked for something different. My wife was pleased they had a nice Gluten Free menu so she ordered the Bison burger with side salad. I ordered their Smoked Meatloaf sandwich. Our meals were brought out by the chef and he noticed he put croutons on my wife's salad which is a big no-no. He also brought her a turkey sandwich? The server admitted it was her mistake so while I ate my sandwich,my wife waited about 10 minutes for her meal . My sandwich consisted of smoked meatloaf on a hoagie roll topped with mashed potatoes,crispy onions and smokey tomato sauce. It was very tasty but I did not really see or tasted mashed potatoes. When my wife received her Bison burger there was blood from the meat on the plate .not very appetizing! She said the burger tho was very good and cooked medium well. Thyme Kitchen offers a variety of unique food items as well as an extensive bar menu but they just need to get their act together.

Stopped in for lunch while driving through Peoria on a road trip. Sad that we were only one of two tables at noon on a Thursday. The decor and wide open tall warehouse space were great and I would love to be there on a busy night when the joint is poppin'. I had the fried chicken sandwich (good size with ample toppings) and tots, my hubby had the wings (tender, good size with a good rub and tasty bbq sauce).

A great space to enjoy a meal with family or friends. We stopped in after a church service to grab brunch. The staff was kind and they had a variety of food options.

A group of colleagues and I came here on a Tuesday evening after work. The staff was very polite, welcoming, and were able to seat our party of 6 very quickly. We ordered several appetizers including the cheese curds, calamari, crostinis, and feta dip. Everything was great and came out fast. Our entrees were excellent as well. Would recommend and would come back!

Really cool little spot. Recently attended for a late lunch with a few colleagues, and I have to say we were really impressed. We ordered two appetizers, the smoked wings and the crab cakes. The crab cakes were very good, maybe a little on the thin side, so crispy rather than delicate, but nice nonetheless, full of flavor. The smoked wings were just delicious. Smoky, crispy, a little bit of delicate heat from the dry rub. I don't love dry rubbed wings as a rule, but these were top notch, and I think a sauce might have killed their flavor. For lunch, I had the bison burger with tater tots. I don't think you can go wrong with it. If you've never had bison, it's leaner than beef, but full of flavor. Really good! One of my other colleagues had the meatloaf sandwich. After seeing it, I was jealous. It was MASSIVE! He said it's one of the best meatloafs he's ever had! The inside is kinda cool, lots of reclaimed wood and old, bare brick walls. Their craft beer list was great, and though I didn't have any on this trip, their whiskey menu is amazing! Check it out next time you are in downtown Peoria!

First time here.. and was greeted at host desk. We did not know we needed a reservation.. so we had to sit at a outside table, that was on the sidewalk area. I guess the rest of the empy tables inside was reserved for reservatios.. It was okay because it was a nice night outside. Our waitress was very nice. The food was good. I would definitely get a reservation if u plan on coming here.

Quick overview: great appetizers (recommend cheese curds, calamari, and wings), slow but friendly service, and great seating both outdoor and indoor. I don't drink so I can only rate the food. I got the Marsala chicken plate and it was a solid 8/10. The chicken was well cooked and juicy but a little overly salted, the mash potatoes was alright, and the corn was my favorite on that dish. I also tried the calamari appetizer which was 10/10 for me, and I don't even like calamari that much. Tried a wing from a friend and it was pretty good and smoky, and I also tried the cheese curds... amazing! Service was nice but slow, so I wouldn't come here in a hurry for food or drinks. Overall, nice place, great outdoor and indoor seating, and plenty of good appetizers.

We came from Chicago to visit from a convention and saw somewhat good reviews about this place so we decided to try since it was close to our hotel. Food was overall disappointing and they fry the food in the same oil! Wouldn't be surprised if they don't clean it on a regular basis! Ex). We ordered cheese curds, and it tasted and smell like fish... the bison burger had no flavor/seasoning. Left the place with an upset stomach, please don't be fool by the reviews like I did! Also, the price $$$ doesn't justify the quality of food at all!

First and foremost the staff was friendly. We loved our drinks and the ricotta and feta dip appetizer. Unfortunately, our main courses weren't great. I ordered the cajun shrimp and grits. It wasn't very warm when I received it and the shrimp was overly seasoned and overcooked. My boyfriend's bison burger was charcoaled nicely but lacked flavor.

