Farmstand offering fresh, locally grown produce, meats, and dairy

"An East Austin farm hosting a national Outstanding in the Field dinner on Saturday, October 5 at 3 p.m., featuring a meal led by Rick Lopez of La Condesa paired with wines from Baja California’s Azizam Wines; tickets are $385." - Nadia Chaudhury

"We are actually feeling pretty grateful despite power being out for 80 hours and subsequent water and pipe issues; our team did an amazing job covering what we could and prioritizing row cover where possible. Some crops fared remarkably well — napa cabbage, baby kales, brassicas, spinach, leeks, onions, cilantro, carrots, and beets — and things in hoop houses like lettuces and flowers did well; our hens survived and we lost only about 25 percent of seedlings. We are already planting new starts into fields and hoop houses and will begin planting eggplant, tomatoes, and peppers in two weeks; failed crops will be tucked under tarps as cover crops to nourish the soil since we practice regenerative no-till farming. The community response has been strong — 63 of 120 transactions were new customers on Saturday — and we sell produce on-site Wednesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and offer gift certificates to support recovery." - Erin Russell

"A true farm-to-market stand where the majority of produce is grown on-site and harvested within 24 hours of market days, offering an updated seasonal list online. Expect less-common vegetables like dandelion greens, parsnips and Shishito peppers alongside multiple tomato varieties, fresh bread and pastries from Texas French Bread, Texas Coffee Traders organic beans, Carla’s Springdale Handmade Soaps, ready-to-plant garden starts (basil, bell peppers, Yaqui Tomato), and dairy/meat from local producers such as Richardson Farm, Deer Run Land & Cattle Company and Pure Roots Chicken; arrive before 11 a.m. to see staff finishing that day’s harvest. Dogs and smoking are not allowed." - Sarah Engstrand
