Sizzle Korean Barbecue

As a Los Angeles native, I'm no stranger to great Korean barbecue, but this place in Scottsdale stands out. This was my second visit, and it was just as remarkable as the first. The pork belly was exceptional, perfectly tender with a texture that speaks to its quality. The side dishes were a delightful complement, especially the sweet mushrooms which had a unique twist named after the restaurant. My husband and I have probably been to Sizzle over a dozen times, and our visit last Tuesday for his birthday was our favorite visit by far! The meat was perfectly cooked and so flavorful, and the quality of the mango bing soo was incredible as always. Our server Benjamin was very courteous and made sure we had enough sides throughout our meal. We really appreciate you guys and can't wait to come back!!

A lot of Asian food spots in Phoenix feel pretty Americanized, so I honestly didn’t have high hopes when I came to Sizzle Korean BBQ. But wow, this place completely blew me away! Antonio, our server, was amazing. He took great care of us and cooked the meat really well. We like it medium rare, and it came out crispy on the outside but still juicy. You can tell the meat quality here is top-notch. He even swapped out the grill between different cuts of meat, which was such a nice touch. The small plates (banchan) were super fresh and flavorful. They also had like 3 different types of sauces, even rock salt which I thought was unique! The vibe was also very lively. It’s a lot cleaner than most KBBQ spots I’ve been to, and the smoke vents over the grills are a game changer. You don’t walk out smelling like burnt meat, which made the whole experience way more enjoyable. We also got the Mango and Strawberry bingsoo, and both were amazing! The ice was soft and fluffy, just like it’s supposed to be, and the flavors were light and refreshing. If you’re looking for a legit Korean BBQ spot in Phoenix, Sizzle is it. The food, the service, and the whole experience were incredible. Big shoutout to Antonio!

The wild berry mojitos are delicious and very addicting! We loved the pork combo and all the dipping sauces that come with your meal. This was definitely a fun and amazing lunch experience.

Referrence to Desert Ridge location. Food generally tasted good except for the brisket slices in the pairing menu. It was really tough eventhough it was cooked correctly by the server. Not coming back.

The food here is average and frankly I was a bit surprised after reading the extremely positive reviews. That said, the design, presentation, and service are all great. I was still happy with the experience and felt it was an issue with what I ordered. Stick to the BBQ menu items as they are likely what this restaurant does best.

I love this place. It's as authentic as you can get for korean bbq or any of their korean dishes. They have different meat combos. Different korean stews. Love their seafood pancake.

My husband took me and my daughter here for mothers day. The food and service was amazing! Bonnie was our server and she grilled our meat to perfection. The rib eye steak was like bitting into butter. Yes, it’s more on the pricey side but that is because they serve quality meat…it’s well worth it!

Everything was so amazing!!! Nora was the most perfect server, catered to our every need!!! She went above and beyond to make our experience 10/10!!! We will definitely be coming back, and requesting Nora every time!!!

Sizzle Korean BBQ Order the items ala carte and if you want to cook, then this is not the place for you. They actually cook for you, kind of nice for that person who always cooks and doesn't eat. Plus you learn how everything is suppose to be cooked the correctly. We had the Marinated Short Rib, Ribeye and the Beef Belly, Bibimbap, Steamed Egg and Rice. The Marinated Short Rib was bueno, wonderful, excellent, amazing, fine, superb, awesome, highly recommend. Meat quality is much higher than the other KBBQ that you cook your own food. The marinated meats are so good, highly recommend, they may need to change out the grill because of the marinate blackens the grill. Remember, this is Not an All You Can Eat

Absolutely had a blast celebrating our anniversary at Sizzle Korean BBQ in Desert Ridge! We dove into the beef combo: beef brisket (so juicy), boneless short rib (melt-in-your-mouth), marinated short rib (my personal MVP), and marinated thinly sliced beef (tender and packed with flavor). The combo also came with a warm, comforting kimchi stew that hit the spot--just the right amount of kick. We couldn't resist adding kimchi fried rice as a side--charred, crispy, and loaded with flavor. It paired perfectly with everything else, especially the Ban Chan (the little side dishes that are totally free and refillable!). The banchan was a showstopper--kimchi, pickled radish, crunchy veggies, and even some spicy bean sprouts. We kept asking for more! Between the sizzling grill action, the endless banchan, and the amazing food, it was a night to remember. Sizzle Korean BBQ is officially our new go-to spot for celebrations--or just a craving for some seriously delicious Korean BBQ!

