Yelp
I have been peeping out all the Chinese and Vietnamese joints while I'm SLC. Today, we decided to go Thai. This joint is just down the road from our Airbnb which is so nice! With such a high rating, we had to come check it out. The venue is bright and beautifully decorated. I love the splashes of Thailand through their decor. For a smaller venue, they had a good amount of seating. And it was so vibrant from the big windows. I love bright spaces. There was only one server working today so it did take a minute for her to get to us. Of course I did check out the online menu to see that they had. We started off with the crab dumplings and fried tofu. For lunch I got Rad Na with tofu. The crab dumplings and fried tofu came out first. They were both fried to perfection. The crab dumplings were creamy and savory in the middle with the perfect crunchy exterior. I did dip it in the same sauce for the fried tofu. I love the sweet and savory combo. The fried tofu was crispy on the outside and so soft in the middle. Little triangles of goodness! They were both prepared perfectly! My Rad Na looked fantastic! You can see how fresh the gai lan is. There was a good amount of tofu. It came out pipping hot! I can tell it came straight from the wok! The gravy was savory. I added some chili oil to it and it was perfection! The noodles had a slight char to them and you can taste the smokiness from the char. Every bite of this dish was so tasty! As full as I was, I finished my plate. I can see why they have such a high ranking. Service wasn't all the best but man did they push out good food! From start to finish, everything was great! I'm happy I got to check this joint out during my stay here. I don't know if I'll be back anytime soon but if I do visit SLC again, it will be a must to have a meal here!

Yelp
Consistently the top Thai places in SLC for me. Lots of attention paid to plating and design as well as the drool-worthy flavors and spices. The massaman is top notch and the pad Thai tantalizing.

Yelp
Sara Thai took a reservation for our large party of 16 on a Friday night with about 90 minutes notice before arrival. When we arrived, they really rolled out the red carpet for our group. They essentially reconfigured a section of the restaurant so we could sit together. The ordering process was super easy, the food came out promptly, and everything tasted fresh, authentic, and delicious. Love that this is a Thai owned small business with a Thai mom cooking in the kitchen. Honestly, only being in town for a day or two, we weren't expecting authentic Thai food in the middle of Salt Lake City. The food, atmosphere, and service were A+.

Yelp
I came here for a solo lunch while in town for work. Everything on the menu looked great so it was hard to make a selection. I went with the pad kee mao with chicken (no tomatoes add bamboo). The meal came out quick and was presented by what seemed to be the chef-- loved that! It smelled great and was full of fresh ingredients. Very tasty but, I think it needed a pinch of salt. Would love to try some of the other items next time.

Yelp
So hungry and tired from the tour in SLC, Thai food will hit the spot. A nice relaxing Thai restaurant with private lot in the back of the building. Once arrived, we were greeting by the friendly staff. Since it was not crowded, she let us pick wherever we wanted to sit. I did liked the interior decor and the relaxing background music made you feel like at a spa. We ordered: Thai spring rolls Panaag curry BBQ pork The food was not that bad, but I really enjoyed the Panaag curry. I wished we would had ordered the Pad Thai though. A little nice convo with the waitress at the end.

Yelp
Solid Thai spot Pad see ew with seafood - noodles were a bit wet, I'm used to a little drier. Large amounts of tender sea food and good flavor. My baby loved it! Boat noodles - definitely brought me back to the streets of Thailand. This boat noodle was on par with the ones in SF. I love that they have it here as it's not common in the bay area Service was very friendly and helpful, even my daughter loved interacting with the staff Overall I'd return, solid place!

Yelp
Family run business, fast friendly service, and a very relaxing and inviting space to enjoy a meal...

Yelp
One of the best khao sois ever!! And it was surprisingly found in Salt Lake City. The khao soi was rich and full of flavor. They were also really generous with the amount of chicken in it. The soup was liquid gold! Note that the khao soi is not on the menu. But you just have to ask for it. The service was on point. The lady with the short hair had a great attitude. Although she was dealing with 7 tables, she made sure to check up on us,

Yelp
Ordered the pad kee mao gluten free and it was delicious. Noodles were well cooked and not stuck together, shrimp was well cooked. Plenty of flavor and lots of veggies (especially a lot of Thai basil, which was wonderful). Not too oily either and a decent kick in the mouth from the spice (not intolerable, and it definitely builds).

