Wai Gong Fu Tea House was such a vibe!! We learned so much and it was such a beautiful and unique experience. Some things we learned: ⭐️Each tea has a different steeping time. ⭐️ Traditional tea will taste different depending on what vessel you drink it out of, similar to wine. ⭐️ In China you have to be University educated to own a tea house. ⭐️ Tea bag tea would be frowned upon in traditional tea countries, like serving McDonald's as a traditional meal. Everything was a highlight, we learned so much and consumed so much tea. Our instructor was wonderful and we felt like we not only I got a history but cultural lesson at our visit. If you are interested in a traditional tea ceremony, not tea and cake this is your place to learn and enjoy. I absolutely love everything about this place. Amy is so incredibly knowledgeable and has a wonderfully warm personality. The Gong fu tea experience was such a pleasure, and served as a much needed brain reset. The teas are high quality, delicious, and generously portioned for their prices. The serving wares are all stunningly beautiful and well made. While the location is very much tucked away in a quiet little corner, I feel like that lends more to the quiet intentionality of going there, instead of the busy hustle and bustle it might have if it was on a main drag somewhere. All around, I can't wait to go back.

Came here as our first stop to celebrate my sister's birthday with a large group. Amy was so kind, warm, and inviting and most of all knowledgeable. This is a wonderful experience for not just tea lovers, but history lovers as well. You can tell this is an experience rooted in love.

We had a wonderful experience here. We took the class to learn how to make tea. We made black and green tea and it was the best black and green tea we had ever had. This is a completely different experience from any green or black tea you have ever had before I almost guarantee you. It actually made me realize why people drink black and green tea. If you say you don’t like plain green and black tea, that’s what I said too until today. If you decide to take the class, forget everything you know about tea.. it was all a lie😂. Wayne provided us with so much information we had no idea about. This would be an amazing thing to do with a group. If you decide to do this ask Wayne about his travels he has some amazing stories. After we left we were sitting at dinner and realized we all felt amazing after drinking the tea so we came back and decided to purchase some tea as well as a tea making set to share this experience with some family members who live out of state for Mother’s Day. Amy was very helpful in helping us pick out everything we wanted and needed. From their first hand personal knowledge from their time in china to their genuine passion both Wayne and Amy make coming in a fantastic experience for any customer. There is an incredible selection of teas as well as tea cups and sets and everything you might need. If you have the time I highly recommend taking the class to learn how to make the tea yourself you will definitely get your moneys worth or even just going to one of their tea tastings. If you are a local or simply in the Atlanta area this is a must go in my opinion.

The Traditional Gong Fu Tea Experience at Wai’s Gong Fu Tea House was fantastic. Amy was warm, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience feel welcoming and intentional. We learned a lot, felt completely at ease, and left genuinely excited to come back again. A special place that we’re happy to support—highly recommend.

I love this place. I was introduced to this place by a friend for a meet-up, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the people. This a little hidden gem for all true connoisseurs of tea. Our host, Amy, is amazing. Her love and knowledge of tea are evident as she presents the different teas. You'll learn more than enough about tea during her presentation. It's a great outing for a group. After the presentation, you are welcome to purchase the tea that was presented or others. Fair warning, this is a tea house, and as the name suggests, they serve tea and only tea. Either come with a full stomach or be prepared to go eat somewhere afterward. Amy suggested Food Terminal, which was not a disappointment. So do yourself a favor and go book a session with Amy.

Attended a special Puer tea cake opening last night. It was out of this world delicious. I received a sample from this special tasting facilitated by Sifu Wayne. You must come to see one of my favorite places in the world.

What a beautiful oasis. Wai's went far above my expectations. We booked the Gong Fu tea experience for my birthday and had the most lovely time. We laughed and learned so much. It felt like we were enjoying tea with an old friend. For your tea experience, you get to choose your own flavors from a wide variety of high-quality teas. We even got an extra special one for my birthday. In addition to many types of loose-leaf teas, they also have a large selection of beautiful tea pots, cups, and even little tea friends. The shop is open if you would like to purchase tea or any of the other items without the experience. However, I highly recommend it.

The tea is as authentic as it gets! Straight from China for your tasting pleasure! Some of the best tea you can find in all of the south! I absolutely loved this place, from its traditional Chinese decoration, to the free tea tasting on Mondays (past 6:00 pm), and the expert knowledge that the owners have. The tea masters give you their full attention and are happy to talk about tea for hours if possible. Great for private tea parties and for dates!

