Kimchi Mart 김치 마트

The first time I went to this Kimichi Mart there was only one in Miami…now there are several locations. I love this place…and yes you’re probably right I tend to only review places I have had good experiences. When I go to Miami this is the location I shop at. I buy fresh Kimbap and all my Asian food stuff needs. I’m so grateful I don’t have to go to a separate store to buy Lumpia wrapper (REAL lumpia wrapper) If you’re a kdrama junkie like me … you’ll find every ingredient you need to make the dishes you see on kdamas. I was there recently and bought Korean fried chicken. I’m fascinated how the world has gotten smaller.

Google
Great variety of oriental products. My first time there, most employees are friendly and helpful, but one of them a Spanish speaking young woman. I did not ask for her name because of her nasty attitude. I asked her about jackfruit and she said something about Sorbeto, which I didn't understand. To Cubans that's a wafer, but she got nasty and ignored my request for help.

Google
Kimchi Mart is a great Asian market! They have a good selection of fresh vegetables, a huge variety of ramen and instant noodles, and plenty of frozen meats. The store is clean, and the staff are friendly and speak English well. The prices are competitive with other Asian markets in the area.

Google
As a Korean living in Miami, it’s such a relief that there’s a Korean grocery store 😭❤️they also do have other Asian stuff (Japanese, Thai and etc) Also the price is isn’t bad at all *Their KIMBOP is a MUST try😭🥹❤️* +The owner and the staffs are always so nice and welcoming ❤️

Google
I don't really understand anything about Korean, but if you want to take a risk and eat healthy and something new, I recommend it. There are not many labels in English but at least at first glance the products catch your attention and seduce you with their presentation and do not disappoint when you try them. In fact you have no doubts to buy there you have attendants who can help you, and even more, on weekends they make traditional Korean foods to sell and get to know them freshly made, I recommend you visit it.

Google
AmaIng market, I have been going a lot. It’s always fun to walk the isles because there is almost always something new and interesting to try. Though I have to pass fast through the dishes section because I just want to take it all with me… either if you are a chef looking for the right ingredients for that specific dish, or just a wanderer trying to find new interesting things, this is your place.

Google
Forgot to take photos of my food, but the sushi was by far one of the best ones I had in a long time. I will definitely drive an hour again just to try them.

Google
Great store, only wish they had more meats/fish. Otherwise the produce selection is fantastic as well as a huge variety of sauces and spices.

Yelp
This Kimchi Mart is located in Miami, in the Palmetto Bay area. Came here since I was in the area and it is as tried and true as the other locations, although a bit smaller than the Pines one (I think). The space is clean and you can find all the Asian market goodies you may be looking for. I love how each of the locations seemed to have added a to-go, quick food area in each market for items like onigiri and sushi-grade fish. A great Asian market!

Yelp
Can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet!! It's stocked with lots of Asian groceries including fresh vegetables and fruits. The market is clean and the prices are fair. Staff is friendly. I cam usually find what I need here. I especially love the exotic potato chips and snacks. Came today to get brown rice, fresh ginger ($2.99/lb), turtle chips (they aren't really made of turtles) and readymade jap chae.

Yelp
Great professional customer service. Store is clean, aisles are organized and clearly labeled. More Korean items than Vietnamese but still plenty of choices for cooking Asian cuisines. I specifically buy fresh rice noodles for pho, fish sauce, hoisin, frozen gyoza, sriracha, very small produce section and packaged noodle soups. The only item they don't have that I wish they did was beef meatballs for pho soup. Parking can be challenging as it's a small lot. Accepts credit cards.