Yelp
Ordered a 3/5 spicy level tofu drunken noodles, but it was more of a 1-2/5 level so they brought out a spice rack for us. It was pretty good, but not my favorite ratio of veggies, noodles, and tofu (too much onions & bell peppers, not a lot of noodles or tofu). Waitress was great and knowledgeable about the food / spices. Have pics of the family inside, so sweet!

Yelp
My review is more a 4.5 but since I can't give half stars, I put 5! My reasoning is because the kal soh was my husband's favorite in all of Utah so far! It was absolutely delicious and the meat was so well done the fried rice we had was also perfected wok hey and flavor. My point five comes from the dry meats: the pork in our fried rice and the beef in our curry. The green curry was kind of bland and too runny and overwhelmed by vegetables that were too largely inserted. The chicken dish we had was perfection- tender chicken and my kids all loved the sauce that came with it. And the pad Thai was different than what we're used to but still so good- I love that it had a lot of bean sprouts and the tofu was crisp to perfection. Service was excellent and friendly and dining room was spacious and comfortable while being clean. The shell pendant lights are interesting, but the cushioned seating was plenty comfortable though ambiance wise it's not got the feel of too fancy or over the top. Kind of hole in the wall though it's a large space.

Yelp
Oh my goodness! I wish I had heard of this place before now. My husband and I had a hankering for drunken noodles and checked to see who had some around us. Lucky for us, we settled on Sara's Thai Kitchen. We will absolutely be returning. Tons of parking, easy to find, super cute dining area with plenty of seating. The menu looked delicious and the food was tasty and satisfying. We had the Thai spring rolls, Pad See Ew, Pad Kee Mao, iced coffee and iced Thai tea both made with coconut milk and every single item was worth returning for. I haven't had a Thai iced tea that I have enjoyed much in the past. Why did I order it this time? I was thirsty and wanted something with caffeine but I anticipated I would take a few sips and leave it there. I drank every last drop. It was perfection in a cup! The service was fantastic. Highly recommend you check them out on your next outing.

Yelp
Everything tasted great. Service was good other than the soup I ordered was not the soup I received on my to go order. I should've double checked and made sure before I left, however still disappointing to spend 20 bucks on soup and receive the wrong one. Food tastes great though.

Yelp
Visiting SLC and hungry, I turned to Yelp to see what was nearby. #1 I my search area was Sara's. And I love a good Curry w veggies and chicken over rice. It was 5 minutes away, in Sugarhouse. A very nice looking spot, with parking. A very nice server walked up and asked if I had any questions, with a grin. Of course I do! Eli is the daughter of the couple that owns the store, and I think her Dad is the chef. As my new consultant , she recommended 2 curries and I chose the Panang. Arriving quickly, I was soon enjoying healthy comfort food. Just the rich combination of mild spices , coconut milk, lean chicken and veggies I love. I asked for a hot herbal tea, and Eli recommended the Honey Lemon Ginger and was it delicious. I couldn't be happier, and I left w leftovers for round 2. I can't wait. This family business is killing' it!

Yelp
We arrived to a full house on a Friday night, so we got seated at a high top table in the corner. We were immediately greeted with smiles and warmth and the space is nice and bright! Service was extremely friendly albeit a bit slow, which is understandable considering how packed they were. We started off with Thai iced tea and crab dumplings - which were stuffed with deliciousness and came equipped with a tangy dipping sauce. The outside was flaky and had a nice crunch to it. Next, we ordered the green curry and shrimp Tom Kha. The green curry was my favorite dish of the evening, with an excellent spice to it. The Tom Kha didn't come with shrimp even though I payed extra for it. Tom Kha is my dying meal so I usually have high expectations, and would rate this one as enjoyable, yet lacking in its usual potent flavor. Overall, the space is lovely and welcoming, and dishes are well-portioned and fulfilling!