Reserved the tea experience to learn about the art of tea. This was an interesting experience and you can definitely tell they know tea. The day we were supposed to go there was an early morning storm and power outage which Wayne the owner reached out to me to let me know and we worked together throughout the morning hours so that when power did come back we could come in for our experience. Worked out that we could go explore the city and make it in for tea at 1:30pm. The shop is off the main road and actually located in more of an industrial area. They have an inviting space and they are so nice! Especially Amy! She was so welcoming and you could really see her love for tea as well as learning about her customers. We traveled from Tampa to have this experience given our love for tea and it was nice learning about tea and being able to sample their offerings. I fell in love with their Jasmine tea. I also loved the water warmers they had but were out of stock when we were there. Great experience and highly recommend!

Tucked away in an unassuming building is this gem of tea tastings and expertise (along with a dojo in the back). Everyone there is so passionate about the tea, different styles, different flavors. I went with some friends for the Monday evening tasting and it was nice to just sit and enjoy cups of tea out of the same pot and taste as the flavors deepen over time. Definitely try this place out if you want a fun new chill experience! (Seriously, the outside area does not so this place justice)

I honestly can't recommend this locally owned business enough! We came here as a special way to kick off our honeymoon before we headed out of town, and they definitely delivered. My husband and I had recently gone to a Chinese tea house in Singapore and were searching for a tea set after that experience, so not only did we get to enjoy the 1 hour tea, but we got to shop around and find the perfect set and tea leaves here as well! It was all so fun and impressive. The table that they imported from China is a true work of art and sitting with the owner and getting to hear her story and gain more knowledge of tea was a pleasure. Each year, they travel back to China and stay with the tea farmers to get the best tea! I don't believe they do food here, but that did not at all take away from the experience. I can't wait to go back and maybe participate in the tea parties that they have on Mondays for their community. I can see the heart that they put into this business. It is so calm and beautiful there!

I bought the Gong Fu Tea Experience for $45 a group, and it was one of my most favorite experiences in ATL! From the moment I walked in, the experience was unlike any other. Amy, our tea master, guided us through a delightful journey of tea, from discussing the intricacies of tea fermentation to the different types of cups and brewing methods. The setting at Gong Fu Tea House is simply mesmerizing, with a jade table that creates a calming atmosphere. Turning off the lights, as suggested, adds an extra layer of serenity to the experience. This place is perfect for bringing friends along to share in the tea journey. Amy recommended having 2-3 people to get the most out of each tea session, and I couldn't agree more. It allows for a diverse tea tasting experience and a great opportunity for engaging conversations. Amy's expertise extended beyond tea itself, as she engaged in enlightening discussions about tea versus coffee, the differences between tea leaves and powder, and the significance of the color of tea. We even delved into caffeine levels, providing a well-rounded education about the world of tea. Amy discussed how they only source from reputable and family known farmers in different provinces of China. The emphasis on quality tea is evident throughout the experience. The tea leaves were not only of great length but also full and unbroken, guaranteeing a rich and robust flavor in every sip. Amy's expertise shone through as she explained the ideal steeping times for each tea, ensuring we got the perfect infusion every time. The selection of tea cups, whether porcelain or clay, added a unique element to the experience. I was particularly captivated by the pure jade cups, which enhanced the overall aesthetic and sensory experience of sipping tea. The same attention to detail extended to the brewing cups, with the choice of porcelain or clay to suit different tea varieties.One detail that truly impressed me was the practice of washing the cups between each tea, ensuring that we could fully appreciate the distinct flavors of each brew. One of the highlights of our visit was watching as each tea brew slowly unfurled its leaves, revealing the artistry and craftsmanship behind every cup. It was my first time trying red and pu'er tea, and I was thoroughly impressed with the nuanced flavors they offered. Amy's guidance on the importance of the first pour being lighter and the second being more potent proved invaluable, and her insight on the longer steeping times resulting in a more bitter taste was spot on. Pu'er tea, in particular, stood out as the most forgiving of them all. The tea selection at Gong Fu Tea House is exceptional, and I had the pleasure of trying the Huang Shan Mao Feng, Kee Mun Hong Cha, Jasmine Flower Green Tea, and Silver Pieces Pu'er Rock Tea. Each of these teas had its unique character and charm, leaving a lasting impression on me. To top off this incredible tea journey, I couldn't resist bringing home a piece of Gong Fu Tea House with me. I purchased 50 grams of the Jasmine Flower Green Tea for $18 and 100 grams of the Silver Pieces Pu'er Rock Tea for $48 . These exceptionally low prices, yet such high quality, made it impossible to resist the temptation. Gong Fu Tea House truly provides a unique and affordable opportunity to explore the world of tea. Amy's expertise and the serene ambiance of the establishment make for an unforgettable tea experience. Whether you're a seasoned tea connoisseur or just dipping your toes into the world of tea, this place is a must-visit. I will definitely be going back to try the wood table and more teas!

