Best Italian restaurant in Virginia Beach! This is our 4th time Dining at Aldo’s. They have been so excellent and so consistent I feel compelled to leave a review! We now have tried almost everything on the menu! We have not been disappointed. It is all good! You must order the focaccia bread for the table! The meatballs, scallops and super tender calamari are our favorite appetizers!!! The sauce that comes with it needs 5 deserves another 5 stars! We love the Lamb chop Entree, Sea Bass (when they have it), THE PESCATORE is NEXT LEVEL, and the Romanelli Pasta is a must have experience!

I haven’t been here for a while and not sure why not, as it did not disappoint. Although it was full for Wednesday evening before 7, we were seated at one of the bar area tables without a wait. Food was hot, fast and amazing. There were so many dessert options we had a hard time choosing. My daughter is already requesting to return.

My wife and I celebrated our 4-year anniversary dinner at Aldo’s. The atmosphere was amazing and our server (Tatiana) was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The family-owned vibe was great, as was the food (Calamari and Lamb-lollipop appetizers; Shrimp/Chicken Alfredo and Spaghetti/Meatball with Bolognese sauce for entrees. We also enjoyed the Apple pie and Chocolate cake for dessert). Cocktails: Sidecar and Mai-tai… Overall 5/5 and memorable

I loved this place! Definitely can’t wait to go back! Food was a 10/10. Drinks were a little pricey but very good. The ambiance was also nice.

Google
Aldo’s Ristorante absolutely delivered an amazing dining experience. The service was excellent, friendly, attentive, and professional. We started with the calamari, and the flavor was spot on, crispy and delicious. For my main course, I had the Chicken Francese, and wow… the chicken was so tender and full of flavor. I added some scallops (because I love them), and they were cooked to perfection. Everything was on point. Can’t wait to come back next time I’m in town!

My wife and I decided to try Aldo’s on a Friday night based on all the good reviews. Unfortunately, the food was a disappointment. We had a reservation and we were seated immediately. Nice atmosphere. Server Ben was good and helpful. Ordered the calamari and found it to be bland, with not much taste. Margherita pizza was very salty and, sorry to say, not good at all. Fettuccine Alfredo, ironically, needed salt to punch up the flavor. The problem for us was a failure to deliver on the high expectations created by so many positive reviews. I know from friends in the restaurant business that it’s important to let the server know about food quality, however, that’s not an easy thing to do.

Google
I am not the type to leave reviews but the service was absolutely out of this world. Never went without a full drink, food was timed up perfectly with the appetizers. Pasquali was our server & had great recommendations with AMAZING service. The peach cobbler was out of this world & will be coming back specifically for that!

Google
Absolutely exquisite! The decor was beautiful! The staff was warm and accommodating. The food was wonderful, so fresh and delicious. Our server, Wes, was very personable. He paid great attention to detail, gave us great food recommendations, and even shared some of his favorite spots with us to check out on our vacation. When we arrived there, we had mentioned that we were celebrating kind of a late honeymoon . When we ordered our dessert, he brought it out with a special "Happy Honeymoon " written in chocolate. Such a nice touch, we really appreciated that. Anytime we come back to VA Beach, we will be stopping here every time. Thank you Aldo's for a beautiful experience!

Yelp
WOW this is giving my favorite Italian restaurants in the area a run for their money. I would probably say this easily makes my top 3. Service was spectacular and the knowledge on wine pairings was very impressive. Ambiance was very classy and elegant. Portion sizes are large and the price was very reasonable. I would not come here if you are looking for quiet and chill there is a lot going on but it makes you feel right at home. I will be coming back again for the Veal Marsala. My side of broccoli was also fantastic- it was like a garlic butter sauce on the broccoli. *Chefs kiss!*‍ this experience was exemplary of fine Italian dining!

Yelp
This is just a high priced pizza joint,,,,pasta is fair at best...laden with garlic that destroys the taste,,,,they want you to dress up...not hats,,,,,suit preferred,,,,,then they give it to u in the AN**. RIP off city.....small plates

Jeanne C.

