North Charleston Restaurant Dashi Bites Back After Bad Review | Eater Carolinas

"Located in North Charleston, this Asian‑Mexican‑Spanish fusion eatery received a 1.5‑star review from Post and Courier critic Hanna Raskin, who characterized the menu as “stoner food.” Instead of treating the critique as constructive feedback, the team leaned into the label—producing merchandise that proclaims “I love stoner food” and promoting a snarky #screwyouhannaraskin hashtag—turning a negative review into a provocative, publicity‑driven response amid broader local controversies over the critic’s polarizing opinions." - Erin Perkins

Critic Claims Dashi Offers ‘Stoner Food’ in North Charleston | Eater Carolinas

"Originally a food-truck-turned-restaurant in North Charleston, this newcomer earned 1.5 stars from Post and Courier critic Hanna Raskin, who found the cooking overly salty and criticized the indiscriminate use of Sriracha, sambal, pickled jalapeños and Thai chiles. The menu’s global mashups felt gimmicky and raised concerns about cultural appropriation, a point driven home by a soft-serve dessert lineup presented in four stereotyped styles—Thai (peanuts and chili powder), Mexican (cayenne and lime), Chinese (black sesame and five-spice) and Spanish (crumbled María cookies and cinnamon). While much of the food reads as “stoner food,” the critic recommended a lightly dressed, warm potato salad, a tomato bread likened to a delicious late-night French bread pizza, and a well-priced $14 flank steak; drinks and prices were also praised. Despite reservations about the cooking and menu concept, it was described as a really fun place to eat and drink." - Erin Perkins

Google
Dashi was an incredible dining experience. I had the stir-fry noodles with chicken, and they were absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned, and the sambal aioli brought all the flavors together beautifully. Our group of 15 was served quickly, which says a lot about their efficiency and organization. The music added to the atmosphere, giving the place a fun, small-town diner vibe with a unique Charleston twist. The ginger lemonade was a standout, refreshing, flavorful, and unlike anything I’ve had before. Out of all the lemonade options, it quickly became my favorite. The drink you see is a tiger milkshake (I can’t have milkshakes but th few who had them had nothing but praises for the their taste). I’ll definitely be back!

Google
Great meal in a fun atmosphere! The beef salad had tender, well-seasoned meat, and the chicken wings were loaded with flavor. Lots of dishes and desserts we still want to try. As tourists, we didn’t know to order at the counter and grab our own seat, but it was easy to figure out

If you are looking for an AMAZING SUPER COOL VIBE WITH FANTASTIC FOOD, Look no further than Dashi. The staff is WONDERFUL and the he dishes unique and bursting with flavor. Flair of Mexican with Asian Vibes… a MUST see in Charleston. Don’t miss this Local GEM.

Google
Duck quesadilla were amazing. We also tried the chicken tacos and the pork belly tacos, the kimchi and the beef salad. Great flavors. Very nice friendly service. We sat on the patio because we had our dog.

Google
One of the better places I’ve been since our trip here to Charleston. Great food, cool atmosphere and the bartender was knowledgeable/engaging. Food was also on point, no complaints at all.

Google
Got the duck ramen, Dubai chocolate Vietnamese coffee, and fully loaded Bloody Mary (I don’t remember its actual name). Sooooo good!!! Food was great and vibe was super cool. Awesome place.

Google
I LOVED the vibe in here, so fun!!! Very sort of hippy, natural, and great variety of drinks/cocktails. I had the duck ramen which was AMAZING! the broth was fabulous, lots of duck meat in it, we ate the whole bowl even though my husband was stuffed after his bahn mi. He said his sandwich was excellent too. Would definitely come back!! One of the best ramens I’ve ever had.

