A Treasured Historic Warehouse in Old Town Gets a New Life as a Tavern Next Year | Eater DC

"An Old Town institution, Landini Brothers is described as an iconic Italian restaurant that Noe Landini operates and which shares deep roots in Alexandria; the eatery is roughly the same age as Bonitt’s four-decade renovation career and Landini is now part owner and operator of the Cooper Mill project." - Tierney Plumb

A white-tablecloth Old Town landmark serving Tuscan dishes since the 1970s, still run by the Landini family. Praised by The Washington Post and beloved locally for its old-world hospitality and deep cellar; brunch draws regulars, too.

We had an incredible experience at Landini Brothers in Old Town, thanks in large part to our waiter, Lee. His service was outstanding! Lee was consistently attentive, knowledgeable about every detail of the menu, and carrying himself with a warm, professional kindness that made us feel truly taken care of. The food was absolutely delicious with generous portions that left us more than satisfied. Every dish was prepared beautifully. The atmosphere made the evening even better. Soft music, a relaxed energy, and the charm of the surrounding scenery created the perfect setting. Highly recommend dining here and asking for Lee. He made our night exceptional!

Overall, the food was well-cooked and authentic, but I had small nitpicks with both the food and the service. We arrived at opening time on a Sunday and made a reservation the night before as a precautionary, but when we walked in, the restaurant was not busy at all. We started with a Pate e Robiola crostini as an appetizer. They brought out with complimentary bread & whipped butter to start off our meal, which was lovely. Unfortunately, I personally didn't like the Pate e Robiola too much, as it was very creamy and fatty. We ordered a Penne alla Romana to split between two people - the service was very attentive and split both the pasta and the accompanying Caesar Salad into two portions for us! I LOVED the Caesar salad! The veggies were sweet and crispy and the dressing was umami and salty in all the right ways. The Penne alla Romana was cooked perfectly al dente but the sauce was a little bland. There was salt and pepper on the table to the dish which helped the flavor of the dish immensely. My only small complaint is that while they split the pasta dish into two, we were charged for the dinner rate of the dish instead of the lunch rate. Other complaint is that we ordered a side of pesto risotto but the waiter forgot about it, but we didn't get charged for it so it ended up being okay. Ideally, I would've liked to try it but at that point, we had been in the restaurant for almost an hour and had to leave for something else. The service in terms of getting the food out was pretty slow, but the attentiveness to water refills and clearing away plates was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant if you want authentic Italian food and you have a good chunk of time (maybe up even two hours!) to enjoy your meal.

Saturday night in late October. The street was full of people. Half hour wait to be seated outside. Loud music, not the restaurant’s fault just local musicians living the dream and bothering everyone for blocks. Inside is quiet. I asked only for spaghetti with marinara sauce. That’s all I wanted and it was perfect. I’d go anytime

Overall, a great experience for lunch on a weekday. I will definitely be back. I was first seated in the room that shares as the bar, between groups of business people having loud negotiations (some in person, some on the phone. Some of these were drinking martinis.) I explained my concerns and asked to be moved. I was moved to a nearby area, also with business groups. Luckily, these groups were not as loud. The complimentary bread was fantastic. I loved the fact it was sliced thin. The butter was served at just the right temperature. It was spreadable but not melty. I love that detail! My fennel salad was interesting and flavorful but not seasonal (August.) It was huge, by the way. My server, James, chose a wine that perfectly paired with the salad, as I requested. The kitchen staff worked as a team to deliver and clear. Marco, the busser, kept everything moving. I learned later that James was the lone server, taking care of both indoor rooms and the outdoor tables. He did a great job by himself that day! The main course, grilled vegetables with goat cheese, came next. I am glad it was not a huge, heavy portion. The bread and salad had nearly filled me up. The carrot and asparagus were cooked perfectly. The eggplant and zucchini were a bit greasy. The first slice of eggplant had an entire side of skin, which I could not easily chew. The restrooms were immaculately clean. I really appreciate that and take it as a sign that the management cares about the details. After my meal, I looked at the upstairs. It has several rooms, several of which would be ideal for private parties. The whole atmosphere was classy. The white tablecloths are reflective of the level of service. As stated at the beginning, I am looking forward to returning.