Yelp
The man at the front desk was not friendly. Server (Tatiana?) was prompt, knowledgeable, patient, friendly, cheerful and really helped us choose the best dishes for our tastes. Ambiance was good too Another reviewer said there was one bathroom stall for the women. Now there are 4, and the doors are not frosted. I had the lamb dish ($39) that came with 6 lamb rib chops, a polenta cake topped with zucchini and a little bit roasted red peppers. Drizzled with fig balsamic. I defy you to find 6 lamb chops any cheaper or more delicious! Spectacular meal. I also had the soup of the day chicken vegetable which was brothy and contained tiny acini de Pepe noodles. Excellent. Hubby got a house specialty Romanelli alla vodka (pasta purses stuffed with fontina, ricotta and parm), and topped with a delicious light and creamy vodka sauce with prosciutto, shallots and 6 huge perfectly cooked shrimp. Excellent in every way. He also ordered a simple side salad. We shared an order of calamari, which was tender with a simple and tasty (light but crunchy) breading with a side of red sauce. Perfect. Would I return? Oooh yeah!

Yelp
I had heard that Aldo'S was a local "institution" of sorts and had to check it out. Their Shrimp Gorgonzola pasta was so delicious! I would definitely get it every time I go. Large, perfectly cooked shrimp with a creamy gorgonzola sauce that goes really nicely with the angel hair. They also made a great dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives, which is a favorite of mine.

Yelp
The ambiance is very nice. We were there on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was full but had a few open tables. The older gentleman asked if we had a reservation and looked a bit annoyed when we said that we did not. Our server, Lauren, was great - and probably the best part of our dinner. We started off with fried calamari (very good), thin focaccia bread and zucchini frittes (also good). Food went downhill from there. My margarita pizza crust was so soggy and had the consistency of microwaved pizza. My husband and daughter ordered chicken Alfredo and it was very bland. The chicken was not grilled (no grill lines) and tasted like it was boiled. The sauce was also very bland. My son ordered linguini with clams. The clams were good, but the linguini and sauce had no flavor at all. I ordered Tiramisu- also disappointing. It wasn't bad, it was just average. Overall, our experience there was disappointing and not worth the amount spent. It's a shame, because it has a nice ambiance.

Yelp
My favorite dinner we had in Virginia Beach. I got the pasta special, and we had a variety of appetizers. Our server was fantastic! Loved that they shake the espresso martini at the table.

Yelp
Aldo's responded to my complaint that that they charge 28% or so on a party of five or more. The problem is not that they failed to disclose a going to add a 20% gratuity but It is that they added it on top of the tax which there's already two in Virginia Beach. It is very deceptive. I've never seen a man mandatory tip be added on top of the taxes. The complaint is the mandatory 20% should be just on the food subtotal and they should've just fixed it. It is so ridiculous because everybody I have told about this so they're not gonna eat there anymore and I certainly have not been back. A restaurant makes such a blunder when they do really dumb things like this. They've probably cost themselves $10,000 in meals. Their response is even more concerning because they don't seem to get the issue. Hopefully, they can read the review more carefully and figure out what the problem is.

Yelp
Warning! Warning! Don't ask to be reseated to a new table because you don't want to sit next to a glass wall looking at open wine boxes. Mr. Man who stands at the host stand in his suit will be very irritated and will tell you that there have been no mistakes made that day. He will be very irritated and seat you at the bar where you will be ignored. Our server was fine when we finally got a table. Service was very slow. Food was good. Pasta was barely warm. Marsala was hot. Another "fine dining" establishment that thinks it's better than it is. If I lived there, would I go back? No. Not with so many other options at the beach.

Yelp
What a culinary experience. Our waiter Pasquale was exceptional. Very knowledgeable and very friendly. The food was outstanding. Looking forward to going back