Yelp
The restaurant was clean, more of the casual dining. Excellent service . We thought the foods were ok. The papaya salad was too sweet. The Tom Yum soup was t sour and bland. The fish was too fried and overcooked. The crab fried rice was good.

Yelp
Rated by my kid: 5 stars! Chicken satay: 5/5 Pad Thai WITH seafood: 5/5 Panang curry: 4/5 Massaman curry: 5/5 Sara Thai Kitchen is clean, comfortable, and the food is great! We loved it so much that we're definitely coming back for more. Thanks, Sara Thai Kitchen!

Yelp
I saw this place around and came to give it a try. Once we walked in, it smelled really good. Everything I tried from here was so good; the lollipop chicken with the BBQ sauce was good, and the sauce was perfect in seasoning. The Pad Thai and the green curry were so good, great portion sizes. The mango sticky rice was also good. Great food and customer service that you won't regret.

Yelp
Glad we came in to try Sara Thai! We had ordered take out and didn't love it but when we came in for dinner and the service was excellent/friendly and the space was really nice. The price/portions were also good. The food was overall what we expected or better. I wouldn't get the crab dumplings again (not what we would usually want with a crab wonton/rangoon) but all of the other food was wonderful and we will absolutely return.

Yelp
We were traveling to Tahoe and saw the reviews. We walked in the restaurant and it was packed. (Great Sign) The food by far was clearly the best Thai food we have had. Many meals in CA and Chicago as we have family there. Do not second guess visiting. We will be back on our return trip from Tahoe.

Yelp
Absolutely terrific food, authentic and freshly prepared. The menu has a very wide number of selections, many of which can be made vegan. The portions are quite large and the prices are very reasonable. The restaurant space seems to be on the small side, but there's plenty of seating both indoors and out, and the environment comfortable and quiet. Service is friendly, attentive, and unhurried.

Yelp
Such great fresh food. Served beautifully in clean sunny and warm setting. Great Thai and great service.

Yelp
This place is some of the best Thai I have ever had. Great service. Pot stickers, Mango Sticky rice, Pad Kee Mao and Kao Soi chicken, Cucumber Salad-would order everything again!

Yelp
No complaints. Everything was excellent Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Wait time 5/5 Food 5/5 I sat there and couldn't find anything to say meh. I enjoyed my meal. Pra king with chicken was great not spicy at all. so you can up it if you like. The spring rolls were good! Not greasy at all. Filling was perfect. Pananag curry was flavorful and delicious. I walked away saying that was a really good lunch. I would definitely come back! My apologies for not taking pictures. Slipped my mind

Yelp
Sara Thai kitchen is probably some of the best Thai food I've had in SLC area. I gotta hand it to the service. Our waitress was really really good. She was engaging and courteous. She stayed and talked to us rather than simply taking our order and never seeing her again. There was another waitress walking around and always nearby in case anyone needed anything. Very attentive. We ordered the Prik-King dish with regular spice. It was enough for two people to share and be satisfied. Again, this dish was great. I can't wait to return and try the yellow curry.

Yelp
This place is Authentic Thai!! We came in late by SLC standards and were seated immediately. Must haves: spring rolls, potstickers , chicken satay. Very tasty and well seasoned. For mains, I had red curry with tofu. I requested it Thai hot but it was more like medium (could have been much spicier for my taste). One of us had the Pad Thai. Big serving and delicious! One of us had Thai fried rice. Huge portion! Full of fresh veggies and nice and fluffy! Have drinks before coming here as they are only able to serve beer. I had a Tsingtao. For dessert Sara made us an amazing mango and sticky rice treat that we shared. The restaurant has plenty of free parking, a welcoming vibe and amazing super efficient service. The vibe is good for families and friends or even a date. Thanks for everything Sara!!! Until next time I'm in SLC...cheers

Yelp
I love this Thai place!!! It's my absolute favorite in the SLC area. The owners and her daughter are super nice and friendly! My favorites are Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao. Full of flavors!!!! I highly recommend this place to all Thai food fans! Restaurant is clean, vibe is nice and homey!

