Gelato Boy

Gelato Boy is absolutely amazing a must try when you’re in Boulder! They have so many flavors and options, including choices for those who are lactose intolerant, which is great. The line can get long, but it moves quickly, and the staff are super friendly. You can sample flavors before deciding, which makes it even more fun. Every scoop was creamy and delicious. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Colorado!

Really lovely gelato place, ended up going twice with a big group. Especially enjoyed the pistachio and dark chocolate. They also have quite a few dairy free options. Will be back!

A great spot to grab some gelato after a meal at one of the local restaurants. I have the brownie à la mode a try and my ice cream flavor was cookies n cream. The service was quick and it wasn’t busy at the time. Everything tasted good 👍🏾

Great spot if you want lots of variety gluten free gelato options! I am always looking for gelato with different things mixed in and to be able to try cheesecake and cookies and cream was a treat! The other ones looked delicious as well. They also have GF cones and brownies you can get. Would 100% recommend the salty cookies & cream! Ate my gelato so quickly I forgot to take a picture until I was halfway done

This is hands down one of the best frozen desserts I've had in the Denver area. My husband and I shared Dulce de Leche, Birthday Cake, and Gooey Butter Cake + Caramel. I couldn't pick a favorite. All 3 were fantastic. I will absolutely be back for more!

Yesterday my day got a little brighter! I did order and thoroughly enjoy my delicious creamy berry cheesecake gelato, however, that wasn’t the reason. It was because of the level of customer service I received from Macie and Ella. They started a friendly conversation asking where I was from, and why I visiting Boulder. I told I was here because my daughter just had surgery. They were kind, caring and wishing her a full recovery. They surprised me when they offered to take some savory gelato for my daughter. Macie and Ella put I smile on my face and when I drove back to the hospital, I surprised my daughter with a delightful treat. It’s always the little things that have a big impact….thank you Macie and Ella ❤️

Brilliant flavors (15 with 5 vegan), refreshing taste and texture, good prices ($6.75 for 3 scoops) and they allow sampling. Collectively our favorite flavors were the lavender poppy (unique and delicious), chocolate hazelnut crunch (done really well), and the gooey butter cake with caramel (rich and wonderful). The triple berry sorbet and dark chocolate sorbet were also pretty good. The staff were friendly, there was ample seating and they also had brownies, waffles and milkshakes. Only small drawback was one of my flight scoops had a few shavings of ice, likely from water freezing after scooping with a wet scooper.

As someone who loves gelato but is lactose intolerant, I loved the variety of non-dairy flavors Gelato Boy had! I got the dairy free chocolate and the cookies and cream, both of which were creamy without being too sweet. The chocolate was reminiscent of chocolate sorbetto I had in Italy, decadent and slightly bitter, and most importantly, didn't have a coconut milk base (like most df options in the States do). Of course I could never go wrong with cookies and cream, and this still held true after trying Gelato Boy's take on it. Personally I'd prefer even more cookies in the ice cream, but it was delicious nonetheless. The shop is located on a fun lively street with many restaurants, making it a the perfect post-dinner dessert stop. The staff was also vey friendly and patient, proactively offering large samples while waiting in line. I didn't feel rushed at all, which I usually feel is the case in ice cream shops. Can't wait to be back and try more of their lactose & lactose free flavors!

Gelato Boy is located at one end of Pearl Street Mall and, for me, is the perfect sweet treat at the end of a hot, fulfilling day exploring in and around Boulder! The aesthetic of Gelato Boy is so cute and the branding is minimalistic and on point! They know how to market their stuff, but truly they don't even need to try too hard with their marketing because their gelato and other offerings truly stand on their own! They have such unique flavors of gelato here, along with plenty of classics, so you truly can't go wrong with any flavors! Of course, you are allowed to get tasters of the ones you're interested in to help aid your decision! Given how full I already was and a bit tired, I wasn't feeling *too* adventures, so I ordered a "tamer" flavor of salty cookies + cream, but my love for cookies + cream is next level, so I thoroughly enjoyed my one scoop of this and it just really hit the spot! The other flavors that really interested me that I'd love to go back and get proper scoops of were: lavender poppy, Sicilian pistachio, dark chocolate, and literally every sorbet flavor!! There's something for everyone here, they even have gluten free and dairy free options as well!

We went here after a visit to the University...and it did not disappoint. Great flavors. Loved my vegan rocky road...and yes I could not tell the difference. Great location...right on pearl in the middle. Great friendly service...they will let you try any flavor you care to.