Great food. Difficult to place an online order. Would definitely recommend. Of note, they have different menus on the weekend, so probably need to streamline the online order process

Stopped here for lunch with my wife and another couple while visiting Peoria and instantly loved this place! The atmosphere, decor, and overall vibe is very cool...kind of a surprise considering the building exterior and entrance is nondescript. The wall of bourbon is amazing; I literally stood and just stared at it. The staff was quiet but friendly and the food was delicious. My wife and I shared the turkey sandwich with tots. It was delicious and plenty for both of us. I also enjoyed one of the many craft beers they offer served the perfect temperature in the right glass...nice touch. Dear Owner, please copy/paste in St. Louis!!!

The bourbon and beer selection is daunting. The beer tasting option made it fun. The duck was tender and not gamey, but just delicious and lean. I loved this creative food idea and the actual plate didn't disappoint. The fried brussel sprouts were heavy on the oil so be warned. Prices were great and the vibe was welcoming, with a fun theme.

I popped in for takeout lunch after recommendation from a friend. The space is eclectic but fun however the immediate eye catcher is the large assortment of craft beers on draft followed by the dozens of brands of bourbon! But... like I said, it was lunch time and I drive a lot so I just grabbed the bison burger and tater tots. The server was welcoming and efficient. I waited for 15 min then left food in hand. The tots were great. Fried and seasoned well. However, the star of the plate, the Buffalo burger, was completely unseasoned. The mayo and blueberry sauce were the only things with tastes. The flavor of the lettuce was overpowering! With Buffalo being such a lean protein you MUST add salt and pepper AT A MINIMUM and there was none. At one point I was rubbing the tots on my preselected bite areas in hope of raising enjoyment! I have tendency to judge all new establishments by their burgers or their wings. These are fundamental dishes that if done poorly, tell me all I need to know about the menu. I would love to come back and try all of the liquid offerings from Thyme... I guess I'll just have to eat somewhere else first.

WHISKEY lovers paradise. They had an extensive list of bourbon that you could chose and order as flights. Since this was a work dinner I didn't get any (maybe next time). The restaurant had a great vibe and you could definitely tell it was newer. Our waitress had somebody shadowing her because she was new to the role. She was a natural and did a great job for us. The cheese curds were amazing. They had a crunchy outer layer and the cheese melts in your mouth. The chicken sandwich was okay, it lacked flavor for me. My coworkers said they enjoyed their food selections. Overall I enjoyed our visit and would return next time I'm in town.

Traveling through Peoria we always stop here. My meatloaf sandwich was absolutely delicious!! Service was great

Great service. Delicious food and cocktails. Unique cocktails are available and they were tasty. Our server gave good recommendations and description of food on the menu.

It's disappointing we normally enjoyed our dining experience. This time was not happy. I made reservations for 6 people for 11:30 dining. They put us in the very dark corner and there were other table open. We can hear kids running around above us very loud. We couldn't read our menu. Food was good, but my parents chicken pot pie was very salty. Very disappointing.

Have you ever had so many animal heads surround you during your lunch or dinner? You may feel like the ones here have the Mona Lisa effect, with their eyes following you wherever you go. This wasn't necessarily unsettling, though, unlike our stomachs at the end of our meal. Thyme Kitchen veers towards an in-the-woods ambience, with the weathered barn wood, plant decor, and a whole range of organic and natural elements. While this interior theme and style promotes quite the personality, the food here was a disappointment. The Asian Tuna Tacos was manifestly dreadful, and hard to understand why it was the top recommendation from our waiter. What constitutes a taco, for instance, is filling...which is what this lacked. An inch cube of tuna with some coleslaw on top is not considered a filling. Don't be fooled by the photo I posted, which makes it seem like these wonton crackers are filled to the brim; they placed the ingredients right on the edge to affect and throw off your perception. Perhaps we needed these leftover wonton crackers for the Deconstructed Duck Tamale, which soon became too overpowering to eat with its richness. A side dish should've been served to balance out the fatty element of the duck, such as a salad, but the crackers were sufficient enough to play this role. The Tuna Poke Bowl was decent and a great thing to order here if you want a heartier meal. The bang bang sauce gave out a bursting spice that you'll feel towards the roof of your mouth, and if you get Tajin on the side it will bring out a tangy and salty flavor combination. Though this menu item was more enjoyable than the rest, all five of us left Thyme Kitchen with an aggressive and severe stomach pain. Our discomfort lasted 6+ hours after dining here; which makes you wonder, why did they recommend the tuna so much?