Yelp
The store has seen major renovations such as new shelves and refrigeration systems. My reason for updating is a concern with the Kim Chi. It went from being one of the best Kim chi ever sold in a grocery store to very, very bad. I just bought a container for $10 that was made on the 19th. Considering it's only the 21st the smell of this batch is sour. Not rancid sour but still sour unlike I've ever smelled before. I opened it and the entire room smelled bad. Makes me wonder what kind of fish sauce was used, or how long it was sitting at room temp before being refrigerated. It wouldn't surprise me if it was one day from being completely rancid. Upon eating a few pieces, the taste was only a fragment of once glorious Kim chi. I doubt I can bring myself to eat anymore than the three pieces I did to test the batch. It's sad that such glorious Kim chi is borderline food poisoning at this point. I don't trust the Kim chi and likely will not be buying anymore unless they can reclaim their former glory. I will bring it back for a refund. Guess I'll have to start making my own Kim chi. Thankfully I can use the ingredients sold here. As a bit of unsolicited advice to Kim Chi Mart, I would recommended a change of containers from the currently used plastic ones to instead maybe glass with a removable twist off lid. Or at least a plastic container with a removable lid, that way employees could conduct periodic welfare checks of all the kimchi items to ensure none of them have gone bad. I would also be inclined to know if the kimchi is first made and fermented in one large batch before then being divided into separate smaller containers or if they are all divided into the containers first and then left to ferment?? I ask for quality assurance purposes as the former would make it easier to monitor. The latter method would cause inconsistencies in each container making it harder to identify good kimchi from bad. As someone who got food poising from bad kimchi many years ago, I refuse to give the benefit of the doubt as easily as I once did. If the kimchi continues to be bad, a name change of the establishment might be in order

Yelp
Our by weekly must go! Great spot for your needs! The prices are reasonable! The service is good and make sure to use points! Food is authentic and anything that you want to buy! The store is clean and easy to navigate! Highly recommend!

Yelp
The store is super clean and highly organized. You can find everything you need. They have a wide selection of frozen items.

Yelp
Love their teas.. and their vegetable variety. They have great choices and definitely their new skincare section

Yelp
My kids love Asian food and snacks so coming across this market has been a great find for us. I have gone many times to pick up sushi grade salmon/tuna, snacks you see on Tik-tok, yummy beverages and so much more. They are stocked with a good variety of items. We always find some yummy items to take home.
google avatar

Yamy S.

Yelp
Love everything about this place; super fresh produce and fish . Very helpful employees. Love love this place .

Tatiana B.

Yelp
I love the variety of products they carry. The kimchis are delicious, and the house-made bibimbap is even better than what I've had at restaurants.

Gabriella C.

Yelp
I was looking forward to getting a an onigiri, it's not common in Miami and it was just a ball and rice barely any tuna, maybe you want to put more tuna in there, people will appreciate it more. Such a thin layer of tuna there were parts that had none.

Luna A.

Yelp
Super great prices for international foods they have a bunch of affordable things and definitely multiple drinks in here. They also have seafood which I think it's amazing because if you're in the mood for some sushi, we will definitely like to check them out. I recommend it 100%

Yelp
Very good selection. Small place but very good not much else to say. Need 85 characters to make review go through.
google avatar

Yelp
So excited to find this gem!! This is our 3rd Asian market, and by far it's the best. There was about 8 or 9 items that i couldn't find and I wish they had more produce, but they were friendly, helped us find certain brands we were looking for, and I even found my favorite sparkling jelly sake: score!!! We'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Ed W.

Yelp
Great Asian market. Lots of great items and prices. Quality Asian products. I bought from here green tea, some noodles, sauces and of course Kimchi. Their kimchi is excellent, just the right amount of spiciness and fermentation. Definitely worth the effort to come here and try new things.
google avatar

Yelp
Kinda hard to get to because it's in a small plaza, parking isn't very convenient, BUT, if you need anything Asian, you'll probably find it here. Whatever meal you want to cook, you're sure to find all the ingredients there. And there's a few frozen meals to try as well. If you're a Ramon lover, they won't disappoint as they have more Ramon than you can imagine. There's the juices, sodas, wines, beer and household items too. I recommend this place as it's bright and clean and a pleasure to shop. The staff is all over stocking or cleaning so if you need help they're ready and willing. Oh, and the exotic awesome Asian chips and candy, well you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Sosun K.

Yelp
You can definitely all your Korean grocery needs here and love their kimchi! Cute ramen bowls and Asian supplies. They have so many products and brands. They also have a fresh little produce section.
google avatar

Mica L.

Yelp
I'm a fan. I usually visit the one in Pembroke, but this one is also a little gem. They have Korean red bean pastries, cookies, coffees, & teas you can't find anywhere else. If you want your ginger salad, kimchi, hibachi etc to taste like/almost like the restaurant, then this place is definitely it.
google avatar

Fire M.

Yelp
The lady was nice and helpful looking for what I wanted. Nice variety of things. Lost 2 stars because they have a $10 minimum to use Apple Pay?!?? They do not even have a sign up saying so. I've never heard this in any store I've shopped in.
google avatar

Mario R.