This place is really cute and has quite a few options. The flavors are fun and unique and there are a lot of options for people with different allergies. I highly recommend coming here and I will be back again soon. They also have a rewards program you will want to look up before you come and a Yelp check in deal as well! The service was fast and was kind and fun. A small space but inside a bigger building where you can get out of the heat if you need to.

In the mood for something cold and something sweet. This place hit the spot and the line had diminished. Great service and we were allowed to have a taste sample. I fell in love with the Pistachio. I had ordered 2 scoops and a waffle cone ( I checked in and I got the waffle cone for free!). The quality of the ice cream was on par and the flavor was delicious. It was almost as if I was in Italy again. As we got our treats, we couldn't believe our eyes. There was a long line waiting to be served! We came just in time and we enjoyed it outside. They has a few seats just outside their entrance. They also have a few merchandise for purchase.

This place has such yummy gelato. We got a regular with three scoops to share between the two of us. Pistachio, lavender, and dark chocolate. We both loved the thick texture and rich flavors. Price was very good for the area

We stopped by this ice cream shop while walking around downtown Boulder. They had few vegan options so we had to try. I got a vegan Maple Pecan Biscotti and it was amazing! You couldn't really tell that it was dairy free. Hubby got the Pistachio and Chocolate Hazelnut Crunch and he also enjoyed it a lot. The prices were pretty high but it's downtown Boulder so what you'd expect... Staff was very friendly, they have few chairs outside so you can enjoy your Gelato on fresh air.

I recommend the lavender poppy, Sicilian pistachio, coffee chip, and strawberry flavors. The ice cream flight is perfect for 2-4 people to share and you get to try a variety of flavors.

So many cool flavors still. We had not been in a while but after eating at Illegal Pete's almost next store, we could not resist stopping in to this very local dessert option. My husband saw one of his favorite flavors, sweet cream with chocolate chips. The cone serving was huge and he loved it. I am limited on flavors these days so I tried the Sicilian pistachio and it was perfect. The staff was quick to serve and friendly. The other indulgers were friendly too as we sat out on the patio area. I am so glad they survived the troubled pandemic years and not at all surprised and not saddened at all, that the place across the bricks that claimed "gelato" as a feature, yet in reality served factory made ice cream from a midwest state, did not survive. We will be back the next time on the Mall.

Unique flavors and extra creamy--delicious! I got a small size with two of their flavors. The first flavor was something like caramel cake batter, and it was sweet and tasty. The caramel flavor came through well, and the batter chunks didn't take away from the creaminess. 8/10 The second flavor stole the show: pineapple blood orange creamsicle. Every bite was enjoyable, and I surprisingly tasted both the pineapple and orange equally. It was very creamy as well. 10/10 The service has no complaints on my end, and the gelato was expensive (around $7 for my tiny portion); however, the creaminess and exotic flavors warranted or at least justified the price.

I am OBSESSED. My roommates and I come here at least 2x/ week. They have some of the best vegan ice cream I have ever tasted and you can even get a warmed up brownie with your ice cream. The flavors always taste very authentic and fresh. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and they give you unlimited samples on these cute mini spoons. This particular location also has a great exterior vibe and so much seating on benches around pearl street.

Tasty after dinner treat. Pricey for what it is and there's definitely better ice cream and gelato. But it did hit the spot.

Does Pearl Street need two Gelato Boys? With ice cream this good, the answer is totally yes. We stopped by and I got a small with both salted cooked and crème and a caramel-mixed flavor as well. So so good. My only complaint is the portion was a bit modest. But the flavors are on point. Would totally come back.