Google
Absolute flavor-bomb! This was our first time at Dashi and are excited to come back. We ordered the steak salad and banh mi wrap. The flavor profiles were unique and sooo good. The staff couldn’t have been any nicer. Looking forward to trying their milkshake bar next time. 😋

Yelp
Couldn't decide between Mexican and Asian food so this was a good Asian fusion compromise. The patatas bravas can live rent free in my mind. I loved them. I would go back over and over just for these. I also enjoyed the banh mi wrap and the pad Thai both with chicken. Both had good flavor but I would like to have had more sauce on the noodles so recommend asking for extra sauce if you like them like I do. The wrap was okay but I think I'll try the tacos next time. Also got the peanut butter sundae, it needed a little more peanut butter but definitely hit the spot. Counter service was super friendly and it looks like a little wine shop when you walk in, they have a full bar and racks of wine with a wine membership for $40 which is kind of cool and unexpected here

Yelp
I have heard of Dashi for a while and I finally went on a cold wet day and had their ramen. I felt like it put life back into me that day. I like the easy environment of this establishment. You walk in, go up to the counter, place your order and take your number to wherever you want to sit. There is quite a bit of seating and as I was in for lunchtime it wasn't overly crowded. The cashier was very helpful in choosing a drink and she was kind and polite. The server brought over my ramen in good time. It's not the type of restaurant where you will expect much more than that but I was pleased. Now the food! I ordered the Vietnamese coffee over ice. There are no hot drinks but the coffee was very good. I believe you can also order alcohol if you please and there is quite a selection of wine on display in the middle of the dining area. I also ordered the ramen. It is the only one on the menu and it is excellent! There is a variety of mushrooms - I saw lion's mane and at least two other types of mushroom. The vegetables are nicely green but cooked to just the right point. There is kimchi, and green onions and cabbage. And my two most favorite ingredients are the pork belly and the egg. The pork belly is a generous portion nicely crisped on the outside with nice flavorful meat and soft fat - the fat could be a turnoff for anyone with texture issues but the meat and the crunch were a nice contrast to offset the softness for me. The egg is a masterpiece of kitchen magic. It is a perfectly cooked soft boiled egg that is also breaded and deep fried. I have no idea how to achieve such a perfect result but the effect is marvelous. There is a nice crunch on the outside, a perfectly done white and the runny yolk - again this may be an issue for those with texture issues or who don't like runny eggs but I was pleasantly surprised and very pleased. The only other comment that I have about the ramen is that it was more spicy than I expected. It wasn't over spicy for me and I had no tears or coughing fits, but if you're sensitive it may be a bit much. As I was chilled through on the day in question, by the time I finished my meal, I was warm and happy. I would like to come back and try some of the other food options at another time but this may very well be the best ramen I have ever had.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best restaurants you will eat at that is not high end/dress code. Steamed buns , pork belly burrito, duck ramen are amazing. Great atmosphere and lots of weekday deals.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this space. It is an extension of Dashi. They have wine tasting, private parties, and more. They have an extensive selection of Spanish wines and bites. We were able to try the flight of wines, wine spritz (but with a special soda), and multiple bites. The service was amazing, he was a great host and very knowledgeable. It's a very spacious venue.

Yelp
We visited Dashi in North Charleston, a Mexican/Asian fusion spot tucked in a rustic, industrial-style setting. Don't let the location fool you--this place is a hidden gem! The food is all homemade and incredibly fresh--you can taste it in the spices, meats, and vegetables. I had the breakfast burrito packed with meats, veggies, and eggs with an amazing sriracha sauce. My husband tried several sides (generous portions, about the size of a cereal bowl, and only $5 each) including kimchi, beans and rice, and sautéed vegetables--all delicious. He also had a pork Korean bun with BBQ sauce that was outstanding. The Thai salad and dressing were equally impressive. They also offer signature cocktails, wine, and mimosas to round out the meal. If you love fresh, flavorful food at great prices, this is definitely a spot worth visiting. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Stephen, Nikki makes real special Veggie selection for me. One time I was a regular every day...2017-2023. Service by Brother Oscar and his team makes a true difference in that town. Love the ambience

Yelp
Being on the north side today brought me to Dashi. It has been awhile since I have eaten here. Don't know what took me so long to come back. I ordered special fritters along with one five spice pork belly steam bun. Both were bursting with flavor. The fritters are crispy on the outside and you get all the fillings described on the menu. I've had the five spice pork belly before and it is still amazing which is why I continue to choose it as my protein for my steam bun. As for the 3rd item pictured, the Banh mi wrap is delicious too but I prefer mine the traditional way made on French bread. Hopefully I can come back soon.