I have been coming to Landini's for more than 15 years, especially a lot more after COVID. My wife and I moved quite a few of our business outings and dinners with friends here due to Tommy and Tami working behind the bar and in the lounge area. When I came in this week, I was told by a rather abrupt manager that they no longer work here. I said "both of them" and she said yes, but do you want to dine here because I have plenty of room? I said yes, I would like to, but the reason I come here is for the service from both of them, because the food sometimes can be just "Okay" for the prices you charge. Her response was can we seat you in the dining area. I said, you might have missed what I said, that Tommy and Tami's knowledge of the wines have sold us for years on why we like coming here. It just feels like country club vibe with them there. Otherwise, most of the staff and managers seem to have about the same care as folks at Cheesecake Factory. More than likely, with two of what we thought were the best professional servers in old town no longer employed there and now, just average service otherwise, we will be taking our years of dining and thousands spent here other places. We thought of Landini's as place that kept people who cared about the patron's money, they are just like many of the other places on King Street now, so look for those places who might have above average servers and actually cares about your experience all around, I know we will be.

I had dinner tonight at Landini, and our waiter Lee made the experience absolutely wonderful. From the moment we sat down, he was attentive, friendly, and professional. He had great recommendations, checked on us at the perfect times, and made sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. The service felt warm and genuine, and Lee’s positive attitude really added to the evening. The food was excellent as always, but the service made it truly memorable. Thank you, Lee, for making our dinner so enjoyable — we’ll definitely be back soon

Google
The vibe in the back portion of the restaurant was most def giving Italy vibes. The food was delicious, the gluten-free pasta was rich and flavorful. The only thing that would have made it over the top was a gluten-free bread. The creme bruele was so good!

Sahil S.

Google
Great place for good Italian food and proper white table cloth service. they gave complimentary bread and we ordered the grilled mushrooms and Caesar salad for an appetizer and both were great. For mains we had two pastas that me and my friend split and they were very proactive and actually pre split the plates for us so it was easier to share. Definitely recommend coming here if you're in the area.

Yelp
Landini Brothers has always been mine and my fiancé's favorite spot in Old Town. The atmosphere is excellent, the food is divine, and the service is usually great. That said, we went recently to celebrate my sister and I's birthday and we found that not only was the service mediocre, but we were astounded to find how much the special ribeye cost when we got the bill ($135!). It was a good lesson to always ask how much the specials cost before ordering. While it was nice that the restaurant left a birthday notecard on the table, the waiter never acknowledged it and we had to flag him down several times to get his attention throughout the meal, despite it not being very busy. While we love this place, the service and our most recent experience was a bit disappointing.

Yelp
Servers are very nice and accommodating. The place looks very exquisite and romantic for a date. However, for the price of the food, I didn't find anything extraordinary. The oysters were fresh, but can be pricey. The steak is a very good portion, but I am not a big fan of the burnt spices which made it bitter. My bf got a seafood pasta, and while the portion is already great, it came a little bit oilier than expected. Overall good experience.

Yelp
Great place to spend a relaxing Sunday afternoon meal. The food is great, the service is exceptional, and the service is top-notch. I am a big fan of their Sea bass. Parking is convenient, and afterwards you can stroll the shops.

Yelp
The food is good, though very expensive for basic Italian. What you are paying for is the location and service. I live nearby and this is a restaurant for celebrations, but I feel like there are better choices in Old Town, especially considering my most recent experience and the fact that I emailed them directly and they blamed OpenTable. You be the judge if this is OpenTable's fault. We got there a few minutes before our reservation, which was for a birthday. They checked us in and said it would "take a few minutes" for our table to be ready, which was already annoying, since there were a lot of two tops open and the bar was full. We stood there for a full twenty minutes while other people were seated and the women at the host stand wouldn't even look us in the eye, they were too busy looking at their phones. Finally one of them asked us "can I help you?" and we said "we already checked in, we are waiting for our table" and she said "oh" and finally we got a table. No menus, no wine list. We literally had to flag down a waiter to get a menu, and other one to get a wine list. The meal overall was good, but I was upset about the service. I reached out to the restaurant to explain the issue -- and they said it was because OpenTable was down! I'm sorry, four people at the host stand ignoring people who are LITERALLY STANDING RIGHT THERE LOOKING AT THEM is not an OpenTable problem, it's a staff problem. Maybe you guys only care about tourist who won't ever come back. Good luck with that. But the locals go out in Old Town too, and we are the backbone of this area's economy. I'm very disappointed, not only with our experience but with the excuses they gave when I asked about it.