Main focus is gelato/ice cream, but they do some fancier things involving it. Including waffles/brownie a la mode, milkshakes, affogatos, and gelato lattes. We would that they weren't too sweet, and I definitely appreciate the options for those who don't have as much of a sweet tooth. Gelato Boy is an ice cream franchise with four brick-and-mortar locations: two in Denver and two here on Pearl Street, Boulder. This is specifically the Pearl Street East End location, which has all the outdoor seating. They have the little enclosed patio area where people can sit up along the bar running along the sides, and you'll find it a bit of a tight squeeze on warmer days. Indoors has little if any seating and seemed to be mainly arranged to fit the line coming in. Just down the street, the West End location specifically has all the indoor seating and is made up more like a cafe. Both have the exact same menu. One place to pick up a cone, and one place where you can sit down and eat with friends and children. Pearl Street Mall is four blocks of shops and restaurants that are popular for tourism and barhopping. It's been blocked off for restaurants to have outdoor patio spaces, so you have to use the metered street parking or one of the surrounding public garages. Garage parking is free on Saturdays and Sundays and, depending on the garage, free after 6 PM with a flat rate. If you don't want to pay for parking or if it's that busy (people also park there for work), I've been told that you can also park at the Table Mesa parking garage (which is free) for long periods of time and take the bus here. You'd need to buy a bus pass if you're not a student (who rides for free). Would recommend visiting if you're interested in artisanal ice cream. They market themselves as a healthier kind of ice cream, which really works considering how health-conscious Colorado culture tends to be. Going off what I've seen online, it's why they have a particular focus on having really good dairy-free and vegan options. Even their regular gelatos use local dairy from Colorado's prominent cow and dairy industry. And if you find you like them, they ship pints nationwide. Also, check out their seasonal flavors. At the time I went, the seasonal menu was a tea and coffee series, including a London Fog/earl grey flavor that I liked and a Thai Iced Tea flavor my brother preferred. Don't know if it was to specifically appeal to all the CU students, but it certainly worked for us. Overall, while ice cream isn't the absolutely best treat in the middle of winter, if it's warm enough to hang out and shop along Pearl Street, then it's warm enough to get it. With their hours, it's perfect for when people tend to visit and wander around Pearl Street. Basically, good for after a lot of the classes on the weekdays, after lunch and dinner on the weekends, and just generally very convenient to grab a cone when window-shopping. I'm planning to visit in the summer next time, and I'd like to come back and try getting an ice cream flight.

Great ice cream. Unfortunately they do go light on the scoops. The waffle cone is so good. The texture is just right in being soft and crunchy.

Best gelato in Boulder Vegan options are great - highly recommend the dark chocolate. They also have GF options, including a brownie a la mode! Creative flavors & high quality.

Delicious gelato that filled me perfectly after dinner. My husband got the affogato and loved it while I got the hazelnut which were both great! Very nice workers as well!

The flavors were all pretty good but I liked the pistachio best. The line was out the door but moved really quick and out the door in less than 5 minutes

it is so good and the service was amazing and fast. I would definitely come again. I also like that you can by some for on the go. the price is also not that bad and they have many new flavors.

I'd like to mention that the gelato at Gelato Boys was delicious. However, I noticed the establishment isn't wheelchair-friendly. There might be an entrance at the back from Pearl Street, but it wasn't visible to me. I'm uncertain if this breaches ADA guidelines. It was disheartening to rely on my son to order for my wife and me. Had I been alone in a wheelchair, I wouldn't have been able to enter. It's essential to consider accessibility when designing and setting up shops. A disability-friendly ramp should be a minimum requirement.

The place was busy. A line that moved pretty quick. They offered sample tastes of flavors. They used little metal spoons. That was cute. The coffee chip gelato was yummy. My husband thought salted cookies and cream was good but not as good as mine. Serving size was okay for the price. It wasn't inexpensive to have dessert there.

I run to this spot every time I'm in Boulder. I first came across it during a walk down Pearl Street Mall. Their Lavender Poppy flavor is such a staple summer scoop for me! It's so refreshing and light, but still creamy. Getting it with one of their delicious waffle cones takes it from a 10 to a 13492083. You can't go wrong with any of their flavors. A classic Mom favorite is their pistachio flavor (every Mom I've taken here, including my own love it). If you're feeling adventurous, try Buttered Popcorn if it's available. It's much better than you'd think! They also have a nice selection of dairy free options. The decor here is picture friendly! Your gelato Yelp pic will look good at almost angle here (yes both inside the store or even on Pearl Street)! I normally wouldn't note this, but I love the font they use for their menu. The staff is friendly and patient when you ask to try a bunch of different flavors. When you can't decide on one I recommend getting a flight. I did this with my best friend once and we had a great time devouring each flavor. Gelato Boy is the taste of summer! Check it out ASAP!

