Lately I’ve been craving bánh xèo, so I went online to check some reviews. I saw a lot of good feedback about this place, so today we decided to stop by and try it out. We ordered one large bánh xèo, five gỏi cuốn, five bì cuốn, and a plate of chicken wings.
We came around lunchtime and the place was pretty busy, with tourists coming in and out nonstop. Overall, the restaurant looked clean. We mainly came for the bánh xèo, but funny enough, the dishes I liked most were actually the chicken wings and the gỏi cuốn.
As for the bánh xèo, to me it was a bit too rich, and the flavor was quite bland—almost like it had no seasoning at all. The vegetables were okay, not the freshest; a few leaves were bruised. And the bánh xèo had way too many bean sprouts for my taste.
The prices felt a bit high compared to other places, but I guess that’s expected since it’s a Michelin-recommended spot. They also charge 10k for motorbike parking.
Overall, it was good to try once, but the bánh xèo wasn’t as impressive as the online reviews made it sound.