Yelp
Heck, I've lost count how many times I've been here. It's counter service, but everyone is super friendly and the food comes out fast! The environment is fun and inviting. The food is outstanding! I always get a pork belly steam bun with whatever else I'm ordering. They are a MUST! They usually have specials and you can never go wrong with one of those. Today, I ordered the Duck Ramen and it was exquisite! From the Duck confit to the crispy soft boiled egg, all of the ingredients and toppings are tied perfectly together with their 12-hour pork broth. Chefs kiss! I'll be going back for this one every time I crave ramen! My boyfriend and I split it. It's a pretty big dish. We also shared a couple tacos--chicken and shrimp. They were enormous and very yummy! I could go on and on about this little gem of a restaurant! Go try it for yourself. Thank me later.

Yelp
Love the layout and aesthetic of this place!!! Indoor and outdoor seating and super cute. I ordered a bun and socorrat....the rice was SUPER delicious!!! I would definitely recommend this place to everybody. I don't drink but they have a large variety of alcohol and beers that sound pretty good. Also, an extensive dessert menu! They have seasonal offerings as well, and have specials throughout the week. Service was fast and friendly!

Yelp
This unassuming corner restaurant is definitely worth a try. The food is a fusion of Asian and Mexican! Who would have thought of that? Well they did! Meal choices are interesting and flavorful. You order at the counter and they deliver the food to your table. The restaurant is very casual and comfortable. They even have an outdoor bar space. I got the stir fry noodle with fried tofu. It was a blend of Cantonese egg noodles, tare, broccoli cabbage, carrots and Asian barbecue sauce and a sambal aioli. Yum! My husband got the steak burrito. He was going to order a side to go with it, but it's a good thing he didn't. It was huge and very filling! He loved it! They have a huge selection of milkshakes that I can't wait to try. Definitely we will be coming back to do that and bringing the grandkids!

Yelp
once again, lunch at Dashi. I intend to explore their menu, however on my last visit I tried their wings and just had to have them again. sauced and spiced; they are the full wing. so an order of four wings is the equivalent of 8 wings elsewhere. I also tried the warm potato salad as a side. Absolutely smashing. It was The best of their sides I have tried. Dashi is just pain excellent.
google avatar

Randall S.

Yelp
We did a back to back trip into Dashi, one for lunch and one for dinner, and on both trips the food was really good and more importantly it was consistent. The kitchen and wait staff were both on point and quick. It's a comfortable atmosphere, so you can relax and enjoy your time. Had it not been so hot outside we would have sat in their courtyard and enjoyed a milkshake from the outside stand. We had a great time reviewing Dashi and can easily recommend it to anyone looking for a food fusion experience.

Yelp
Love this place. Always a good meal! I have tried so many different things and all have been fantastic. I started off loving the burrito then the Pad Thai, and now the Socarrat. I just make it into my own bowl and add a side of chicken. A little spice but It's just that good.

Yelp
I actually used to really like Dashi. The food was good, great vibe, the outdoor area was dog friendly. We liked the open bar to outdoor. Tonight is the last time we will go - the last two times were meh bit this was just not good. We walk in to some huge toxic smell - i thought it was gas. We go to the counter and I tell the girl at the counter who says she doesn't smell anything. I say it again and she says yeah other people have said things but she can't smell it. She really didn't care one bit - that was the overall attitude of evey employee there - no smile, life is not happy vibes. I wanted to leave due to the smell but we were tight on time. I got two tacos- steak and shrimp. First of all, this took a lot longer than the usual times before (we have been here at least 12 times). Next, my steak was overcooked like crispy - husband even said it. Both tacos were stiff overcooked on one side so I couldn't really bite into it. They plopped on tons of sauce and veggies - it just was not a good taco. My husband still liked his duck quesadilla. So overall, the spark has left the employees which shows in their no smile attitude, how the food was cooked and how no one cared that it stank like leaving us light headed from some who knows what chemical. We did see a few food trucks when we left and will try those. One star more just because of history and duck quesadilla wasn't bad.

