Another Chattanooga favorite.. loved this place. We waiting for about 40 minutes for a table and there were people constantly filing in for a table. It was constant, you can tell they are a favorite. The menu offering is as Italian favorites and craft your own pasta bowls and pizzas. We got a handmade pasta and a ravioli. We got to sit outside on the few patios they have. It’s a very nice restaurant that can handle a lot of people. Our waitress was nice and our drinks came out fast. Also, loved the bread that was included on the table 😋 Loved this place!

This restaurant never disappoints. We have been here to eat every time we visit Chattanooga to enjoy a delicious dining experience. The atmosphere is wonderful - very romantic with lights. The service is excellent - Andrew took good care of us on our visit. He was very attentive and checked in with us throughout the meal. He provided us with some recommendations on wine and meal selections. He did not steer me wrong. Their homemade pasta is perfectly crafted and tastes delicious. The portions are huge. We ordered spaghetti bolognese and chicken tetrazzini - you can really taste seasonings and herbs in both dishes. We then enjoyed tiramisu - don’t miss out on this dessert. Their bread service is phenomenal also - the garlic boule is a favorite. Please make this one of your stops for a fantastic meal in Chattanooga.

I travel alot for work and im a huge Italian food connoisseur, Tony's was both in beautiful location and great atmosphere. For those who are not familiar and the GPS takes you to overpass, it's a full roundabout and there is parking near the restaurant. Not going to lie, the Spaghettini Con Crudo was both visually good and delicious. The pine nuts, definitely was a first. The bread was really good as well, I sprung for the desert, neapolitan ice cream with cashews. They paired greatly, not a combo I would of thought of. Service was great, the greeter, she was very friendly and a good smile and the waitress was attentive and patient with me, since this was my first time in Tennessee and the first restaurant I chose. Overall, the food, the price, and the experience was really worth it. Definitely recommend them.

Google
Absolutely lovely Italian Restaurant in a nice quiet area of the city near the River! Proper good traditional Italian cuisine! Service was superb and the food was even better. I had homemade Linguine in a tomato and basil sauce with chicken and it was delightful. The pasta was lovely and the tomato and basil sauce was so fresh it was just so so good. Price was fairly reasonable also and there was a good selection of dishes on the menu! Can't recommend this place enough probably some of the best Italian food i have had outside of Italy.

Truly enjoyed our dinner. My husband and I split the Caesar salad, nothing to brag about. My chicken parm was delicious. Hubby really enjoyed his lasagna. Lots of wonderful bread that was soft on the inside just how we like it. We definitely go back.

Google
Our waitress was absolutely amazing! She was punctual with our refills and so friendly. The garlic bread was a must-try - it got 5 stars! The food itself was 3 stars, but I could have easily made it at home. If I ever go back, I’ll definitely come for the 5-star bread. The place was peaceful and perfect for great company.

I’ve visited a few times now, and the food has always been excellent! The service is consistently good as well. This spot works perfectly for both date nights and casual lunches. It can get a bit lively at times, but the atmosphere and scenery still make it well worth the visit.

Tony’s Pasta Shop & Trattoria is a beautiful spot with an atmosphere that really stands out. The setting is amazing and very scenic, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal with friends or family. The service was good and the staff was attentive, which made the dining experience smooth and pleasant. The food itself was okay. It was solid and satisfying, though it did not quite stand out compared to the incredible atmosphere. Still, paired with the great service and the beautiful surroundings, it made for an enjoyable evening overall. If you are looking for a restaurant where the vibe and scenery elevate the experience, Tony’s is definitely worth visiting.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Chattanooga. Anytime that I am in the city, I make it a point to visit them. You can build your own pasta and that is always my go to. I had the angel hair with bolognese sauce and it was delicious as always They serve bread but I did not care for it. The service is great and efficient and the ambiance is great for family's, date night or just trying to refuel. Regardless of the circumstances, you will be glad that you came to this restaurant.

Yelp
Cozy Italian restaurant with a good sized patio for outdoor dining. The wait staff was friendly and attentive, and provided helpful recommendations. We started our meal with their fresh baked bread, which was very good. For my entree, I ordered the low country linguine. It was a large, filling portion, but was underseasoned and not as flavorful as I would have expected. Also, the sauce was too thin/watery. My wife ordered the fusili, which had more flavor, but she felt the pasta was overcooked. Another person in our party enjoyed the lasagna.