Yelp
Aldos has been a lifetime favorite of ours. We went last night for my daughter's 32nd birthday and we've been coming here since she was an infant in a car seat, so literally 30+ years and it's always been top notch. The picture I have attached here though shows the absolutely unacceptable pasta that was served with my husband's $48 veal chop. The pasta came all broken up. Like they scraped the bottom of a pot of pasta they'd been digging into all night. He did not cut the pasta to look like this. It literally was brought from the kitchen this way . Any self respecting chef would not serve this train wreck. If you know anything about pasta, it gets broken like this when it's been overcooked and or overhandled. - in a restaurant it means they cooked a huge batch and dug out portions from that batch all night. The digging and stirring combined time spent sitting and possibly heating is what causes this and it's downright gross. Other minor complaints: my daughter got this pasta special with a lobster cream mascarpone sauce. Very tasty but she said way too salty and she ended up stopping eating it because it was so salty (and we love salt in this family and I'm a heavy salter when I cook at home). My veal (Francese) and pasta (penne marinara) was very good but could have been hotter- a little on the lukewarm side. We all got house salads and the complaint was that the carrots in it were in huge chunks that almost broke your teeth trying to bite. The croutons were also too big and hard and if you tried to cut either, the pieces would fly off your plate when you finally cut through haha. In a fine dining establishment attention to detail and consideration of the diner's experience with a salad is expected. Focaccia bread is still 10/10 as is the atmosphere, drinks, and service (except the waiter having the audacity to bring out that plate of abused pasta) C'mom Aldo's. You know better.

Yelp
Best Italian food I've had in Virginia Beach after 10 months of living here! Went here for a special occasion & EVERY dish we had was delicious, ambiance was also great - the setting/vibes were much better than many of the other restaurants I've been to so far.
google avatar

Autumn B.

Yelp
The waitress was incredibly sweet. We came to celebrate me becoming an RN, and she made me feel so special! She brought out an apple pie with 'Congratulations' written on the plate. The food was delicious--I had the lobster pasta, which was a 10/10. My dad rated his clam pasta an 8.5/10, and my mom gave the vodka pasta a 9.5/10. I would definitely go back. The restaurant was very clean and nice.

Yelp
I went here to celebrate a surprise birthday dinner. The service was great! and the servers ensured that we were able to surprise our birthday girl. The inside of the restaraunt is very nice, perfect setting for a date night, fancy birthday dinner, corporate dinner etc. The food was fantastic! Every order at the table looked so good. I ordered the salmon with dill. It was a great combination it also had a drizzle of honey over top of it. The drinks were also good!

Yelp
My family has always been a fan of Aldo's Ristorante. Stopped in for dinner while visiting my parents recently. First, the pre-dinner cocktails were amazing! The standout was the Grapefruit Basil Gimlet...this is dangerous! For dinner, we enjoyed the Shrimp Gorgonzola, Linguine and White Clam Sauce, Romanelli Alla Vodka, and the featured Short Ribs with Mushroom Risotto. All delicious! Definitely a place to dine when you're in Va Beach.

Yelp
I go here once or twice a year when visiting my husband's family. They have been going here for years and love it. My husband orders a pasta dish that isn't on the menu anymore but has tomato cream sauce and sausage and Angel hair. The staff always knows what he's asking for when he brings it up. His dad gets the shrimp Gorgonzola pasta. His mom often gets a special or a chicken and shrimp pasta. Most recently my mom joined and got the butternut squash ravioli special. It was awesome. The sauce was so good. I had a create your own pasta with meatballs and mushrooms and tomato cream sauce. It needed a little more salt which of course I could add and the meatballs were very mushy but they had a nice flavor. They also love the focaccia bread but I think the Italian bread is better. It's a really nice spot in a strip mall.

Yelp
The service and drinks were fantastic; it is clear that they take pride in their services. Reservations were easy to get last minute for our date night. As you enter, first impressions are the atmosphere gives a great vibe and the hosts are welcoming. The food did not take long either. Overall an amazing experience for a suitable price , thanks for feeding us.

Yelp
I can't think of a restaurant that relies solely on their past reputation more than Aldo's. This restaurant had a great standing in the area. That time is gone. What isn't gone is the arrogance of the staff and the mediocrity of the food. The bartender struggled and failed to get out a successful drink, including a simple Bellini. The ambience is stale. I love the traditional look, but sprucing up your decor every decade or so would be great! So let's move to the food. One person ordered a clam dish with a special sauce, let me give you a hint to the special sauce: pasta water. My dish was decent only because I ordered slightly off menu due allergy concerns. The mozzarella appetizer ($13) came with only two slices of tomatoes. In the past this has been a great shareable dish. I'm not trying to slam them. I just feel like I miss the Aldo's of a few years ago that was warm, welcoming and felt like a special occasion. And back when the attention to detail of the food was so good that problems with any dish were caught by an excellent waitstaff. The front of the house seems guarded by individuals that are irritated that you even came in the doors. And if they grace you with a reservation when you call even months out, it will be at an odd hour that is usually only popular in elder care facilities. There are certainly places that deserve to have month long reservation list. Aldo's, you are not it. In general, Aldo's you are not it. Lose the arrogance and focus on the food and hospitality.