While visiting CO, we came across this cute little gelato shop on Pearl Street. We got their Gelato Flight (Mint Chip, Very Vanilla, Strawberry, Rocky Road, Coffee Chip & Salty Cookies Cream) I'm super indecisive LOL so this was perfect. The scoops sizes were great as well. (1 scoop was already around $5 whereas the flight was only $9.50) I love that they make their gelato daily and have ton of options! (Dairy & Gluten Free as well) Of all the flavors, my fav was definitely the mint chip and the rocky road! The consistency of the gelato was great. Also when we stopped by it was around 7:40 pm or so and there was a line then a line out the door behind us. I didn't realize they closed at 8 pm. So it was super nice they were still accepting customers and were super nice about it. I definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area! & we'll definitely be back next time we're in Colorado:)

Gelato was extremely good and they didn't have a problem with us bringing the dogs in for a second. They even gave them a pup cup. Service was excellent

We came here visiting from Texas and had some delicious gelato. What really stood out was the great service we received from Sophie. The shop was PACKED while we were there and she was the only person working. She did such an amazing job being efficient, while still making everyone feel like they were the only people there. She was kind and helpful and made it an even better experience.

Gelato Boy has two locations, both on Pearl Street, but one is at each end of the street, so whichever way you enter into Pearl Street, you will definitely see it. Their menus are posted both inside and outside, and they have signs on the ground to maintain social distancing. Understandably, no tasting is offered at this time, but I can vouch that their gelato was so good that my friend and I came back for another one the day after! I really enjoy their berry, lemon, and pistachio flavors, and will definitely come here again in the near future! Staff was very friendly as well.

This is the best we had after a long time! We ordered a scoop of pistachio, lemon, and pineapple. Everything was spot on and so delicious. The ice cream melts in your mouth while your pallet is relishing the flavors ! The fruits, sweetness and the cream blend beautifully! Must try. Their individual scoops are good for one person considering how good they are!

I love gelato. Walking in on a cold January night, we were the only guests. The young woman who served us made us feel special. Her focus was on us, not her phone or the time clock. She's a student at CU. My first impression of the fairly small case with a limited selection was to be kinda disappointed. Our server recommended the pistachio and the chocolate hazelnut. Both are outstanding. I chose the black raspberry chocolate chip to join the pistachio in a waffle cone. Wonderful treat. Better yet, we had superb and thoughtful service. Thanks again, Bill

Gelato Boy is my favorite place to stop for dessert when I'm in Boulder! I always get the Lavender Poppy and the Sicilian Pistachio but decided to try the Coffee Chip! The service at Gelato Boy is always positive no matter how busy they can get! I love all the employees at Gelato Boy and love the positive vibes! I highly recommend Gelato Boy

If you seek an amazing desert experience, with a friendly & knowledgeable server, you must visit Gelato Boy in Boulder! I ordered and affogato, which is a shot of espresso poured over delicious gelato! I went for the Gelato, but left regaled with stories of wild horses and training techniques by our friendly server, AJ. I know this will be a favorite place for us well into the future!

I'm vegan and was so happy to find some vegan flavors! They had dark chocolate, limoncello, and strawberry. They also had a lot more vegan options available for sale by the pint. Perfect for the very hot days we experienced while on vacation here!

I bought the Buttercake and Caramel flavor at Sprouts and was not the least bit impressed. Gelato Boy may as put a Krispy Kreme filled donuts in vanilla ice cream because that's basically what you're eating. Even Talenti is better and qualifies as a gelato. The consistency was gritty and more like ice milk. The tired old 'Boy meets girl' Amore song lyric and stock photo looking images of lovers with a sun drenched Mediterranean backdrop doesn't compensate for an overpriced product that doesn't have the consistency of gelato. I won't be buying this product again that is now taking up freezer space. Having Italian ancestry or being from Italy doesn't guarantee any quality. Your Gooey Buttercake Caramel Gelato is not a 'Happy Accident' and I don't care to know the backstory.

Loved the cake batter and the dairy-free chocolate so much... the salty cookies and cream and chocolate fudge brownie are close contenders, but those first two are delicious! Such rich and decadent flavors. 5 stars!!!

Incredible dairy-free/vegan gelato! Both the midnight chocolate and stracciatella were good, but the midnight chocolate was incredible. I could eat it all day. Very easy and quick service and the staff was super friendly. I can't wait to return!

The best gelato in Boulder! The vanilla and butter cake flavor is to die for. I always bring out of towners here.

Had the Coffee Chip and the Brownie flavors, both delicious, but I lean towards the Coffee Chip because how much better it was than other coffee gelatos I've had. I had the 2 scoops on the waffle cone, which may have been a little over cooked on the iron. But I think that was a one-off. Someone with me had the Brownie flavor with the waffle on the side. The waffle was fresh and hot, and just the right amount of sweetness.