Yelp
I visited for the first time on Friday and was impressed with the selection of fresh veggies and fruits. Their store brand kimchi is also one of the best I've ever had! The store is clean and well organized, service was friendly, and I found everything I needed. I came in hoping to land some frozen tuna for sashimi at home and they didn't disappoint. I also got the previously mentioned kimchi, coarse red pepper flakes to make chili oil, Mochi, Chinese eggplant, and a couple of other items. Oh, and they had golden kiwi and persimmon! YUM!!
google avatar

Emilio S.

Yelp
The best Oriental Mart. So clean, organized and pristine. They have everything you want and more. Maria and the team are fantastic and helpful. Service is incredible.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing place to find the Korean item you've been searching for! Produce was fresh and selection is impossible to beat in the area.
google avatar

Ashley T.

Yelp
Its clean and well stocked. The service is not bad but it is a little pricey. They had have a big variety of the stuff i was looking for so I will be going back!

Yelp
Updating my review now that I've come here several times. I usually prefer to swing by on weekends, because they have ready to go kimbop (sometimes spelled as kimbob), starting late mornings. If you've never tried it, it's kind of similar to sushi rolls, but with slightly different ingredients. Love that stuff. Kimchi still remains exceptionally clean, very well organized and carries a variety of goods, even some from different Asian countries ( in addition to Korean). Prices are a bit high, but I'm willing to pay the slight difference because I can usually find everything I need here, and the cleanliness appeals to me. All produce is very fresh, including the meats. They also have several fridges filled with prepared foods like kimchi, seaweed salad, baked goods, drinks and more. Staff also was very friendly on my last visit, which I greatly appreciated. Previous visits were met with a more "stoic" attitude. This time around, there were warm smiles. If you're needing asian ingredients, or just willing to try something new, visit Kimchi. Parking is very limited in the front, but there's additional spaces in the back.
google avatar

Kristina S.

Yelp
I was so excited to find this Asian Market so close to my hometown. I find they have a great variety of options and it's always clean and well stocked. I think there prices are slightly higher than most Asian markets but they are the only one in this area so you're paying a little extra for convenience.
google avatar

Maria Alejandra B.

Yelp
I want to buy everything from here. I'm a big fan of Asian cuisine and I'm dabbling more into cooking it myself instead of always eating it when we go out. One of my dearest friends is Japanese and he came with me to buy everything we needed for a home made gyoza dinner. The aisles are tight but they are packed with lots of great quality and variety of products. I will certainly be coming back every time I run out of my ingredients.

Daniel S.

Yelp
This is amazing, a Korean corner market in Miami! They have a lot of essentials, the Kimchi from here is a bit too fresh though from the times that I have purchased it, so I needed to wait longer for it to ferment enough to enjoy. They have many essential snacks, beverages and frozen foods for those (like me) who need to buy some fish cake corndogs. Prices are a little elevated but given their location, and the current global situation, it is what it is. I am happy to pay for these comforts here.
google avatar

Spencer A.

Yelp
Kimchi is absolutely one of my favorite foods. If you haven't tried it- it is a fermented spicy #Korean sauerkraut- made with cabbage or radish. You can probably find it at your local supermarket but I suggest you find an authentic Asian market preferably one that caters to Koreans. I never imagined that @noryaronfeld would be as fond of #kimchi as his dad- but as they say: the Mandu doesn't fall far from the tree. Check out the "Kimchi Market" in Miami for the best Asian market in town.
google avatar

Norbe P.

Yelp
Great supermarket! It's pricey! You will find a lot of good Asian products. I obtained duck eggs and bulldog sauce. Highly recommend it!
google avatar

Ronny D.

Yelp
I love this place, they have so many good stuff. The food is super cheap and great quality. They have a big variety of drinks and snacks. The soups are really delicious, I got two today hahaha. Great store and nice people.

Alexandra B.

Yelp
I love this place, I go every time I have a chance. No matter what I go for, I find something. Prices, food, and the employees, etc... are so nice, polite, exceptionally courteous and knowledgable. You ask for help and there's always someone around to answer your questions. The variety of food, stuff in general, chopsticks, and anything oriental, they have it and if they don't more than likely they'll get it for you. I am so happy to have Kimchi Oriental Mart so close to me.
google avatar

V M.