Yelp
What a cute place to enjoy a late lunch with friends and wine. The tiny block tucked into High st- 2nd st- and Spring st has parking tucked away inside. You don't have to park on the street. We arrived at 1:45 on a Monday. Had to wait about 5 minutes before getting our table on the upper deck. Business was moderate for late lunch and several tables were seated. The table next to me was vacant and the birds were enjoying the leftover bread on the table. An ivy wove its way through the trellis above. We debated whether it was grapes or wisteria. I'm pretty sure I was right with wisteria. We made our decision and placed our orders. Our complimentary bread took 15 minutes, our food arrived 6 minutes later. 2:11. Every thing was delicious. My Aunt ordered a Caesar salad with the fried ravioli. I enjoyed the calamari. The weather was perfect, and although there are multiple dining rooms, everyone was enjoying the outdoor spaces.

Yelp
This place is super cute! We went when it was dark for dinner and the lights give it such a sweet romantic look. They first sat us upstairs inside and it was really loud. We kindly asked if we could wait for something to open up outside and they let us wait. Outside was so much quieter and romantic with the lights. We ate upstairs on the desk outside and it was gorgeous. The bread was yummy and our meals were great. I got the penne bolognese with sausage and my boyfriend got the chicken parm. I would say the standout was the chicken parm. If we go back, that's what I'd get next time. My Bolognese was good but the chicken parm was amazing! Great service, great atmosphere, we'll be back!

Yelp
The food was incredible. The service was beyond compare. Ambiance was romantic. I will stop again.

Yelp
Always the best! My pesto chicken ravioli was so good! I added some pine nuts for extra flavor and it sent the dish through the roof. I never eat leftovers and I babied these like my firstborn! The restaurant was crowded, as it usually is - there is a reason for that - but we had everything we needed. It's the cutest little vibe and the Bluffview Art District is absolutely gorgeous. I was so excited about my meal I didn't even snap a photo!!

Yelp
Awesome location. Feels like Europe on this one square block in Chattanooga. Amazing atmosphere, great for families or dates! We got here at 6:30 on a Friday and waited about 45 minutes for a table. Didn't mind waiting, though. It smelled so good in there and we were pumped about that table bread. I'm a garlic-lover, so the garlic bread was my MO. I don't know if they take reservations, but if they do make one!!! Worth it

Yelp
The food was delicious! The choose your own pasta and sauce option was perfect for choosy eaters. Our server was no attentive and helpful. Great meal! It was a full, noisy restaurant a on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

Yelp
The best marinara sauce I've ever tasted!!!! Large servings, wonder hot, crusty bread with tender garlic baked into the loaf. Sicilian salad was large and tasty. With definitely put this on the go to list! Service was excellent as well!!!

Yelp
This is the closest flavor I have had to Italy in the US. Customer service here is excellent. My waiter took note that I ordered my meal without cheese and when he brought the oil out with cheese for the table, he brought me my own oil without it. So thoughtful! They have a gluten free menu and 3 different pasta options for gluten free (penne, spaghetti, fusseli). I ordered the gluten free bolognese with spaghetti noodles. My husband built his own with gluten free fusseli, the garlic Gorgonzola sauce and grilled chicken and bacon. We also ordered the gluten free flatbread. Seeing the pictures doesn't do it justice. I was so impressed with the gluten free flatbread. Great flavor! My father in law (not gluten free) had the house bread with garlic baked in and enjoyed his pasta dish. I wish I had eaten here earlier in my trip because I would have come back!