this brand of Korean barbecue is very good in Arizona. The quality of meat and ingredients is very nice and you can tell that most of the stuff is fresh. I attended a dinner after a graduation. No one was there thankfully just my family. The ambience was nice. The server was nice. Everything was pretty much spot on very much recommended this place. I did not give it a five star since I tried to use a dining pass and they kind of refused it . The dining pass was working at first, but then they seem to be disconnecting wires from their computer to make it not work. They supposedly were on with the phone on IT and we're not able to honor the $50 coupon dining pass I did not mind since the bill would have already been more than $200 but was really looking forward for that coupon.

Ok so I will give it two stars as the staff was super friendly and accommodating. The food on the other hand was not inspiring at all. I ordered Mandoo but they came out half cooked and a bit soggy. I generally dont order these when I am Los Angeles or Korea but earn in Rome. I did not order meat as i only wanted a soup and didn't want to drive to Mesa to get it. The Soondubu was not like any I have had before. Not flavorful but I would eat it if I was in a pinch. The kicker was that I found a big blob of gochuchang in the soup not stirred just a blob. Never seen this before in my 100 times of eating soontubu. Asked for extra spicy and it was quite bland. So maybe not getting the meat is not the best choice on the menu as it appears you may be better off cooking your own meal that having them do it. Mesa or what until my next trip to LA.

Didn't try any bbq meats but got a soy bean soup with beef and a seafood pancake. Both were decent but the pancake was more onions than anything, and wasn't formed very well compared to pancakes I've had elsewhere. The soup lacked much beef and was mostly tofu. Service was good although they forgot my beer and seemed stingy on the banchan - it seems you don't get all the banchan options unless you order meats.

Came to sizzle for a girls lunch date with my daughter. It's been a while since our last time here. We had lunch a couple of hours ago. The place only had one other customer. At first I thought it was closed. So.. The food was good just like last time. It was so nice to sit down and immediately be provided a nice cold bottle of water. I didn't even order a drink because the water did not taste like other restaurants tap water. It was cold and refreshing.

Very good. Tried sizzle on a Sunday evening. Ordered the seafood, pancake, bi bim bop and Bulgogi. The server brought a number of sides, which were all pretty tasty and fired up the grill. The server loaded up the grill with the meat and some mushrooms and returned to finish ,however, we cooked it ourselves. The Bulgogi was delicious. I would definitely order the seafood pancake, and the bi bim bop was fine. We will definitely return and try it another time.

This is an Amazing Korean BBQ place! The food is super delicious and the restaurant is real nice and has a cool vibe to it! It was my first time here. Upon arrival, we were seated promptly. Our booth was comfortable. They played good music, but it wasn't too loud. We ordered 4 meats and they were all mouth watering: Prime Rib Eye, Pork Belly, Thinly Sliced Beef, and Short Ribs (Galbi). We were very happy with our selection. Everything was delicious but my top 2 were the Thinly Sliced Beef and Galbi. I loved the bit of saltiness in the thinly sliced beef. The banchan was very good. We also got the steamed egg (cooked to perfection) and Bulgogi with glass noodles (excellent). Our server, Daniel, was great! He cooked our food perfectly and was very helpful. He changed out our grill a few times, too. His service is 5 stars! I asked him what were his favorites and he liked the Galbi and Grilled Squid I believe it was. What I also really liked about this place was that it never got smoky inside or at our table. The restaurant was also pristine. I highly recommend this spot if you want good Korean bbq in Phoenix, Arizona. This was located in The District shopping center. We were so full that we walked it off while shopping.