Yelp
Very very horrible attitudes and disrespect and dishonesty of GenZ leftists running this dump !!!!!! Waaaay over priced and very poor quality
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
Super cool spot to grab a bite to eat and have a few drinks and laughs with friends. Prices are decent but a beer will cost you $9 so I recommend the food and the wine club! $40 gets you two bottles of wine and membership to the monthly club with discounts, tastings, and other benefits. The burrito was really great I loved the crunch of the wrap and it was stuffed with well seasoned chicken and accompanied well with all kinds of yumminess. It had some Asian fusion going on and all the flavors went really well together. I loved the sauce that came with the burrito especially once I kicked it up a notch with some habanero hot sauce from the huge selection of hot sauces. The rice and beans were good and large portion, nothing too special but they were very filling. Overall I definitely enjoyed and recommend this to the hungry traveler or local. This place has a very comfortable feel so settling in is easy.

Yelp
First time eating here and will not be the last! So much flavor! The steamed bun with pork belly was amazing... the pickled carrots, cilantro and Asian bbq sauce gave such a pop of flavor that will keep me coming back. We split the burrito and it was plenty big enough for 2 of us! Our protein choice for the burrito was the chili marinated fried chicken and it was so good. We also tried the Paloma. It was pretty good but didn't have quite the "fizz" we like. Parking is tight!

Yelp
Have been meaning to go to this place for awhile now. Have heard so many great things about this restaurant so the wife and I checked it out today. This place definitely doesn't disappoint. The food is very authentic and healthy. They offer lots of different drinks from, ginger lemonade to Boba tea, many different sodas and even have local beers & a great assortment of wines. The service is very good also. Highly recommend. We will definitely visit again.

Yelp
Dashi is by far my number one burrito spot and has the best tofu in town. You can't go wrong here really. Parking, lots of lovely spots to sit, inside there are board games to play, outside has a giant connect four set for the kids... overall great environment. The Mexican Asian fusion is bang on - specials are always creative and unique. The melty cheese inside of the burrito shell is genius. We often get take out, but every time we eat there, the owner/manager stops by the table to check in and the staff are all super friendly and accommodating. Don't miss this spot!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
There's two ways to do this kind of place: it either serves two types of food at the same time, or it mashes two types of food together into one. This was the latter... Thai food smashed with Mexican food... plus a bunch of fancy beers (many with THC and CBD) and a variety of small label wines, and music from the 80's and quirky decor. I appreciate the effort, I really do, but I really didn't like the results at all and neither did my kids. Our pad Thais came out after a fairly lengthy wait, but our burrito and taco came out like 10 minutes later, causing that awkward problem where the choice is to start eating when someone doesn't have their food, or let food get cold. The pad Thai was more like noodles drowning in sriracha sauce with crushed peanuts and some dried out, but lukewarm chicken on top than an actual pad Thai. The burrito was nothing like any burrito I have ever seen. My kid had like 4 bites and pleaded "full stomach". My taco had some sort of creamy sauce all over it and the taste of coconut. None of the flavors went together at all. It's notable that none of us took leftovers home or even considered it. I have never seen my youngest leave food behind at a restaurant before he either finishes or takes it, same for my oldest. It all felt very heavy. And it was not inexpensive either. J.Ja

Yelp
If you are ever around the Hanahan area, make sure you stop by Dashi! I dig their retro vibes, especially their cool bar and they have an excellent selection of Asian x Latin cuisine. Lucky for me they are close to my office so I get to stop by often and you cannot go wrong with anything. I usually stick to a 2-Taco lunch Crispy Chicken and Pork Belly. I have tried the burrito and it's super tasty, but it can knock you out, maybe eat half and save the rest for later! Their apps are awesome to split with a large group of friends. Fun small plates: the Patatas Bravas, Steam Buns, Thai Chicken Wings, and Duck Quesadilla. You can also pick up bottles of wine, beer, and other fun beverages, along with some ice cream in the outside truck. Parking could be tough during lunch, so get there early or after the rush, make sure you also see their cool merch!

Marina L.