Yelp
I have been so excited to try this restaurant! I'm a huge Italian fan! We came to Chattanooga a few summers ago and when we got there the wait was just too long for us. But! I knew I would try back on another visit, because I've heard good things. I brought my daughter in early this go around, anticipating we would wait (no reservations or call aheads, which is fine!) Before I say anything else, I have to say that the host stand is amazing! They truly run the show. And so does the team serving wine or appetizers while people wait. I watched them our entire time and they were awesome with everyone. Once we were sat, our server was kind and ,after I asked, gave us a few suggestions. Our server asked for our order with entrees and appetizers at the same time. We ordered one appetizer and a cup of soup...but we also were served bread at the table. I wish we'd spaced out ordering our entrees because we'd barely started our appetizers before our entrees came...we were at a small table so we really couldn't fit everything. The server hadn't checked back to see about clearing a few plates that could have been removed before bringing our dishes. The server apologized about the spacing...but, as a former server, I could tell some extra training to help with pacing would have helped the server out so much. The food was good, but I think it was likely rushed in preparation because of the crowd, which led to some things (like our calamari) tasting a little dry. I did a taste of their Alfredo sauce tho, and I'll try a white sauce based dish next time, because it was delicious! My daughter is young and she LOVED her meal. Definitely kid friendly, as long as you get there before a large dinner rush. The atmosphere is gorgeous. We will definitely come again on future trips. I know now how to space out my ordering...but, hopefully service training can improve to assist with the experience. I've had several friends tell me they always go when they visit...so, I'll come back and give another dish a try as well!

Yelp
If you're looking for good Italian food - go to Il Primo! Their food is amazing and their customer service is much better than Tony's. We've enjoyed eating at Tony's over the past 12 years, but have not gone as much over the past two years because the quality seems to have wavered. Tonight we went with friends and realized that management has changed as well. The girl at the hostess desk did not seem to understand how wait times work. At first, we were told 40 minutes. After an hour had passed, we asked about the wait and were told it would be any minute. During this time, we witnessed other parties leave because the wait time was not what they had been told either. I think better hostess training would benefit this restaurant. We asked if we could be split up to make things easier on them and were told that would not make a difference. After an hour and a half of waiting, the manager came over and was hostile. In the past, we have always been greeted with kindness and received great service. I understand that working in a restaurant can be stressful, but we were not being difficult and did not deserve to be treated as an inconvenience. Hopefully they can do better in the future.

Yelp
Salmon medallion (appetizer) is tasty. Calamari is crispy and not oily. I enjoyed my salmon pasta entree (split half & sharing with my younger son). We were seated outside on 2nd floor terrace. Ambiance is enjoyable and memorable.

Yelp
Being in the heart of the arts district the restaurant definitely commands beautiful views. The Italian style hard soda was great in both flavors. My chicken mushroom mozzarella panini was perfect. I liked how the chicken was sliced in half to get the mushrooms in the middle. The fries were so fresh and perfectly seasoned. The fresh bakery bread is wonderful.

Yelp
My wife's side of the family has real Italian roots, and she grew up with some authentic Italian food. She loved this place. I did as well. The bread, pasta, meatball--all tasted fresh/homemade from scratch. You definitely get a lot of bang for your buck when it comes to portion sizes too. Staff was kind and welcoming. Great atmosphere in downtown Chattanooga.

Yelp
Tony's was the perfect balance of quaint and upscale! I am a big fan of Italian food and can safely say Tony's is one of the greats considering their food, prices, and atmosphere. No notes or complaints, service was awesome, the food tasted amazing, and the location is so adorable. It was super busy (and rightfully so) so make sure you come early and be prepared to wait a little if you come at peak hours. Will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Popular Italian restaurant in the Bluff View Arts District. Walkable from the Hunter Museum. Yelp said they opened at noon but hours actually start at 11:00AM. Plenty of seating indoors and outside. Staff is efficient and friendly. I ordered a Panini and Coffee but the menu has lots of homemade pasta items. I plan on returning for dinner. Family friendly.

Yelp
Absolutely fabulous food. Fast and friendly service. Clean. If the parking situation was better we would definitely go here more often. Love their dill sauce on tortellini!!!