Yelp
Came here for my anniversary and made a reservation ahead of time requesting a nice table with possibly a view. We were sat in the corner kinda smushed up against the wall and our table was noticeably very small for the amount of food, glasses, and wine chiller. The table that was sitting next to us was very loud and drunk (no fault of the restaurant's) which made the first half of dinner kind of a nuisance! Overall, the place was very busy for a week night so I'm glad I reserved a table. The food was absolutely delicious and I'm glad our server recommended the half portion of calamari for just the 2 of us. We ordered the caesar, Penne alla Romana, and my favorite-- the Scaloppine di Vitello ai Funghi. Complimentary tiramisu was also delicious and made us feel special. :)

Yelp
Heard a lot of good things about this place but unfortunately was disappointed. My girlfriend's pasta was unfortunately overcooked to the point where she wasn't able to eat any of it. The only thing I actually did like was my dish, the ring pasta with veal. Everything else was alright. Although the waiter was very friendly and offered great service!! Service: Food: Ehh

Yelp
The ambiance is fantastic, all dark and old fashioned restaurant and bar. The staff was really polite, attentive and helpful. The food was really good, definitely a safe bet! The portions are large so I suggest sharing amount two adults! We really enjoyed it and would definitely come back!

Yelp
2.5 Service was very attentive. We were originally seated in the back room and it smelled heavily of cigar. After we inquired, the hostess mentioned the attached cigar lounge, said it was abnormal (others have also said you cannot smell it), and offered us a table in the front dining room that did not have the odor. The ambiance felt mediocre. I think the bar area is fun, but the back room felt dingy. Food entrees were fine, but felt tired. A lot of veal on the menu. 1 pasta option for the vegetarian with us. The did not freshly grate the Parmesan. The desserts were disappointing. We could not figure out why the chocolate cake was $18 - pricing was inconsistent.

Yelp
Yes, eat here, do ittt. When we saw the plates being served, we were like "dang, what huge portions, can't wait to have leftovers." However, the dishes were so tasty that we ate and left no crumbs, we couldn't hold back. Each of the dishes were rich with flavor. The noodles were cooked to perfection. The veal Parmesan was surprisingly tender and was a great match for the broccolini. The clams and muscle binache dish was perfect for someone like myself who craves seafood all the time. The ambiance was exceptional, felt like an elevated traditional Italian place. The server had a very thick Italian accent, so he was the real deal. He also hooked it up since we were celebrating a bday which we are quite thankful for. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Reasonably priced. Busy location with quality food and service. I had a glass of Chardonnay and walked out with the bottle.

Yelp
The good things first. The fried calamari appetizer was crunchy and paired well with the marinara sauce. The tiramisu was excellent with fluffy cream and that delightful coffee flavor. The merlot we ordered was so excellent that we ordered two! The atmosphere is a bit dark, but warm and welcoming. No complaints from the serving staff, but it did take a while to get our food which was not surprising given the type of food some of us ordered. Now for the not so good. The mixed seafood plate was very bland and didn't wow me in any way. The shrimp in the dish were not deveined, so be warned. The house salad was also plain and the 'creamy sauce' was minimal and was pretty much Cesar salad dressing. The veal Parmesan was bland, mushy, and had little flavor. Overall the experience was nice, but the main plates were sorely lacking.

Yelp
The best restaurant in Old Town Alexandria . The food, service never dissapoint. The style of the restaurant is vintage and has a old feel but great decor.

Yelp
Came for lunch one weekend and were seated right away as a walk in which was great! Inside is a rustic authentic feel. We started with the bread and butter which was ok, and only ordered entrees. I got the penne alla romana which was pretty good and a nice portion too. It came with Italian sausage and a creamy tomato sauce. Fresh Parmesan was given as well which is always a great touch. I also tried the fettuccine Alfredo which was really good! It was a solid meal and our waiter was very friendly and attentive.