Yelp
What seems like a hole in the wall is an amazing restaurant. It's got a funky kind of vide and they do food right. You have to order and pay first before you get seated. When I do go back to Charleston next time, I will make it a point to visit Dashi again to try other items on their menu.

Yelp
Dashi is a fantastic Asian fusion restaurant in North Charleston. Their food is flavorful and affordable. My favorites are their Pad Thai, burritos and banh mi dishes. The style of the restaurant is ordering at the front, taking a number and then they bring the food to your table. Service has been friendly and quick. There's plenty of indoor/outdoor seating and plenty of parking. They additionally have fun events such their paella parties, trivia and a great wine club. I recently had a 75 person event catered with shrimp, chicken, pork belly and tofu burritos paired with their cucumber salad and rice and beans side. Dashi was extremely communicative and professional throughout the whole process. I really appreciated their attention to detail and mindfulness of food allergies. I had numerous compliments from guests on how delicious the food was! I'd highly recommend eating at dashi and considering them for catering events as well!
google avatar

Julia R.

Yelp
Ordered Dashi on Uber eats last night and they did not disappoint! I ordered a Shrimp taco, chicken taco, pork belly bao bun, rice side and veggie side. This was a ton of good! 1 taco could make a good meal. The chicken taco was loaded with chicken and spices-same with the shrimp. The bao bun was absolutely delicious. The rice and the veggies made for a separate meal. The rice was flavorful and had chorizo in it while the veggies were squash/zucchini and all were cooked to perfection: I could order dashi every night and be satisfied. My order even arrived early. If you haven't tried their food-don't miss out!
google avatar

Jessica C.

Yelp
The duck ramen was so good and full of flavor. The pickled jalapeño caught me off guard a little, but it was a nice kick. Shrimp tacos were amazing. The Thai wings were also amazing. There's a lot going on on top of the wings but the garnishes add flavor. The service is great, everyone is nice and helpful. They also have a good selection of beer, seltzer, etc. to buy off the shelf. They have music bingo on Tuesdays at 7!
google avatar

Yelp
Wow! Love, love Dashi. We received a recommendation to dine here from a customer we were in town to support. This is one of North Charleston's hidden gem. Walked in to a very cool vibe. Roll up door by bar was open, music from 70s-80s was playing overhead. Cool decor that gives this place a very funky vibe. Reviewing the menu, I decided to try the GUACHO steak plate. Other members of my party tried the stirfry and the duck Ramen. Once you order your seat yourself and they bring the food over. When our food arrived, it smelled and looked delicious and it definitely did not disappoint. I thoroughly enjoyed my steak which was served with the fried rice and beans. The steak was perfectly cooked and very well seasoned with chimichurri and served over ranchero seasoned grilled onions. My coworkers thoroughly enjoyed their entrées and were equally pleased as I was in their selections. I can't more highly recommend this place and I will be back the next time I am in Charleston.

Yelp
Food was quality and very fresh. Unique menu, friendly staff and very cute dinning area. Will definitely be returning to try a milkshake.

Yelp
Such a great spot in North Charleston. The casual but very well executed Asian/Latin fusion concept is something I have been missing since moving from Orlando and Dashi fills that void exceptionally! Service was fast, friendly and knowledgeable. We tried the chicken and pork belly bao, delicious! The Asian bbq sauce and spicy mayo work so well together with the crunchy fresh vegetables. The bao was well steamed, nice and fluffy and didn't stick to each other. The steak salad with the golden egg is a must try! The herby, ginger sauce it comes with is amazing. I also really enjoyed the slice of grilled onion along with it. The steak was a little more on the medium than rare side but still delicious and not chewy at all. Definitely recommend this spot for date night or to delight out of towners with a more local-focused gem that still has amazing food.

Yelp
This is soooo good! I'm not even here to eat--meeting a friend and thought I'd just grab a snack. I've had the cucumber salad with pork belly before, but it's been awhile. I had honestly forgotten how tasty it is! What a pleasant surprise. :-) It's the dressing--a little salty, full of fresh herbs, and the pork belly on top is perfectly seasoned, browned and crusty. Had a glass of red on the side and "perfect lunch!" LOVE this place!!
google avatar

Dan S.