Yelp
Enjoyed another fantastic meal at Aldo's for my sister's 50th Birthday. We have been coming here for over 18years+ to celebrate her birthday. We dined here on April 16th and there were 16 of us in total. We had two servers that night and they were both wonderful and were so on point with their service. I really wish I remembered their names. We enjoyed Calamari, Zucchini Fritti and Focaccia bread to start. All of us had the following: Chicken Caesar salad, Sausage Umbria, Fettucine Alfredo with Scallops (those scallops were so good and cooked perfectly, I highly recommend adding this to the dish), Baked Lasagna, Shrimp gorgonzola with angel hair, Romanelli Alla Vodka, Pescatore, Shrimp Scampi, Seasonal Mushroom Ravioli and my sister had this amazing Lobster pasta special that day. Everyone enjoyed their meals and to end the night we all shared the Chocolate Ganache cake, Wood Fire Roasted Peach Cobbler, Creme Brulee, Napoleon, Coconut cake and the seasonal Limoncello cheesecake special. Thank you Aldo's for another exceptional birthday dinner!
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
My husband and I love Aldo's. The restaurant is very homey and the staff is welcoming, kind, and knowledgeable. We have tried several of their appetizers, but two of our favorites are the award-winning Calamari and the New York Strip Carpaccio, which is to die for. Their Focaccia Bread appetizer always looks so delicious and is on our list of what to try next time. My husband really enjoyed the lobster cream pasta that they had on special the last time we visited. I always recommend trying one of their specials if something sticks out or speaks to you, as they may not have it the next time you return. Their full menu tends to stay consistent and for good reason. I enjoyed the Salmon with Fresh Dill last time and would certainly order it again. We've overheard guests who have told their server that they drove out from Newport News to visit Aldo's. That speaks a lot to the restaurant and what they have to offer. We will be returning for my husband's birthday weekend and we are looking forward to it!

Yelp
Everything from reservations to food to our server Lauren. Soup, short ribs and pasta with lobster.

Yelp
Food was amazing, I had the pescatore loaded with muscles, shrimp, scallops, calamari over linguine with marinara. Manhattan drink was amazing, service was great, very friendly. Atmosphere is beautiful. Will definitely return.

Yelp
First time here after seeing lots of good reviews. The restaurant has some charm but feels dated. Even greeters were too dressed in suits giving air that the restaurant is upscale, even with a sign by the door indicating appropriate attire required. But you see patrons in camisoles, sweatshirts, comfortable sweaters. Felt like they are trying too hard to be upscale. I would have rated the food 2.5 stars because the chicken Francese was too lemony and the linguine was slightly undercooked. There wasn't much on the plate to even look appealing; but their lollipop veal on polenta cake saved the day. The veal was well seasoned, tender not dry even when I asked for well done. The balsamic vinegar was great compliment to the polenta cake and sautéed olives. This dish I'd rate 4.5 out of 5.

Yelp
Went on a Wednesday night, I am thinking my wife and I got the worst table in the place. Right next to the noisy kitchen and waiter station, close to the bathroom as well. Ok, someone is going to get this table but I would recommend you ask to be reseated. Service was fine, as you should expect in a "nice" restaurant like this. Food was not what we had hoped the experience to be. We started with their version of a caprice salad. A very big disappointment. Two slices of tomato and a ball of cheese, a tiny amount of shredded basil and olive oil. For a place with their reputation I would think maybe four slices of tomatoes, more, and whole basil leaves, and isn't balsamic vinegar (glaze) mandatory? I got the Sausage Umbria, there was maybe 5 or six slices of sausage. I could almost not find them because they looked just like the mushroom slices. When I get an Italian sausage meal at an ITALIAN restaurant I usually find a whole sausage. My wife got the chicken romesco, advertised as a red pepper romesco with spinach. Whatever a romesco is it came as maybe a teaspoon of a red pepper sauce. Two big chicken breasts (impressive) however a little dry. But the amount of spinach was crazy. Nobody needs that much. Give us nicely cooked peppers instead of the minuscule pepper sauce and tons of spinach. Sorry this is so long, but can you throw in some bread?