Yelp
Planned a surprise birthday dinner party for my wife. She loves in house made pasta I selected Tony's because they serve in house made pasta and bc of location. Happy that it was within walking distance from our hotel. They DO NOT take reservations and will only seat you if your entire party is present. We had 9 people. It was prom night so that made our wait for a table over 1 hour. I will say that there is a place to stand, have a drink and enjoy your company. About the drinks, we decided to grab a beer only to discover the beer cooler was down and the kept the beer in a cooler by the cash registers. We discovered after getting our beer that some were cold and the beer in bottles were warm. The cooler the beer was in, all the ice had melted and the beer was in ice water... so you will want to pay attention to that. Once seated our waitress named Davis was very pleasant and professional. She took care of our table of 9 very efficiently. She had a great personality and was very attentive. They serve in house made bread. Regular and bread made with garlic cloves in it. Served with a bowl of some sort of dipping sauce, I thought it was olive oil and cheese but not sure. Either way it was delicious. Our entrees came out quickly and were delicious. I got the chicken parm and I will say that I was a little bit disappointed with my spaghetti, made in house, seem over cooked and stuck together in a blob. The chicken was cooked perfectly and was delicious. The birthday girl got the vegetable lasagna and felt like it was under seasoned and lacked flavor. We had also ordered some fettuccine Alfredo which they thought was really good. Overall it was a good meal with great service. The atmosphere was great and we had a very good evening. Thanks for a good dining experience with the family.

Yelp
Nice restaurant, but one restroom for both genders. Not acceptable for a place this big, especially when staff have to use these restrooms as well.

Yelp
I've heard great things about this place for years and have always wanted to go, so my friends and I made plans to have dinner here. And after my experience here I will recommend this place to everyone. We walked in and were told that wait time would be from an hour to an hour and 30 minutes (party of 6). We walked around the area and it took about an hour and 40 minutes to get seated. The garlic bread + oil & cheese dip were amazing. The bread had wonderful pieces of garlic that were soft and kind of caramelized into the bread. Also the bread pieces were large, soft, and had a great garlic flavor. It was absolutely delicious. There were so many good things on the menu, but I ordered the Chicken Tetrazzini. It was lovely. Once I took a bite of my entree, I knew I made a great choice. It was perfectly salted and very rich in flavor. It was creamy, cheesy, and the grilled chicken was good. There were so many components done so well in my dish. At first glance, the plate my food was served in looked small but the portion size was large. I loved that I had leftovers and extra garlic bread! Wait time was pretty long, but we had a wonderful view on the rooftop during sunset and we all had a great time. I look forward to coming back here again. This place is now a favorite of mine :)

Yelp
One of my top 10 favorite meals. I love Tony's!!!! Worth the drive from Birmingham every time (and made at least 3 or 4 times a year). I haven't had anything at Tony's that I haven't liked. The bread is delicious with the olive oil and Parmesan. I switch between getting the bolognese baked in mozzarella and the fettuccine Alfredo. Both are equally delicious. The meatballs are also divine. Pasta is hand cut and you can tell, there is no better Italian restaurant out there. Bonus points for relatively easy parking and beautiful views. Highly recommend sitting on the second floor, very homey and quiet. Service is always great, there may be a wait but it is always worth it.

Heike K.

Yelp
Had lunch there and ordered their build your own pizza with mozzarella. Also decided to try their cucumber salad and a glass of Sangiovese wine with our meal. Our waitress was very courteous and kind. Free homemade sourdough and garlic breads were served with dipping oil and were very tasty. However the pizza crust, that was under the tomato sauce and cheese, was a complete disaster. It looked and tasted like frozen pizza dough heated up. The crust was the same thickness all around (1/2 of "cardboard") without a typical pizza crust edge. This was definitely NOT wood fired pizza as described in a previous review. Even the waitstaff conceded that the restaurant only has a regular oven. So you may enjoy the atmosphere, friendly wait staff and probably one of their pasta dishes, but I strongly recommend staying away from the pizza.

Yelp
Great pasta! Great Bread! Great marinara! The vegetable salad was unique and wonderful - more than a meal and easily enough for two. The black-pepper house-made pasta is very nice. Go there!