Love that they cook the meat for you--no stress, just amazing food. Everything was perfectly grilled, the sides were endless, and the service was top-notch. The ambiance was fun and low key. Definitely my new go-to KBBQ spot.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon without a reservation & was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't packed out. The restaurant is in a huge plaza so parking wasn't too bad. The restaurant has an intimate feel, which I like since it is in a big shopping center. We did the 5 beef combo with an order of kimchi fried rice & everything was amazing. All the meats were seasoned well & the waitress made sure they were cooked to perfection. The fried rice was cooked well & the egg on top really enhanced the flavor. We also had the kimchi stew which I would absolutely recommend. We had the red bean ice cream dessert & it was my first time trying it, but I'm definitely a fan. Next time I'm in the area, I'll be coming back here.

I came by myself to this location and the service here was good. It's usually hard to solo done at a kbbq restaurant but I enjoyed it here. I ordered the beef tartare for starters. The beef was more on the frozen side but after a while, it did defrost and paired really well with the pear and cucumber. For an appetizer, the portion size was huge and the taste was very refreshing !! The sesame oil and dried seaweed sheets also helped tie the whole dish together. For the main entree, I ordered the hot spicy beef soup that came with a bowl of rice. There were also noodles inside the soup! The soup was very comforting and paired well with a soju drink. The soup is also deceivingly huge. Even after having to take the rest home, it still filled up a whole quart. For $15, that is super worth it. I ended the meal with a mango bing soo. No words needed. So sweet and refreshing.

They may be known for their great barbecue, but the desserts are out of this world. Best "Bing Soo" (shaved ice) ever!!! Strawberry, Mango and Sweet Red Bean. So refreshing and yummy!!!!!

It's been a while since I had a little BBQ and this wasn't a little. Ordered a small for two came with quality cuts, all you can eat yummy sides and our waiter was attentive in cooking the meat to perfection.

My boyfriend found out about this place from a friend, and he was so excited to share that there was a KBBQ place for us to try together. I looked up the menu, and I immediately noticed how the quality of the meat looked top tier. As a note, it is also not all-you-can-eat (AYCE), so I would suggest doing the combos + ordering a la carte. It is great that your food still comes with some sides (if you order the meals or combo!) For dinner, we ordered the small beef combo with: beef brisket, ribeye, marinated short rib, marinated thinly sliced beef (bulgogi), and kimchi stew. We didn't order anything additional aside from two white rices, as well as soju (shoutout to the lychee soju and Peach ChuHai cocktail.) My favorite meats were the brisket and marinate short rib, but all of it was delicious. I would say it was the perfect amount of food for two people because I had to take deep breaths at the end of the meal. Our waitress was also a sweetheart. She was very patient and soft spoken! The workers cook the kbbq for you, by the way, so they're standing there as you're having conversation over dinner. She would leave to let the meat cook and to let us eat, so it is not overbearing or awkward at all. We do like the experience of cooking our own meat. Regardless, the food and alcohol was delicious, there was good customer service, and the place itself has a good amount of booths/tables and reminds me of KBBQ spots in San Diego.

Food, genuinely shocked. Did not expect good Korean food in Scottsdale Arizona. The food was excellent with great ingredients. The Ban Chan, the sidedishes, were fresh, neat, and delicious. The place was very clean. And service was excellent. I had Eunice for server. She was very friendly and very helpful. I suspect, I'll be coming back here often, next time, not by myself, but with friends. By the way, I had the Yook- Gae Jang. Doing a great job with this dish means these people know how to cook.

Everything was tasteless. Nothing but one meat in the beef deal was marinated. The marinate was sweet. A lot stuff was sweet. I didn't like that at all. They don't say it's sweet but tastes like sugar. We did the beef deal and two sides of rice. We felt like it's too expensive for what you are getting.

My boyfriend wanted Korean BBQ for his birthday dinner. Sizzle was close to where we were staying, so we decided to try it. The restaurant was busy, and we were told there was a 30 to 40 minute. However, we probably waited 5 minutes before being sat. I have only been to Korean BBQ restaurants where you cook the food. At Sizzle the food is cooked for you, which I think I prefer. Our server/cook was Delaney, and she was great. She cooked the meats to perfection. She also made sure to ask if we wanted more sides or needed more drinks. She made our experience great. I would definitely recommend this place and can't wait to be back.