Yelp
Have lived here for over 20 years and had never been to Aldo's. Boy was I missing it! From the minute we walked into the door till we left, everything was outstanding. Will be back.

Yelp
Aldos has been on my list to visit forever. When my employees gave me a giftcard to go as a gift I thought perfect timing. My friend and I decided to go as a girls night out . First off the drinks were amazing. We had the Pomegranate Martini and French Raspberry martini. We started by sharing the focaccia bread which was so good we ordered a second one. Our main dishes were the Shrimp Gorgonzola with was 6 pan seared gulf shrimp with angel hair pasta in a thick and creamy sauce and the Tortelloni Six Formaggi which was amazing. Our server was very entertaining and took great care of us. We will definitely visit again.
google avatar

Ara A.

Yelp
Nov 2023 another excellent visit with great service and delicious food. They just always hit the mark.

Yelp
Aldos is definitely a solid. I have been here on more than one occasion, and I'm sorry it took me so long to finally make a review. I should be ashamed. The ambience is beautiful, and the hosts are very well dressed, which makes it feel very upscale on arrival. It is rather loud during busy times however. We ordered the lamb chops, that were perfectly cooked and paired with wonderful sides, polenta cake and some veggies. The lobster pasta was also very al dente, and full of meat accompanied by a wonderful crème sauce. If you go, Invite me. Xoxo

Yelp
An amazing experience! My wife and I celebrated our 6th Anniversary here last night, and we enjoyed every moment. The ambience was beautiful, the food was worth every penny, and our server Kyle was excellent! Kyle was extremely knowledgeable & very pleasant. An honest 10/10 experience for our celebration.

Yelp
We went to Aldo's Ristorante for my boyfriend's birthday. He was craving pasta, and since we've never been to Aldo's, we opted to celebrate his birthday here. We came here on a Monday with a reservation and were surprised at how busy they are, especially for a Monday. Ambiance: This place is classy. You can definitely get the classy Italian vibes from the moment you get in. Food: We ordered Pesto, Romanelli Alla Vodka, Grilled Salmon Salad, and Chicken Parmigiano. Romanelli Alla Vodka was suggested by our server, and the Romanelli noodles were stuffed with 3 kinds of cheese. The Grilled Salmon Salad was flavorful. However, I just wished that there was more salmon in it. Chicken Parmigiano's pasta is definitely al dente, and the pasta was tasty. Everything we ate was delicious and what we were looking for was good Italian food. Service: Everyone was friendly and helpful. Our server, James, was very informative regarding suggestions, and his suggestions improved our experience. Price: The price matches the quality of food you get from Aldo's, and it's better than the cost of chain restaurants. We'll definitely be back at Aldo's soon. If you are looking for good quality Italian food in the area, I highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Fabulous service. Great food. Great ambiance. Gluten free options available. We got our food very fast. Our waiter checked in often. The food was great & good portion sizes.

Serena K.

Yelp
I was served a mimosa that was completely flat. The server messed up our orders (including one with allergy requests). The front of house staff was rude. The pasta was overcooked and gluey. I would write a longer review, but this restaurant has wasted enough of my time.

Yelp
One of the best Italian restaurants in Virginia Beach! I have never been disappointed while dining here. Our server, Ben, was very kind, knowledgeable, and willing to take that extra time to answer our questions. The ambience is lovely and most importantly - the food is delicious! This will always be my first choice when I am craving italian.

Tanya R.