Yelp
This has become by far one of my favorite Italian restaurants ever! They had ample gluten free options and everything was absolutely delicious! Table ordered the GF bread service, ravioli (not GF ) stuffed collared greens (GF and delicious) and the GF caccio e peppe. Everything was incredible, truly a memorable meal. I wish they had different gluten free noodles as I feel we've come too far to still be relegated to penne but otherwise everything was amazing.
google avatar

Yelp
Worth the wait. The homemade pasta is delicious. Their homemade sausage is fabulous. The tiramisu was good and our service was wonderful. The inside is a bit tired looking. Doesn't match the food and pricing. They need new tables and chairs. A refresh and elevate the space a bit. I'd go back though!
google avatar

Yelp
So good we had to go back. Visited the area earlier this year and couldn't wait for a return visit to sample the fare again. Our server Prashant delivered our food with precision, splitting generous portions and attending to our needs. Our main meal was a repeat of our last visit with build your own pasta and chicken, wine and beer. The homemade bread is delicious! This visit we opted for the Italian Cream Cake which was fantastic. When a restaurant can repeat a good experience it's worth their weight in gold. The popularity is well deserved and appreciated. I'm sure we'll return when in town again. Thank you Tony's and staff for delivering an awesome dining experience.

Yelp
We came here while in town and the restaurant had a mix of ups and downs. For the positives - the food was good. Not outstanding, but really good and large portions. We started with the complementary bread. It was delicious but watch out for the whole cloves of garlic baked in (if that's not your cup of tea). Next we had a garden salad, standard. For entrees the table tried a mix of pastas and pizza. The baked chicken pesto ravioli was a hit with the table, but it was a little too heavy for my taste. The pizza was just ok. Now for the not-so-good. The restaurant felt dirty. We were seated on the upstairs patio, and on the walk up, it smelled like mildew and cleaning supplies. There was a huge stack of dirty dishes by the patio door, and several tables hadn't been cleared. The service was also spotty. The worst part was when the server brought the bread and was spilling oil on the walk to the table and he dripped oil on me and my purse. It might have just been an off night, because I know people love this place.
google avatar

Michael H.

Yelp
Some of the best pasta I've ever eaten. Service was fast and professional and the ambiance on the balcony patio was wonderful.

Yelp
Visiting Tony's is like stepping into Little Italy. We had tickets to see a show downtown this night, but arrived early enough for dinner to beat the crowd. I would recommend arriving early, because by the time we left, there was a line out the door. We arrived around 5:30 on a Thursday and were able to get in, be seated immediately, and had a pretty view of the garden from the inside dining room. The Bluff View Art District is a beautiful neighborhood complete with European-style restaurants, cafes, bakeries, and art gardens. The streets between the historic building are cobblestone--overlooking the Tennessee River. We had never been before, but the service was fantastic. The server was friendly and helpful. Each table is given fresh bread that is made next door daily at the Bluff View Bakery. I decided to make my own pasta with my choices being fettuccine with alfredo and grilled chicken. Since we were in a bit of a time crunch, we informed our waitress. She told us our dishes would arrive the quickest on the menu-- and they did! We were able to eat in no time at all. The food came out in LARGE portions and was warm, fresh, and delicious. We could have taken leftovers for a whole other meal. Before we left, we took a stroll down the hill to visit the River Gallery Sculpture Garden. The restaurant sits on a hill that overlooks this park. Filled with unique sculptures (some for sale and some not), this park lies along the Tennessee River and allows for great views of the entire district. Overall, this is such a unique restaurant to find in Chattanooga. The entire neighborhood has so much character from the buildings, streets, art, and food! You must visit Tony's when in Chattanooga for great, authentic Italian dishes.

Yelp
Tony's is a great pasta shop that I would recommend to anybody who is in need of some good Italian food my recommendation is the chicken tetrazzini which tastes great 5/5 stars would recommend Visited 10/3/24

Yelp
We had a delicious lunch. My partner had the pesto cream sauce with mushrooms and asparagus. The warm, soft, and crusty bread with olive oil and mozzarella cheese was lovely.
google avatar

Tom S.

Yelp
A beautiful setting overlooking the river and a great meal. Copious amounts of bread and olive oil to start, followed by seasonal cucumber salads and then Linguini Bolognese with meatballs and Spaghettini Alfredo Carbonara. No room for dessert.
google avatar

Kat T.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! Had baked ravioli, chicken tetterozini, lasagna, and kids pasta! Break and oil with cheese was so yummy too!
google avatar

Terry C.

Yelp
Incredible food, top notch service, and inviting atmosphere. We heard of this from our kids and they were absolutely right about it! Starting off with the best fried cheese ravioli that I have ever had and adding to it with some excellent breads made our mouths water for the main courses. Again, they did not disappoint. My black pepper linguine with bolognese sauce and Italian sausage hit all the high notes of the flavor scale. My wife utterly enjoyed the Cheese ravioli with chicken which carried a more subtle but no-less pleasing experience. High praise for Tony's, if you visit Chattanooga add it to the top of your list!