Yelp
Got tired of ordering rice cake noodle and samyang ramen from amazon so I decided to find a place I could pick it up for cheaper. They literally have everything I've been crying over for YEARS! Very helpful friendly staff. A very intimate market with a lot of heart. I can't wait to go back and buy more FRESHHHHHH KIMCHI

Yelp
The original Oriental Mart up in Ft Lauderdale is one of my favorite Asian grocery store - big, clean, friendly and lots of goodies; so when they announced the opening of a new store down south, I am super excited. Finally the wait is over and the store was opened less than a week ago, on 15355 S Dixie Hwy. (I submitted the info to Yelp but somehow they posted a totally different address) When I visited, they are still in the middle of setting up. Official Grand Opening won't be till March, but streams of Koreans are coming in to say hi already. (My Korean friend texted me about their soft opening, so I guess the word is out, at least in Korean.) The shelves are more half empty, so selection is still limited, but the friendly staff told me that if I want some veggies they can pack it for me from the back. They have freezers of sliced beef for Korean BBQ, marinated as well as plain, frozen seafood, dumplings, ice cream and frozen treats from Korean. There are many instant noodles, mostly spicy. For veggies they have eggplants, dark green vegetables, turnips, and jars and jars of kimchee. The ban-chan variety is limited at this moment. It's a grocery store, so you'll find all the pantry items you expected: spices, rice, flour, snacks, drinks and more. It's fun to explore. I treated myself to a Korean ice cream, bought some Korean instant noodles, and left. Same as the Ft Lauderdale store, they give me a bottle of yogurt drink at check out. As kids, we drank it by puncturing a hole in the seal with our canine teeth, then suck the drink with vampiric gusto. Which is how I drank mine just now... Will definitely be back in a couple of weeks to do a full report.
google avatar

Ana G.

Yelp
Great place, it has a variety of food and super nice staff! I've never been to a Korean store before so I was excited to try it, and loved the experience.
google avatar

Neil C.

Yelp
Perhaps I've been spoiled by the Kimchi Mart in Pembroke Pines, but that one is so much more exciting than this SoMi location. Better prices and much more selection to choose from in the Pines. Both locations have a variety of fresh kimchi available. I'm not even sure if these two Kimchi marts are associated with another, but it certainly feels like two different shopping experiences. Interestingly, this Kimchi Mart seems to own the martial arts business next door. Some of their food items are labeled Kimchi Martial Arts if I can remember correctly. All in all, not enough selection for me here to want to make a return visit. The employees/owners, however, are very nice people.

Yelp
Love this place! I love all things korean food. This place has it all. Very clean and organized. They have specfic korean ingredients that you would not find anywhere else. I follow Maangchi on youtube and now I can recreate everything. I also follow cooking with dog and has japanese dishes that uses ingredients that are hard to find. This place has it. They also have, I believe, homemade kimchi. It is definately different than the ones in the glass jar that are in all asian markets. It is cheaper here too. They have a variety of korean side dishes as well. My favorite is the frozen meat they have. Thin slices of beef is so hard to find. Even having it custom cut at publix it is still not as thin as I like. I buy it because it'll be good for pho. I also buy it to make bulgogi. Which they also have premade frozen. All you have to do is thaw and stir fry and BAM KBBQ. Love this place. I end up spending a lot but I can make all the korean dishes I want for at least 2 weeks or so.
google avatar

Jennifer P.

Yelp
Great little spot for Korean and some Asian food as a whole. It had a lot of Korean ingredients that I hadn't seen anywhere else and the variety of brands was amazing. They have a lot of frozen foods, refrigerated foods, some fresh produce and the regular aisles of non perishables. We've been twice within the past two weeks and I was still discovering new things. They had ready made kimbap and japchae for a great price at the front. I had already tried these before so I forewent them the first time. Got them the second visit with some banchan (there's a fridge just for banchan) and they were really good. Nice tastes and very filling for the price. Banchan, two kimbap, one japchae and a handful of frozen mandu and about four of us ate. The snacks are all over the place and it's a dream to pick and sort through. My younger siblings always try to kid buying things they know and something new and it seems as if we'll be trying new things for a bit. Last note: i always recommend the melon yogurt drink. It's so refreshing and sweet.
google avatar

Valerie A.