Yelp
Ehh... I'm not really sure why the ratings are so high for Aldo's. I love Italian food and grew up visiting Baltimore's Little Italy. Aldo's is okay - better than Olive Garden - but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. Focaccia bread appetizer was lacking enough seasoning, but the bread itself was outstanding. If that's what they use for pizza, I imagine that's wonderful. Meatball appetizer was okay. They were soft and I could taste the cheese in the mix, so that was good. But they were barely warm, and the red sauce wasn't anything special. Truthfully, it didn't encourage me to want to try their spaghetti and meatballs. I ordered the shrimp gorgonzola. The sauce was wonderful, and perfect on angel hair pasta. The shrimp, however, were definitely not local shrimp. They were very large and tough - they appeared to have been boiled or steamed without any seasonings. One of our guests had never had shrimp before and the texture of the shrimp was off-putting for them. Being that local shrimp is readily available, I don't understand why Aldo's wouldn't use local shrimp. Also, grilling the shrimp or butterflying them would have made them more tender. I left 2 shrimp on my plate to be thrown away. I understand the rave reviews about the sauce, but overall, the shrimp ruin the dish. One guest ordered chicken alfredo. They reported that the sauce was good, but the chicken was bland. The dish wasn't even presented well, as the chicken strips that were placed on top of the pasta and sauce had no coloring - no grill marks, no blackening season... the majority of the dish was thrown away. Another guest loved the mediterranean pasta dish. Our waiter was attentive and refilled our water, but did not replace the ice in our glasses as it melted; I basically had a glass of room temperature water. The restaurant is comfortable, however, the piano music is so dated. I was surprised to hear "Saturday in the Park." There's also only one bathroom stall for women. And the door is simply frosted. It's weird and uncomfortable. Seriously. I don't understand it at all. If I'm shopping in the area, I might pick up a pizza, but I doubt I'll be returning otherwise. Oh! My bill for the meatball appetizer, shrimp gorgonzola, and a piece of coconut cake, came to $59.10 - not including tip. I do not feel the meal warranted that price.

Yelp
Aldo's has been an Italian staple of Virginia Beach for over 35 years. It is located in the Hilltop section so it is not that far of a drive if you are visiting and staying in one of the many hotels at the oceanfront or shore drive. Nonetheless it's a spot worth visiting anytime of the year. The food is good nothing special and is as good as you might get in Virginia Beach. They need to start selling their homemade marinara sauce because that's the highlight of lunch or dinner. The calamari isn't bad but gets elevated with the marinara sauce and same goes for the other pasta dishes.

Lori G.

Yelp
Aldo was the restaurant I took some fellow workers as a thank you for all they have done for me. I couldn't have been happier we were seated immediately although I did have reservations. Our server Vinny was one of the best I've ever had. The food was outstanding, and when Vinny recommended the Napoleon as a dessert we all couldn't believe how delicious and what a great recommendation it was. I will be back and hope to have Vinny and definitely will have the Napoleon in for dessert. Aldo's presents a lovely ambience for an upscale dining experience.

Yelp
We had a dinner at Aldo's just last night and it was an amazing experience! The stuff work was outstanding, super classy and friendly, the food - hands down! The whole atmosphere was beautiful and pleasant, we didn't wanna leave. Will def be back next time while visiting VB!

Valerie Y.

Yelp
My recent dinner at Aldo's was excellent primarily due to Vinny's wonderful service! He made us feel welcome and valued. He knows the menu and wines amazingly well, especially considering Aldo's large offering . He was gracious and helpful but not at all intrusive. His suggestions were excellent and the food was delicious. We all will definitely go back and ask for Vinny as our server. Valerie Y

Yelp
In a shopping center so parking isn't an issue. We made a reservation but it took us another 10 minutes of waiting to be sat. Friendly service otherwise and fairly busy on a Saturday night. We came here for my boyfriend's mom's birthday and enjoyed a bottle of wine. We ordered the Fresh Littleneck Clams which were delicious. There was fresh bread brought to the table afterwards but it would have been great with the sauce. For dinner, I ordered the Romanelli Alla Vodka and my boyfriend ordered the Sausage Umbria. Both were delicious but I preferred the Sausage Umbria. It had a great Mushroom creamy sauce. For our desserts, we ordered the Apple Pie and Peach Cobbler. Both were delicious bit the peaches were just a little softer. Took awhile after we got our desserts for our server to come back and check on us and get our check. Food is delicious and there was a piano player too. Would likely come back for another special occasion.

Frank Green G.

Yelp
We made a dinner reservation and were 30 minutes early for our wedding anniversary and we waited. You sat us next to the kitchen doors! Then we waited forever for dinner and then we were told after you forgot about us you were closing soon. Was horrible never go back. You shouldn't treat people differently but you did because we looked young! Never would of happened on Long Island.