Sizzle is the best KKBQ in Arizona, it reminds me a lot of Baekjong. They have great meat quality and the workers cook for you, so you relax while eating. The small beef combo is a good portion and very filling, we shared between 3 people and had leftovers. I wish they had a beef + pork combo, that would be the best of both worlds. The workers are so nice and the service very attentive. I've never seen a kbbq place have bingsoo, it was such a cherry on top! ig: @cravingswithcat

What a fun experience!!!!!!! I know I know I'm probably late to the game of trying Koreran Barbeque haha but I have always wanted to try it and my family and I were ALL impressed! I love that you pick your own meat/s and it comes with lots of sides and sauces to try... Also the meats were sooooo fresh and DELICIOUS! Such a fun family date night! :D (or any night you're going for!)

Probably the best restaurant I've ever been to. The food was absolutely fantastic. The kimchi soup was a new favorite. The meat was good quality.

Great Korean BBQ spot. came with a large group and ate family style and it did not disappoint. Service was great and attentive, food was incredible and unlike other spots, they tend to the hot top and flip the meat and cut It. highly recommend for a night out!

Great experience! Nice array of appetizers, meat, soup, etc. to suit everyone's taste. The sampler of side dishes that came with the meat was amazing! Service was fast and friendly; ambiance was elevated but causal, appropriate for a date or family outing. The highlight of the meal, however, was the mango shaved iced; it was truly delicious! Highly recommend!

So good! This was my first KBBQ place in Arizona and it didn't disappoint. It wasn't too loud that we couldn't talk to our group and the ambience was great for friendly catch-up! The food was fresh and the banchan was plentiful! I love how they cook your meats for you!! Usually I enjoy cooking my own meats at KBBQ but they just cooked it perfectly and so quick hahaha! Also my favorite was the Japchae! It was unlike any other japchae I've had and it was so glassy, flavorful and not too salty. The sauces they provide too are really good and gives variety for the different types of meats. I can't wait to go back when I'm back in Arizona!

I absolutely love coming here!! I come here often with my friend's and family; nothing beats their cocktails. The service is quick and they cook it for you, you can also ask to cook it yourself. The environment is cozy and the music paid nicely with the meal.

The food wasn't as good as I would expect for the price point. Cute place and the service was fine but the grill didn't cook like most Korean BBQ places which was kinda frustrating. Probably won't be back but it wasn't awful

Sizzle has top tier quality meat, you can taste the difference in the bbq compared to places like Gen and Manna (but those places are AYCE and this is not so it wouldn't be fair to compare them but I mention them in case you frequent them). Anyway, between 2-3 people we usually order two a La carte meat options and a tofu stew or dumpling soup (both of which are superb and flavorful. The tofu stew is a little spicy though, prepare for a mild kick). That in itself a little over $100. But there's also the complementary sides that includes salad, radish, kimchi, fish cake and some orders include steamed egg. This is special occasions only pricing in a casual modern atmosphere. Side note, this particular Sizzle tends to be a little chilly lol bring a jacket. The prime boneless short rib is our favorite, so tender and great marbling. Prime rib eye steak tasted so-so, nothing special. I would stick with the prime boneless short rib or their brisket was also good. Haven't tried other meats yet. We really liked our server. Depending on the meat you order, they will change the grill type too. In summary, this is a step up in KBBQ. Hope this helps, happy eating!

Was in town for a work meeting and myself and my coworkers were craving some kbbq. We found the right one! Easily one of the best kbbq places I've been to. The cuts were some of the freshest and well marinated. Our service was great. Carlo had consistently checked on us. Def would recommend this place if you're looking for kbbq in the area!

We were visiting from CA and craving Asian food--this Korean BBQ spot did not disappoint! Our server, Josue (apologies if I'm not spelling that right!), was super friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The aesthetic of the place was spot-on too; it reminded me of the KBBQ spots in Koreatown-LA which made for a really comfortable and familiar vibe. This was also the type of kbbq where they cook it for you, not AYCE. We ordered the beef combo for 3-4 people, and it was the perfect amount for us. The rib eye was definitely our favorite, loved the banchan, and the soybean stew was so flavorful. Quality and GREAT kbbq fix in AZ!