Yelp
4.5 stars, minus .5 for excessive salt in the Duck Ramen. The ambiance is awesome and counter service was a breeze. The pork belly in my taco was melt in your mouth perfection. My 2 tacos for $11 was the perfect size lunch. The prices are quite cheap considering the quantity and quality.

Yelp
I cannot say enough about this place!! I absolutely love every thing I've tried here. The service, food and variety for all palates is commendable. My go to dish is the beef salad with the Golden Egg. They definitely get busy, but they are worth the wait!!

Jorael W.

Yelp
Hello friendly Yelpers, This is one review I'm excited to share. I could start just about anywhere and to be honest we would end up with the same result. Splendid, Phenomenal exceptionally delicious. My visit to Dashi was solely inspired on previous reviews and wild stories of how great the food was. I will concur that the food does meet all ones requirements however there where a few items that could be better like the Chicken Burrito that is pack with an abundance of flavor but the chicken fails to meet the bar. Then on the flip side when you dive into the Thai Chili Wing you taste all the flavors of Latin Asian culture on another level. It's truly a place to visit when passing through the Charleston District. Nestled next to a local gas station few be the local community.

Yelp
A little pricey but good quality food. Even their GF options were proclaimed to have a bit of cross-contamination but we were skillfully led in the right direction to the pad Thai with shrimp. It was different than what the traditional Thai flare is but I loved the wide noodles as they're my favorite! So the fried egg on top and the radishes were easily accepted . Good flavor. Also... the patatas bravas with steak were a solid option. Nice mix of flavors. Not a lot of seating nor parking but friendly staff and pretty quick service!

Yelp
I absolutely love getting food from the Dashi food truck. The restaurant is a fun place as well. Our 1st night we went there was kinda busy, so we hopped to the little bar on the side. We walked in at the end of Bingo, but something to try, hopefully next time. There are also board games to play. Family friendly for sure. At the bar, our 1st bar tender seemed like he had been there all day... but luckily, shortly after, we were upgraded to a fresh new bartender, and she was great! Very friendly and engaging in conversation, making our visit that much better. The food was good per usual. Always a good choice when you don't want a typical meal

Yelp
Upon entering Dashi, you step into a multicultural fusion of culture. There is eccentric decor. The staff were friendly, accomodating, and caring. A unique service that is offered is a Dashi Wine Subscription. The cost of the subscription is $30. There were dance lessons occuring as a wine tasting was occuring. The staff is knowledgeable about gluten intolerance and celiac. The food had spicy flavory punch. There were a few gluten free options. The Patatas Bravas were a mouth watering delite. The food was amazing!

Yelp
Food was great! I wouldn't have expected to find an Asian & Mexican food crossover like this, but it was done so well! It's a very casual dining setting. You get up to order and pay at the counter, but then the food is brought out to you. The service staff were all friendly and provided a nice lunch experience for our group. I would definitely recommend the burrito if you stop by this place to check it out!

Eugene W.

Yelp
We got the chicken bao bun, chicken burrito, and chicken stirfry! All were delicious and the vibe is just good in here.

Yelp
Dashi is our favorite restaurant in the Charleston area. It is the one restaurant that I have "withdrawal " from if I haven't had a "fix" . There is nothing on the menu that's not good and several items that are craveable. My favorites are the pasta dishes and the soccarat. The service is always welcoming and efficient. The ambiance is as unique as the food offerings and neither are intimidating. Parking can be a challenge upon occasion but that's a function of how popular it is. Food and drink are great values while still being fresh and please a variety of tastes and appetites. I'd give it six stars if I could.
google avatar

Kat T.

Yelp
I've always heard such great things about Dashi and I'm so glad I finally go to try it! I love the vibe Inside. It's very chill dining. You order your food at the register (you can keep a tab open) and then sit and staff brings out your food to you. The food was great and the drinks are just as good! I had the tofu steamed bun. And the Asian bbq sauce was AMAZING! Ir was so good. We also had the Patatas Bravas and oh my gosh was it delicious!! I could eat a whole thing by myself. My main meal was the shrimp pad Thai. The sauce is different than a traditional pad Thai but it worked so well for this dish! Everything was delicious!! It would def come back and try more dishes!