Yelp
Both pastas we had were delicious! Caesar salad was also great. We had a nice bottle of wine with dinner. The service was great and we loved the cozy atmosphere.

Yelp
Good date night spot in old town. A few business meetings were going on during a week night. Salad was definitely elevated. Ravioli had some earthy flavors and was more filing than it looked. Veal parm was very tender. Broccolini had some nice garlic flavors. Sauce was too chunky, would have preferred it more liquidy. service was attentive.

Yelp
Landini Brothers has a welcoming atmosphere and ambiance and offers quality food and drink offerings. There are a lot of touristy locations in Old Town, but this restaurant is good for both tourists and locals alike. The portions are also a good value.

Yelp
Love the ambiance of this place on King Street. Indoor and outdoor dining. I had the oysters... because I always do. They were medium in size but incredibly tasty. If you are a fan of rack of lamb... like I am...you will be so happy with the lamb and a nice glass of Chianti Classsico.

Yelp
Service was horrific on a Sunday evening. We come here often. We bring people to experience this place and last night it was a joke. Food is consistently good. We sat for 20 mins before anyone came by. Other tables were getting serviced. It was NOT busy at all. We had to get get up and ask for a waiter to come by. We didn't even know who was our waiter. The back server did bring us waters but we wanted bottled waters but since nobody asked.... He also brought bread after I asked for it. Again, I had to get up and ask the host to have someone take our orders. We ordered appetizers and an expensive bottle of wine. Wine was a fiasco. We were nice and patient. A different waiter brought it and kept telling us he was just helping while the bottle got ruined and spilled all over the table. Nobody cleaned the table. Appetizers came in and he was snippy with the back server (poor kid) and told him to wait to set appetizers on the table. Then again, not one person came to check on us. I got up again and asked for a waiter to bring us more water. Waiter again. At this point it's over an hour and had to find the waiter to take our dinner order. And didn't see him again until food came. Back server brought us more water and bread. We had to ask him since our waiter or any other waiter wouldn't even make eye contact with us. Just a weird and terrible experience.

Yelp
Very fancy atmosphere (romantic, dim lighting). Definitely a great spot for a date or special occasion. Sooo many wines to choose from. For appetizers we got the prosciutto that was served with cantaloupe which was very tasty. However I was really blown away by the clams casino! The bacon & butter were very rich & the clams were huge. For pasta the penne alla romana & tortellini alla panna were both sooo tasty & huge servings! Loved how rich the sauces were. Ended the night with an espresso martini which was huge & very good (coffee flavor was rich). Service was great as well.

Yelp
Old Town Alexandria can be a bit overwhelming in terms of deciding on where to eat - there are so many options. We opted for Landini Bros and even though we decided to share an appetizer and entre, they were nice enough to serve it on two plates for us - thanks! The linguini alle pescatore was good - with a generous amount of seafood in it. And the bread that came with the table also good. Drinks - the wine pour slightly on the generous side which was nice - given that some restaurants skimp on this. Alas, the waiter who started out okay, kind of got weirder and weirder as the evening wore on. He ended up pitching his book he sells on Amazon and appeared to be part of some bizarre cult. Kind of funny at first, but the dude didn't really let up and after a while it was like, enough. We ate outside, and the ambience was kind of ruined by the loud street musician nearby, which I suppose is not the fault of the restaurant. I wonder if the restaurants in that area like that music being played and/or if they have a say in any of that. 4 stars - minus half a star for strange server, so could have been 4.5 stars.

Sean C.

Yelp
We made reservations here to celebrate my daughter's wedding, even noting this in advance so the restaurant would be aware of the special occasion. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. Our server seemed rushed from the moment we sat down--he hurried through the specials, was short and dismissive in tone, and at times was difficult to understand. Most upsetting, he completely forgot to bring out my granddaughter's meal, which we had ordered before the appetizers - specifically so she wouldn't be waiting. The atmosphere at our table became so uncomfortable that I actually inquired with our server if we were overstaying our welcome. It truly felt like we weren't wanted there, which is the last thing you'd expect on such an important day in an establishment like Landini Bros. What should have been a joyful celebration unfortunately ended up being stressful and disheartening. While the food met our expectations, for a restaurant of this caliber I anticipated far more care and hospitality--especially given the significance of the occasion.