If you love tea like I do you'll love this place. You not only learn about the tea but you're shown how to make it, and then taste it. It's very personal with a nice selection of teas to choose from. Kudos to Amy who's vast knowledge of teas keeps your attention the entire time.

Upon entering the tea house, my wife and I were greeted warmly by the owner Wayne. After a brief discussion of how I tripped across gong fu on YouTube and became obsessed with the practice, Wayne selected a white, Oolong, and Black tea to taste and introduced us to Amy. She was very knowledgeable, and we had great discussions of how the teas were changing with each steep and how the materials of the vessels can impact the flavor profiles. It was amazing how tea varietals that we enjoyed already with honey and condensed milk could taste naturally sweet and savory without those added ingredients. It was great to learn the close connections Wayne and Amy have to the family farms that provide the outstanding teas. It is not only a relaxing experience, but it is also a great way to hold conversations with complete strangers over a common interest in something as simple (yet complex) as tea. For our whole lives we were unaware of the potential in the loose teas we were buying, and we were also wasting leaves that could still offer many more cups and joy. Well, that won't happen anymore!! After our session, Wayne was great in helping us navigate how we wanted to start our journey at home. We selected an elegant Gong Fu set that will be with us forever. We also added a clay pot that I am seasoning tonight with Golden Eyebrow and a clear sharing pitcher. We love to see the changes in color with each steep. We are already talking about the next time we go back and what new teas we may discover. I am looking forward to tasting Pu'er for real (the only time I have tried it was in a tea bag) and I am sure it doesn't do it justice. Great experience at wai gong fu. Each tea was delicately prepared and served . The owner explained each tea in detail . Definitely worth the experience. Group of 3-4 makes it easier to do the experience!

I recently had the extreme pleasure of a tea tasting at Wai's Gong Fu Tea House with three of my friends, and the entire experience was exquisite. Our hostess and guide was Amy, and she shared her deep knowledge of the selection and preparation of tea. We sat at the Jade Table, which is carved from a massive solid piece of jade, and enjoyed the sounds of the embedded fountain. We also met Wei, who was a gracious host; he really helped put us at ease. Each tea we sampled would have been outstanding on its own, but were truly special presented together. We are spreading the word about this gem on the Westside, and want to return as soon as we can!

This was an amazing spot. This is the greatest hidden gem Atlanta has to offer. Amy was so kind and willing to teach us about tea. I will be a regular here. It's also very beautiful learning of the tea tables and the great teas. It's a perfect date spot. I recommend bringing friends.

I cannot recommend coming here enough, Sifu Wai and his wife were incredibly welcoming and nice, not to mention extremely knowledgeable on all things Gong Fu related. As someone who has some experience in Gong Fu tea previously I found this to be a great time meeting someone in person who also enjoys the traditional style of tea as well. There are packaged teas as well as a huge variety of tea ware for sale within the store ranging from very affordable starter sets to some beautiful hand crafted pieces. The Teas were great quality I tried a Puer and green tea and found them both to be amazing. I will be becoming a regular here if I can and would recommend that you do the same!

I was looking for a place to "sit with tea". I did a search and found Wai's tea house. Wai welcomed me and when I entered the space I was instantly really happy I made an appointment to sit with him and learn about tea. Wai welcomed me and showed me around. We sat for an hour and enjoyed many varieties of tea. I was so nourished from this experience and will return many more times! This would be the perfect place to bring friends or a date. He has tables set so that you can make tea for Yourself. Although, I highly recommend sitting with him first to learn!!!

Best tea drinking experience in Atlanta! Amazing tea ware and tea collection from China

Great vibe! I learned so much about tea and Wayne is a nice guy, so knowledgeable and nice! I had the best tea I've ever tasted.

If you've ever searched for tea in atlanta, you'll see an endless list of bubble tea shops and cafe's that serve cheap tea bags. However, 3 weeks ago I stumbled across this gem and did not believe it was real. I called the shop to schedule a tea tasting and Sifu Wayne, Kung Fu master and avid tea conniseur, answered right away. As soon as I walked through the entrance, I thought I was in China. Wayne welcomed me like family, and I experienced the most delicious and immersive tasting with high quality loose leaf white, red, puerh, and green tea served traditional gong fu style over a majestic wooden tea table. I have completely replaced my old coffee need with far healthier teas, which each have unique effects on focus. I've gone back every weekend since first visiting to introduce friends to this incredible place, and strongly encourage you to come experience it for yourself.