Yelp
Very helpful staff! I found what I wanted. I would totally recommend this place! You walk in and the staff is there to help. I truly recommend this Oriental Market.
google avatar

Anna P.

Yelp
This Korean market has very good taste in music and the variety of Asian snacks are endless! I will definitely come back when I am in town! The store was very clean and the service was fabulous!
google avatar

Iris C.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! Asian oriental mart that is conveniently close to my house, it doesn't get any better! I think I come here every week to stock up on my noodles and Asian snacks, and frozen meats when I'm feeling for hotpot. This place is super clean, with large/wide aisles to walk in, it carries mainly Korean items, but they have fresh veggies too. I think on weekends, they have fresh kimbap and other goodies. I love to eat, but I'm really lazy when it comes to cooking. They have a lot of items in their fridge that is pretty much prepared for you to cook like the Sundubu-jjigae. Parking in the front is limited, but there is a parking lot behind their building, with a back door for entrance into their place.
google avatar

Fabrizio C.

Yelp
I purchased a bag of clams. The bag says the clams are cooked. They are not. They are raw. I went back to the store to let them know. The first attendant told me she wouldn't know because se doesn't eat clams. I told her that was not my point. The second attendant understood the issue, and asked me if we should bring the matter to the manager. So we did. The manager didn't speak much English and just asked me if the clams where sushi grade.... Nobody in the store seemed to care or understand that they are selling improperly labeled seafood. You buy clams labeled as cooked, and you get raw ones, that's dangerous. Please be careful.
google avatar

Sandy C.

Yelp
So much variety and good quality products at a reasonable price. They have fresh is fresh kimchi for those that enjoy Korean cuisine as well as a good variety of instant Ramen noodle
google avatar

Nick Q.

Yelp
For all your kimchee and Asian spicy stuff fixes this is the place! Fresh produce and delicious prepared food items while they last. I love this place. See you here!
google avatar

Thien H.

Yelp
Oriental Mart, otherwise known as Kimchi is mainly a Korean mart. While it didn't have the herbs and some vegetables I was looking for Southeast Asian dishes, it was still a fun place to visit. Overall, the market is clean and it has a good variety of refrigerated and frozen foods. I was able to find beef bones to make soup stock. I found an interesting ice cream dessert called sweet corn. The cashier was nice enough to give us two free yogurt drinks after paying. If you're looking for kimchi or other Korean goods, then this is the place to visit.
google avatar

Jasmine R.

Yelp
Got insanely sick from fish here. I've eaten week old sushi before and was fine. Whatever was in my fish was FOUL. That was my last straw with this place, but should of been when I heard the constant yelling from employees and the creepy vibes from the owner
google avatar

Jay L.

Yelp
This is my go-to Asian market. As the name suggests, Kimchi is more inclined to carry Korean products than any other. As far as quality, variety, and cleanliness, they've accomplished all! Their customer service is also a plus; all of the workers (regardless of time) are helpful and respectful. Kimchi has both packaged and prepared foods such as Kimchi and Kimbap. They also carry frozen beef (ribeye, sirloin, etc.) and a selection of produce commonly used in Asian cooking. They carry cookware and skincare products as well.
google avatar

Adriana F.

Yelp
This place is great, has a huge selection of foods and snacks. The place itself if a five star in my eyes. However the girls that work there always have an attitude. Each and every one of them every time you ask them anything they are annoyed. Today my boyfriend and I went to get some things and he noticed they were making comments about him. Also when we went to pay, the cashier not only snatched the basket from us but started throwing all our stuff on the counter and floor. I kid you not, she flung 5 of our items one by one off the counter. It seemed very intentional. I had to hold back from telling her off. But next time I won't be so nice. This is not okay at all. Customer service is a big deal and it's such a shame these girls ruin its reputation with their nasty attitudes.

Eric C.

Yelp
Very clean, staff very helpful, variety of Asian vegetables & foods. Speciality cooking pots, pans, & other utensils. Highly recommend. Their Kim Chee always fresh.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
Perfect place has all your essential asian goods. They have a fresh produce and scoop it yourself seeds and nuts ect. Probably one of the cleanest asian markets I have ever been to. Really organized lots of space and lighting top tier i would say. I also love their selection of soju and other Korean delicacies. From ramunes to cass the beverage selection is excellent. Staff is frendly great overall experience. Planning to go here a lot more even though it is far