Yelp
It's been a long time, but boy was I blown away! From the minute we walked into the door I loved the vibe here! From the hostess to the wait staff, and the drinks were perfect! Don't get me started with the menu selections! The appetizers and main course pasta was simply amazing! The wine selection is great too
google avatar

Denise J.

Yelp
Best food in Old Town. The atmosphere is fantastic especially when they open the doors in the bar area on a beautiful night. The bartenders are true mixologists so all drinks are made from scratch and perfect.

Susie C.

Yelp
Altogether it was an expensive, unfortunate experience. Worst Fettuccine Alfredo anywhere. Such a thin sauce! Someone else in the group ordered Linguine Alle Vongole Bianche Ó Rosse and got very sick to their stomach. We were a table of six. One of us got our food 15+ minutes before the others. A table of six that came in 30 minutes after us had bread and ordered their food before our absent waitress came for our orders. Service was horrible. Food was mediocre. Staff was impolite -- especially the hostesses. They claim to have a Business Casual dress code (which we followed), and yet Mothers Day Sunday there were diners in shorts, t-shirts, muscle shirts, etc.

Yelp
Landini Brothers is a solid spot in Old Town for Italian food. The pasta is fresh, the steaks are cooked perfectly, and the portions are generous. The veal chop and lobster ravioli stood out the most.both were rich and full of flavor. The atmosphere is warm and classic, with an old-school charm that fits the area. It's a great place for a date night or a nice dinner with friends. Service was quick and professional, and the staff made sure we had everything we needed. I'll definitely be back!

Chloe K.

Yelp
Service was pretty standard. I'm not too picky about food but the Fettuccine Alfredo was so bad! I truly don't recommend getting it. Nothing really stood out to me about this restaurant. I recommend the neighboring restaurants.
google avatar

Vicky S.

Yelp
I came here for the first time for valentines day (it was one of the only places with available reservations in the area) and we were blown away by how good everything was! The vibe in here is so cute and cozy and everyone was having the best time! Food was also very very good & we've had a lot of italian in DC! I loved how unique the menu was. The caesar dressing however was heavy on the anchovies and very creamy so i wouldn't recommend if you're not into that
google avatar

Stephan T. N.

Yelp
I would give a 5 star, but the wait for the food was a bit long. The place was crowed on a cold windy night and the ambiance was nice. The pasta that we all had was very tasty and delicious. I would definitely come back and eat here again.

Yelp
Food and ambiance was amazing, calamari was our favorite app. Our waiter was 10/10 service (:

Yelp
I'll admit that I am a spoiled Italian food critic given my time in Italy many years ago. There are a few positives for this restaurant, including ample seating, a nice rustic interior, and a significant array of food options especially if you're looking for dessert, come appetizers and other side dishes. I ordered the pasta with mussels and it was just OK. There were so many mussels without the shells that it was almost overwhelming with a heaping mountain of pasta. The sauce was average, nothing special, and was missing a bit of taste. Unfortunately, there dish "pescatora" has the seafood mix already prepared, which was also a "turn off" when potentially ordering that dish. Desserts - including the key lime pie - were very good. Our waiter was very patient with our large group and made good recommendations.

Yelp
Landini's has always been my favorite in Old Town. Consistency of excellence for the food and service is the secret. So much for the hype. I consider the experience there as "fine dining", and as such it is reasonable to expect the patrons to be welcomed in decent attire. Ok, this doesn't mean a suit for a man, or even a jacket (although I'm hung-up on looking good, in part so others will do the same). Unwritten dress codes have unfortunately changed so my taste will no longer prevail. I get it! However, that my favorite allows bozos with baseball caps substantially dilutes my evening. Saturday, March 22nd, there were 3 in view for my lady and me. This is the reason I prefer to dine in DC where patrons of the best spots are asked to uncover and otherwise not offend those out for a grand evening. Geez, go to Burger King please! Why does sloppy and uncouth win the day at Landini's? How can I continue to give it a 5?
google avatar

Penelope N.