We went for their brunch, it was delicious! Got their Denver omelette and of course a Bloody Mary. Huge portions of amazing food!

The service was great. Make sure you make a reservation and give yourself at least 2 hours before any event. Food was above average and the liquor selection was amazing. Will definitely be back.

We stopped on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch while dropping our son off at Bradley. We had a lot of running around to do so we didn't want to spend an unnecessarily long time there. We were sat and given two rounds of drinks by our server and we put in an appetizer order with our main entree order. It took about 20 minutes to get our appetizer. We had been there 55 minutes before I asked another waitress about our order. She said she go get our waitress. She (not our waitress) came back and apologized and said our order would be out momentarily. We finally got our meal and I had to ask a different waitress for drinks. And then had to ask another different waitress for our check. We only saw our original waitress as we were ready to walk out. We were there for an hour and 11 minutes, inhaled our meals in 11 minutes, and saw 4 different waitstaff before we saw our server again. First time, last time. Fool me once, never again.

Heard very good things about their fried chicken. But it was a disappointment. The chicken was drenched in some powdery spice mix, which was a tad bit bitter after a point. The chicken was cooked well. The tater tots were good. But the beer was very good. The decor of the place was excellent. The service was good.

This place is so good! Great service and delicious food. The atmosphere is super cool and there is a huge drink selection.

I ordered the nachos with pork & WOW! It was a large serving loaded with fresh ingredients & a side of queso. Let me say that the queso alone stole the show! The woman working the register was very nice & helpful. The restaurant is also very clean & they play some great music. A must try!

Overall one of the worst restraunts I've ever been too clearly the manager/owner doesn't care. Been there twice and the first time we ate and all of our meals were extremely salty. We all said for the price it wasn't great. We decided to try it again recently. It wasn't a rush hour they actually had plenty of tables and when we got seated we waited 15 minutes no server came up to see us or greet us or anything. Nothing on the menu was really calling us. But the drinks looked interesting enough so we were gonna get a few cocktails and eat some food. But we never got greeted waited another 5 minutes and at the 20 minute mark we got up and left. We made reservations before an event because we needed a place we knew we could go too get food without waiting a while. But clearly we were wrong. Barely had enough time to eat after waiting. But safe to say I'll never come back here after two horrible visits Its clear the owner doesn't even cate care.

We are in town for a week and stopped in for some lunch and drinks. Zach was a great host and server for us. He even gave us some facts about the place and what's good in the area. We had the fish and chips and the Cajun shrimps grits which were very yummy and the beers were great! Great place with a great vibe for sure. So happy we stopped in!

Was driving thru the riverfront area of Peoria , we wanted to get the full effect. We passed all the busy places on that strip and headed off the slightly less-beaten path. We discovered people enjoying brunch at the tables outside and saw the name Thyme and were intrigued. We opted for street side seating for two. Drink menu is diverse, and looking at menu photos it appears to change regularly. We opted for the Pinkies Up, a rum-based drink and Thyme on Thyme, with bourbon, spiked pear, pineapple and lemon. Fantastic for both! For an appetizer we ordered the fried cauliflower. Slam Dunk! The coating was lightly fried and tasted delicious. Dipping sauce was an avocado ranch. For dinner we shared the meatloaf entree and again a delight for the taste. Meatloaf was good to support the main item, with blanched green beans with a small dose of pork belly. Overall, we are very satisfied with this choice and would visit again in our next adventures here. Service was fast and friendly, with no sense of being rushed. Our server, Nova, was very knowledgeable as we asked questions about different choices, and she didn't sound like she was just saying everything was good to move things along. So find some time to dine at Thyme!!

Looked like a good restaurant. Menu looked awesome! We sat and watched a couple, that showed up after us, get attention from their server 5 times in the 15 minutes we sat there. Not one time did anyone come to our table, so we just walked around the corner to Pop-Up Chicken. It was Phenomenal!