Yelp
I'm from the east coast and great, fresh Asian food is so hard to find in Utah but this is by far the best I've found! Chicken satay was juice and the peanut sauce was amazing. Fried rice with bbq pork was just like back home.Delicious food and great service. 10/10.

Yelp
There are some things in life that are objective. Like, the sky being blue and this place being one of the best Thai in the city. Hey, I don't make the rules; it just is. I sat in this cozy space right before Sugarhouse proper where we then ordered banger after banger: Pad See Ew, Boat Noodles, to name a few. The flavors are strong, yet balanced; and, their Pad See Ew is a shining example of that. Sweet, Umami, Salty, and Righteously Spicy (if you add any of their homemade chili sauces). This is a great, no-frills, and family-owned spot where you'll be treated warmly, as well.
google avatar

John V.

Yelp
I would say more in the 4.5 range or as close to 5 as you could get. Been here a couple times and gotten the Red Curry and the Khao Man Kai. My friend has gotten the Pad See Ew twice and has enjoyed it every time. The Red Curry was a little too runny for my taste, but the flavor was there. I went on a limb and tried the Khao Man Kai hoping it was something similar to Hainan Chicken and struck gold. Loved the flavor of the rice and the dipping sauce that came with the dish. Waitress was worried it might be too simple of a dish, but it was totally what I was hoping for. Would get that again for sure.

Yelp
We tried this place for the first time after driving by several times. Called in and placed a to-go order. We ordered one dish mild and one medium. I like some spice and my husband likes less spice. We picked up the order and brought it home, dished it up and started eating. Immediately my husband was like woahhhh this is so spicy! His was the mild, I tasted it and agreed it was really hot. I like hot so that's saying a lot for me. I tried mine and it was extremely spicy like woah. We tried a few more bites of them and my husband said there was no way he could eat it and I agreed and wondered if we somehow accidentally got too spicy of dishes made for us. My husband called and talked to a nice lady on the phone, who said that yes their dishes are quite spicy and that we could bring it back in and they would remake them for us. We were starving so I hurry and jumped in the car and took both containers back. They took them to the back of the kitchen and said that it would be a few minutes after waiting about 30 minutes, the owner came out from the kitchen and began excessively telling me that I was trying to scam her and that I had eaten too much food and I was trying to get more food from her for free. I let her know that in the rush of coming back, I had forgotten to put some of the food that we had in our bowls at home back in the container. She kept going off on me for about three minutes in the middle of the restaurant with lots of other customers watching. I told her they were way too spicy to eat and she was welcome to keep them and throw them away which she did. I was in shock the entire time that this woman was accusing me of scamming her, I have never once ever been treated this way at a restaurant we spent almost $50 on two dishes that we ate hardly any of and then spent almost 45 minutes in the restaurant, waiting for them to be remade only to after all that time be told she wouldn't remake them for us. I told her that we couldn't eat them that hot and she could throw them away so we lost our food and our money. I will never be back to this restaurant again.

Yelp
Pure authentic Thai food bliss. Ate at hundreds of Thai restos and so far this is on top of my list! Love everything from their Papaya Salad to their Pad Sew Ew. Service was excellent amd everyone was super helpful and friendly! Clean and lots of parking. Highly recommeneded!!

Yelp
If you're craving authentic, flavorful Thai cuisine, this is the place to be. I had the pineapple fried rice with fried tofu, yellow curry, spring rolls--and the best chili sauce I've ever tasted. Every dish was a total standout. The pineapple fried rice was a perfect balance of sweet and savory, with juicy pineapple chunks, crisp veggies, and golden fried tofu that added just the right texture. Each bite was layered with flavor. The spring rolls? Crispy perfection. Fresh and flavorful inside, and served with a dipping sauce that had me licking the cup. But the real showstopper? The chili sauce. Spicy, smoky, and slightly sweet--it elevated every bite and tied the whole meal together. I'd buy it by the bottle if I could. The vibe is welcoming, the service is kind, and you can tell the food is made with love. Whether you're plant-based or just a Thai food fan, this place is a must. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town. Five stars, no question.