Yelp
This is a very bougie, upscale place. Fine dining. Very busy. It feels like you've stepped into an old movie almost. I was slightly reminded of Maggianos interior for hosting parties, as we were there for a wedding reception and had an area reserved to ourselves a long table. It's dark in there but great place for birthdays or anniversaries, very romantic and elegant. We had excellent servers that came around often, and my cousin ended up spilling wine when she was reaching for something but it was cleaned up very quickly (I mostly felt bad for the wait staff and we all offered to help clean up the mess). There are a lot of wine options for those that are interested. I enjoyed the small little appetizers in the beginning, and the caesar salad was just ok, mostly greens with a bit of shredded cheese and light vinagrette type dressing. What I really loved was the entree I got, the lemon chicken. It was soft and buttery, well seasoned, and even though I generally don't love broccoli I actually loved the broccolini that it came with. I know others enjoyed the various other entrees like the seafood linguine, the eggplant parm, and braised short ribs. And since I live for desserts, I wanted to save room for that so I requested a take home box for the chicken to be able to finish the tiramisu and it was delectable. The cannoli was ok too. It all went well with the coffee that was served. Lovely experience overall, definitely what I think of when folks say wine and dine someone.

Yelp
Food is phenomenal here. We had a lengthy wait for dinner even with a reservation, but we had drinks at the bar while we waited! I had the tortellini al panna which was SO good and I have been thinking about this pasta ever since!

Yelp
We came to Landini Brothers for our anniversary and overall had a nice time. We were seated very quickly with at our reservation time, and the restaurant was packed. The restaurant is a little bit dark and you only have a small lamp at the table, so a little hard to read the menu. It took a long time for anyone to come to us to give us menus and ask if we wanted water, and when we were still waiting for water a second waiter came up to ask if we wanted water when she brought bread. It took about 15 minutes to actually get our water, so we knew we would need to order as soon as the waiter came back. There were close to 10 specials that night, which felt like a lot in addition to the choices on the menu. For starters we got the Carpaccio di Tonno and Carpaccio alla Italiana, and both were very good. There was a lot happening on the plate for the carpaccio that I'm not sure worked together but were good individually, and the soy sauce dressing was very good. We both ordered specials for the entree, the fettuccini with lobster, crab meat, and mushrooms, and the veal with prosciutto, mozzarella, and mushrooms. My fiancé spoke highly of the veal, he didn't know it would come with a few potatoes and broccolini as these sides aren't listed on the menu as coming with entrees and the waiter didn't mention them, so it was a pleasant surprise. My pasta was good, it didn't feel too heavy for the portion size, but a little dry. I think there was only a little bit of olive oil on it, so it could have used a little bit more (or whatever the sauce was). There was also a shell on the crab meat, so that was unpleasant. Overall we had a good meal.

Yelp
My husband and I are in Washington DC with friends. We decided to spend the day exploring Alexandria and asked our concierge for a recommendation. He said this is his favorite Italian restaurant in the world! We ordered : Risotto Alla Pescatora - generous portion with a lot of seafood, but this was our least favorite dish. Penne Alla Arrabbiata - our friend said it was excellent with the perfect amount of heat Agnolotti Alla Fiorentina - homemade ravioli stuffed with spinach and ricotta The special of the day: Linguini with shrimp, clams, and pancetta - this dish was amazing! Truffle French fries - so good!! Service was excellent!

Yelp
The service was excellent. Our waiter James was so professional; he was right back at the table to remove our appetizer plates and returned with our next course piping hot. James was very personable and graceful (yes, that's right); it was almost like watching a dance. The food was excellent and the portions generous! We will make it a point to go there again on our next trip to Alexandria.

Yelp
Service was a 5/5! Waiter rattled off the many specials with ease and grace (super impressive)! Salad came out with dressing initially (requested on side) but was quickly resolved. Ambiance was lovely. Warm lighting, beautiful art, and an overall, calm, relaxing and pleasant environment. Food was a 4/5. Solid date, family or business dinner choice in the heart of Old Town, Alexandria. Would recommend.