Yelp
We've been back several times since my initial review - all for special occasions and each year since my first review on Christmas Eve. I've never had less than stellar service. This year, Sam was our amazing server! He was so accommodating to our little one (and on a drink remake), super attentive and incredibly kind during our visit. Favorite items - the focaccia, Shrimp Basilico, Chicken Parm, Marsala and Mediterranean Penee entrees, Osso Bucco ravioli special (OMG!), Chocolate Ganache cake, Creme Brulee cheesecake and the salted caramel gelato. Great drink menu. Delicious specials. Incredible service. I always look forward to our visits!

Yelp
First time in an Aldo's restaurant. First order the Focaccia bread as an appetizer; phenomenal. Overall atmosphere is wonderful. Quiet and clean. This is the one in Virginia Beach. Had the shrimp Gorgonzola appetizer, which perhaps is one of the best appetizers I have ever had. The sauce on the bread ...leaves you speechlessly good. Apparently there's a meal with penne pasta and the shrimp. I will have this the next time I am here. We also had the salmon dish which is very good. Pinot Grigio went very well for the salmon. I will certainly come back. There are several other seafood options on this menu. Both of us loved our dishes. This will likely be my go-to Italian restaurant when we have guests in town. Delicious.

Yelp
Had I written this my first two times here, I would have given this place 5 Stars! So my apologies for not writing one sooner, where the review would have been more favorable. Our waitress was AMAZING: Attentive, friendly, efficient. The food: Mixed reviews: The bread and egg plant stack appetizer was great. My teen daughters liked their main courses. My husband and I felt ours were meh. Mine was a dish I decided to try for the first time, so maybe it was not my cup of tea. However, my husband got what he gets all the time, and something was lacking. Hours later, in the middle of the night, he became ill. Typical food borne illness symptoms. I will not go into details. So not necessarily saying Aldo's caused it: Me and my daughters did not get sick. My husband had a dish with shrimp and pasta. Me and one daughter had different entrees with shrimp and pasta. So hard o tell what actually made him sick. Could have been something totally unrelated. However, this is quite a coincidence.

Yelp
Arrived here for Easter lunch. Aldo's is in a Very cute strip mall with nice store that a mom would like. Aldo's is a very neat, restaurant, very clean, great service, with servers that are very prompt, informed and seem very high end. That said the menu isn't so high end with most dishes ranging from $20-$50. In short, it is a very nice neighborhood response to Olive Garden. The restaurant was busy when we arrived for our lunch reservation. We ordered the chicken Alfredo and a margherita pizza. The server was excellent brought bread and sodas without hanging around. So i have never ordered chicken Alfredo, and I had no idea that it's so bland. Everything was cooked, nothing was burnt, but the dish was very bland. Not sure if that is how it's supposed to taste. If so I won't order it again. But the pizza was good.

Yelp
This was the first visit to Aldo's! It was a busy night, so they sat us in the outside area. Fair enough. The host said it would be warm, but it definitely was not. About 30 minutes in, he came out and basically said oops the heat isn't on. In the meantime, we ordered our food. We started with the calamari! It was flavorless and not crispy at all. Our main entrees were the Gorgonzola pasta and the risotto. The Gorgonzola had flavor, but the risotto was under cooked and had zero flavor. I don't think I'll be back!

Yelp
We went here for NYE and it was great! the dirty martinis were delicious and nice and cold. Calamari was very light and tasty with a light marinara sauce. We each got a pasta dish that were incredible! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Went on a Thursday for girls pasta night with friends. It was FABULOUS! We ordered a variety of dishes: wedge salads, pastas and desserts. The only downfall is we did not get any complimentary bread? We thought maybe it wasn't a thing anymore but noticed 1 table had some. Maybe you have to ask for it on busy nights? Regardless the food, service and overall experience was fantastic! We will be back soon!

Yelp
Great service and really good food. I had the beef carpaccio and the she crab soup. Also had their peach cobbler dessert! Yum! The piano music was a little loud, but otherwise the ambience was nice. I will definitely be going back to try some of their pasta dishes that looked incredible.