Yelp
We were so impressed by Sara Thai! It's been on my list to check out since it moved into the neighborhood, and it did not disappoint. It's quaint but they still have quite a bit of seating. I think they only had one person working the front of house because there was one person hosting, bussing, and serving through the busy part of the night. Because of this, it took us a little bit to order and receive our food because it was pretty busy, but this didn't affect our dinner at all. I got the stir fried veggies with tofu and they were delicious. The sauce was amazing and so flavorful. It came with a choice of protein and a side of either white or brown rice. SO delicious. I'm excited to come back and try other things on the menu!

Yelp
The owner and staff are so nice and the food here is wonderful. I've tried at least 5 different dishes and really love the eggplant dish and the massaman curry. Regularly get take out from here as well and they are very fast and efficient.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing service and food. The quality and taste of the food was outstanding, so many options, can't wait to go back to have it again!!

Haku M.

Yelp
I'm so glad to find an authentic Thai food in town! The food was excellent and the ambience was very cozy. I love to support a local family owned restaurant that put their hearts into making good food. Not to mention that this is the ONLY Thai restaurant in town that used Chinese broccoli for certain dishes. That tells me they are not afraid of spending more money on food costs to keep dishes authentic and tasty! Kudos to owners and staffs!

Yelp
Great food large portions Huge variety of dishes Staff was wonderful Will be back I'm a fan of this place

Yelp
OMG SO GOOD!! Finger-licking good! Looks modest from the outside with a very simple interior but the food is a blast of flavor! We are visiting from Brooklyn, NY with very high standards for food and flavor and let me tell you this spot is tha bomb! Stopped here for lunch and the two dishes were an overboard for two people so come hungry!

Yelp
I cannot express how much we loved eating here. Walking through the door we were greeted as if they knew us - kind, like we were good friends. The wait staff was amazing. The food incredible. The best crab rangoons I've ever had.
google avatar

Bonnie H.

Yelp
First time at Sara Thai was a busy Friday night. We were seated right away - service was a little slow, but friendly. We started with the curry puffs which were delicious and flaky. Our dishes were green curry, spicy eggplant stir fry, and Pad Kee Mao. We weren't asked about spice level and 2 of the 3 of us would have liked our dishes a little spicier. That's when they brought out the house made chili crisp and boy this stuff is amazing! My only regret was not buying any to go. The restaurant is a bit loud but the decor is nice and the place is very clean. I'm looking forward to returning and happy to have a place nearby for some take out!

Yelp
Very cute place with a nice patio. We love the food and how authentic it is. The price and portions are good. We will be back!

Marissa W.

Yelp
The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. It's a wonderful family-owned and operated business, and I'll definitely be returning!

Effie S.

Yelp
Favorite Thai place in SLC. Nothing else I've tried compares - the pineapple red curry is amazing and the cashew noodle thing. Also their chili oil is homemade and SO GOOD!

Wendi M.

Yelp
Delicious!! I was in the neighborhood and came across Sara Thai so I stopped in for lunch. The space is clean, modern and beautiful. Everything on the menu sounded amazing, and I settled on Tom Yum fried rice with chicken (I find Thai fried rice reheats really well). It's the best Thai fried rice I've ever had, with a definite kick of spice to it. The serving is massive. Everything is fresh and flavorful, and the service is spot on. I will definitely come here again! I wish I still lived in Sugarhouse so I could come regularly, but alas I've moved to Davis county, where my Thai options are slim. Give it a try - you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Nicole M.

Yelp
Sara Thai Kitchen was delicious. Everything we tried was fresh, authentic, had massive portions, and was so flavorful. The restaurant was clean, especially the spice rack which is typically dirty at other places. They had great classic choices on their menu. The service was great too! A must try.

Yelp
We'll have been missing some good Thai food. And once I found this place I was so happy! The servers there were so friendly and easy to chat with and had some amazing recommendations for food items. The papaya salad I would say was the best item out of the three I had. It had the correct amount of spice to it with a level three anything else I would have been in pain. I wish the Tom yum had a little but more of a sour flavor to it. Overall a great place to dine in. For sure coming back for more of the papaya salad.