Yelp
Date night. Boyfriend made the plans. And this might have been his best made reservations yet! It's been a month and I can't stop thinking about this dish. I'm a such seafood fan. I generally like it raw and on some ice in one of those fancy towers if I'm lucky! But the Linguine alle Pescatora? I'm such a fan of mixing it all together with some amazing noodles and a sauce that wasn't too heavy or overpowering, but just enough to coat the mussels and clams and calamari. I couldn't finish it that night and I could not wait until I could have it for leftovers. I'm not as big of a foodie as a lot of other people but this dish made me feel like one. It also made me wonder if this is how they think about every dish they eat??! Besides my amazing dish, my date had the veal which he said was so good. I'm not a veal person so I trust his opinion. We also ordered a bottle of wine and ate every last bit of the fresh, crusty yet chewy bread they brought us. We couldn't possibly have saved room for dessert but there were a lot of tempting options! Our service was fantastic. The space is just lovely and in a great area. I cannot wait to go back!

Yelp
Tonight was the first time in 30 years that we've had a disappointing meal at Landini's. Unfortunately, not one of the four of us finished our dishes. The short ribs were overly salty, the seafood pasta had an overpowering fishy taste (even after I asked to hold the squid) , and even the usually excellent pasta Romano went mostly untouched. Service outside was also unusually slow. We're not sure what was going on tonight, but given our long history of wonderful meals here, this visit was a real letdown

Yelp
For $27.95 the Linguine alle Pescatora is LOADED with Maine diver sea scallops, shrimp, baby clams, fresh P.E.I. mussels and squid sautéed in garlic, crushed red pepper and white wine. I finished my pasta and still had so much seafood left. I loved this delectable dish!! My husband had the Tortellini alla Panna ($21.95) which were ring shaped noodles filled with veal, sautéed in a light cream sauce and topped with Parmesan cheese. He enjoyed them and ate every bite. The wait staff was responsive and fast. No issues here! Kids friendly. Clean bathroom. And can offer a romantic feel if desired.

Yelp
The food is always fresh and tastes so lovely. The ambience, inside and out, is terrific, but the service is fantastic. Paulo made sure we had everything we needed from the time we sat down until we left. He's a longtime server at Landini Brothers and always ensures his customers are treated to the best service. Much appreciated!

Yelp
We heard this was the best Italian place from several locals so decided to give it a try. We made reservations which are required at standard dinner times. The staff were amazing, the food was great! Well worth the visit.

Yelp
Pretty good food, really neat building, but in desperate need of A/C in their back dining room! Really big fail in their lack of beer or spirits. The staff was great but they were dealing with ownership/management that clearly is not catering to their clientele.

Yelp
The ambiance is nice. It's clearly an older place in the heart of Old Town, but the interior is elegant and modern without being overly-contemporary. You get that classic Italian feel. The waitstaff is very kind and incredibly attentive. One of our entrees came out incorrectly and our waiter promptly corrected the order with no fuss. The pasta was delicious and the martinis were TRUE martinis - not in those skimpy glasses that other restaurants provide. We enjoyed our time and will be back.

Yelp
dined with 5 and got there just before 8:30. Most likely that's why staff were rushed. First, waiter never answered my question whether the rum they had tasted like bourbon...many do and I don't like that. He should've offered to ask the bartender. Wife had really crappy Old Fashioned. So won't go there to drink. As to dinner; was pretty good but the waiter forgot to put in 2 side orders (pasta and spinach sides for the fish we ordered)...maybe because it was late? Obviously didn't charge us but I think the kitchen simply said they weren't making it; idk. We've lived here for 20+ yrs and dined here many times. Frankly, I'll go back again but it won't be later than 7:30PM since I don't think they do well close to closing.

Yelp
Authentic Italian Cuisine. I won't say it's the best Italian food I have had but it is really good, and the service is kind and on top of their duties. The bread was my least favorite of the meal, and the Cesar salad was average. However the pasta was very good and better with each bite. This places earns a 4 because of the pasta and the service. Go try it! You'll like it.

Yelp
Both food and service are first-rate, and the menu straddles the best of Italian and fresh seafood. What could be better?