Heidi J.

Yelp
This charming restaurant had great outside seating. Our waitress was super accommodating and gluten free pizza was good. Pesto ravioli was awesome. We got a few meals to go also which were ready on time.
google avatar

Layla S.

Yelp
The food was absolutely amazing and delicious. The Baked Pesto Chicken Ravioli was swimming in the most amazing pesto cream sauce. And the meatballs were amazing and fresh. The restaurant was clam and modern with a great view. Our server was absolutely amazing and explained the menu to us and recommended his favorite item. Fantastic Italian food

Amy B.

Yelp
Amazing food and the service was fantastic! Great for small or large groups. They have both indoor and outdoor dining areas.
google avatar

Pavia F.

Yelp
What a place! Italian food ohh so yummy! Plus the Spamoni was delicious! We were seated on the second floor outdoor area. Love sitting outside and especially here. Nice view! The waiter was on point, and even though he was extremely busy, he remembered what we said. He gets extra points for that.

Anna M.

Yelp
The food was good not amazing. Tuna carpaccio appetizer was more of a seared tuna on mixed greens, very tasty! Service was terrific and the view from upstairs balcony is lovely. We were served bread and oil upon sitting down which was very good. Would definitely recommend and try again.

Yelp
I have found Tony's to be hit or miss in the past - but last night we thoroughly enjoyed our experience last night! My children had Penne with Alfredo and Chicken (make your own), Chicken Picatta and I ordered the Black Pepper Linguine with Pesto Cream & Mushrooms (also make your own). Service was delightful and the location and atmosphere of Tony's is always a win!

Carl H.

Yelp
On vacation visiting Chattanooga and found this place We saw that it had good reviews We loved it, good food and good service. You won't be disappointed

Katherine A.

Yelp
We have been on the hunt for a great Italian spot since moving to Chattanooga. I knew when they brought out the warm, fluffy bread it would be good! I got a glass (or two) of pinot grigio and the seafood ravioli. My fiancé had the baked penne. Both were absolutely fantastic, but what got that fifth star was Chesarae's (sp?) service. She was so sweet and attentive! We will 1000% be back, as I've already sent pictures to my family back home with the caption, "we are taking you here!!!!!!!" The garden patio was cute, but next time we'll ask for the upstairs patio. Great stuff!

Yelp
When a tour guide heard we liked Italian food, they said we had to check out Tony's, and called it "Chattanooga's best pasta spot, bar none". With such a hearty stamp of approval, we made sure to pay them a visit this afternoon and found our guide's appraisal to be entirely correct. Inside, the restaurant is somehow spacious yet cozy. My husband and I were seated by a window with a delightful garden view and remarked how much this felt like a romantic date. If the vibe wasn't already happy, the arrival of our generously sized bread certainly made things joyful. The bread at Tony's has softened cloves of garlic hidden in its soft pockets, and it's served with a dish of olive oil that has shreds of parmesan swimming in it - game changer! We ordered a fried calamari to start, which was delightful - crispy, well seasoned, and a good mixture of both rings and leg pieces. My husband seemed to enjoy his Caesar salad with chicken just fine, but the true star of the show was my bowl of pasta. I ordered the angel hair with bolognese, which turned out to be a massively generous serving. The sauce, too, was a meaty delight, with a spicy kick that made me think it had some sausage hidden in it. Either way, it was so delicious that I unashamedly asked for a to-go container for the few spoonfuls left in my bowl. A few things to note - - The restaurant is nestled in the very center of the Bluff Arts collective. It took us a few wrong turns before we could find it. Walk down the driveway adjacent to Rembrandt's Coffee House and you'll see it at the end of the road. - There are a few parking spaces adjacent to the restaurant, but those are snatched up quickly, especially on weekends. That said, there's usually plenty of free street parking in the area. - No reservations. Seating is first come, first served, so be prepared to wait. We arrived as soon as they opened and found tables around us filling up quickly. That said, there's ample dining both indoors and outdoors, so that hopefully helps with wait times.