I want to love Gelato Boy, I truly do. I just can't get GB to check all the boxes for me. I popped in early evening for a regular (3 flavors) in a waffle cone. I chose gooey butter cake with caramel, pistachio, and lavender poppy seed. In full confession, I am IN LOVE with another brand's gooey butter cake, so ultimately it led to my disappointment in the GB version. There was no caramel and I received a 1/2 scoop (see photo). The pistachio was delightful, but the lavender really stole the show. Perfectly creamy and the flavor was spot on. I typically order my gelato in a cup, but opted for the waffle cone to be festive. I'm assuming they are made in house, but it did not taste freshly made, which is really what I want in a waffle cone. I know I'll be back, I just wish Gelato Boy would take my tastebuds back to Italy. Stick with the classic flavors, maybe trendy isn't where they should put their energy.

Wow! This fabulous "Fior Di Latte" Gelato establishment has flavors that take your tongue into the yum-yum Stratosphere! Free sampling's allow you to taste before you buy! Good thing they have a "Flight" selection of six flavors for those that can't decide or want more of it all! I went for a double scoop of the Midnight Chocolate (Magnificent Creamy texture with a Rich Deep Chocolaty Flavor) and the Salted Carmel Apple (A Creamy Apple-Pie-Like Delight with a Rich Carmel Ribbon layerings) that made the perfect combo! Fast friendly service and quality ingredients make this the place to go for dessert! Five Flavorful Fabulous Stars!

I would NEVER support this company and its insanely shady business practices. I first noticed their pint ice creams in Sprouts, when I checked the ingredients list. Immediately it jumped out to me that they are hiding things in their products and not willing to tell the truth. One of the ingredients were listed as "gluten free flour"... That's it. As someone with allergies I was instantly peeved that this company isn't transparent enough, and I had to message the company myself to find out what's in it before eating it. But wait --- I messaged them! And they STILL didn't tell me. All they responded with was "There are no allergens in our gf flour". Wtf?! Who are they to say no one has allergens to their mystery flour? There is no such thing as gluten free wheat flour, so it must be coconut flour? Cassava? Tapioca? Almond? Potato? Rice? Or is it some unheard of ingredients that are frowned upon? Too bad we'll never know, because Gelato Boy would rather keep secrets from people about what they are putting into their bodies. Not only is this incredibly dangerous to consumers, it is so careless, shady, and suspect. It already irked me that it wasn't listed on the package... Not on the website... But even when CONTACTED, they hide what's inside? This company is dishonest and I wouldn't trust WHATEVER they say about their products. I'll never find out if their ice cream tastes good, but even if it does - I would suggest you find an alternative and stay far far away from this deceptive business.

Finally found a gelato shop in the Front Range that rivals the best in the world. (Yes, you read that correctly:): And it's Fior Di Latte. Lived in Italy and made it my business to sample all the gelato I could. Nothing was better than what FDL offers right here in lil' ole Boulder, Colorado. Not as many flavors as you can find in Capogiro Gelato, let alone the choices at Gelateria Dondoli. And the answer is you bet it is! So if you can afford it ask yourself "would I rather pay an extra buck to get the best taste in the world, or would good-to-very-good at a buck less satisfy my taste?" If you're with me you'll kick in that extra buck and revel in the pure deliciousness that's been made available to you . . . and all with the happiest of smiles on your face. Buon appetito! I had no idea why the line for this is out the door until my recent experience. The staff is slow and their serving activities are inefficient. Clearly this is because of poor management as the fish always stinks from the head. I had the Pistachio gelato and was delightfully ripped off with the small scoop purchased for $4.95. Come on...it's only gelato. I shouldn't be able to see the inside walls of the cup as it should be packed full. The Pistachio flavoring was rather flavorless (although I sampled the vanilla and was quite impressed by how strong the vanilla flavor was--nearly artificially so.) I'm curious if they use high fructose corn syrup in their production as it's rather overly sweet. Kudos for the freshness of the waffle cones as someone seems to be making them every 30 minutes. Moreover, I was impressed at how concerned they were to using a napkin with which to get new waffle cones from the stack in order to not touch them (which is rather ridiculous because they could easily wear plastic gloves for this (that's right folks, they don't use plastic gloves while scooping your, meaning their knuckles are likely touching the serving containers. Business must be very robust as they now have TWO locations on infamous Pearl street. ...And $7.95 for a shake?? Please. How pretentious. By the way, the picture attached is NOT how full they fill your cup.