Yelp
Dashi is such a cute and delicious place, I don't know why I haven't written a review until now. I usually order online but lately I've been enjoying their food at the restaurant. My go to meal is the pad Thai with double pork belly. I like that you can choose two protein options but their pork belly is so delicious. I also really enjoy their cocktails. My favorite so far has been their watermelon margarita that they put sugar on the rim for! Every time I go, I have been seated quickly. The service is always fast and friendly. I love the tastes that they bring to the table with their Asian fusion meals. One day I'll try something new but for now, it's all about that pad Thai!

Yelp
Weekend brunch visit. Always on point! Duck hash and stir fry with pork belly. Both absolute perfection! Could eat this every day and never tire of it.

Yelp
Delicious & unique! The inside is such a vibe and the food was amazing. As a vegetarian it can be hard to find yummy satisfying options but their fried tofu was the best I've had!

Yelp
4.5 stars: A casual restaurant where you can sit anywhere and order at the counter, though they do also take reservations. The dishes are a unique and creative take on Latin American-Asian fusion, and the portion sizes are big and worth the price. For appetizers, we tried: - Duck Quesadilla: A really unique dish packed with bursting flavors and unique textures. The duck was cooked tenderly and seasoned nicely; it paired well with the warm cheese and other traditional quesedilla ingredients. - Pork Belly Bao Buns: You get a choice of protein here, but the staff noted that pork belly is by far their most popular one. This app fell a little short of my expectations, but it was still quite good. The pork was cooked well-- very tender and generously sauced. The bun was soft. It was a bit hard to consume while retaining shape and not falling apart. For the entree, I ordered the Duck Ramen, which was really fantastic! The price seemed a little steep initially, but for the amount of food provided, it's more than fair. This was a hefty bowl packed with many unique and eclectic ingredients including a fried boiled egg (super unique and delicious), veggies, kimchi, various cuts of duck, etc. The duck was tender and flavorful, the broth was rich and bold, and the noodles were not overcooked. Really nothing to complain about here; by the end, I was really struggling to finish because it was truly a lot of food! The food came out at a reasonable speed and the staff were friendly. The spot is also easy to find and has a free parking lot.

Yelp
Came in malnourished after a long night out, and I left fully satiated with good food and good vibes. My first time here and the staff and quality of food did not disappoint. I sat at the bar and enjoyed a blood orange margarita made by kind-spirited McKenna and it was delicious. As it was my first time here I tried a popular dish, the Duck Quesadilla with a fried egg (that made it a brunch item for me) (never experienced such an array of flavors). I can't wait to come back to try all the other tempting meals that caught my eye.

Yelp
Great food and great service as always. One of my favorites in town. I had the pork belly taco and home made ginger lemonade. Both were excellent!!!

Yelp
Order at the counter dining. Great wine selection. Step back into the 1970's decor. Eclectic menu. Pad Tai was tasty. Vegetarian choices. I went with a group of friends and I'd definitely eat there again.

Yelp
This place has been my go to so many times for lunch during the work week. Everything has always been so good and when family comes into town, this is a great casual wonderful diamond experience.

Yelp
Fun, casual ambiance and good food! We came with a large group (including kids) for lunch and there is a nice patio with jumbo Connect 4, etc... They also have board games to borrow and play while you are there. Full bar plus lots of fun and unique N/A options (kombuchas and seltzers, etc...). Unique but good food where you can find something for everyone. I had the brunch tacos and they were delicious, while my 3 year old had Asian noodles with chicken.

Yelp
The chicken for the stir fry was cooked well and crispy, but the sauce was a bit too much. After the 3rd bite, I couldn't take another without trying to get as much sauce off the noodles. I'm hoping next time I can ask for less sauce, but other than that the dish was good. My husband got the burrito with chicken and pork belly. He enjoyed it a lot and was stuffed afterwards! The workers are so kind and helpful when answering our questions. Overall we will be back!