Buffalo burger with fries is where my stomach led me this evening. The beer and bourbon list is top knotty. Service was good. Atmosphere, nice. Buffalo burger was okay, a little dry... I should have tried one of their house dinners. I'll be back

Partook in the upstairs area. Many animal heads and a couple of sharks viewing us from the walls. Nonetheless the meatloaf sandwich was very good and the chicken salad was commented to be excellent. Tots were also found to be enjoyable. The deep fried steak and cheese appetizer was also good. Staff was friendly but pretty overworked with the entire upstairs with only one server. The guys who had to bring up the food get extra kudos given the number of trips up the stairs.

This place is really consistently good. I've gone at least 5 time and everytime it was a pleasant experience. They get pretty busy on weekends so a reservation would surly help. Noah, Frankie and the girl with dark hair and blue eyes were the servers I've had and they were all prompt, nice and accommodating. I always get the chx and waffles which is really good but a little greasy. My bf loved the shrimp & grits after trying them and gets them often. 10/10 would recommend.

Being in town for the next couple of days, it's time to check out the local fair. Stop number 2 was coming here for a take out order this afternoon. I was not asked for a vaccination card nor were the servers wearing masks. Again, what pandemic? I ordered the following: their Turkey Sandwich - Brie, bacon jam, lettuce, tomato, sage aioli, cranberry chutney, on toasted white bread. Their Tuna Poke Bowl and a Chicken Farmhouse salad. While I can't say much about the salad or Tuna Poke (although I did not see much Tuna), I'll mention my order of the Turkey Sandwich. I wish this was served warm but with the Brie either on the side or added while it was cold. Not only was the turkey dry but it was severed cold. This sandwich has the potential to be amazing and it was far from it. The accompanying tots were good. Their is a parking lot for your connivence and plenty of spaces to boot! I bet this place would be fun for snacks and especially drinks only.

Service was horrible!!!! Waited on the patio for 15mins not even a glass of water...Server walked passed me & checked on a table behind me.

Drinks were okay. Appetizer of whipped ricotta and feta was good. Shaved Brussels were okay. Dinner was mediocre - duck Ruben was reported not good. Polenta short rib was pretty good, flavorful, good texture. Chicken fried chicken was okay. Shrimp & grits were bland. All in all - likely will not come back.

This was our second trip here. The food was pretty delicious and unique. We came for lunch this time instead of dinner. Service was great. The place is still pretty loud even though many customers have written reviews, criticizing that aspect. They keep the music very loud and it's hard to have normal conversation at a table.

Good selection of drinks. Lots of different choices on the menu. Not a typical chain style restaurant.

The beer menu is worth 3 college credits of information and the diversity of flavors and breweries was, well curated. Definitely best in Peoria. Kendra, who was at the bar, was extremely attentive and took the experience to a big city level. Half of any experience is how you are treated, Kendra and colleagues were tops. Coming back for sure!!

My partner and I were in Peoria this past week for a concert and were surprised to find very few restaurants open on a Sunday evening. We had hoped to find something within walking distance of our hotel and Thyme was the only place that fit the bill. That said - on to the food. Here's what we ordered: * Philly egg rolls - these were good but had no resemblance to anything related to Philly steak. They were more of a chopped, roasted beef burrito/chimichanga served with white queso. * Fried cauliflower - this was also good, lightly battered with a tangy dipping sauce. * Nashville Spicy Fried Chicken - this was the best thing we ordered. The chicken was moist and juicy and flavorful, the skin was crispy, and the seasoning had a slow burn that built over time. The house pickles were amazing - dill and slightly sweet but not bread-and-butter sweet. * Fish sandwich (blackened) - The fries were fresh and hot and crispy and the tartar sauce was good but the fish was just average. It was pretty busy when we were there and I see that some of the reviews mention slow service, but we were prepared for that and didn't let it bother us. Quite honestly I think anyone complaining about slow service right now is being unreasonable. It's a universal issue and the servers who are there are doing the best they can. Everyone was friendly and clearly working hard, so we have no complaints at all. I still wish Yelp would give the option for half-star ratings because just based on my personal scale, I'd consider this a 3.5 rating - not quite a 4. But I'm willing to go higher rather than lower because the staff was so friendly and helpful.