Cute cozy restaurant. Best to check In during dinner hour to be on the waiting list so they can text you when your table will be ready. We ordered the Soju bottle alcohol drinks and all flavors are so good!! The $145 meet combo was good. Marinated short ribs and beef Bulgogi was flavorful. Beef belly was thinly sliced but Flavor was plain. Endless sides was a surprise and it kept coming everytime we requested it. Our waiter whom looks like ..(young Ryan Gosling) was so attentive and enthusiastic! He was overall an awesome waiter and cooked our meat very well!! Overall-----yummy A+

2nd day of our vacation here in AZ and sizzle is one of the few spots open till late with good reviews so we had to try and food definitely didn't disappoint! + Shoutout to our server Carlo for making our experience more fun!

Food was amazing. The serving sizes are generous and very flavorful. The service was fantastic as they cook everything table side for us.

I can't remember now what all we exactly picked in our beef combo but it was good if you don't look at what you paid for it. The prices were a little steep considering the set up felt a little open and small. Also the back area of the establishment smelled of raw sewage the closer and closer you got to the restrooms. Hopefully it doesn't stink like that regularly. We were sat up front by the entrance so it wasn't an issue til I went to use the restroom after our meal. lol

This is my go-to for Korean BBQ when in Scottsdale. It's tucked away in a nice outdoor mall, and both times I went, there was no wait. I always go for the beef and pork combo. For 6 of us we ordered 1 large Beef Combo and 1 large Pork Combo. We also ordered 2 of the Spicy Cold Noodles. The meats were all really good quality and the marinated meats were perfectly marinated. You get the unlimited side dishes, and the combo comes with steamed egg, salad and kimchi stew or soybean stew - we got 1 of each, and they're both really good stews and authentic. The server will cook the meat for you and chop up the big pieces, and also there's a vent on top of each grill, so you don't feel icky with meat smell all over your clothes afterwards when you're leaving the restaurant. The restaurant is super modern and clean - you won't feel the oil slick on the floor, like some other Korean BBQ restaurants (if you know what I mean). Lastly, we finished off with dessert. The Mango Shaved Ice hits the spot after the meal. The shaved ice is so soft and milky, and the fresh mangos on top with the condensed milk drizzled on top is heaven.

We had a fantastic time at Sizzle. The food was amazing, and our waiter, Carlo, was outstanding -- friendly, attentive, and a good conversationalist.

My wife is Korean and we've been married for almost 25 years and we have had Korean food in KTowns in New York City, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Atlanta, the San Francisco Bay Area, and also in Seoul Korea. We have never frequented a Korean restaurant like Sizzle! The food and barbecue is very very authentic. The meat quality was off the charts. Bing Su, or shaved ice, was better than any we've ever had anywhere in the world. My daughter doesn't typically like to order soon dobu - tofu soup- but she enjoyed it so much that she wanted to have it again, which she never does! This restaurant is beyond authentic! And did I mention it is better than restaurants I've eaten in Korea? Service is friendly and quick. We have come back to this restaurant at least once or twice a week and we would more often if I had infinite cash. Icing on the cake: no MSG!

The restaurant is cozy and located in a marketplace. You can make a reservation via Yelp. The staff was friendly and were quick to provide us water refills and any other complementary side dishes we wanted. The beef combo was a great deal with a really good amount of food. We let the staff cook for us, you are able to cook yourself if you wanted. I would recommend white rice to complement the strong flavors of the meat. The marinated thinly sliced beef was my favorite.

Sizzle BBQ serves excellent, high-quality meat that never disappoints. The laid-back atmosphere makes it a great spot for both date nights and family outings. However, the service can be inconsistent -- sometimes great, sometimes not so much. While the food is delicious, the higher prices make me hesitate to visit too often. It's a good place, but not always the best value for the cost. Love the beautiful location on this one!

So my daughter wanted me to try this spot hidden on the inside of Desert Ridge shopping mall/area.. Yes you must walk into the Mall area( if you're walking towards the movie theater turn around and walk the other way it's a little hidden) . They won't take reservations unless you have a party of 12 or more. But you can call to get on a wait list if your a few mins out... ( nice young lady dropped the gem via phone) Without calling the wait time for 5 was 35 mins... nice area to people watch and wait for a txt via phone while your on " the wait list" ... You can cook table side or they can do it for you. ( the tip is already calculated fyi) Korean taste was 8-10 ( lived in Korea for a few military years) the pork was exceptionally tender, the kimchi soup was good, the sides were ok.. nothing overwhelming. Large portions... we tried 3 diff meats. Two stone soups & a dumpling soup that was gone to the last drop. The wait staff was very good but & kind.. the place was busy and turning over tables left & right. Small space but it works. Delicious... $$$. You will pay for deliciousness. Well done bathrooms can only be used by one person at a time... ( not a fan) bathrooms could use a makeover. Cool place otherwise. Call a few mins ahead for reservations... try it.

I just went to sizzle this past Tuesday (1/21). I had the bibimbap and the red bean snow dessert. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic! I wish I could remember the servers name, but I do recall him being quite tall and having glasses.

Yes the cuts are VERY expensive and were good however the server that we was in a rush and didn't care if she was flinging HOT oils and juices all over our faces. Give a warning or something come on....For a place that has the grills right in front of you but you're just not allowed to cook your own food so you're just sit there hoping the server will say something.

Sizzle is by far our favorite korean restaurant in AZ. The quality is excellent and consistent. We come here 3-5 times a month and always get their Kalbi and spicy tofu soup. Customer service is amazing.

I'm spoiled by this place as it is but then Danny goes and spoils me even more every time I see him. You can't beat the service, authenticity, and quality of the food at this place. The ambience is clean, welcoming, and comforting. 11 out of 10- would recommend. I'm. It including a pic because I made a complete mess of things XP come see for yourself.

Having dined at various Korean BBQ spots in Los Angeles, New York City, and many parts of Korea, I approached Sizzle Korean Barbeque in Arizona with high expectations. Regarding their meat selection, I found their Beef (소고기) options best. I discovered their Pork (돼지 고기) options to be not as fresh, but perhaps it was just a bad batch the two times I've been there. We ordered the large Beef Combo (choosing options 차돌박이 Beef brisket, 꽃살 Boneless short rib, 양념갈비 Marinated short rib, 불고기 Marinated thinly sliced Beef, and 김치찌게 Kimchi stew). Although it says the large is for 3-4 people, it certainly was not. Sizzle is excellent and somewhat dependable, especially compared to other Korean BBQ restaurants in Arizona. However, Sizzle is on the pricier side, and I am not sure if it is justifiable, given the portion sizes and the overall quality of the food. I would say that Sizzle's prices are about what I would pay in LA, but not as cheap as Korea, or as expensive as NYC. If you want an AUTHENTIC Korean BBQ or haven't tried it before, or you're an avid Korean BBQ fan with no budget, Sizzle is your best option in Arizona. However, if you just want Korean BBQ, plenty of other places offer slightly less quality meats at a tremendous fraction of the price.

So good!!!! Are server was Kenny and he was awesome. Place was super clean and everyone there was super nice! Food quality is also amazing and mostly everything is made fresh that day.

Out of town, and stumbled upon this Gem! Food was perfect to share for a group of 4! We were seated quickly for a Sunday night. Meat was incredible. Shoutout to the best server Josue! He was incredible at attending to our needs and loved the communication.

The flaw in the business method here is that you have to make small talk with the person cooking your meat at your table stove. But let's not let that take away from a restaurant where vegetarians basically need not apply. If you're coming here you're gonna smell like meat after and that's exactly what Jimi wants in a restaurant. 5 stars

Had dinner here for the first time after a movie the other night. My experience with Korean BBQ is limited, but we found the menu easy to navigate, Our server was also helpful and answered all our questions. It was fairly busy for a Tuesday and we were told it gets really busy on the weekends. You should take this into account as they don't take reservations. We chose all beef meats and were not disappointed in any of them. We had brisket, short ribs, and ribeye steak and all were excellent. Your dinner also comes with a number of sauces for dipping, along with salad to share. The ambience is somewhat sterile, but very clean and inviting at the same time. Gave it four stars as prices are pretty steep, but will be back when mood hits for this type of cuisine.
